Tonight was the night. Paul was going to do it. He had been with Rachael for so long that he did not want to wait any longer . . . he was getting impatient with himself. He had been putting it off for long enough . . . it was time to rip the stitches and face the consequences of telling Rachael about himself, and ultimately her brother. Well, if he came up. He was not scared . . . well, he was terrified in fact but he would never show it. He could not let the others know that he was actually scared of something. Paul did not have much. He had his brothers in the pack, and he had the only woman he would ever unconditionally love. He even knew that the pack was temporary because when Rachael was ready . . . he would stop phasing for her. So really, all he had in life was her. It was the one thing that he could never lose, and it was someone he may lose tonight because he had to be freakin' honest about the fact that he was a wolf.
. . . . . . . . . . . Honesty is way too overrated.
It was late . . . a little past midnight. He just wanted to tell her when no one else was around. When they could have complete privacy. He put on a confident face and only hesitated for a moment before throwing a small pebble at her window. It was so tacky, but he did not want to wake up Billy. Somehow, he had a feeling that Billy would not allow his daughter to wander into the woods late at night . . . with Paul of all people. "Rachael," he called in a harsh whisper, throwing another small pebble so that she would wake up if she was asleep. He looked around, making sure no one was watching. Yes . . . this was very tacky indeed, and embarressing, but if it meant he got to see Rachael, it was well worth it. She was his soft spot, the only thing that calmed him, the only thing that he had to look forward to every moment of every day when he was not spending that time with her.

PINK . . . . . . .PINK . . . . . . .CRACK!
Rachael sat up on the couch that she used for a bed in the house that was WAY to small for three people. Since Jacob was bigger (the freak) he got both the beds in the bed room. Her father had a bed in his room, and the only other room left was the 'family room' and fold out couch.
She heard her father about to get up. "I got it Dad, don't worry!" Jake of course didn't wake up. Looking over at broken window, Rachael got up and walked over, doing her best not to step on the glass. Looking out side she gave Paul her best 'What the figg' face. "P-paul?" She asked in a whisper. "Do you have idea what time it is?" ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

OOPS!
He should have known his own strength . . . or not have underestimated the strength of a pebble. A huge grin formed on his lips when he saw her. She managed to eliminate any fears or uncertainty he had. He could never associate any negative feelings whenever he saw her. She always gave him the peace and happiness that he could find no where else. "I missed you," he said, continuing to speak in a voice barley above a whisper.
"I wanted to see you. Can you come down?" So that he would have to talk to her this way. "Be careful . . . sorry about the window," he added not wanting her to get hurt because of his desperation to see her.

Rachael gave him a small nodd and turned away from the window. She was wearing her PJs which were short shorts 'boxers' and a tank top. She put on an over sized shirt (one of Jake's) and her jeans. Then she slipped on her boots but did not tied them up since she didn't plan on staying out long. She passed by a mirror on her way out the back and gasped. Her hair looked horrible! She took off her boots and went back to the bathroom to brush her hair. . .and her teeth, and clean up her face a little. Might as well put on a cleaner shirt to.
Finally after about 15 minutes she exited the back of the house in jeans, and a t-shirt with Jacob's jacket on since it was bigger and warmer. Her shoes were her running shoes, so it made her almost a foot shorter then Paul. "Why aren't you in bed?" She asked him with a smile. Glad he was here, but wondering why he was here is midnight. Paul expected her to come straight down and so for every minute he was waiting, he had kept glancing at his watch. Wow. Women took forever to get ready. But it was always worth it. So he stood, pacing outside, trying to find the words to tell her . . . or maybe . . . he could just show her. It was easier to accept when one saw it with their own eyes rather than heard someone explain such a bizarre notion to them.
When he saw her, his smile reappeared as he approached her. And in a further attempt to close the distance between them, he kissed her. He remained in that position for a few moments before pulling away and wrapped one arm around her. "I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about you . . . and I just had to see you," he explained to her. "Billy didn't get up, did he?" He asked, wondering if he was going to get it from her father.

