It was about noon, and the weather was pretty much like it was for the majority of the time in the region of La Push, Washington; Rainy, wet, cold, and pretty much all around gray. The La Push reservation was certainly no exception. Along the First Beach, it was pretty much deserted because of the weather, even though it was still a Sunday afternoon. However, the beach wasn't completely deserted. Walking along the pale sands of the beach, far enough from the shore so she didn't get her flip flops wet, was Annabelle Williams, dressed in an overly large yellowish-green t-shirt, with her black flip flops, and a bikini underneath so her entire wardrobe could get wet and it wouldn't bother her as much as if she were wearing jeans or sneakers that would give her blisters or something like that.
Besides, she was getting quite wet because of the rain, especially since she was walking slowly and out in the open instead of rushing to a shelter out of the rain. Even though she was new here, she was quite comfortable with the rain, and it actually soothed her a bit. What with her just moving here and not knowing a lot of people, things had been a little stressful. Despite her love of the rain, she was actually hoping to find a place along the beach that would work to shelter her somewhat, only because she was carrying her black, leather sketch pad and wanted to find a place where she could draw and be out of the rain. The rain wasn't exactly the greatest thing in the world for the pages in it, so she knew that the smartest thing to do was to find a place where she could freely sketch with no worries about the rain.
Finally, she could see the perfect location up ahead of her. There was a series of high cliffs above, but some of the rock stretched up above the surface of the ground, creating a kind of alcove out of the rain. She hurried in that direction, knowing that this was the perfect opportunity to sketch a bit. Anna was a bit of a private person. She had only been in La Push for about three days. She’d seen just about everyone in the small town yet she’d never actually met one of them. She’d just been people watching and too shy to introduce herself. She’d actually arrived on Friday night, and it was already Sunday afternoon. She hadn’t gone to school yet either. Of course, she’d enrolled herself…but she hadn’t met the teachers or students. Monday’s going to be so much fun! She told herself, sarcastically.
Once she was there, standing in the alcove under the rock out of the rain, she sat down, opened up her pad to a new page. Well, not completely new. It was the drawing she’d been working on for a while. But, she hadn’t gotten anywhere near to finishing it because she wanted it to be perfect. It was a picture of a wolf. She had started drawing it after she’d seen a wolf or dog or something of that relation running across the beach the other day. After she got her pencil out, she stared down at the page for a few seconds. It needed a few things still. She had to add the eyes. And she’d redone the mouth a few times, his wolfy grin as he’d run had been engraved into her mind permanently, but she thought it didn’t express the rest of the drawing properly. But, she also wasn’t quite sure of how to make the eyes show the depth and complexity there was left to him. It seemed silly to be so careful and so into just one drawing of a wolf…but she still was. The wolf had seemed so happy and so at peace with the world. So free.

This time of the day was perfect. Barely any people were out. The sun was shining, behind the clouds of course. I chuckled lightly. It was raining. Which meant that no one would be out. Or barely no one. I looked out of the woods where I was standing. I was just changing into my clothes. Truth is, I missed not have anyone new to share my secrets with. Almost all the other guys in my pack and in Sam's have imprinted. I am basically like the only one left that hasn't.
After thinking about this for awhile, I walked out of the trees onto the beach. I looked around and saw a couple couple's holding hands and kissing while walking on the beach. I looked down. I didn't want to see this right now. When I brought my head back up I noticed something, or should I say someone. It was the same girl that I had seen a couple days ago. She had something in her hands. I believe it is a sketchpad. Intrigued with curiosity I followed her. making sure that she wouldn't be able to hear me.
After awhile I noticed where she was heading to. The alcove where I usually howl when the moon is full. I took off in the direction of the shortcut that I knew would get me there faster. As I was changing into my wolf form I looked at the sky. I could tell that there was going to be a full moon tonight. Perfect, maybe she will look over and while I am howling she will sketch me. I thought. I was so hoping that my pack didn't hear any of this. I couldn't even figure out why I wanted to follow her and wanted her to sketch me.
As soon as I got there I untied the rope that held my clothes to my legs. These came in hand so often. I then laid my clothes behind a tree making sure that she wouldn't see them. After that was through. I took a little nap, knowing that she wouldn't be here for at least another 10 minutes.

