Paul continued to stare at her, and when she wrapped her arms around him . . . . he could have sworn that this wasn't real. Had her opinion of this whole thing truly changed so much? Had it really been years?! If he was hallucination he was going crazy, but if it meant that he got to see her . . . lock him up in an asylum!
Her soft skin was something he had greatly missed. He titled his head so that it as rested on her shoulder. This felt real . . . as real as the last time he had hugged her, only then, he had been human. And now she was hugging him as a wolf. Did this mean that she had accepted everything?! That she was comfortable with this? He couldn't detect any fear in her, even when she first saw him and said his name. He wanted to phase back into his human self so that he could talk to her, so that he could kiss her and tell her how much he missed her . . . but he didn't want to move. He was so comfortable right now, and he was worried that if he left to phase, then she would be gone, and he could not bear to lose her again.

Rachael let him go so she could wrap both her hands around his long nose and bring it down to her level and kiss him before his wolf eyes. "Paul. . . I brought you pants, if you need them." She offered, changing her mind on what she needed to say until he was human. "Want me to get them for you?" [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Paul nodded his wolf head, desperate to break free from this body he had trapped himself in for the past few days. He felt like he had so much to tell her, yet he knew that once he would be able to speak, all words would leave him. He was still terrified of leaving to phase . . . . . . . but he didn't want the first thing he did when she came was to be appearing butt naked in front of her. He nudged his head closer to her, not sure he was ready to depart from her, even if it was just for a matter of seconds. Not only was she hugging and kissing him, she was bringing him pants! She was trying to make things more convenient . . . for she understood what happens when one phases, and that led him to believe even more that this was her way of expressing acceptance. Paul just hoped that was not too optimistic of him.

Rachael smiled and kissed his wolf noise again before turning to run (trip and run some more) to get his pants. She picked up his short too, and walked this time over to bring them to him. "I will just. . . " She looked around and then hung them over a branch. "I will wait by the swing." She gave him another smile and then walked back to the swing, sitting in it and looked at the house, to give him a moment to. . . .dress. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. He didn't want to leave. He remained standing there for a few more moments, before he slowly began to walk towards the branch where his clothes were hanging. He was walking backwards however, as he did not want to take his eyes off of her. He took the clothes in his mouth, and ran quickly into the forest. Paul phased and got dressed faster than he ever had before. He only bothered putting on pants, for he did not have the patience to add a shirt to his attire. Once he was finally done, he quickly went back to the swings, and saw that she was still there . . . as beautiful as she had always been . . . and as real as she could ever be. Paul was in shock but the shock did not make him freeze. He didn't want to waste a second. He quickly went to her and pulled her into a hug. He held her tightly, closing his eyes feeling that everything was perfect again. There were no words to express the amount of joy right now. He did not even think of the possibility that she had just come here to say a final farewell. He was too overjoyed to allow such negative thoughts tarnish this moment in time, where he had finally felt happy again.

Rachael had not heard him move closer to her until she felt his hands on her. She gave a light gasp of surprise before wrapping her arms around him and holding on tightly. "I'm so sorry!" She said as she held on tightly. "So sorry, so sorry so sorry!" She kissed his neck and ear since she couldn't pull away to do more. "You really need your shirt on." Random much, Petals? She shook her head, "Then we should go walking, on the beach, unless you tired or -- Oh food! I brought you food!" She was very random in her nervous speech. "You like food." He didn't care about his shirt. He didn't care about the beach. He didn't even care about food. All he cared about right now was the woman that he was holding on to, as if is life was depending on it. He didn't know what to say. Her apologies made him feel a little guilty, as if he should be the one apologizing. But he didn't say anything. He just continued to hold her. He slightly pulled away, just enough so that he could kiss her. He kissed her passionately; it was something he had thought about every second she was gone. He positioned one of his hands on her cheek, while he wrapped the other around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
When he finally felt he had to end the kiss so that he could catch his breath, he distanced himself ever so slightly from her, but kept his head lowered so that their foreheads were practically touching. "I love you," he said in a very quiet, yet very sincere voice. He would never be able to say that enough; even if he said it every minute of every day for the rest of his life.

Breathless Rachael smiled up at him. "I believe you. I believe you will forever." She said having decided she was willing to risk it all. Put that much faith in him. He might not have seen her before, but now that he had seen her she was going to give him every reason to love her. So when he stopped and if the imprinting faded away he would love her for her, anyway. "I love you, too! Forever, and ever and ever!" She keep repeating the ever part until she kissed him again. Paul smiled hearing her say that . . . he loved hearing it. He loved saying it. He wanted to say it again, but just went back to kissing her, allowing himself to get completely lost in this perfect moment of time. He never wanted to pull away. . . never wanting to let her go, ever again. All the exhaustion he had once felt had completely vanished, and he felt a burst of energy, a euphoric feeling consume him. When he regrettably pulled away once again, a smile was still formed in his lips.
"Thank you, for coming back to me." His voice was still soft, still quiet, and still completely honest.