Rachael had still not gotten over that fact that PAUL, Paul Moran, liked her. When he kissed her she giggled quietly and knew she was blushing. "The smashing of the window, woke him but I told him not to get up. I think, he assumed the wind did it." She curled closer to him as the said wind picked up for a short moment. Goodness Paul was hot. Psychically. That was something else the La Push boys had in common. More and more of them were showing up freakishly tall and burning up.
"As glad as I am to hear that I was on your mind at midnight," She blushed at what else that could mean, "Shouldn't you be warm and safe in your bed?" She couldn't invite him in. Her father would freak no matter her age. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Good. I don't want him coming out with a shot gun threatening that he'll shoot if I don't leave." Of course with his accelerated healing, it would not matter much but still . . . he did not want to traumatize Rachael. Paul then chuckled when she said the words 'warm' and 'safe'. If only she knew . . .
"Now why would I choose warmth and safety over being with you?" He loved the way she blushed at his comments . . . it truly was adorable and he wished he had seen it sooner so that he had not wasted so much time without her. He pulled her closer to him so that he would keep her warm. "Come on, lets go for a walk." Of course he had something planned but he could not come out and say it. He had to make it sound very casual so the would actually go with him. If she did not want to right away, he would have to find a way to convince her . . . though it should not be too difficult.

A walk? "It's midnight, and it's cold out." She said with a laugh. She wanted to go, that could be seen on her face, but she wanted to be warm and in bed too. The wind picked up a little and she pulled Jake's coat more around her, glad he was close with his crazy body heat. She looked around and then playfully glared at him, pulling back to reach in the house and grab Jacob's toboggan. She put it on her head, and locked the back door putting the key in the pocket of the coat. "Where are we walking to?" She asked as she zipped the huge coat up and put one hand in the pocket and her other hand in his warm one. She might hand to switch hands later, if the other got to cold. He was fully prepared to use another method of persuasion but much to his delight, she accepted his offer. He laughed once again when he saw what she was wearing. Considering all he was clad in was a t-shirt and jeans, it was funny to see her so bundled up. "I'll keep you warm," he said, smiling as his comment was meant as a flirtatious one. "I was thinking we could go into the woods . . . its quiet, and we can have some privacy there." Privacy. That was what they needed. He began to head towards said destination, while holding on to her hand, and keeping her close to him at the same time so that perhaps some of his heat could transfer on to her.

Her eyes narrowed, playfully at the word privacy. If thought he was getting some in the middle of dirty woods on a cold windy night he better dream on. She walked with him, hand and hand, giving him the being of the doubt and smiled up at his tall form. She was so short next to him for she didn't mind. She liked hos small she felt next time him, and how protected. "So this missing me, and privet moonlight walk. . . this isn't a booty call is it Paul?" ((Icons not of my own making. Paul grinned at the thought, deciding to play along. He supposed it could look like that . . . if only it were that simple though. "If I said yes, would you change your mind?" He asked, winking at her as the smile ceased to disappear from his lips. "I mean, you did agree to come with me after all. So you can't be too against the idea of it." Paul certainly would not have minded that . . . he needed to get his mind out of the gutter so that he could focus on why he was really pushing for privacy and solitude at this midnight hour.

"I agreed to come with you, because I trusted you not to make this one." She looked up at him. She wondered what was off from him tonight. Was their something more then a simple walk going on? They had not been 'dating' long enough for him to be asking her anything official or big. Unless Paul moved faster then her. . . "I was mostly asking as an opening for you to tell me what is going on." ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul would never betray her trust like that . . . of course not. But would she feel betrayed after he showed her who -- what -- he really was? "Well I guess you'll just have to wait and see then . . . and enjoy the walk in the meantime," he said, still smiling. He did not want to change the mood to a tense, nervous one. Not yet anyway. "You aren't too cold are you?" He asked, knowing that the cool breeze might be too much for her. He wanted her to feel comfortable.

"It's ten degrees out here, Paul." She exaggerated allot. It wasn't that cold, maybe only in the high 40s. The wind made it feel colder, and Paul made her feel warmer. She liked that. His freakishly warmness. "I can bare the cold if your around. You work better then a fire." She teased him, about it. She was also having trouble seeing where they were going. "We are going to get bit by some snake out here. It will take them weeks to find out bodies." ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Good. Then she was comfortable after all. He laughed when she feared for snakes, death and people not being able to find their bodies. "I would never let a snake hurt you," he told her in between laughs. Snakes were so small compared to him . . . but he thought it was so very cute how she was afraid. "Will this make you feel better . . . " And once he asked the question, he lifted her up and carried her in his arms. "Now I'd really like to see a snake just try to get close to you." His warmth, and abnormal size would soon make sense . . . she would soon get the answers to the questions that she probably had, yet never really asked. But for now, he wanted her to remain happy, carefree, and unafraid.

