Rachael looked up at Paul, her face red and said no by shaking her head. When the waiters walked away she let out the breath she had been holding. She had been worried Paul's temper (that she was learning about tonight) might embarrass them. She waited a moment before speaking, but paused for a moment she she noticed the waiter and his friend watching them from behind Paul.
She watched them for a moment before looking at Paul. "This is becoming very embarrassing!" She whispered. "Can we just ignore them?" [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul also noticed the waiter watching them, watching her. Idiots. Morons. Sons of bi--
"What does the napkin say?" He asked again, not prepared to just drop it. He was prepared to phase right there, tear them apart and then enjoy their meal. "I can't ignore them! They keep staring at you. Its making it hard to relax when they are hitting on you and writing secret loves notes, probably with their numbers on them."

"It's-" She sighed, "It's just his number." She lied because she got the feeling that Paul finding out they wanted to kick him out and beat him up would be worse. "I don't intend to even keep it, can we just, let it got and forget about it. Ignore them, please?!" She whispered while 'begging'. Her fave looked as embarrassed as she felt. This was a bit much for her first few days in La Push. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul was not so forgiving. He tended to react in the moment, and he was using all his strength to keep himself calm . . . or calm-ish. He was not going to let this go. Not at all. "I see," he said, speaking through semi clenched teeth. He then gave her an awkward smile. He did not want to spend the entire evening arguing with her. "Sure," he said as calmly and level toned as he could. He had a plan -- sort of. Paul did not plan. The extent of his plan was saying he was going to the washroom but really going to beat up Sand Man and his bringer of dreams -- his sidekick. "Lets just eat. The food looks delicious," he said, already taking a forkful and putting it in his mouth.

Rachael let out a sigh as if she had been holding her breath and gave her a bright 'thank you' smile. She believed he was letting this go. Which was wonderful, they could get on with their night and forget about waiters, and sandcastles. "Yes, lets eat, since it looks so good!" She inhaled to smell it. "Is yours good?" She asked while taking a bite of her own. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Delicious!" He said, taking a big bite, just so he would keep himself from saying anything along the lines of 'I am going to go beat those guys up' . . . which is what he was going to do. But if she noticed it after he had done it, she wouldn't be able to prevent it. From the way they had acted, they deserved it. "Hows yours? You wanna try some of mine?" He offered, moving the plate towards her. This was another first: Paul Moran was sharing his food.

Rachael smiled and used her fork to steal a small bite of his. "It is good." She pick up some of hers on her fork, paused for a moment, thinking her next move out before slowly raising her fork to him, "Want to try mine?" She might not know it was a first her him, but it was also a first for her. Being bold enough to feed a man in public. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

He wanted her to feed him, to show off to the other guys that she was HIS girl. That she came here with HIM. That no one else should brother trying to win her over. "Sure," he said, leaning forward and opening his mouth to surrounded it around the fork and allow the food to go in. "Its good." The reason he would not rave about it was because a moronic waiter had served it to her. He wondered if they had comment cards here . . . he would rip him up career wise, once he ripped him up literally. "Now I see why you like Mexican food."

Rachael laughed softly, and blushed. "It's spicy." She liked to think it made her braver. Back in the day she had been so shy, and it had been harder to make friends. Now she was sitting on a date with Paul, who she had loved since she was 13 and had many friends. Smiling brighter at that thought she spoke again, "I think it's my favorite." She said, letting him think it was about the food, when she knew she wasn't even thinking about the food. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"I like hot and spicy," he said winking, as he meant it in a more suggestive manner than mere food. He had wasted a lot of time not flirting with her. Those damn waiters were ruining their night! If it had not been for them, then he would have complimented her a lot more. Yes, Paul was going to blame everything on them if this date ended badly. But so far . . . it seemed to be redeeming itself. Then again, when he was with someone so truly amazing, how could any moment spent with her be described as bad?

Rachael blushed deeply and looked down and laughed. She got the double meaning. She wondered if he was being honest when he said that. She wasn't hot and spicy. She was,. . . . Something plainer. Smarter. Still, the liked Paul thinking she was, it made her want to live up to his ideas of her and for once, it was looking easy, rather then unnatural and hard. "Then you need you to come to my house one night," Pausing for a moment so it had a double meaning, "for supper. Some people can't handle it." [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Paul liked where this conversation was going. "Hmm, first date and you're already inviting me over to your place for the night . . . " He liked it. Of course he knew she didn't mean it like that but that didn't mean he couldn't play along. "Usually people say coffee, but hey, I could definitely go for supper. I'm sure I can handle anything you have to offer," he added flirtatiously.

