Emily had Claire again today while her mother was at work. She stood waiting at the window not surprised at all that it was raining. Lightning struck the sky and made it flash a bright pink color.
Emily wasn't sure who else was coming today. maybe her cousin Seth or a new pack member named David. She had made enough food for a small army any way, not knowing who might drop by at any time.
When Claire arrived Emily skipped to the door. Seeing her little niece always made her a little on the hyper side.
"Hey Clary how are you love?" Emily cooed holding out her arms for the little girl.

"Quil?" She questioned
There was a flash of light behind her curtains and she realized the growl had just been thunder.
Fighting sorrow at Quil's absence she climbed out of her crib and went down the stairs.
her mother was waiting for her.
"Don't look so sad cricket, your going to aunt Emmy's today and if I'm not mistaken Seth is going to be there." Her mother said
Claire giggled and skipped back up the stairs. She loved visiting her aunt but Seth was coming and she loved him!
After she was all ready to go her mother brought her to Emily's cottage.
She had a pale pink raincoat on and matching little rain boots.
The boots were a little big and when she ran it was hysterical, she had to waddle in order to keep the boots on her little feet.
"I dressed you in Lily''s boots again." her mother sighed
Claire ignored her mom because waiting at the door was her aunt Emmy.
"Aunt Emmy!" She cried throwing her little body into her aunts open arms
"Claire happy. Seth come?" She asked
her speech was still developing so some things she said were strange.

Seth had been invited to come and see Claire and Emily. He hadn't seen either of them in awhile. But, first he had to get David. He was invited to. Though he didn't know about it. It was going to be a surprise for him. So, Seth walked out his house and into the backyard. Where he morphed into his wolf shape. He then jogged at a brisk pace to David's house. Where he waited for David out in the woods. Once David caught up with him they took off towards Emily's house.
Once they got within a couple houses of it, they morphed back into humans and got dressed. Seth walked up the steps and into the house. Once he saw Claire he picked her up. "Hey, nice to see you again Emily and you to Claire. This is David, he's the newbie to Sam's pack." He beckoned David inside.

David had gotten a call from Seth in the morning that had said to meet him out front in the woods. So, David was waiting out there in his human form when Seth arrived in his wolf. David quickly morphed into a wolf and took off after him. Seth wasn't telling him anything. So, when Seth stopped and morphed back into a human, David did the same thing. They both walked out of the woods and to the front door of a house. Once inside the house David stopped right inside the door.
This house was beautiful. The only people he saw were Seth, a little girl that Seth picked up, and an older girl that looked to be about 20. Seth said there names and automatically assumed that the older one was Emily and the younger one was Claire. Once Seth introduced David and beckoned him forward, David walked in. He stopped once he was to the right of Seth. "Hello." Was all he said. He was almost always nervous when meeting someone new.

She loved Seth because he always took the time to say hello to her too and he never even hesitated before scooping her up into his arms.
While Seth said hi to her aunt Emmy, Claire looked at the other boy who had come inside. He seemed nice enough and if Seth liked him he must be a good person.
"Ellow Seth." Claire answered with a little laugh.
She peeked at David again and gave him a little wave with her fingers.
"Me Claire. " She said to him, a shy smile lighting her face.

Emily beamed at Seth. He was one of the few who still felt comfortable enough just walking into the house. When he picked up Claire Emily's smile only grew, her little niece loved Seth.
"Hello Seth I'm so glad you could come!" Emily said going over to hug her cousin.
When Seth introduced David, Emily turned to him with a huge smile on her face.
"I'm so sorry I haven't had you over yet David." She began, "Sam's been busy lately and he only just told me there were new members in the pack."
She felt truly awful. When the others had joined the pack Emily had them over right away, once you were in the pack you were family in her eyes.
"Any way it's lovely to meet you. Won't you come in? Theres no reason to be shy." She was already becoming her hostess self and inviting them all further into the house.
"I made these new blueberry tarts, and theres some white chocolate chip cookies here. Would you like anything to drink?" She asked then stopped fussing and sighed.
"Sorry once I get started it's difficult to stop." She explained with a small laugh
She turned to Seth for a moment and smiled,
"How's Jake doing, and Quil, Embry and Leah?" She questioned, "I haven't seen any of you in awhile." she added, she ducked her head to hide the small frown that came across her face then looked back up at her cousin. She doubted the duck and hide thing worked, Seth had known her his whole life and he probably remembered thats what she did to hide how she felt sometimes.