Rachael felt the wind around her but Paul was keeping her warm She felt so happy. She had been frighten of coming back, wondering if he would be angry with her, or be mad that she left and hadn't called. She hated the thought of hurting him. "Thank you for letting me." She said in his same tone.
"Paul, I brought you food, Emily said you had not been -- been human for days." She told him so he would know she, knew about him. "I have so much to tell you. If you eat, I will tell you everything!" [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"You never have to thank me for that." He would always let her come back . . . he would never need to think about it for a second. It was strange to hear her say that he had not been human for days . . . so calmly. She seemed so calm with everything. He didn't even want to think about food, but if she wanted him to, then he would do anything for her. And it did not sound like she was planning to give the food and leave him. "You won't go when I eat?" He asked, his voice almost sounding pitiful as it pleaded with her to stay.

"No, Paul," She said while smiling at him, "I'm not leaving you. I came back to la Push, to stay." She stressed the next words, "Forever. With you." She wanted him clear on that. She made up her mind, she was (as Emily said) a wolf girl now. She was Paul's 'mate' and nothing would make her leave him. He was her's as much as she was his.
She still had questions, and some worried but not in the amount that would send her away again. She had come home to La Push, to be with him. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Stay. Forever. Forever. That word stuck in his mind. He was so happy, he couldn't even smile. He was so overcomed with joy, he didn't know what to do, he didn't know how to deal with it. So he just hugged her again. This was the moment he had dreamed of. The one that he had wished for so hard, that he couldn't even sleep at night. And now. . . he never had to worry about her leaving again, because there was sincerity in his voice, and he could hear it. He knew she would not lie about something like that. She would stay with him. And he would take care of her. "I love you," he repeated. "I missed you. You have no idea how much I missed you." He wasn't accusing her or anything, he was just expressing how empty his life had been without her.

Rachael laughed softly, when he hugged her, but stopped at his words. he might have meant them to be gentle but she still felt guilt. "Oh Paul! I am sorry sorry! I just needed to think and clear my head and by the time I was there I was wishing I was here, and wanting to come back, already!"
"Do you want to go to the beach, and sit down and eat? Emily explained that was why you eat so much, and being you have been working for days I thought you might need food, so I brought half the house here for you to eat." She teased. "You don't have to apologize." No matter how much he missed her, he couldn't blame her for it, or let her blame herself. "It was a lot to adjust to . . . and seeing you, here, at my place, looking more beautiful than I remembered, it means the world to me. It means more than you could ever know, or that I could ever express." Paul was not often sentimental, but when he was, he continued on and on. "I wanted you to come back too, more than anything. And here you are," he exclaimed, looking at her with an affectionate expression. "That sounds perfect." He held her hand in his, not wanting to ever let go of it. "Thank you so much Ray. As much as I missed your cooking, food wasn't the first thing on my mind when I saw you." Though it may have sounded like a joke, it was completely true. "So you talked to Em?"

It was supposed to soften you up and make you forgive me." She joked and walked over to pick up the basket. "Put on your shirt and we can go to the beach! This time for a better conversation." "You look beautiful, you always look beautiful. You could have been wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and you'd still be stunning." Though he had to admit that seeing her so dressed up . . . for him, it was a great feeling. "You don't need my forgiveness Ray, I wish you could understand that." Paul wasn't quite ready to go back to the teasing, not yet. Not until he expressed how grateful he was that she was here. The shock, and joy was still sinking in.
Though he was reluctant to leave, he listened to her. He quickly grabbed his shirt -- knowing it would make her feel more comfortable -- and quickly put it on before resuming his position next to her. "Alright, lets go," he said, unable to take his eyes off of her. He was going to make a joke about her running off, but again, it was still too early for that.

"I promise not to run off again." she teased, to show it they could joked and be how they were. That she was not going to let her running away, or how wolfness come between them. She was slightly surprised Paul had not made the joke. She had a wonderful mental image of her running bare foot across the beach in her dress and Paul chasing her, their laughter waking up the ones who lived to close to the beach. As each moment passed by, things were slowly starting to normalize. He felt as if she had never left, and yet he still couldn't stop looking at her, afraid that some how . . . he was dreaming, and that he would soon wake up to find himself alone, and away from his love. "There's a first time for everything." The beach was a romantic setting. He had just never come back since she had left. He felt no need to come bakc. "It should be pretty desserted at this time. Well, certain spots on it." They could have some privacy to talk freely about what they needed to. He was still in strange daze; an awe of the reality of the situation. Rachael, was here, with him, holding his hand, telling him that she loved him . . . it was the epitome of perfection.

"Yes, we do need privacy." She suggested, "As I said before, I have allot to say. We want to be alone for it." She shifted the basket so she could carry it better as they walked, and looked up at him. He was taller then her but Emily's heels and his bare feet made the he--Bare feet! "I am going to take a wild guess, and say you don't need to get your shoes to walk to the beach." She already knew the answer. Emily had just told her that when she saw anything weird, to just call it 'a wolf thing' and it would help. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul would have been worried had she not previously promised that she was not leaving him. Though, he still had a bit of concern as to what she thought about this whole wolf thing. She seemed to have embraced it, accepted it, but that didn't necessarily mean she was okay with it. Maybe she was going to ask him to stop phasing. He would do it for her, only if she wanted him to. He let go of her hand, only so he could put it around her shoulders. "Hey, I put on a shirt for you. Can't expect me to get fully dressed, especially going to a beach." He was getting more and more comfortable with the situation, and soon . . . it would feel like she had never left.