Rachael's face was blushing so badly right now. "Some people might call it coffee, but I don't. I meant supper, as in food, and sitting at the table, . . . were I live. . . .with my Dad . . . and brother." She said, smiling. She looked around, "I am going to be right back. Do you know where the ladies room is in here?" She looked for a sign, "I see it. One moment." She got up and walked that way, shooting one last glance over at Paul before going in. Paul thought it was adorable how her cheeks blushed a red color. He would have continued on with the flirtations, had she not gotten up to use the restroom. He watched her disappear through the doors. He was distracted by the thought of having 'supper' with Rachael, that he almost forgot what he had planned to do. Seconds after she was no longer visible, he got up and made his way to the back door that led outside, at the back of the restaurant.
There was Inigo and his buddy taking a smoking break, and they just glared at him. It was odd, it was almost as if they were expecting him to come. Then again, they should have been. Paul took off his shirt, and at first they were confused by this action. He was not planning to phase, he had enough control of himself to prevent that from happening. . . but he didn't want to get his shirt dirty.
Paul glared both of them down before he went for the first punch: right across Inigo's jaw. Inigo fell back, caught off guard by the powerful blow, and thats where his bouncer-look-alike came in. Maybe he was his bodyguard, whoever he was, he punched Paul right back. First in the jaw, then in the stomach. That's when Paul no longer held back. He punched the guy twice, forcing him to land on his back, and then went for Inigo. After all, he was the one Paul had a problem with. Inigo tried to punch Paul, but he ducked, and tackled the moron instead. He viciously punched him, making sure that it wasn't hard enough to kill him, but enough to teach him a lesson.
Inigo was not too weak, for he was getting some punches in there, causing Paul to bleed, as the sound of cracking bones filled the air. Only difference was, Paul's would heal very soon. Inigo would have to live with the pain. Once Paul felt as if the waiter had enough -- and was still conscious, but just barley -- Paul stood up once again, and grabbed his shirt. Before he left however, he kicked Inigo once more, and then crouched down to whisper in his ear. "Stay away from my girl," he said in a quiet, but very warning tone.
He stood up once again and looked at the other guy. His expression questioned whether he wanted another go. The guy just stood there as the two of them exchanged glares. "Been a blast gentleman," he said before going through the door. He went to the washroom and splashed water on his face to wash away the blood. The wounds were already healing, and Paul felt no aftermath of pain. Once he looked presentable -- and not like he had just engaged in a massive fight -- he put his shirt back on and went back to the table. He sat there, patiently, waiting for his date to return.

Rachael came out of the ladies room, to see Paul sitting down. She just assumed he had used the gentleman's room and walked back to the table. She smiled at him as she sat down, and picked up her fork. She knew her picking up the conversation, as if she had not left might be weird but she really wanted him to come over and see her more. She was afraid he wouldn't ask her for another date and she had worked up the courage in the girls room to ask him. "Do you want me to cook something for you tomorrow night? Maybe after you get off work, if your working tomorrow?" [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul LOVED the sound of that! She was offering another date, which meant that tonight was going fantastically for her. "That sounds perfect," he said smiling. He would get the night off patrolling. Hopefully Jacob wouldn't be there. Paul wasn't sure when he was going to tell Jake about this; though he would find out soon enough. "I get off work around 5, so I can come over after then if you want." He was looking forward to it very much. Though the thought of not seenig her until tomorrow evening after tonight seemed SO long . . . but he knew it would be well worth the wait. Hmm, maybe he could suggest something that would give them more privacy.
"Or you can come over to my place." His parents would not be home, so they would have the place to themselves. Paul continued to smile at the thought of that.

"My dad hasn't seen me in a while, so I promised I would hang around the house as much as possible. Do you mind, coming over? If you rather, we can do it another time." She offered, "I had planned to cook this shrimp thing that jac--ob---liikk. . . es. . . " Her voice trailed off as she looked behind him in shock. There was her waiter, looking like he was getting sent home for the night, because he was dirty and bloody.
She glanced at Paul who was still all clean, then back at them before leaning closer and whispering, "I think they fought each other. Good thing you didn't mess with them, look at what they did to each other!" [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

He was about to say that he didn't want to do it another time, but she seemed distracted and thats when he turned his head to her line of sight . . . which rested on Inigo. He looked like hell. Paul had to hold back a smirk. He wanted to brag about about how he beat them both up, but he had a feeling Rachael would not take that well, so he just played along, forcing a semi concerned expression. "Yeah . . . man I wonder what those guys could have been fighting about. You should definitely throw out his number; he looks like trouble."