When David saw the little girl wave to him and introduce herself, he waved back. She was really cute, in that little kid sorta way. She also looked so innocent. When, the older girl started introducing herself, he looked up from Claire to Emily. Then, he walked further into the house. This house was magnificent. It was beautiful, spacious, and looked like a person with a lot of money had put a lot of work into it. He had never really been in Sams house before.
He followed her into what he thought was the kitchen. His shy self disappeared once he saw the food. He walked over to the blueberry tarts and tried one. They were delicious. After trying those, he walked over to the cookies. They were also great. "These are the best cookies and tarts I have ever tasted ever since..." He stopped there. He really didn't want to go into his past right now. He looked at Seth and instantly he knew what he meant.

Seth gave Emily a hug back. "It's good to see you again, too." Seth watched as his friend moved his shyness away. He was always like that. Shy until the mention of food. He chuckled a little at this. He followed Emily and his friend into the kitchen. He couldn't believe this house. Every time he came here, it seemed to get bigger. Seth also sampled the cookies and tarts. When David told Em how good they were, he shook his head. Totally agreeing with him. Then when David ran off his sentence with-out finishing Seth looked at him. Once he gave Seth the 'don't want to go there again' look Seth gave a quick nod.
When Emily started talking Seth turned towards her, to show that he was all ears. "We are all doing great. So far, everyone apart from Leah has imprinted." Once Emily ducked her head, Seth knew immediately what she was doing. She had always done that to hide a frown. "What's wrong? Talk to me. We are all family. In some sorta way." He said laughing when he said the family part.

Emily smiled as David commented on her cooking. She spent a lot of time at it trying to make her little family happy and when they enjoyed what she made it drew a smile to her face.
"Thank you, I'm glad you like them. I can package some up for you to take home as well if you'd like." Em offered
She didn't comment on the unfinished sentence, she was always there to help with anything but she never wanted to push people to talk.
"Of course we are." Emily said, answering Seth's comment about how they were all family.
She sighed and placed her elbows on the counter, leaning against it.
Then she gave them a half smile,
"It's not any big deal." she said trying to dismiss the worry, "I just miss you all." She answered
What she said was the truth, but it was just the beginning really. It was getting difficult to be around Sam recently. He was still harboring a hatred for Jake and his pack and Emily was tired of fighting with him about it.
"Would you like to sit?" She asked, pointing to a few comfortable chairs in a little den off the kitchen.

Seth pulled out a chair with his one free hand. When sitting down, he looked at Claire. "Do you want your own chair or do you want to sit on my lap?" He looked at the little girl. She seemed to be thinking. While she made up her mind, Seth looked at Em. "Where has Sam been? I haven't seen him in like years." He chuckled slightly at this. He thought this was funny since he had only been out of Sam's pack for a couple months. But, when you are running the perimeter, you get confused between what day it was. Jake was so obsessed with Renesmee's safety that they basically got no rest.
Once he was done saying this, he looked over at David. He had seated himself next to the food. Just like him. Where ever there was food, David was there. He loved to eat. The sad part about that, was he never gained weight at all. He always stayed the same.

David had seated himself right next to the food. He laughed as Seth looked over at him and shook his head. He grabbed another blueberry tart and ate it. Claire was looking like she was thinking up and answer to a really hard question. David wasn't really good at reading little kids expressions. But, she looked sorta confused. But, heck, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between confused and frustrated right now.
When Seth asked the question about Sam, David looked up. He had been wondering the same thing. He was in Sam's pack, but hadn't heard from him in days. Since he didn't know Em before now, he wouldn't of been able to ask. "Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing."

