Maria waited in her 'rooms' for her worthless pet, to bring Jasper Whitlock to her. Jasspppeerrr. Maria smiled. He was showing promise. Allot of promise, and she was going to use him as best as she could. Starting off right now, with this task she was summoning him for.
Maria lounged back on one of the humans' day beds, that looked like a couch cut off in the middle. On her floor near by was a human, sitting very still has Maria ran her fingers though his hair. "Hush little baby, don't say a word." She sang in her voice, it surprisingly soft. "Mama's going to give you to her pet."
Hearing the foot steps getting closer, Maria smiled brighter. "And if that pet pet dose a good job." She sang knowing them could hear her, "Mama's going to reward him all day long."

"Maria wants to see you."
Those were the only words Jasper needed to hear to gain his full attention. He had been preoccupied talking to other newborns, but the fact that Maria wanted to speak to him in private . . . meant that she had something to give him. He followed one of her many minions, keeping a straight face, and a very formal posture. It had been a few months now since he had first met Maria, and he was getting more and more comfortable in his new residence. His newborn strength was more in his control now, though it was still rampant.
Getting closer to her chambers, he heard her cooing voice, singing a song to a human, and Jasper knew that for a fact for he could smell the blood from miles away. His senses were heightened, especially were his next meal was concerned. Well, what he hoped to be his next meal.
Her minion who summoned him opened the door and Jasper walked right in. He was in the middle, between the bed and the door. He kept all his attention on Maria; he knew she liked that. "You called," he said in an emotionless voice.

Maria didn't acknowledge them. Her minion who had summoned Jasper, Rubin, was a year and four months old. He was losing the newborn power she needed, and having more trouble doing the job she demand. Rubin, moved to stand quickly between Maria and Jasper, with his back to Maria as if to guard her.
Maria just keep humming her little song to the human. At the end of the first round, she leaned down, and let her teeth graze the skin. The human tired to jerk away but couldn't in her stone grip. Her fingers, tore open his neck a little, so the smell of blood would fill the room.
Then standing, she walked over to Rubin, and took his hand, leading him to the blocked off window, by the fire place where she had candles lit. It was easy to see that Rubin was -still- learning to control him self with the smell of blood.
Maria spoke to Rubin as if Jasper wasn't in the room. Her mood was high, excited at the changes coming. "My pet, I had almost grown used to patterns my armies took. The swell of newborns, the endless fighting, as they killed each other off before I could use them how I needed." Maria's smiled was bright to match her mood. "Do you know what changed?"
Maria turned her back to Rubin and he looked annoyed at being dismissed as such. Her eyes were no on Jasper, eve if her words suggested she was still speaking to Rubin. "A soldier entered out mist." Her eyes trailed over Jasper, "One who used more then his strength, to cause change in my army. They are working in ways I have never seen before, and I find my self more and more impressed. . . . With your lack of having done this your self!" She glanced over her shoulder at Rubin. He looked upset by her words and not in a sad way. More in the he felt angry she would speak to him like this, since he had done everything he ever asked of him.

Jasper was listening attentively, though he made no move when she did. The smell of blood filled the air, more so than it had before because now the red substance was exposed. But Jasper had not been ordered to do anything. His ability to comply was perhaps why Maria was so impressed with him . . . and he would do nothing to tarnish is reputation with her. But it was an uncomfortable feeling, to be so close to something so delicious. He kept his feet firmly in place, he looked straight ahead, and he folded his hands behind him. He was a soldier. Before, he had been a soldier fighting in the Civil War; now, he was a soldier fighting for Maria. He would remain a soldier for a long time.
Her words were suggestive, that he had been the one to make the other look bad, and he held back a smile. The distraction of their conversation was making the human's presence more bearable . . . only a little though. Jasper was trying not to break under the pressure. If she allowed him to, he would enjoy the snack, but until then . . . he would remain stationary. He would not even breath. He just listened to what her and Rubin were discussing.
He could feel the anger from him, when she was talking about his incompetence. Jasper was still pleased with himself. If only Rubin could feel what Jasper was, how it would irritate the vampire even more. The anger was dangerous though. It was getting stronger and stronger, and Jasper knew he would become defensive. This made Jasper on guard. He now looked at Rubin and Maria, remaining still an maintaining the constant expressionless look on his face. This, he used to his advantage for it would deem him unpredictable. He was however going to guard Maria, and so . . . with the possible attack on the way, he remained cautious, ready to move at the first indication that he would attempt to harm Maria. She was after all his master, and he was but a loyal follower.

