Embry was having such a hard time ajusting to the new elements in his life: his new height, new strength, new abilities, new friends... He knew he left Quil and Jacob for Sam and his gang, but in time, they would understand and join Sam as well. Embry knew his friends would want to know what was happening, but the others told him it was best if he didn't. So he shut his trap. They would eventually understand this as well.
But all these changes were confusing, and learning to cope with them was not easy (especially when learning was not Embry's forté). Though the changes were easier to deal with compared to the extreme need of self control. Em could not freak out over small things; the resault gave an enormous problem. The worse of this all was that he couldn't talk about anything with his friends, they had yet to join him. And talking to his parents would not help either.
Embry sat on one of the large bone white pieces driftwood that seemed to come out of the sand like giant hands, and starred blankly at the water in view. Why did this have to hapen? He did not see the good in this or the exsitement the others said he would eventually feel as well. He just felt terrible. Terrible and lonely, and he never felt that way. ~~~tag: Paul~~~

Paul was in a rather good mood for he had just finished a quick patrol. Perhaps 'good' was a bit of an overstatement for he was a little bored at the moment. Jared was off somewhere, and Sam was with Emily. Whenever he wasn't patrolling, that was where he often could be found and well, they needed their privacy. It was only fun going to her place when there was a table full of food.
While Paul wandered aimlessly, he came across another pack member, though it was one that Paul had not been particularly close to: Embry Call. La Push was not a big place, and so he knew the cliques which existed within it. Embry often hung out with Jacob and Quil, neither of which had phased . . . yet. It was bound to happen, especially in Jacob's case. Since Paul felt he had nothing better to do, he would decided to bother Embry . . . at least it would help pass the time.
"Yo squirt," he greeted, emphasizing the age difference between them. "Why the long face?" He didn't really care. He did not want to hear Embry whine, he just asked the question to fill the silence that he expected to follow.

Embry looked over his shoulder to see whom had called. Urg, it was Paul. "What do you want, Paul?" He mumbled as he looked ahead at the water again. He sighed, rubbing his face a little. "Do you really care?" Emb asked without emotion in his voice. With an other sigh, he went ahead. "I don't get why this had to happen." He moved his hands to rest limply where ever they fell. "Why is it so important to be a flipping wolf?" He shook his head a little. (sucks, sorry)[/blockquote]

"No, I don't," he answered truthfully when asked if he cared. He was just bored. Paul then grew angry at Embry's remarks. "Whats your problem? Its something that our ancestors have been doing . . . you should be grateful that you're given this chance to be something more than a measly, wimpy little teenage boy." It did not take much to anger Paul . . . it was why he tended to phase so much. "You saying its not important to protect your land?" He asked, giving him a murderous glare.
[it doesn't suck! I apologize on behalf of Paul . . . he is being rude, as usual ]

Embry had not expected Paul's reaction. He knew it wasn't very safe for either of them to get angry, but he could not help be mad back at him. "Do you think I give a damn about what our ancestors have been doing in secret since God knows when?" He spat back. "I was never a stupid wimp, you might of have, but I wasn't. This only makes me a freak. It makes us all freaks!" He fumed on, unhappy about Paul questioning his past manliness. Embry's hands were shaking. "Who said I didn't want to protect our land? Yeah, I want to, but not as a huge, freakish wolf!" Embry was on his feet now, his back to the large white driftwood tree he was sitting on prior to. [/blockquote]

Paul was getting angry. He could already feel his body shaking. "They were your ancestors too." He took a step towards him so that he was standing right in front of Embry, in his whole in-your-face routine which Paul did far too often. "You don't deserve to be given the privilege of protecting La Push. You're right, you are a freak. But not because you are a wolf . . . its cause you're a coward. A pathetic, tiny, worthless little coward." Paul was very proud to be a wolf, and when someone spoke about such an ability negatively, he grew very angry, very quickly. Paul was not yelling, but his tone was spoken with enough anger that it seeped through, as he emphasized every word he spoke.

Embry was shaking pretty badly as he only got more and more infuriated by Paul but tried so hard to keep it together. After a few minutes, Embry just snapped, unable to take these insault anymore. He did not phase, but gave Paul a big, hard punch in the jaw, feeling the bone cracking under his knuckles. "Who cares! Our ancestors are dead, they did was they did, and I could care less about it!" He spat. "We're all freaks! No normal person is secretly a giant wolf! And if I'm a coward for think so, than fine! But you know we are! And that's why you're so defencive of this." His hands were shaking as was on of his legs now. It would be soon and he'd be a wolf. [/color]

