Walking Along (seth)

David watched as Seth drove off. Then he chuckled once again. "Really. That kinds stinks." He walked up to his knees with her. Once he dove out, he swam back in. As he was swimming in he saw a shell. It was the most beautifulest shell he had ever seen. He picked it up then waded back over to Kristy. "I found this shell and I thought it was very beautiful, would you like it?" He asked her. He really hoped that she would say yes. Truth was, when he saw that shell he saw her. It was unique and it was beautiful. That's how he saw Kristy.

Kristy smiled and blushed a little, she nodded and took the little shell, "it is wonderful...Thank you" she says looking at the shell. She didnt know what it was about the boy but she was attracted to him, in a way she hadnt ever felt before. She smiled again and looked at the water, she could see white peaks on the water farther out, indicating that there would be some waves coming in soon. She didnt even know what time it was, nor did she really care. She was just happy to have found some friends and be hanging out with them, or him she should say.

David started walking back to the shore. Once he got to the point where the water would come up and reach his feet he stopped and sat down. He had no idea how to explain the imprint to Kristy or when to do it. He was seriously thinking hard. David looked at Kristy when she sat down. He didn't know how to start the conversation off or what even to say. Should he ask if she has a boyfriend, then ask her out. He was lost. So, he waited for her to start the conversation.

Kristy smiled and followed him, she carried the shell softly in her hands. It felt like then grandest prize she had ever gotten, bigger than when she got her first horse. And grander than her medal at the Olympics. She sat down next to him and smiled, she wanted to ask him if he had a girlfriend but didnt know if that would be rude so she started with a simple question, "So how long have you and Seth known each other?" she asks smiling at him. She let her legs stretch out infront of her and gently laid the shell on her upper thigh.

David watched as she put the shell on her thigh. "Um...for as long as I have lived here and that was since I was born. What happened was I used to live in Neah bay. Seth was still my friend at the time. His parents and my parents were best friends. One day my parents just packed up and left. I moved here and have lived down the street from him ever since. He is sorta like my brother." In that way David was perfectly sure he had helped him into the transformation and everything. "So, how long have you lived out here you seem kinda new?"

Kristy nods and wonders why his parents just left him, that seemed kind of harsh. She nods and smiles, "yeah I moved here like a week ago?" she says making it a question but not a retorical one, "But yeah, moved from Ohio away from the media and everything" she rolls her eyes. She sighs and looks at him, "So if you dont mind my asking, how come your parents left you?" she asks. She didnt wanna sound rude but she was just too curious.

David laughed. He knew she would be curious, everyone is, once they find out that is. "Well, for one. I was 16 and they didn't want to live here anymore. Said 'There's to much drama'. When they tried to get me to leave with them. I said that I wanted to stay. So, I got a house down the rode from Seth and that's where I have lived since. This year I found out what they meant by too much drama. But, I'm glad I stayed. I would of rather stayed then left." He decided that now was the time to ask. "So, there's this question that I have been biting to keep back. May I ask you? It is pretty personal." He looked at her with a guilty look. He didn't want to do this but, something on the inside was telling him to.

Kristy nods, "Drama huh?" she says, she had lived through media exposior(sp) and the Olympics, she didnt think there was anything in the world that could blow her mind. She sighed and looked at him curiously and a little wary when he asked if he could ask her a personal question. She thought about it for a moment and then nodded, "shoot..." she says smiling at him. She didnt have anything to hide really. Its not like her life was a seacret to anyone. She looks at him and her face was soft.

David looked at her. She was very pretty and why shouldn't he ask. "Um. I don't really know how to phrase this. But, do you have a boyfriend?" He looked at her hoping that he didn't sound like a total dweeb and hoping that she said no. He would ask her out if she said no and he would tell her everything about eh werewolves and vampires.

Kristy was a little surprised but shook her head, "Nah, I um havent had one since middle school, never really had time for them" she laughs a little. And then rolls her eyes. She sighed again and looked around. She couldnt believe that he had asked that, it was a little straight-forward for her liking. But who cared, he was so amazingly cute and nice. She blushed and laughed a little at herself.