Maria keep her back to Rubin, as the scent of blood was quickly filling the room and draining from the human. She watched the young vampire before her had managed to bring her army to new levels. "My dearest, Rubin," She was still not speaking to Jasper, "I would never have known you were lacking everything I needed, Rubin had I not found the soldier. Now I can not stand your weakness. I am building an army to gain power and blood rights, and my weakest link can not be my general."
The next few things happened in almost a single second. Rubin, feel into a crouch, and hearing the air move the left corner of Maria's lips went up in a deadly half smile, as her weight shifted to her right, closer to a candle. She was no fool, if Jasper failed, she would have to handle them both. Kill them both. "I have no choice but to replace you." She said in a whisper that everyone but the human could hear, and as the word left her lips, Rubin started his lunge to her.

Her next words were imperative to the conversation, for it would determine how Rubin wished to suffer his demise. He could run, accept it gracefully, or . . . be the one to initiate the attack. He chose the latter, and Jasper knew he would have to act quickly. He managed to force away the scent of the blood, so that he would be able to control his actions and not act blindly, distracted by the divine smell of the most tempting meal a vampire could ever desire.
Jasper knew he had to react. He was loyal to his commander, and at this moment, his master was Maria. He would prove to be a good soldier, and this was the way he needed to demonstrate that. As quickly as Rubin lunged for her, Jasper was that much quicker for his newborn abilities had not worn out as quickly. He growled while he lunged at Rubin from behind, and in one menacing motion, ripped the head right off of the vampire. It was a vicious and quick attack, but without his head, he was impaired, and that much easier to burn.
Had it been a newborn, there may have been more of a struggle, the match would have perhaps been more even . . . but Rubin was worn out, and Jasper had the element of surprise on his side. He stared at the decapitated vampire lying on the ground, and looked at Maria, with a vicious expression as he did not regret the murder he had just committed. If it meant he was protecting her, then it was well worth it. He waited, to see if she would be the one to ignite him with the candle she held so near to her.

When Jasper lunged Maria did not turn. She stood there with her back to them, not moving at all. When the sounds of battle where finished behind her she turned to walk over to the human, looking down at the human, she fell to her knees and ran her fingers in his hair. "Hush little baby, don't say a word." She gave her obunius chuckle, before looking back at Jasper. "I suggest you finish him before your reward bleeds out." After that she looked back down at the crying human.
"Mama's gonna reward her good little boy, and if that good little boy stays the best," Her chuckled came again, and her voice drop to a whisper as she sang in the human's ear. "Mama's gonna spread her lands further west."

At last! The word 'reward' rung in Jasper's ears and he was all too eager to finish the task he had started. He continued to viciously rip the vampire apart, no concerning himself or expressing any sympathy for the human who was laying witness to this violent sight. Once the vampire was well pulled apart, Jasper picked up the limbs and threw them out the window. He made a mad dash outside, taking the candle with him, and then proceeded to touch the flame to the pile of what remained of the vampire that had once been Maria's general. Jasper felt no remorse or empathy for what he had done. If he had been in the vampire's place, he would not have acted so stupidly. He would have done more to safe himself.
Jasper did not watch the pieces of Rubin disentigrate. Instead, he just watched the flame rise for a few seconds, before returning to Maria's chambers. Now, his sight was on the human who was in tears. His expression was murderous, and he knew his eyes were darkening, ever since the smell filled the room. He was ready for his reward now . . . and he could not wait to taste that warm liquid. A soothing touch to the burning in his throat. He began to take a few steps towards it, but stopped in front of both the soon to be snack, and Maria. It was as if he was awaiting further approval, a final go ahead before he enjoyed his reward for his actions.