Emily laughed as Seth asked Claire where she'd rather be. Claire was a cuddly little thing so if Seth didn't want to hold her Emily would take her.
When Seth asked the question she had been hoping to avoid she began to rearrange more cookies on a tray. She sighed and looked up at Seth she smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. Then she dropped the smile all together and sat down again.
"Sam's been...difficult lately." Emily said looking between Seth and David.
"At first he was just really over protective of me. he was angry with Jake and refused to let me see him. When he realized that keeping me from you, Jake and Leah was pushing me away he just gave up and left. He leaves a lot lately. I've seen him sometimes but he's distant." Emily stopped for a moment and rested her head in her hands. It was so hard. She loved Sam and having him angry and never around tore at her heart but she would not give up the ones she loved for him. Emily was his forever, but she would be forever connected to all the wolves, and imprintees as well.
"I don't know where he is." She finally responded
She felt the scars on her cheek and sighed, "I'm not afraid he'd hurt me though. Sam would never intentionally hurt me. I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. Please he's just in pain right now, he seems angry but hes just hurt. Don't give up on him. He's going to need every one when he realizes he was wrong. He will torture himself if he realizes that he's pushed you away for no reason at all. He blames himself for everything. Frustrating man." She whispered the last part but with but Seth and David being wolves she knew they'd hear.

Seth got up and put little Claire in the chair. He held a finger up to her, like saying 1 minute. He walked over to Em and put his arm around her. "It'll be ok. He will come round eventually and when he does, I will tell him there are no hard feelings from me. Don't know if he will be that lucky to get that from Jake and Leah though." He took his arm off, from around her shoulders. Then walked back over to his chair and picked Claire up, again. This time he set her on his lap.
"So, going to happier note. When was the last time you threw a party with your delicious baking?" He put on a smile that he hoped she would love. It was a smile that used to bring a smile to her face a long time ago. He noticed that she was being a little more reserved now. But, he still loved her all the same.

Emily felt bad letting this all out on her cousin, she hadn't even told Rachael what was going on, and those two told each other almost everything.
When Seth put his arm around her, she sighed and calmed down a little.
"I don't think Jake is very happy," Emily said frowning, "I don't expect any of you to do that, but I really appreciate it Seth."
Emily wasn't going to talk about Leah. When Leah phased for the first time Emily had cried for her. What had she done to deserve to be in Sam's head constantly? She had felt more disgusted with herself than ever before. Now though, she was free. She could actually try to enjoy being a wolf if she wished it. That was another reason why Emily wasn't upset with Jake. She wouldn't have been anyway. She loved him, Seth, Leah, Embry and Quil far too much to be angry over something as necessary as this.
When Seth smiled, Emily felt a weight lift inside her. When he pulled out that grin, things were okay in the world and Emily's own face light up with a grin as well.
"I've been trying some new recipes maybe it's time to have another party. I miss cooking for you all. It would be wonderful, with so many new pack members." Emily said with a smile for David.
She really did miss it, cooking for them all. It had been an every day event and now she only got a visitor here and there. She'd been watching Claire more often than normal to fight of the loneliness. Emily was a very social person and although she liked her space at times, nothing made her happier than spending time with her family.

David had been sitting in the chair just relaxing and listening. It wasn't really for him to talk it seemed. So, when the plate of cookies was gone, he started on the tarts. Her cookies and tarts were delicious. "So, you think Sam will be back soon though. Because I don't know about the others, but I need a leader. If someone doesn't come soon, I might go to Jake's. I am not always gonna listen to the Beta of the pack, I want to listen to the alpha." He looked at Seth, not knowing if he said to much or not. He sat back in the chair and ate another tart. He really didn't know what else to say. He didn't really know Emily like Seth did.

Emily frowned what David was saying made scense but she hadn't heard from Sam in awhile. She literally had no idea when he was coming back. The thought made her sick to her stomach and she had a difficult time responding to David.
"Unfortunately you know more than I do, when you phase don't you hear him?" Emily asked almost begging him to say yes. She didn't know how far away Sam was or how far away the mind speaking worked but she hoped that someone knew where Sam was and that he was safe.