Looking up at him again and blushed an even deeper red, "So you into any sports? Or cars?" she asks, it sounded a little stupid but who cared. She had a curious tint to her voice and her face probably wasnt as composed as she would like for it to be.

David chuckled on the inside when she turned red. Then when she said no he smiled. I think I will ask her out later on tonight or when I see her next. "Yeah. Almost all sports except football. I don't really care for tackiling people. For cars. Yes can't wait until I save enough money for the type of car I am hoping to buy. What about you?" he asked.

[kristylearing]

Kristy smiles, "I think I have done every sport a female can do...Of course not on a team" she rolls her eyes, "Nope im an Equestrian, there my life...And cars? Well im not so good with them but I love them. I love driving at faster speeds, I would have brought my Vanquish but my parents said it would be to flashy here" she smiles. She sighs, "So what kind of car are you looking for?" she asks sweetly. She found it so easy to talk to him for some unknown reason, maybe its just because he was so sweet and warm. On the other hand she had known quite a few guys like that and it was still hard to talk to them.

David looked over at her. So, she liked to drive fast to and she had an amazing car. "Well, it would be cool to have a ferrari enzo. But, I don't have the money for that." He looked away from her and towards the beach. He watched as a guy that was surfing crashed and burned when a wave hit him from behind. He sucked ion a breath because the guy really wiped out. Then he turned and watched as a dolphin jumped out of the wave as it came crashing down. Finally, he turned back to her. "Most likely, a truck of some sort or a mustang. I have always liked those cars. Though of course I first have to get enough money to be able to keep it in good condition."

David looked at her. She really was a beautiful girl. Suddenly, he heard his phone vibrate. He looked at the text message from Seth and it said How are things going, lover boy. He chuckled as he read this. Perfectly fine. though I want to ask her out just don't know when to. He typed this as fast as he could on his Envy Touch. Then turned back to Kristy. "So, have you met anyone that you like of have you made a lot of people that you can call friends?" he looked over at her and stared at her eyes. They were the most beautiful shade of brown he had ever seen. then he awaited her answer.

Kristy nods as he shoots out cars he would like, "Hmmm I wouldnt go the Mustang route. If your going for any type of sports car you mine as well go for that Ferrari Enzo" she says, "Me personally I dont really like the Mustangs...There not that fast. Trucks are nice though, they can haul a lot" she says, "I am buying one soon so that I am able to haul my horse trailer around to shows." she says smiling. But she nods again when he talks of being able to keep it in good condition, "yeah I know what you mean...Back home with my Vanquish I was lucky enough that my foster parents would take care of any bills it needed but out here its getting a little harder" she explains.

Sighing she looked out at the water just seeing the guy fall, she had never really been surfing. She had gone 'surfing' on a cruise once but that was in a pool type thing and it was way to easy. She knew that ocean surfing was a lot harder. She smiled when she say what phone David had, she personaly had an Iphone and a Black Berry, she used her Black Berry for work purposes. But she loved the Envy Touch, her mom had one. She laughed a little but didnt know why. She smiled and blushed a little when he asked her about people she had met she nods, "yeah I have met someone I like" she says gazing into his eyes, she didnt even answer his question about people she had met that she could call friends.

David looked at her. Their eyes met. Is this the chance I was waiting for. Is she talking about me.. All these thoughts were rushing in and out of his mind he couldn't even concentrate on one of them long enough to answer it. Suddenly, he got another text message. Once again it was from Seth. Well, what are you waiting for? You guys are going to be together forever anyways. That's the ways and laws of the imprintees and their imprints. David let this thought register in his mind before answering with a short answer that would pretty much some up everything. K, I will do it sometime today. Don't text back. It's kinda weird talking to my best friend while the girl that i am madly in love with is sitting right next to me. He shut his phone as it was sending. Knowing that it would get to Seth with-in the next couple minutes.

