Alice honked the horn on her stollen car when the guard finally let her into Volterra -- after a good bribe. The people were everywhere! All in red with pointy teeth... it was St. Marcus day, the worse day for Edward to attempt something. As she tried to manuver around the large crowds of red and narrow roads, Alice kept getting visions. They were all short, filled with blurred shapes in the background of undecided people... Some of those visions, the ones she wanted to come true, were of Edward being saved and living an other day. The majority however were very unpleasant. Visions of Edward being tortured, torn to shreads, burned... the list went on. And all the visions played quickly through her mind, each not lasting much more than a second. Also, a great deal of the visions had to do with Bella and herself. Their deaths were in her visions as well and it terrified her. How could she have been so foolish to promise Jasper, her husband, the man she never had intended to lie to, that she would get herself out of there before she could get killed? She didn't want the last conversation she had with him to be over the phone in a plane and all a lie. But she couldn't say she wanted him there with her very much. Yes, she missed him but if he had come, his future had death written all over it. Alice never wanted Jasper to die or be in harm's way.
Reving the yellow porshe as she tried to divert people from her way, Alice focused as hard as she could in what was going in now. "Bella, I won't be able to get you there," She started, turning left into a very narrow road not ment for cars. She quickly found her way back to the big main streets and stopped her car in the middle of it. Alice turned towards Bella. "He'll be under the Clock Tower. He plans on doing it at noon exactly; the time if day when the sun is at it's highest and brightest. You'll have to run in that direction," Alice pointed out her windsheild. Under it, on the dash board, the little numbers lit up showing that it was 11:58. "I'll meet up with you as soon as I can. If you get lost, as around for the Clock Tower..." Then she told her how to say it in Italian and sent her in her way with great haste.
When Bella was out of the car, Alice waisted no time. She reved the engine and manuvered her way around the crowds again, trying to find somewhere she could park that wasn't too far away. More visions flashed through her mind: Bella being too late, Bella being on time, Bella and Edward being killed withint a few seconds of the whole thing. It scared the little vampire.

Bella felt like she was going to go crazy before she would get to Edward. Even Alice’s super fast driving didn’t seemm fast enough at the moment. And now the car was slowing down. There was too many people here. Even if Alice was one of the best driver Bella had ever seen, there was no way she could drive fast here. Hell Bella was not even sure if Alice would be able to drive period. She looked over at the pretty pixie like vampire. She knew that Alice was getting visions. And Bella could easily guessed they were awful if she was not sharing them with her. ‘’Why is there so many people?’’ She asked getting frustruated. She looked over at the time. There was no way they were going to make it. Edward would come out in the sun for all those people to see and then what? Yes Bella knew what would happend then. The Volturi would take Edward and kill him. Bella had to do something anything. She could not simply wait for this to happend. She had been so foolish to jump off the cliff. This was all her fault.
She could hear the motor of the fast car and yet the people around didn’t seem to care. They kept going their mary way as if nothing was wrong. But then again how could they know that the love of her life was going to get himself kill because he thought she had been dead. Soon Alice had came up with another plan. Bella would have to do it on her own. As soon as Alice has spoken the words, Bella was out of the car ready to run as fast as she could. She nodded to Alice to let her know she understood and then ran as fast as she could. She kept telling herself not to trip. It clearly was not the time for her and her clumsiness to come at hand now. She couldn’t run for long soon enough she had gotten to where most peope were and there was not space for her to run.
She pushed the people out of her way the best she could. The Clock Tower. From where she was she could easily see it. She knew she could get there soon. But would it be enough? And then she saw him. Against the pale bricks of the tower, he was taking his shirt off. ‘NOOOO’’ She screamed ‘’EDWARD NOOOO’’ She screamed again as her body slammed into his own. She tried to push against him but it was like trying to push a wall out of the way.

They left him no other option. They would not grant him death so he would force them to destroy him. He had many plans on how to do this but the easiest most respectable plan for Carlisle's sake was to simply walk out into the sun. Edward could not live where Bella did not. He could not exist where she did not. He could not be without her. She was his life, his everything. And now. Now she was gone. Forever. He would not allow himself to remain where she did not. It would not be tolerated. He had no meaning to even exist. Edward closed his eyes standing just within the shadows of the clock tower. His thoughts completely focused on Bella. This was the end. He could never be with Bella even when he was destroyed. She was in a place where he could never reach her. For he was a soulless monster. But he simply could not go on without her. If she was no longer nor would he.
Thoughts of Bella flooded his mind. He would only think of her now as he unbutton his shirt. He didn't care if when they destroyed him it was painful or not for nothing could compare to the fact that Bella was gone. Nothing could be more painful than that. Nothing brought more misery than that. He could be no more. It was peaceful to know within a few seconds the pain would be no more. To know he would be no more. That he wouldn't have to feel the pain to know that he was without Bella. Edward heard the clock strike twelve. Edward smiled as small peaceful smile only seconds left and he would feel no more. Edward kept his eyes closed the image of Bella firmly in his mind. How beautiful she is. How could he ever go on without her? She was everything to him and now as long as she was no more so would he. The scent was so wonderful. Bella. His love, his everything. Edward looked down to see Bella in his arms.
They were fast he had to give them credit for this. He did not even feel any pain. "Carlisle was right." Perhaps Edward was not a soulless creature as he had thought. For how could he when he had this beautiful girl in his arms? "'Death, that hath sucked the honey of they breath, hath had no power yet upon they beauty." Edward quoted from Shakespeare. And how true it was. Bella was just as beautiful as his memory. He could not live without her. Edward could finally be at peace seeing Bella. Smelling her wonderful scent. It was of no temptation at all. Why had it been? He could never hurt Bella. Her scent was of nothing that bothered him. But he was dead, wasn't he? Perhaps that had something to do with it. It didn't matter he was with Bella at long last and that was all that mattered.
