[/size][/color] It never ceased to amaze her the power that Paul Moran had over her. He had the power, with one bright smile to make her world perfect. With one wink, or joke he could bring the universe back from the brink of destruction. And with one, OH SO WONDERFUL touch, he could make her blush and her body sing!
And he still had the power to break her heart.
Her heart was not broken, in the litter since, she knew they could get past this and with time things would be sun shine and rainbows. But in this moment, it felt like her heart was breaking. Which was why, she was going to Emily's. She needed someone to be excited with her, and to laugh with her. Paul was in shock, and ever since she told him, they had not spoken. She could tell he was stressed and worried. Which made her wonder. . . .
Did Paul even want to be a father?

Emily heard a knock at the door she wiped her hands on a kitchen towel and skidding across the kitchen floor reached for the door knob.
"Ah Rachael lovely to see you!" Em cried smiling at her friend.
She reached out and held the door open so Rachael could come inside.

[/size][/color] Rachael gave Emily a smile, one that didn't quite meet her eyes, and come in. "I hope I am not bothering you. I just wanted to get out of the house for a little bit." She said, wanting to make sure they were alone before she told Emily. "Is Sam here?" She wasn't as frighten as Sam as she used to be, but for something like this she wanted it 'just girls'. . . Maybe she should tell Sam and send him after Paul? Paul was worrying Rachael. Which seem to be how they worked. There was always drama with the Morans. Emily felt like something was wrong, the smile Rachael gave her didn't seem so happy.
"No Sam's out." Emily replied, "He's still mad at me for having Jake over for lunch." She sighed
"I'm glad you came actually it's been pretty quite around here lately and I'm lonely." She half smiled at Rachael
"Shall we sit? Are you hungry at all? I made eclairs!" Em couldn't help but do the hostess thing she loved it.
"I'm doing alright, you know hanging in there." Emily replied, "How are you? I haven't heard from you in awhile. i missed talking to you." Emily half smiled at Rachael reaching back and pulling her long hair into a pony tail.

[/size][/color] Oh! Comfort food! Rachael's smile was a little brighter this time. "I would love some!" She did have a weakness for food. You could see that in the roundness of her face, but she wasn't fat. Paul loved her just the way she was. (Or was pre-baby). "I sort of ran away from my house. I thought I could hide out here for a little bit of you don't mind. I can help you bake or cook, or clean and dishes!"
Rachael was planning to tell Emily about the babies, but she didn't want them to be the first things out of her mouth today. "I am fine, no worries about me." "Oh good! They turned out nice." Emily went into the kitchen and brought out the whole platter.
"Oh no, no dishes to do, it's been quite, I've been doing everything." She replied, she looked around at the too clean house and it made her stomach hurt a little.
"Would you like to bake something? I always love cooking." Emily laughed
She wondered if Rachael, like her, wanted something to do with her hands, to distract her.
"Your fine." Emily replied testing it out, it sounded wrong but she didn't want to push it, "Ok." She said taking an eclair, squishing out some frosting and putting her frosted finger into her mouth.

[/size][/color] "Sure, I can help you bake something. I am sure the boys will eat everything right on up." Rachael watched Emily for a moment before she continued. "Do you know where Sam is today?" Rachael wanted to ask Sam to check on Paul but she knew that would raise alarms up, since she wasn't ready for the whole pack to know about the babies yet.
"I have some big news." Rachael walked closer to the stove and baking area as she spoke, trying to keep her hands busy. Emily frowned, "I actually don't know where he is." She went into the kitchen with Rachael and pulled out a cook book, "I expect out with Jared and maybe Paul?" Emily questioned
She started to flip through the cook book and then handed it over to Rachael, letting her decide what to make.
"Oh big news? Is everything alright?" Emily asked hoping that the news was good, but knowing in the pack that it wasn't usually such news.