David looked back at the Kristy. He had felt this for another girl also. But, this time it was different. It was as if he already knew everything about her and didn't need to ask her anymore questions. "So, if you don't mind telling me. Who is this guy that you like? I might know him and would probably be able to get you two together." he answered. David was so hoping that he didn't sound like he didn't like her. Of course he liked her. That's why he wanted to know who she liked. Maybe it was him.

Kristy smiled as she watched him text, he was amazingly fast. Faster than her anyway, she had never been a fast texter. Probably because she had never had the time for it. She smiled again as he shut his phone right after hitting send. She was guessing it was probably Seth but she didnt want to sound rude and ask. She sighed and looked up and was about to say something right as he started to speak.

Surprised by is outwardness she blushed a very deep red, because the guy she liked was sitting right infront of her. She laughed at his casualness with everything, he seemed a little nervous but she felt right at ease when she started to speak, she nods, "Um...I am sure you probably um know him" she says laughing at her words as she stumbles over them, "um I like the guy sitting right infront of me" she says gazing into his eyes, and for some reason she could see everything.

David looked around acting like he didn't know it was him. "You mean that guy?" He said pointing to a guy that was sitting on a towel next to a surfboard. He said this in a joking manner and was laughing himself when he said this. He looked back at her once he heard her laugh a tiny bit. "What's so funny?" He said while laughing himself. Then he rolled onto his side and propped himself up on his elbow.

"You know I was just joking right?" He asked her once again returning to his slightly serious self. "So, you like me." He looked away when he heard laughing. He turned and saw a boy that went to his school holding hands and laughing with another girl that went to his school. He wasn't close with them, but he knew them. Once they were out of sight, he turned back to Kristy. "I know this is sort of fast. But, the truth is that when I am around you, it fells like I have known you forever. So, I guess what I am trying to get at is..." He held out for a second longer. Checking to make sure that she knew where he was getting to.

Kristy rolls her eyes when he starts joking around, "nothing is funny..." she says smiling but she does look over at the guy sitting down, he was not for her. He seemed all wrong she didnt know why just the way he was sitting, "he is deffinatly not the guy" she smiles laughing again. She then sighs when he gets serious again she nods, "yes...I do like you David. I dont think I have ever met a guy like you" she says breaking off when he looks at another couple.

When he starts to speak again she looks at him a little surpirsed by what he was saying, she didnt quite understand why he had stopped. She didnt know if he wanted her to say something or what so she just sat there staring at him, and smiling. She probably looking funny but she didnt really care.

David looked at Kristy. he saw that she didn't get why he had stopped talking. So, he continued. "Well, I guess what I am trying to get at is. Do you want to be my girlfriend? I really really like you and would love it if you were to say yes." He put on a smile that looked like he was unsure of himself, yet sure of himself at the same time. He looked at his cell phone which started to vibrate again. Well, have you asked her yet? Come on dude get it over with. It was Seth again. Yes, in fact i just did. Don't know what she will say yet. Text you back when I am walking home. To give you all the info. He slapped it shut, starting to get a little annoyed with his friend.

Once it closed he turned back to Kristy. "SO?" He asked her leaving it sounding like a question as he awaited her answer. Of all the werewolves in the pack himself and Embry were the only one's who hadn't imprinted yet. Now, it was just Embry. He looked at his cell phone again as he got another text. Every time he got a text, Kristy would start to answer then stop. K ttyl. It was once again from Seth. At least that would be the last time they were interrupted.

Kristy looked up when he spoke her blush deepening to a bright crimson. She smiled as he asked her if she wanted to be his girlfriend. And of course when she was about to respond he got a text. She had to laugh and roll her eyes. She sighed and looked at the water while he responded, she did want to be his girlfriend. Of course she did, who in there right mind wouldnt. But isnt this going a bit fast. She sighed and smiled when he prompted her. She looked at him and nodded, "I would love to be your girlfriend David" she says her smiled widening. Her white teeth glistening in the sun of the afternoon.