Maria liked that he was waiting for her approval. Liked it allot. Oh this one had promise. She stood up and stretched on her toes, so her teeth could nip at his lips before pulling away, "Well done, my little lock love." She told him and walked past him tot he door. "Once your done enjoying your reward, come find me,"
By this time she was past the door, and moving the hall, "I will enjoying the fire, and then I think I shall take my new general, out hunting." But this time, not for blood. At lest, that was no the first on her list.

Was he getting more reward? Did she just say he was the new general? There were so many things Jasper wanted her to elaborate on, and he watched as she made her way to the door to leave. He concealed the regret he felt when she left, and turned his attention to the human. His mouth twisted into a sinister smile. He had been looking forward to this moment ever since he first caught the scent of its blood outside Maria's room. He was going to enjoy this.
Without further adue, he lunged towards the human, but did not kill it quickly. He wanted to enjoy his reward and prolong the freshness of the blood as much as he could. The agonizing cries that filled the air were ignored by the attacker . . . as was the odd feeling he felt. It was . . . sympathy? Empathy? Regret? No. Jasper would not let it affect him. He continued sinking his teeth into the human, letting the warm liquid seep down his flaming throat and enjoying every drop of it.
Even in his attempt to make the snack last some time, it did not take long for the color to leave the victim, and for the lifeless body to be drained of all blood. It now lay there uselessly, and Jasper growled, as he did at the end of every meal because it meant that there was no more . . . for now. Maria wanted him to find her, maybe she had something else in store for him. She did say after all that she was going to take her new general hunting . . . or maybe she had another reward in mind, one that he had gotten a quick taste of before she left. He wiped the blood from around his mouth, making sure he was tidy in appearance before leaving to search for Maria.
He left the body lying there, mentioning to one of her several minions to dispose of it properly so that she would not have to look at it when she returned. He then began to follow her, her scent being the sole guide he needed to be with her once again. Her smell was strong . . . or maybe it was because he was so used to it, and searched for it with the heightened senses he recieved upon his transformation. Either way, it took only a few moments for him to be looking at Maria once again. He kept a bit of a distance between himself and her, as he returned to his military stance. "You called for me," he said, wanting to show how obedient he truly was to her, as he was ready to prepare for duty. "It was delicious," he added, with a hint of amusement in his tone, as he was of course referring to his human snack. It was his way of thanking her for it, without saying it in so many words.

Maria was standing in the night, watching the flames when she heard Jasper approach. He spoke once and she almost smiled. He was going to be a her general. She had done well in picking him. When he spoke again she did chuckle, and turned slowly to look at him. The perfect solder and he knew how to stay on her good side. "You are very welcome, my pet." She walked closer to him, slowly.
"I think you know what comes next but I will tell you anyway. Rubin had become worthless. Skill less he was causing more harm to this coven then good. I noticed you, Jasper. Noticed how you seemed to control the ones around you. You have a gift, a grand one. You will do well as my general. Your already becoming one of my favorites."
"We have work to do tonight. Once done, we can hunt and play. Being the city is ours we feast until the day light threatens us. Are you ready for you first actions as my general, my little lock of love?"

She had noticed him. He was one of her favorites. He would do as her general.
This information made Jasper feel like he had achieved something great. He held back a smile and looked at her in a way that a new general looked at their leader: with gratitude, and the willingness to do absolutely anything that was asked -- or commanded -- of them. "I am honored to take this position, and I will not disappoint you," he said, lowering his head in a slight bow. He felt as if he would rather die one hundred times over than ever disappoint her, especially after she has given him everything. Meals. Attention. And now, more authority than any of the other soldiers of this army she had created.
"I am fully prepared and committed to do what you command of me." Not 'ask', command. Anything she said, he would do. Now, more than ever . . . he felt he worshiped the ground she walked on.