[/size][/color] Rachael took the cook book and looked at it with out seeing what was on the page. "Oh, you know. This and that. . . . I went to the doctor's yesterday. I was feeling sort of off and tired lately, and well . . " One photo stood out and she sat the book down so they could make it. It wasn't the food she was looking at but the happy twin boys looking down at the cupcakes with anticipation. Cup cakes were good eaten. "I'm pregnant." There. It was out! Emily froze staring at Racheal.
It was only a moment before she jumped at racheal and inclosed her friend in a hug.
"Oh Racheal, thats fantastic! Oh wow a baby thats exactly what we need around here, more children. Oh your so lucky! I can't wait to have children you know. Oh I can help you any time you want. I have twin nieces you know so I can help with diapers, feedings, oh how exciting! Oh wow I'll get you cute little outfits and oh my Racheal a baby how wonderful!" Emily couldn't help but babble, she didn't usually but babies brought out the extreme happiness that was pushed down with worry most days.
She pushed back Racheals's hair and kissed her cheek.
"Are you feeling alright? Any morning sickness?" She asked
Emily stopped her fussing and frowned
"Somethings not right, whats wrong?" She asked turning to face Racheal with worried written all over her face.

[/size][/color] Rachael gave a worried but honest smile. "I am excited, and Oh Emmy I will need your help so!" Rachael hugged her back, tightly. "I thought of you and yours twin girls in your family. . . . I'm having twins too!" She went ahead and blurted out! She was glad someone was excited for her.
"Paul is so stressed out, and I have not told him about the twin part. He freaked out Emily!" Rachael begin to cry, "He was talking funny, and I was so worried! He repeated things and just sat there looking so lost and down! It was horrible, and I was so frightened! Do you think Sam can try to find him and talk to him? I didn't know what to think! Emily practically jumped in the air when Rach told her she was having twins.
"Oh twins! Thats wonderful! I mean it's a lot of work but a blessing. Such an amazing gift!" Emily cried
"Oh I'll help whenever you need me Rach, with anything. I can cook you all dinners, or fold laundry. Anything you need." Emily was thrilled for her friend.
When Rachael began to cry Emily pulled her over toward the couch, held her arms and looked her in the eye.
"Rach, honey thats normal. The guys always take longer to get used to new things. Shhhhh don't cry, you have to stay strong for them, your babies. If Paul decides hes not ready, I'll help you but listen I've known him for a long time he will come around. He's great with kids you know. He's so sweet to my little niece Claire. Theres no reason to not be excited, do not let him take that away from you. Don't be afraid Rachael, have faith. Paul is going to love those children, he'll be a great dad." Emily tried to stay calm and reassure her friend. She thought she might have done an okay job. Her skin felt like she had a fever, her body temperature always got hotter when she was angry. how could he! How could Paul be so selfish? Oh she would call Sam, he'd have something to say to knock Paul back into his senses. What Emily said about Paul was true, he was probably scared and worried and everything it was only natural but running out on her like that? When she was already worried and fragile and pregnant. It made Emily furious.
She pulled Rachael into another hug and slid her hand over her hair.
"Everything will work out, It's okay. " She whispered
Emily went to the fridge and pulled out a plate of small sandwiches. She placed them on the little coffee table in front of Rachael.
"I'm just going to call Sam real quick." She said stepping out of hearing range but still in Rachael's view.
The phone rang twice before Sam picked it up.
"Sam it's Em. Listen Paul's out there somewhere and I don't know if you knew this or not but Rachael is pregnant. Paul's really worried, but he has no right to scare her like this. Can you talk to him please? I have to go shes here right now but I'd really appreciate it if you talked to him. Thank you, I love you forever my Sam."
She was smiling at the end realizing that she hadn't even given him a second to reply. She went back to Rachael and sat down next to her.
"Sam should find him, he's good at this stuff. Being leader of a pack he has to be."
Emily picked up one of the sandwiched and took a bite. Yum it was nothing high class, just a PB&J but she loved it. It reminded her of her childhood.
"How about more happy news, when are you due?" Em asked smiling, babies were a fun subject.
"Do you have any names picked out." After she asked that question she felt kind of bad. With Paul acting like a psycho, she probably hadn't had time to just relax and think of names. "I've had names I've loved since I was a little girl. Although I think I'll drop Princess." She tried to fix the situation and even make Rachael laugh. Unfortunately when she was six, Emily had told every one she knew that her first daughter was going to be named Princess. It made her laugh, thinking about it now.