As she looked at him her face started to hurt so she let her smile grow smaller and smaller till it was a tiny smile that looked more like a smirk. She sighed and looked at the water again, just as she was turning her head to look at the sky she got a text from a friend. She laughed and read it quickly before putting it away, it was just one of her friends from Ohio wondering how she was settleing in, and if she had met anyone yet. She would respond later.

David's eyes opened up wide and his grin got huge when he heard her say 'Yes.' He looked at her and said, "Really?! I mean I know this is a bit fast. But, really!?" He looked out towards the ocean to where the sun was setting on the side. He felt like the luckiest guy in the world. Only he didn't know if he should tell her about the secret now or wait until the beach was empty. He decided that it would be best to wait until the beach was empty. He didn't really care if he was pushing things to fast. He knew it would all work out in the end.

Jake had told him that when you imprinted, the person you imprinted on felt the same way about you, the time you first saw them and they saw you. He had hoped that was true. David was thinking that was true, because why else would she of said yes to a complete stranger. He looked down both sides of the beach. There were hardly any people here. He decided to start with the legend. "Have you ever heard of a legend about the Quiluete's around here?" He looked at her. Already getting into accidently slip it to her at one of the meeting's.

Kristy smiles when he slightly freaks out when she says yes, she nodded while he was asking her if she really meant it. Finally when he went silent she looked at the water, then to the sun and then back to David, she smiled again, "Yes David I do mean it...But you have to know. I have been hurt in the past, I have been cheated in the past. Guys have hurt me...And I dont mean just emotionally" she says, thinking of the one guy who she had to press charges agaisnt for domestic violence, she sighs and touches her leg where there was still a faint scar of where the man had smashed a lamp into her. She sighed and looked up at him again, "But the way I feel about you is un-real...I dont think I have felt this way about anyone ever" she says smiling again, "But if you hurt me...'" she says letting the rest go unsaid.

After she was speaking she answered his other question, "No I have not heard any legends..." she says smiling, she loved old legends and myths. She studied mythology when she was in high school.

David shook his head. He sort of understood what she had been through. "I would never do anything to you like that. I could never hurt someone that I like or was best friends with." He watched as she touched a scar on her lag. Since she was wearing a skirt it was easy to see it. He looked up at her. David would not ask her about that. That wold be to much. He had a feeling that she didn't want to talk about that.

When David heard that she hadn't heard of any of the legends, he got excited. This would be so cool to re-tell the story of the Quiluetes'. "Well, did you know that the Quiluetes' and the Neah Bay indians were originally decended from wolves? I'm from Neah Bay originally. The elders in this town and in Neah Bay would tell the young generation about these stories. Recently, I found out that these weren't just stories." He paused and looked at her.

Kristy smiles and nods, "I will hold you too that" she says serious though smiling, she had trust issues and with every man it got worse. She looked out at the water as the waves were rolling in and then crashing on the beach sand only about 25 yards away from where her and David perched. She took her hand from her leg and put it behind her as he begand telling her about the legands.

As she listend to what he was saying it was very interesting. She had never heard something like that before it was very weird. After he stopped she looked at him slightly bewildered, "What do you mean they werent just stories?" she asks, it was like he was trying to tell her something so obvious that it was hard to figure out.

David looked at her and her reaction. He sort of figured that she would take the news okay. Plus, there was no one on the beach. So, if she were to freak out, no one would be curious. "Yeah. A couple generations ago, a couple of the elders started showing this gene. They turned into wolves. Of course they could turn back. It was just really confusing to them. When they were running in the woods, they came across something that they called the 'cold ones'. Vampires to you." He paused for a second letting her soak it all in before starting again.

"These vampires said that they were different. They hunted animals for blood, not humans. So, we made a treaty. We wouldn't cross the line to hunt and they wouldn't cross our line to hunt. It all worked out. Then, the gene disappeared for a couple generations. Until now. Now, more people from the reservation are turning into wolves again. We think it's because more and more vamps area starting to turn up. But, me and a couple friends just love it. While some think it is a curse." He froze there. He had accidentally let it out. He was going to wait until later. He got up slowly and held out his hand to help her up. If she took it he walk over to where they usually told stories and start a fire. Otherwise, he would just stand and wait for her to get up. If she wanted to, and still trusted him.