Rachael laughed, "Its a wife beater, Paul, not much of a shirt. . . Emily said you run warmer then humans so to much clothing makes you hot. So I make sure to keep it simple." She carried the basket higher on her arm so it was more comfortable (He better eat all this so it was easier to carry home) and looked around. "Can you see in the dark?" She asked, knowing she could barely see where she was going, and Paul had been at ease in the woods. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

|"Thanks," he said, truly meaning it. She really was considering every aspect of the wolfness. "The less clothing, the better," he said smiling, as it was a bit of a flirty / perverted remark, and he had meant it that way. Yes. Things were feeling normal again indeed, though he knew that when they started talking about it . . . it would all feel real again. "If you're worried about getting lost, don't be. Wolf's senses are heightened. We move faster, see further, have a better sense of scents . . . seeing at night is just part of it." He tried to remember how much he had explained to her before she left, but it sounded like she got more information from Emily . . . which he was fine it. Maybe it was easier to hear it from someone who was in the same position as she was.

"Move faster, fight vampires, stronger, and get to walk around half naked. . . . yes, very teenage boy's dream come true." She said making it more as a joke then anything. She knew there was pressures on them that even if he told her everything, she would not fully understand. Still, after talking to Emily she had a theory. One she would be explaining to Paul soon, that explained the imprinting, and blood lines. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Well that last part there is more every teenage girl's dream," he said with a slight smirk on his face. "Don't act like you don't know it. You know you do," he teased, knowing how shy and modest she was. It was part of the reason he enjoyed teasing her so much. He missed teasing her. He had missed so many things . . . he was going to have to make up for lost time. And this picnic, was the perfect way to start.

Rachael laughed and blushed. If Paul had looked like this during school, she would have left sooner, "You didn't look like this in high school." She told him. "You were not quite as tall." She added on so it wasn't insulting the boy she had loved. "I am assuming that tall is, a 'wolf thing' since. . . . half the boys in town are starting to look like you and Sam. . . . How many will become--like you." "Yeah, you're right, its totally a wolf thing. I mean, I would probably gave gotten a bit taller than I was in high school -- " Compared to what he looked like now, he was a shrimp when he was in school -- "But not this much. We go on a crazy growth spurt . . . you probably noticed that in Jake too. He's a bigger wolf than I am, imagine that." He wondered if she had ever seen her brother phase . . . probably not. Otherwise, Paul would have known about it.
"Dunno how many more of us there are to come. The pack now is bigger than its ever been. The one before as, years and years ago, only had three wolves in it. Guess there's a lot protecting that needs to be done," he said shrugging. He didn't mind a bigger pack. Since his close friends had already phased before him, by the time Paul had . . . he was all for the phasing, and liked having new wolves he could pick on.

"Is it that dangerous out there?" Rachael asked slightly afraid of the thought of it being that dangerous miles from their own homes. How many vampires were their out there, and worse, how many lives were taken to fill their blood lust? She shifted the basket higher on her arm, and held it tighter in order to both support the weight and feel some comfort. The basket would protect her, but having something in between the darkness and her self, helped her willingness to walk where she couldn't see.[/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Paul didn't want to scare her, so he kept it vague. He was not going to tell her all the dangers that existed . . . not when he just got her back and it would risk her leaving again. He was not going to take that chance. He also didn't want to lie to her, so he knew he would have to think of a decent reply, that would avoid both things. "I guess there are just a lotta vamps out there. But don't worry Ray. They are outnumbered." Sort of. "If they come any where near La Push, we'll know about it and deal with them." They were not attacking the Cullens or anything right now . . . there were other enemies to deal with.
It was when she adjusted her position once again, that he finally realized he should be the one taking the basket for her. They were only a few moments from their destination, but still! He was going to try to be a gentleman; the more reason he could give her to stay, the better. "Here, I'll hold that," he said, taking the basket from her. He only took a few more steps before he stopped. "Do you want to sit here?" So much for his attempt to be chivalrous.

Rachael smiled up at her Paul (HER PAUL) and gave a nod. "Sure, we can stop here if you want." She wanted things perfect for him, so wasn't going to make a fuss about anything tonight. Or try not to anyway. "I have a blanket we can sit on in the basket." She said reaching for the basket he had just taken from her. She pulled the thin blanket out, that looked more like a rather large towel then a blanket and started spreading it out. The wind for once wasn't strong so it was simi-easy, if not a bit cold from being so close to the water. Goosebumps from the cold and nerves were on her arm.
Once it was spead out, she sat down on one end, but not all the way. She rested on her knees, so it would be easy to move. She was going to be bold! When Paul sat down she was going to get up and move over to him. Let him know she was not afraid of a big bad wolf. . . just of the human man before her. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making.
