Maria never read books, in fact she couldn't read at all. Reading was a human thing and Maria never wasted time on human things. She never used or gave a last name. She could barely recall it. Vampire never forgot, but Maria tried to forget. She never used this human money thing, nor the digital things they seemed to treasure so badly.
So it was with this, that Maria left Jasper were he was, and went to get answers after coming across a painting and one drawing made by some painter from the early 1800's. Maria's human memories were weak, she could tell her (if she wanted to) some small details of her life. She could recall images, or events, even some rare feelings from her human years.
So when Maria was following Jasper, trying to annoy him in to a reaction, and came across a painting, and a drawing of a human looking woman, a human looking Maria, she became angry.
It was not the shock of finding her human life on display, in one of Aro's halls, it was having everyone able to see it that enraged Maria. It was they fact that somehow, Aro and others knew about a part of her that even she did not know.
Maria walk stalking around what was one of the oddest rooms she had ever seen. It had couches, and odd lights. The woman had called it a waiting room. The woman, the HUMAN Gianna. Maria had stormed into this area of the Volturi's home, having smelled the human and then told her to go tell Aro that Maria wanted to speak to him, ALONE!
Maria knew Aro would read Gianna's mind. He would see Maria's anger, and hear her words hissed out.

It seemed everything at the ball was going smoothly. There hadn't been to much trouble. Perhaps a little disagreement here or there, but nothing serious. And of course Aro spotted several talents he wanted. The Cullen's had come which pleased Aro greatly. He had to be a bit careful with his thoughts. He couldn't be planning like he usually would. Edward would pick up his thoughts, but perhaps he was more interested in what his family was doing. Nevertheless, Aro was going to be careful. He was not going to plan on how to gain what he wanted. Well at least not he Cullen's. Aro's eyes scanned the crowded room his eyes searching for vampires he had met before. Talents he wanted. Talents he would gain.
Aro smiled as he spotted Gianna she was very good at her job. Her scent no doubt made other vampires throat burn, even Aro's, but it was nothing unmanageable. Perhaps they would change, then again they may not. It all just depended on how useful she could be. If she became to much trouble she would be used to sustain them. It wouldn't be to much of a loss. There were countless humans hat could replace her or they could even use a vampire. Either way if she lived or died she had been of use and did her job dutifully. Aro simply touched her her hand lightly able to know exactly she wanted. Aro smiled it seemed Maria was a bit upset how unfortunate.
Aro made his way out of the ball room Gianna following quietly behind him. Quickly returning to her desk she was assigned to make it seem like they had other purposes than ruling the immortal world. Aro smiled brightly as he spotted Maria. "Ah, Maria my dear," Aro said his voice sweet. He wonder if he would get a chance to read her thoughts today perhaps even destroy her, but did he want to? She brought much amusement. It would be a shame to destroy her after all she always seem to challenge him. Always evading his touch preventing him from knowing her secrets. "You wish to speak with me?" Aro questioend. He knew very well she wanted to talk to him alone, but did she honestly expect that to happen? There were a couple guard with him at all time and even more so when they were surrounded by vampires. While none would be foolish to attack they needed to be careful.

"Aro," She said as she gritted her teeth, and the next word came out as as slight hiss. "Dearest." She forced a smile on her face but it looked hostel. "I was just touring your art collection. You'll never guess what I happened to come across!" However Maria was assuming he already knew. Maria glanced at his guard who looked less then pleased at the tones she was using and--for her own safely--she tried to make her voice and face seem more relaxed but it was an hard effort.
She wanted to kill Aro for this, even though she didn't know what this was for sure yet. She only knew of the possibility of this. That someone maybe he had paintings of a human who looked liked her. One might be her, for the drawing the dates were correct but the other was not! She had been immortal and had her first army at the time the painting had been done. Whoever this painter was, better be dead, or Maria would kill him her self!

[[Wow, this seems short. Hmm maybe the group threads took all my muse for the moment.]]
Aro smiled calmly at Maria as she seemed to hiss that she had seen his little art gallery. Aro tried to figure out what it was the upset her so deeply. His collection was fairly large Aro didn't really pay that much attention to the paintings just as long as they were valuable, rare he would have them. He simply loved collecting rare items. And paintings happen to be just one of them. "It is quiet a valuable collection. As you know I love collecting rare items." His guard were his most valuable 'collection' he had. He would settle for nothing but the best. Aro was still uncertain what seemed to upset Maria so deeply. Maria had better be careful. After all she was in his castle, his city. Aro was pleased to see her appear to calm down slightly.
Aro thought about his little collection trying to pin point something would upset young Maria so. There was a drawing that seemed to resemble Maria slightly. It had seemed familiar, but he hadn't really cared. As long as it was valuable. It was rare and was at a high price why wouldn't he gain it? "Care to tell dear? What it is that you found?" Aro questioned even though he was certain of the answer. He could be quiet mistaken, but he had his doubts.

Did he really not know? Maria wondered how he could not know, her and Jasper had been stunned into silence at the sight of the painting, and drawing. Unless Aro collected things and did not look at them, but Maria took him for the type to like to handle things like this personally. "I was rephering to the art you have collected by Nicolao Verdugo." She said in a quite tone, that while was free of anger and a hiss had a tone that suggested both were just repressed. Maria knew better then to have such open displays but she for once found this hard to hold back.
"I find my self curious, Aro Dearest as to how you have such things in your collection." Maria said in the same tone, "And if you know of the histories behind such works." Mainly she wanted to know if her weaker human side was hidden. Maria wasn't sure why it mattered, it shouldn't matter to her. She should careless of her human life and just laugh amused someone would go to such lengths in her name. She could however, not remember anything about her human life other then this one emotion and need to hide it. She was not going to have Aro touch her to see what he could see either.

[[I'm just making up one of the times Aro came across Maria. Maybe the last time? If not I can change it.]]
Aro smiled at Maria. "Ah, yes Nicolao Verdugo his art is very valuable. Rare. Unique." Those were reasons enough to have his collection in his castle. Aro wanted the most valuable items and he had succeed for the most part. There were countless pieces of work he had. Even objects and items that were priceless. Some very ancient from Aro's own time though those were very rare indeed. Another reason to collect such items.
Aro smiled he hadn't intended to come across the art work, but it had been well worth it. "During one of my trips to the South I happen to come across a very rare and expensive art work." It had actually been one of the trips Aro had come across Maria. When Jasper had left her if he was not mistaken. He had made several trips to the South to ensure their rules were enforced. That was in fact one of the last times he had come to the south. "It has been quiet some time since I've had to come 'visit' the South. I assume everything is fine. No reason for any unnecessary visits is there?" Aro questioned curiously. He wouldn't mind making another visit destroying a few vampires and their armies. Of course they had not drew to much attention to so there should be no reason for him to come.