Maria chuckled, very pleased. "You have a gift, in you." She begin, "We shall test it out in force tonight." She started walking the way they needed to go knowing he would follow. "An army is building against us in the west. We shall see if we can not damage their chances." Use his power to make the newborns so crazy they attacked each other. "Tell little Maria, what your learning of your gifts."

Jasper did indeed follow her.. He could not wait. He liked showing off in front of her. He wanted her to be impressed with him, and so would display all of his skills and talents in front of her, so that she could compliment him while he praised her. The particular gift she was referring to was one that had taken a bit of time for Jasper to realize, and be able to control. While he was still working on perfecting it -- though he was almost there as he included it as part of his daily training -- he knew what he could do. And Maria knew it as well. Though he would never even think of altering her emotions, he did not hesitate to do it to others if it proved to be an advantage to them.
"My gift is one that will be used solely to benefit you." What Jasper had not quite realized, was how much Maria's own emotions were influencing his own. He felt different around, that much was for certain, but he did not fully understand the magnitude of how his supernatural talent was two sided. "Surely they will not stand a chance." Jasper was rather confident about that. "Our current army is very strong, and we have the element of surprise on our side for they do not truly comprehend just how extensive our strength is." He was talking about Maria's strategies and plotting, and his own 'gift' as she called it. "I will use it to your utmost advantage," he paraphrased, wanting to reiterate his dedication to her.

Maria was very pleased with Jasper right now. "Oh, I have faith in you, my pet." She said, "However while my army is strong, I have goals of a larger city, and I do not want to waste pawns on a third rate army, who highest goals, are still lower then my lowest ones." She was annoyed that they would even dare get this close to her. "So we will ruin their chances before they try to attack." She lead him over some hills, and thought some woods and the vampire lair they went. "What do you plan to do, to them?" She asked.

He understood that. He understood her want for more land. It was a strategic enough mood; strike when you are strong, and when the others are weak. Jasper doubted they would fail; they had been rather successful in most of their attacks, why stop the record now? "Whatever you would like me to do to them," Jasper said. It was a straight forward answer. If she wanted him to kill them, he would. If she wanted him to manipulate their emotions so that she would have something more to gain from them, then he would do that too. Then again, he was now her general, he would be part of the battle plans. He would have to lead the army . . . he could never disappoint her. "As I said before, I will use my gift and my other skills to your utmost advantage."

"Yes yes." maria said, "I know you will but surely you have some idea of how you can use them?" She asked toying with her words. "Do you know how your powers work? perphas we should think of this as training for your powers?" She turned, stopped walking and pressed her self to him, "I would like to know what you can do Jasper. Every trick you can make others go."
"Why not show me, just once?" Maria didn't want him using it on her, but there were others. "Show me how strong you can be with your gifts. . . . Impress me." She leaned her lips closer to his ear and whispered, "Please."

Training. If this was a training session then he would most definitely do whatever he could to showcase his abilities, and why he was worthy of being her newly appointed general of the army. With the way she was asking him, so close to him . . . how could any vampire resist? It was no secret that everyone competed for the affection and attention of Maria; everyone found different ways to impress her. Apparently, his gift had caught her attention and she was fascinated by it. That was enough for Jasper to do whatever he could do maintain her interest.
A slight sinister smile appeared on his lips, and he began to focus. He was still learning the full extent and potential of his gift. He heard the voices of other vampires. He followed the sound until he came across a few of them. They were vicious, ferocious as usually. Jasper focused on one in particular. He would put an end to that ferocity as he began to emanate a less aggressive emotion into the vampire. As if a switch had been turned on and off, the vampire became petrified. He made the vampire feel fearful, thus vulnerable and susceptible to everything. He watched as the newborn began to cower away from the other vampire. Jasper felt the confusion from the one who's emotions he was not toying with.
"This is one way to eliminate any threat of an army; ensure all the soldiers flee out of fear rather than fight against you." He continued to show off, wanting to do as much as he could. He made the petrified vampire feel fear for Maria, as well as a certain desperation. Everyone reacted to the emotions he forced upon them differently, but in this case, the vampire reacted exactly how Jasper wanted him to. The newborn fell on its knees in front of Maria, practically bowing to her as if she were his last shred of hope.
"I will have all of them kneeling in front of you, worshiping you, praising you, fearing you."