Paul was furious. Embry's words were enough to anger him, but then he went further to punch him. The wound healed shortly after it was formed, but that was not the point. No one hit him . . . no one. Though, he craved the fight. It was something he had done, even as a child. Unfortunately, he was so enraged, that it was impossible for him to remain in human form. He phased, hearing the tearing of his clothes as he transformed into a massive, silver coated wolf.
He growled loudly, as he began to circle Embry, like a predator would circle its prey before it attacked it. He was definitely thinking to himself, and hoped Embry phased soon that he could hear Paul's attempt to provoke him.
Bring it kid.
He was encouraging him. A good wolf fight would be great.
I got more experience than you kid, but hey, try your odds . . . freak.
He purposely used to the word freak to define Embry, not Paul himself. Paul did not see them as freaks. He only saw Embry as one for not embracing who he was. He wasn`t defensive because he believed him; he was defensive and angry because he spoke so disrespectfully of their ancestors and their duty to protect La Push.

Great. Now he's a wolf. Embry thought to himself. "Dude! You're a huge, freaking wolf in the middle of a beach!" Emb spat in a sort of hiss. "Let's take this elsewhere." He added, turning and heading to the woods. He hands were still shaking, and all he had to do was pay attention to his anger, then he would phase.
When he reached the woods, he phased. The usual popping sound was followed by the sound of his clothes ripping to shreads -- luckly he chose to keep an extra pair with him until he had some control over his anger. Once they were both a little further in the forest, Embry stopped and turned. Let's do this. He thought to Paul. His teeth were bared and his lips curled back over them. You want a fight, bring it on. Em growled, crouching slightly. [/blockquote]

Paul did not care. He did not take percautions . . . he was too reckless. Paul did however race over to the woods. Some privacy could be good . . . no one would see who killed this punk kid. As he watched Embry phase, Paul chuckled. He growled at the young wolf in front of him, and once again circled him.
[center]I'll try to go easy on you . . . you know, since you're so inexperienced and all.
[/center] This was one of Paul's favorite part of a fight; the trash talking. [/color][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Shut up and fight me. Unless you're too much of a baby. Embry was not unexperienced, he faught all the time. Though it was not as a wolf, he did not care. He knew he could take Paul, all talk and not bite, that's what he was. Somewhat. As Paul circled him, Embry became irritated. As he watched him stride infront of him again, Emb rammed into him, letting out a low snarl. [/blockquote]

Paul?! A baby?! That alone was enough to make Paul phase, had he not phased already. Paul stumbled at the unexpected attack, but kept his four feet on the ground. He returned the favor by sinking his teeth into Embry's side. He didn't care how hard, it would heal on its own. He didn't even care if Sam was going to be angry about their fight . . . when Paul was angry, he became irrational. Then again, he was constantly irrational, anger was no justification. He took a step back, only to grin smugly.
Try not to cry. I know you're not used to this whole thing, but save your whining for those who give a damn . . . if anyone does care about poor li' Embry that is.

Of course. Paul was just so perfect at being a wolf he stayed standing up. Arg. Embry hated this. Not the fact that Paul had barely budged, but the whole entire concept of wolves and being one. Paul sunk his teeth deeply into Emb's side, and to be honest, it kind of hurt. A little. The guy's teeth -- wolf teeth -- were in his skin -- wolf skin -- come on! Embry just snarled in return and shoot him off, facing him again.
"Yeah, who does give a damn if I die? Huh? Jared? Sam? You? As if! No one cares in this stupid pack! Since I've been forced to join you guys all you've been is pricks! Everything we do, everything about us... it's for the pack! It's for our families! It's for La Push! And all of you are oh-so proud about all of this! I don't see why that is! How am I expected to be 'proud' of this hell hole that was forced apon me!" Embry fumed, even his thoughts reflected it. He was annoyed with all of this.
He rammed into Paul again, gripping at his fur with claw and dug his teeth into his back.

Had Paul not been so consumed with anger, he would have cringed, but he was angry, he was enraged. He did feel the sting of the teeth, and kicked Embry away with his hind legs, quickly jumping up so that he was facing the wolf one again.
You're right. I don't care if you die. I'll kill you myself for talking like a traitor. You have no respect for your ancestors, no respect for where you come from, where you belong. You're a punk ass kid who has no loyalty, and I don't want someone like that in this pack.
Paul was furious by the way Embry was talking about being a wolf. Sure, Paul was not too thrilled about the idea either, but he adjusted to it . . . he had to. He didn't have a choice, and he would rather embrace it than try to fight the inevitable. There was no going back once it happened, and frankly, if it was in Paul's blood to be this way, then how could he fight what was meant to happen.
You're betraying everything and everyone by talkin' like this. Leave La Push then. Get your ass out of here, cause you don't sound like someone who any one can rely on when it counts. You're pathetic.
Paul was growling and circling Embry. No one else was here to hold him back or control him, or command him to stop. He charged at Embry once again, ramming him into the side and pushing him with all his strength.