"What number?" OH! "That number!" She said and glanced down guiltily for lieing about it. "Yes, I will toss it out, first chance I get." Where he could not see. She was glad he had not saw it, he might get angry. If he had not been so clean, then she would have assumed he had something to do with the mess the waiter and busboy was in. But he looked as good as when they had gotten here, so she didn't think he could have anything to do with it. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Mind if I have the pleasure?" He asked, holding out his hand. He wanted to be the one to throw it out . . . just so he would not have to think about the jerk moving in on his woman. He eliminated one of threats, and he could keep going down the list of morons who hit on Rachael Black. "I wonder if this guy lost his job over the fight . . . " He thought aloud. That would be even better. That would be terrific!

"That would be horrible!" Rachael said ignoring the offer to toss it out. He might read it and see what it really said. "I hope not, I hope they just sent them home to clean up and think about that they did." She hated to think that they lost their jobs! They might have a family they needed to support! "Maybe we should compliment them to management to make sure they don't lost their jobs." She started looking around for someone in charge. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. He hoped that wasn't all. Which was why when she suggested they say something nice, Paul was completely against the idea. But . . . it might be a way to redeem himself in her eyes, though he didn't think she had a problem with his behavior anymore. "I don't think we need to do that. If he's a good waiter, they wouldn't let one fight affect his entire career." Oh how Paul hoped it did. Then they could come back here any time, with better service. "Besides, he wasn't that good a waiter," he added shrugging. Rachael was far too nice to everyone. "But if you want to help them, I'll find the manager or something." Hopefully, Inigo didn't point him out as the attacker. . . Paul did not think far enough to raise the possibility that Iningo may press charges against him.

"No, we can just catch them on the way out or something. No need to let your food get cold." She said, not wanting him to have to eat cold food because she was worried about a stranger's job. She didn't want him to think she was needy or one of the girls who would demand he jump though hoops in order to be with her. Since apparently he was with her. Two dates, did that count as dating? Were they exclusive now, or did he plan to see other girls causally as well. He made comments that hinted to only her but, was he just being sweet? [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. He was riding on the fact that she would forget by that time. Because he had no intention of finding a manager, unless of course she asked him to. "Sounds good. We still have to have dessert," he added, smiling at her, suggesting that dessert involved something more than food, but of course he was just flirting. Paul may move fast sometimes, but he valued what he had with Rachael too much to rush it. He could be patient for her.

Paul was never full. He could keep eating, and eating, and eating, and eating, and eating some more. "She's good. She's doing her own thing, I'm doing mine." Paul had never really had strict rules, and things were even less strict now that his mother knew about his phasing. "They're away right now, they should be back tomorrow." He thinks. "Hows your sister?" Oops! That was not a good topic to bring up, considering he had a past with her. He was going to ask how Billy was, but he knew, and then he was thinking of asking how Jacob was, but he knew that too. Good thing asking how her mother was didn't come out. "And her husband," he added, just so it didn't look like he was trying to get at something by just mentioning her sister.

Ahh, what a bad subject to bring up while on a date with Rachael. "No. I haven't talked to her since she left La Push." He wanted to make that very clear; that he was not in contact with her and that there was nothing more between them. How was he going to answer her next question. He wanted to be honest, but also make it sound like it wasn't a big deal. "Yeah, well . . . sorta. It was pretty casual. Nothing serious." Nothing serious at all. "Thats good that she's good. Where's she at now, Hawaii is it?" He was trying to make this sound so casual, maybe he should have just changed the subject, but that may make it even worse.

"She's in Hawaii, yes." Rachael answered and paused for a moment. "The photo from Prom of you and her is still on Dad's cabinet." She wasn't sure what she meant by telling him that. Maybe just reminding him that if he came over tomorrow, her father would wonder what was going on. Then again, Prom had been one fo the nights to push her over. Shortly after Junior Prom she applied to every school she could, and by then graduated early, and left for the first one she got accepted in. She had been tired of the routine, and watching others live the life she wanted. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Oh." Crap! "Really?" Shoot! He didn't know what to say to that. "Prom was . . . wow, that feels so long ago. I guess time really flies." It was a fairly strange thing to say, and Paul knew it, but he was desperately trying to divert the subject from discussing his date with his sister during prom. That was not the best thing to talk about right now, though he had to wonder if Rachael was angry with him. Then again, she had agreed to go out to dinner with him after all, how mad could she be? And she didn't seem to think too much of the fling him and Rebecca had, which was also a good sign.