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, Maria liked the ideas Jasper was putting in her head. "They always did say you white southern men knew just what to say to turn a little girl's head." Maria teased him, very pleased in this moment with what she was seeing. She watched the newborns move and could almost read their emotions on their faces. These were however, simple emotions, and basic actions. Just how much could he make them do? Newborns would be easy, almost child like to control this way, but immortals with stronger minds and will powers?
Maria's emotions played strong as she felt excitement over what she saw, both the adrenaline filled one based on the knowledge of what this meant for her army and the sexual kind. She also felt proud; of what she had found. Oh she was good to be able to take one look at Jasper and see something special. "Tell me, my little lock of love, how deep do these emotions run? Can they be made to last forever?"

While she mentioned his origin, Jasper did not even flinch when the thought of his human life briefly crossed his mind. It was becoming more and more of a distant memory. It was as if he had lived a different life . . . one worse than the one he was living right now. But the reminiscing was extremely short for he felt her excited over something he described to her . . . something he would do for her . . . something that he would make others do for her. It was a win / win situation either way, but Jasper was proud to be the one causing her this much excitement and enthusiasm. It was over his gift; over his capabilities. But it was her next question that he was hesitant to answer for it would force out the limitations to his powers.
"Unfortunately, I can not make them feel that way forever." He had to add a positive spin on it. "But I can make them feel that way for as long as you need to get what you want from them." Aka, to kill them. "The emotions can run as deep as you would like them to," he added, trying to make it sound more pleasing to her.

Maria would have liked for the emotions to last forever but she had hopes that with training, he would learn to change them longer. Maria was to please to let that one fact slow her down now. As long as Jasper was by her side the newborns would feel the way they felt. That was enough for now. In a hundred, if Jasper had lasted that long, perhaps he would learn to do more then just change and control. Perhaps he would learn to bring the rare change that vampires almost never got.
"Show me more." She told him, as she reached over and tucked her self against his side, to watch. If she was human the action would have looked as if she was cold, or perhaps looking for protection. Maria knew this feed the male ego, so she often did it to make them want to do more for her.

He enjoyed having her so near to him, as he wanted to be the one to impress her the most. In his human life, he had moved quickly up the ranks, and he expected to do the same in this. Only this time, he would not rely on his charm and skills . . . he would rely on his skills, and his exceptional ability which was already gaining her attention. Though he did want to show off his creativity, he also wanted her to feel like she had the ability to control others, through him. He did not mind being a vessel in that sense. Whatever he could do, she was the one who made it possible.
"What would you like to see?" He asked her, trying to sound like he was asking for a further order. Obedience was key, and demonstrating this as much as possible was important if one expected to be part of an army. He was no exception right now.

Hell raining down from the sky. Chaos. Anarchy. The Volturi at her feet, begging her for hunting rights. "Ooooohhh," She spoke suggestively, "I am sure you will think of something."I am sure you will think of something." She gave him a slow suggestive wink, and then turned to look away from him and to the ones she wanted to watch him toy with, end.
She had been testing him for the past half hour. From the 'reward' to Rubin, to this very moment. She wanted to know what he would do for her and the control she had over him. she wanted to be able to know his every move before unleashing him on her army and her foes. She had high hopes for this one, but first she wanted to know what he was capable of.