Kristy was very confused. Had he really just told her that he turned into a wolf. She sat there in a daze, not really looking at anything in particular. She didnt know whether to be scared and run away, to laugh or to just believe him and take it in all. Insted of any of those she felt tears coming to her eyes for an unknown reason.

"Please tell me your joking" she says finally coming out of whatever trance she had been in. She stood up on her own without taking his hand. If she was serious, she would believe him but she couldnt stand being lied to either. And if he was just kidding her with something this big she didnt know what she would say or do.

David's eyes opened up wide. Crud, she had heard. I can't lie to her can I. Because then when I do tell her, she will hate me for lying to her at this time. He looked at her. "Well, I would love to say that I am. But, the truth is. Yes, I can turn into a wolf. So, can Seth and about 10 other people that I know of. Including Seth's sister. But, you can't tell anyone." He looked at her hoping with all his might that she would understand. "There is also another part of this legend."

He walked over to the fire pit and started a tiny fire. With the fire going, he sat on a log. "This other part is about how the people would basically fall in love with someone. Even if they hardly knew them. That other person would most likely be there sole-mate. They couldn't have and wouldn't have anyone else. This was called imprinting. So, far everyone in both of the pack's has imprinted. Apart from Seth's sister. She being the only female werewolf in the history of forever." He looked at her once again, before turning to stare into the fire.

[kristylearing]

Kristy had followed him to the fire and was still standing. She had a few tears coming down. She understood what he was saying she just was almost unable to comprehend it. She looked into the tiny fire for a long time, all the while tears running down her face and onto the ground. She couldnt look at him when he started talking about this imprinting stuff. She finally sat in the sand and put her head in her hands.

"So you imprinted on me?" she guessed aloud. This didnt bother her as much as the whole wolf thing did. She was in love with a werewolf and there was nothing she could do about it. The worst part was, the whole world would soon find out that she was dating someone and the last thing she wanted was reporters swarming the town and the reservation.

"David I dont know what to say...How to handle this" she sighed and finally looked up at him tear stains on her cheaks, "you cant expect me to be calm about all of this" she says, "ya know to just take it all and say...Ok so I am destined to love this one man and no one else. Oh and he is a werewolf! Great!" she says rolling her eyes. She stood up and strode away from the fire out to where the water was breaking. She started shaking her head, "why me" she muttered to herself over and over again.

David stood up and walked over next to her. "I didn't expect you to. All my friends said that their imprintees freaked out. Worse then you, I might add. But, I wasn't going to tell you for awhile. It just sorta slipped out." He looked at the waves. When Seth had told Annabell, she had freaked out. Seth had said that she also got really upset. He let out a little sigh.

"If this helps. Once the vampire population dies down around here, I'm going to try to stop turning into a wolf. Once you turn into a wolf, you stop aging. Once you stop turning into one, you start aging again." He looked at her. Wishing that she would stop crying. "If this also helps. I look pretty cool as a wolf. I mean my coat and all that," He looked at her laughing a bit. As a wolf he was a very cool shade of white. Like it was bleached white.

Kristy sighs and looks down at the ground, good so she wasnt the only one who freaked out. She sighed again and looked up at him her tears stopping. She looked up at him, "look I have had a lot of surprises in my life so it takes much more than something like this to seriously freak me out. I wouldnt even saying I am freaking out...More like taken by surprise. But I am glad you told me sooner rather than later, that...Well that would have hurt" she says smiling slightly.

She is surprised yet again when he says that he isnt aging, "your not aging?" she asks bewildered, "oh..." she says then a little sad. She smiled, "look I dont anything about this wolf changing thing...But it has to be harder to stop changing than what your making it sound...And I dont want you to be in discomfort" she says, "I really like you David..." she smiling as she jokes a little, "maybe when I am not so surprised...I will be able to see you as a wolf" she says a bright smile crossing her face.
