Someone told me tonight that 'they heard' that summit was replacing the actor for Jacob. Any news on if this is a rumor or not? Since you two seem to be so 'in' in the facts.

I'm not sure they are. I was watching an interview with the cast and the actor who plays Jacob was asked "How are you going to get taller in the next movie?" He was just laughing and said something silly like "We dig them ditches" . . . anyway, I just got the impression that they were not replacing him. But . . . that was then. Who knows! I hope they don't. He seems like a funny person and looks like he would be a good Jacob and good at carrying out his personality [since we did not see much of him in the first movie].

I know, I like Taylor. I'm going to be highly upset if they do decide to change him.
He's been looking forward to New Moon, he's always ecstatic about it in his interviews when he's talking about it. It'd be so dissappointing if the decided to go with someone else.

Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz:

I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.

The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

I'd just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year.

No offense . . . but I would prefer no Leah rather than have Vanessa Hudgens as Leah. I do not think she would do a good job as Leah . . . and so would much rather not see her character being destroyed. Sorry if anyone disagrees . . . this is just my opinion .

I am so hyped about the movie. On newmoonmovie.org they post some of the photos of 'wolf boys'. The actors that might be the pack and some of them are guys I really like. They are down to earth and great. I am a little mifted the switched Sams but I am still hoping for the best.

We don’t have confirmation on the ones in bold yet, so take it as rumor till further confirmed. We confirmed Tyson Houseman and Alex Meraz for sure earlier, and Bronson Pelletier seems to be confirmed.

Tinsel Korey has previous acting experience in film, but Kiowa Gordon seems to be a virtual unknown. From what I can find, he’s an 18 year old high school student that lives in Cave Creek, AZ (where Stephenie Meyer lives, coincidentally). This is great news from Lainey Gossip [thanks, TwiCrack!]

In the film, the wolf pack defends humans against vampires although they have a tribal history intricately entwined with Edward Cullen and his family. The wolf pack members will join Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and fellow wolf pack member Taylor Lautner in the film directed by Chris Weitz which will be released domestically November 20, 2009.
