Jessica had been told by her mom hundred's of times today, to get out of the house. So, instead of being yelled at again, Jessica walked outside and headed towards the mall. Maybe she could find one of her friends from school, or meet someone new. It was always good to be the town gossiper, you could know who and what was coming or leaving.
Once in the mall, she took the escalators up to one of her favorite shopping centers. She had heard that they were getting some cute, new clothes in and she just had to see them. She looked around until she found some extra cute t-shirts on the other side of the store. She headed over there.
Jessica looked in her purse and saw that she had more then enough money in her purse and could go on a total shopping spree. She looked through all the shirts and tried them on. Looking in front of a mirror between each one. Finally, she was almost done. There was just one more shirt and the last of it's kind, to look at. She put her hand on it and went to take it off the rack.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After realizing that most of her shirts and pants were not enough for the weather in Washington, Charlotte had decided that she needed to go shopping soon. She had decided that today would be the day, because it was warm enough for some of her more modest clothes from Texas. But of course, modest wasn't modest for Washington outfits.
Grabbing her checkbook, Charlotte looked at her account and gaped. Her parents had added some serious amounts of cash, probably guessing what they would be used for. She would probably be spending quite a bit more than she planned for after seeing those numbers. Chuckling softly to herself, she found her car keys and drove to the mall.
Of course, Lottie knew it would be a short drive. But with her shoes, walking a few miles wouldn't be the best idea. She had heard one of her favorite stores was getting a shipment of clothing in, so she headed towards it. She saw a cute shirt, with already only one left. She guessed it was popular, and walked over to go look at the size. It looked a little too small, and like it might not cover her stomach completely.

Jessica grasped the t-shirt in her hand and lifted it off the rack. With a mirror on the right side of her, she held it up and pictured herself in it. Though she could see the picture, she didn't think it looked that cute on her. Maybe if she had blonde hair it would work. But, not for a brunette. So, she put it back up on the rack. Then turned and saw a blonde headed girl walking towards the t-shirt rack. "That shirt didn't work for me. Because of my hair, but it would probably work for you." She said. She didn't care if the girl liked her advice or not, she was trying to be friendly and hoped the girl would take it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The blonde waited patiently as she watched the brunette hold up the shirt. Char personally didn't think it would work well with her, though didn't dare voice her opinion. You couldn't do that in towns as small as this one, where everyone knew everyone. Back in her town it was small, but still bigger than it was here. There you could gossip freely without half the town knowing it by the hour.
'That shirt didn't work for me. Because of my hair, but it would probably work for you.' The words surprised Char slightly. Advice from complete strangers just never seemed to happen anymore, but apparently it still did here. She guessed that they weren't as up to date with the rest of the world as some towns were for attitudes. It was not like that was a bad thing, but where she was from usually you ignored strangers unless you were desperate.
"Thanks, but it's probably too small for me anyway. I'm Charlotte." She said with a genuine smile. It was probably true. She was at least two inches taller than the girl, and it had even looked like it might be a little tight on this girl. Tightness didn't bother her, which proved itself with her tank top that she was wearing. It hugged her curves too tightly, she was just glad that it hugged her in the right places.

Jessica smiled back at Charlotte. "Hi, and I'm Jessica." She said sticking out her hand. Jessica wouldn't call herself desperate. She had a lot of friends. I mean now that Bella was one of the Cullen's', Jessica was almost friends with them too. Though she still thought that Alice was a little odd and Jasper too quite. Jessica shrugged and put the shirt back on the rack. Personally, it was a little too long and the color was a little off. So, it hadn't worked for her. But, it most likely would've worked for Charlotte.
Once she hung the shirt back up, she turned back to Lottie. "So, are you new to this town. I have never seen you before." She tried to make it sound really nice with no sarcasm or meanness in her tone, and it turned out quite well. Jessica picked up another shirt that was close by. She went back over to the mirror and put it up to her like she was wearing it. Then, she turned back to Charlotte. "What do you think?" She asked. She really wanted another opinion on it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Hi, and I'm Jessica." Charlotte gave her a friendly smile, letting her natural bubbly side show. She found making friends extremely easy, and she had a certain charm that she wasn't aware of that made it hard to dislike her. She never really noticed that she was popular, despite she had been told she was. She always just shoved it away, saying that they were lying. That was mainly because her idea of popular where those snobbish girls that treated everyone like dirt.
"So, are you new to this town? I have never seen you before." Char gave a nod - it was a question that she had gotten used to rather quickly since moving up here from Keller. It didn't bother her that much, as she was a natural talker and didn't mind answering questions at all. "Yeah, I'm going to college over in Seattle. I'm from Texas." She explained easily.
"What do you think?" Charlotte gave a nod in approval, the color suited Jessica much better. She was no fashion expert, and never claimed to be one, but living around a bunch of rich kids did teach you one or two things (or a lot more) about what to wear and what not to wear. She had never intended on learning most of those things, but didn't really had much of a choice. Especially after going shopping with a bajillion aire's daughter. "I like it. The color suites you well."

Jessica nodded back. "Yeah, I thought it did. Just wanted another's opinion on it," she said as she hung it over her arm. That was the fifth and mostly likely last thing she was going to buy. Unless she saw a vary cute pair of jeans. She looked towards Lottie who looked as if she had just gotten started. Eager to see what she was going to buy, Jessica gave her an offer. "Hey, do you want any help picking thing out? Like someone's go ahead or not so great on clothes? I am like an expert at helping out any girl find the perfect clothes. In fact I helped one of my friends pick out her wedding dress that looked magnificent on her."
Jessica walked over to the cashier and asked if she could hold the items. Which the cashier agreed to do. Once that was done, Jessica walked back over to Lottie and awaited her answer. Jessica looked around the store in the mall and couldn't believe how many people were not there. I mean this store is closing and it's one of the best here. People would think that here would be sales and there should be more then just a handful of people here. Jessica thought to herself.