Seth looked at David, David was finally coming out of his shell. Seth thought. But, as soon as he thought that, David shut up again. Spoke too soon. Seth got up and put Claire in the chair. All this time she had been silent, he wondered what she was going to do once he did that. BUt, he really had to go to the bathroom. "I'll be right back." He said as he got up and went down the hall.
Seth took a long time, because he wanted to push David's limits. But, after a couple minutes he walked back into the kitchen and reached for a glass of water. Which he chugged very easily. He nodded to Em and David as a sign to continue.

 As Seth set her down in the chair she sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes for a moment before looking around the room. It was strange to go to sleep in one place and then end up in another but such was the life of a child.
She searched through the people left in the room.
Her aunt Emmy was there and...Claire couldn't remember the other boys name. She was young and things like that had to be told to her a couple times before they stuck.
"Seth go home?" She asked, pouting a little.
She liked Seth a lot, he was rather playful and Claire had fun with him.
She looked at the other boy for a moment, did he like to play too?
She could read his uncomfortable expression, she thought he looked lonely. So she scooted carefully off the couch and waddled over to him. She placed one little hand on his knee and giggled.
Then she got on the couch and sat next to him, where Seth had been moments before.
She wasn't absurdly close like she usually would have been if she knew you better but she was sitting there, so he wouldn't be alone.
She played with the ends of her hair and then went to put the end of it into her mouth.
She automatically looked up at the boy as she did so, any body else would have pulled her hand away from her mouth, telling her no with out even stopping for a break in the conversation. Claire had a bad habit of chewing on the end of her hair. Even though she'd been told not to do so multiple times.

Seth came in and saw little Claire sitting next to David. So, he walked out of the room and just looked around the house. He would give David a little bit of time with them. I'm sure that Emily would like to talk one-on-one to David about Sam. Seth thought. He walked down the hallway into an open bedroom. It was Claire's room. You could tell from the paint on the wall and all the little toys laying on the floor. Seth picked up one toy that looked pretty damaged. Caring it carefully, he sneaked out the backdoor and into his car. The rain was coming down a little bit harder now.
Automatically, Seth set to work fixing the little toy. Of course, the ignition was on i his little truck, with the radio and heat on. Seth had the tool-box on the seat next to him, that his dad had told him to keep in his truck at all times. You never knew when you could use something like It. After a couple minutes, Seth finally finished the toy. It looked brand new. Turning his car off and getting out, he ran indoors and locked it fro the inside of the house. He put the toy back in Claire's room and started cleaning her room.

David looked at Seth as he got up and went to the bathroom. He knew that Seth was just testing him to see how long he could last without him. He would just continue eating and drinking until Seth came back. While Seth was gone, the room was awkwardly silent. Then David heard Seth start coming back
When Seth nodded to him, David looked at Em and started to talk. "Well I've heard little snips, but I..." David stopped there as he saw little Claire get up from a nap. The little girl looked around innocently as if trying to find someone. After a couple seconds she got up and came and sat over next to him. He watched as she took a strand of her hair and started chewing on it, then looked up at him. "Are you supposed to be chewing on you hair?" He asked her before taking the stand out of her mouth. As soon as her hand was away from her mouth, he started tickling her.

Emily watched as Seth put Claire down on her own chair. She smiled lightly, the girl would wake up soon. She was a cuddlier and now she was alone. She turned to David as he began to talk to her, but both were distracted as Claire got up and looked around the room. Emily was about to call out to her, but then she got up and made her way over to David. Although he seemed shy at first he was just wonderful with Claire and that had Emily beaming.
"Yeah she really isn't suppose to chew on her hair. Right Claire." Emily said giving Claire that 'mommy' look.
She smiled as David tickled Claire and it calmed her down a bit. She was surprised at how much tension she was feeling with Sam gone. This felt good, normal.