[/size][/color] Rachael was very glad that Emily was happy for her. It made things seem more hopeful. Paul had worried her so much! "Thank you," Rachael said when Emily called Sam for her. She wasn't crying as hard now, her voice was calm but she still had tears on her cheeks. "Late September sometime, is when I am due. I don't know the excate date. I have it written down at home but I was in a mild shock when they told me." Rachael gave Emily a small smile. "And I don't have any names picked out. I haven't even have time think past dealing with Paul. I am just so worried that he didn't want to be a father. Not yet."
"As for your help you offered, I will take some of it, if you will agree to be the babies god-mother." Rachael asked then smiled brighter, her natural hopefulness and positive thinking pushing away some of the doubt while here, warm and safe in Emily's kitchen. "Oh, Emily! Please say yes! She smiled at Rachael, it wasn't a surprised that she had been shocked. IF Emily herself had found out she was having twins, she would be shocked too.
"Don't worry about it Rach, Sam will talk to Paul. He'll come around." She tried a reassuring smile
When Rachael said the word God-mother Emily felt her eyes instantly well up. She was an emotional sort and the fact that Rachael felt so close to her that she'd ask something so precious made her feel overwhelming joy.
"Oh Rach thats so sweet! Of course I'll be there God-mother, nothing would make me happier." She leaned forward and hugged her friend a huge smile on her face. "Your my closest friend Rach, I don't know what I'd do with out you." She told her

[/size][/color] Since Rachael knew the story behind Emily and Leah, and how Emily clung so hard to the friendship she once had with Leah; being called Emily's closest friend both made Rachael happy for her self (She was glad Emily felt the same) and glad for Emily, maybe, just maybe her friend was moving on? "I feel the same Emily! Oh! I am so glad I came here! I was so stressed out before but you always help me see things clearer!" She hugged Emily again. "You going to have to help me learn to good more foods too." She laughed, "I want my kids to have all kinds of wonderful things."

Emily grinned,
"Well I try to help." She said with a short giggle.
When Rach hugged her again Emily hugged her back laughing a little because she was so excited.
"Of course! You know I love to cook Rach, I'll show you whatever you want." Em promised She tapped her box of original recipes "Eve these!" She said laughing.
"Awwww Rach your going to make a great mom with that mind set. Although your kids are going to be little princes or princesses all the way." Em said
"Girls are great Rach but they could be boys. They could be boys and be fine or they could phase too. It's hard I'm sure but it can't be that bad of a thing. Look at how happy Sam and Paul are. I think they are proud to be a wolf." Emily said, expanded as thought about it.
"I would want a girl too though. I want at least one." Emily admitted.

"They have to try to hard no to hurt us, I've heard stories, of how Paul was before he imprinted. I've seen how angry he can be, the weight on his back when the vampires came to kill everyone over Nessie. . . . It's almost to much to ask of a teenager, and I don't want that from my sons." Emily saw Rachael look at the scars on her face and she sighed knowing where this was going.
"I understand completely Rach, but it's going to be your child's choice as well, and Paul's. I would just hope for healthy babies right now. Look at Leah, she is a girl and she has phased. Concentrate on whats happening now. Let's be more excited! Your going to have to let me throw you a baby shower!" Emily beamed, she adored throwing parties and this reason was an amazing reason to throw one.
Babies were to be celebrated. Rachael had double the reasons to be happy.