"PAUL!" She squeaked but laughed as he carried her. "Your going to trip and get us both hurt! How can you even see were your walking? It's dark in the woods, and we don't have a flashlight. I should have gotten on from the house."She put her hand in the pocket and pulled out her keys, using the very small key chain light to light up the night. "This will help some." She pointed the light in the area he was walking, how deep were they getting? She couldn't see the house anymore. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"You need to stop worrying so much, and give your man a little more credit. I like to think I'm more balanced than tripping while I have such a delicate person in my arms," he told her. He was not even the slightest bit worried about falling, or the darkness, or getting lost. He was used to it . . . and she would soon see why. "You don't need that flashlight. Just trust me. Do you trust me?" He asked her in a soft voice. There was more to this question than just talking about tripping and getting lost. He wanted to know if she truly trusted him . . . it would help him determine if he thought she would be able to handle his transformation.

Rachael wondered if there was more to this question then he was letting her in on. She looked at his face, event tilting the light so she could see it better. "I trust you not to hurt me, but somethings, like tripping can't be helped. Besides, I heard the stories from a year back, they wild bears to huge wolves that ate people. . . " She had scared her self now, " . . . Maybe she should turn back!" ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Oh the 'bears' . . . uh oh . . . what if she was terrified to see him as a wolf? It was reassuring to hear that she trusted him, but he knew she did not truly know what he meant by the question. And she would not understand until the time came. "Don't worry about wolves or bears. Not when I promised to protect you. The wolves don't stand a chance." Oh the irony. He couldn't help but laugh again as she urged them to go back. "Its okay Rach, don't worry. I promise I won't let anything hurt you. I would never let anything hurt you . . . and I would never hurt you."
When they went a bit further, they reached a small clearing. It was surrounded by trees, but it contained the privacy he needed. "Here we are," he said as he gently put her down so that her feet were once again touching the ground.

Rachael looked around the little clearing and smiled. "We should have a picnic here when it's day light and warm." She commented and smiled. She wondered what Paul had been building to all night. She could tell he had something on his mind, but knew better then to push. Looking up she noticed you could see the stars. They were so bright here when you could manage to find a non-cloudy night. She couldn't find any stars on a map or point out the groups but she loved to look at them. Joshua her roommate had even had a star named for her for a Christmas gift.
Looking back down at Paul, Rachael smiled at him, and decided to keep that fact to her self. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"That sounds nice," he said, suddenly wishing they had come here earlier as well. That this spot could have held some sentimental value to them instead of now being a place that would potentially traumatize her for the rest of her life. She could never want to come here to this perfect place again. Oh well. He knew what he had to do. He had to do it though. He needed to build up the courage because he could not hide this from her any longer. It was time.
He turned to face her, and stood very close. He leaned in and pressed his lips against hers, softly but passionately. After pulling away, he kept his face close so that his voice was a quiet whisper and could still be heard. "Don't be afraid," he said in a gentle voice, as he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. With those words, he took a couple of steps back, still facing towards her, and slowly unbuttoned the top of his jeans.

She loved kissing Paul. It made her feel as if was back in high school and didn't have to worries she did when she was in school. It was just Paul and Rachael. There was no drama in her family, no great plots, no pressure. . . . Then he started taking his pants off.
Rachael's eyes went wide and she watched for a half second longer then she should have before spinning around and covering her eyes with her hand. "PAUL!" She said sharply, "I wasn't joking when I talked about booty calls!" She was angry. So much for her no pressure idea. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul stopped when she was no longer looking at him. He could not help but smirk at her reaction. He knew what this looked like but he couldn't explain it without her actually seeing it. "Rachael . . . " He had to hold back a bit of laughter. She was clearly angry. It was actually a good thing she was not looking at him right this second . . . he was still grinning. Once he made his expression a less amused one, he continued. "Rachael will you please look at me." He was now only clad in his boxers. He had taken off his jeans and his shirt. Paul worked quickly.

"No!" She said as if she was talking to a child and had repeated her self a million times, "I will not!" She stood their in angry silence. What was he thinking . . .or worse! What was he doing behind her? She wanted to start walking back to the house but wasn't sure she could fin her way. She half expected to turn around and see some sort of orgy going on. She waited their for the sounds of him putting clothes ON to at please her. "Paul. This isn't funny! Get dressed!" She wasn't uncovering her eyes until he was. ((Icons not of my own making. "Rachael! Come on, don't be like that." He just wanted her to see him phase so she could believe it. He wanted her to see the way hnis body transformed from looking like a normal teenage boy, to a massive wolf. He didn't wan her to be afraid. But from the way things were going . . . it was going to be a little harder than he thought. "Just turn around for one second . . . I just want to show you something. I'll be quick, promise. Please, just look at me. Can you do that . . . for me?" He tried to make his voice sound as pathetic as he could, but the pleading tone was completely genuine. Paul was on the verge of phasing and he needed Rachael to witness it.

"If we talking about what I think we are talking about," She said dryly, "Being quick is not something to brag about." She waited another moment, then sighed and uncovered her eyes, glanced over behind her to see him in his boxes and then turned back away.
Then she started walking away. She wasn't ready for sex with Paul. Especially not sex in the dark, cold, and dirty woods with Paul. Paul could stay there and do it by him self! Rachael looked around, which was out out? ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

When she had turned to him he thought he would have the chance, but she had looked away too quickly. Damn it! Now she was walking away. "Ray! Wait . . . just hang on a second." He scrambled to pick up his clothes. If she was going to walk away from him, then there was no point phasing for himself. "Give me a second to explain . . . I need you to look at me!" He repeated, getting frustrated that he had to do it this way. He wished there was another, more simple way of showing her. But there really wasn't.
Paul's guard went up. He couldn't let her wander through the woods by herself . . . she was right, there could be dangerous animals out there. He did not want to risk it, but he had to get her to look at him, and stop her from walking away!

"Wait up? Paul you woke me up, dragged me into the cold and dark woods and stripped down into your boxers. I don't know how fast you move but this, is way to fast for me!" She rambled on as she walked faster.
She smelled something awful too. She keep walking trying to pull her keys back out for light when she tripped over something. Falling on the ground hard she used the light to see what it was. . . . .Oh . . . MY . . . .
It was part of a dead deer. The leg part. It was bloody and gross and all over her pants now! Rachael let out a grossed out short scream and kicked it away, tears in her eyes. Damn it Paul!
That was when she heard something moving behind her, glaceing over she saw what had kicked the deer. . . . ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

She was not slowing down, or waiting. She was on the move and he could not let her wander on her own. He held his clothes in his hand, when he heard her scream. That was enough to set him off. The scream of fear and distress was enough to force him to phase into what he had been trying to show her all night. It began with the trembling of his entire body until two legs turned into four, and silver fur covered his entire body. Paul Moran was now a wolf.
He quickly ran to where he smelled Rachael, and saw the blood. Fear filled him when he thought that the blood was hers, but he soon realized that it belonged to another deceased animal. One that had been mutilated. It could have been anything that caused such a massacre, a wild animal, or a leech. Either way, he did not want Rachael to be here when it revealed itself. Oh why did he bring her into the woods tonight? How could he have put her in jeapordy like this. He knew he could protect her, but he hated that he put her in a position where she was so afraid.
He went closer to her and nudged her with his nose, trying to show that he meant no harm and that she should not fear him. But he could no longer speak, so communication was going to be very difficult indeed.

She had told Paul this would happen! She watched the wolf come closer and then turned her head slowly to look around for whatever was eating the animal. "Paul!" She called out backing slowly away from the wolf. She started crying, and even talking to the wolf even though she knew it wouldn't understand. "Please don't eat me." She backed away more, crawling backwards. It wasn't acting like a hungry wolf.
When it nudged her she froze. . . .it nudged her? She moved closer to the ground as it that would help her when she noticed in the distance, were scraps of Paul's boxers. What had happened to Paul?! Her face jerked up to look to see if their was blood around the wolf's mouth but she got distracted by it's eyes. . . .it's very human brown eyes. ((Icons not of my own making.