Annabelle just stayed there, even as it continued to rain harder and harder, to the point where it would have flooded an entire city, if half of it had been draining itself out into the ocean. She looked up from her sketching, occasionally, just to see if the rain had lightened up, she figured that it had been a bad idea to go out there in the rain. She might never be able to get back to her apartment if it kept raining like that. Or at least not be able to get back with her sketch pad’s pages still intact.
It was completely empty on the beach now. There was not a single person left on the beach, beside her. She was all alone. But, for whatever reason, she didn’t feel like she was alone. She felt like someone was out there still. Maybe she was just paranoid, but that was how she felt. Anna couldn’t help it, she just felt that somebody was still there, but when she peeked out of her shelter-soaking her hair and face with rain in the process-to see if someone was there, she was disappointed. No one was visibly there. Which annoyed her greatly, because she still felt like somebody else was there.
Anna took a deep breath and let it out in a big sigh. She was being so paranoid, it was stupid. She was insane. What kind of idiot would stay out in the rain in the first place? And more importantly, who would care enough to be “watching her from a distance” in the first place? That was how she felt, like she was being watched from a distance. She just didn’t know who was watching her or why they were doing so. Unable to focus on her drawing any longer, Annabelle closed the cover of her black, leather sketch pad over the picture and straightened up. She threw a glance around her once more, hoping to catch whoever was watching her.

Seth had been lying in the grass awake and still waiting for the girl, when he heard her. He went back to the grass and crouched down, making sure that she couldn't see him. He watched as she sat down and started to draw. As couriosity pulled him in, the girl looked around. As quick as he could he put his head back down, silently hoping that she didn't see him.
After awhile of watching her, he noticed her starting to put her stuff away. As soon as he saw this he started slinking to the spot that he normaly howled at. Once she started leaving he got ready to howl. When he saw her turn around and look, he let out the best howl that he ever could have let out. It was one that was long and soulful. After a minute of doing this he turned back to her. As soon as their eyes locked he felt that he loved her and could tell her everything. Sorry its kinda short.

Annabelle started walking back to her car. The rain was pounding down on her hard, but she didn’t care, she was already soaked through. She was digging around in her pockets, looking for her car keys when she heard something that froze her in place. A howl. Her eyes widened, she had a half a mind to jus run and never stop. She’d never heard a howl before, living in Atlanta, Georgia the worst thing you would hear was some swearing or car horns. She’d never even tried imagined how scary the sound of a howl could sound. She’d never had to worry about it before now.
Against her better judgment, Anna decided to turn around, it was probably just the wind or something and she wanted to prove to herself that there was no possibility that a wild animal was behind her. It was just her imagination. And as soon as she’d turned, she wished that she hadn’t. She wished that she had just run away while she still had the chance. A scream had worked itself into her throat, but then it just stopped there, she couldn’t get it out. Fear locked her legs so that they felt like lead, and she couldn’t move them. Anyone with any sense would have been as scared as she was if they were in her position.
There was a huge wolf. Annabelle could barely feel the freezing cold rain pounding on her bare skin. She was focusing on the wolf. Everything about it was scary. It had to be at least as tall as a small horse or very, very big dog. It had what looked like razor sharp teeth and a sandy coat of fur. Somehow, she got over her fear. Well, got over it long enough to make her legs move. She started backing away, her brown eyes wide with fear, but never leaving the wolf. She waited for some kind of reaction, hoping there wouldn’t be any but knowing that it was completely inevitable.

Seth saw as she started to back away. Without telling his body what to do, he lowered to the ground and slowly walked backwards. Hoping that she would understand that he wasn't going to hurt her. Once he back ed up a good couple feet, he rolled onto his belly. Basically, telling her that he would not hurt her. Why would I hurt her. I would never harm a human. He thought.
After 30 seconds of being like this, he rolled onto his his stomach. He looked back at her and let his tongue droop out and his goofy smile come back. I wish I could change back, but that would scare her way too much.

Annabelle stood there, watching the wolf also back away from her. She was intrigued, but not by him backing away. But, by the way he walked backwards. Almost like he was Human. She just kept observing him, trying to remember what she’d learned about wild animals and what the things they do meant. Wolves. Wolves. Wolves. She thought, as she raked through her mind for some information. She knew that if they showed their bellies, it meant that they meant no harm…or was it that they trusted you? One of the two, either way, she was thrilled that it meant he wouldn’t decide to eat her.
He started grinning at her, and she couldn’t help but smile back. No. She mentally slapped herself. This was a wild animal. It wasn’t smiling at her. She was imagining it and being completely insane. It was dangerous. She should have known better. That’s what you get for being a city girl. She told herself. But the way he was looking. So innocent, and Human, and puppy-like. No wonder people liked dogs so much. They were so cute. She had to keep reminding herself that, but she should already know all of that. Dangerous. Not a pet. Not safe. Back away slowly. Could have rabies. Those were the only real things she had to remember about wolves and any other kind of animal. But would she listen to herself or those instructions? No.
So, that was how Annabelle ended up staying there, and watching him. The fear was whipped off of her face, to be replaced by something more like curiosity. And the way he was looking at her. She couldn’t get over that. He seemed to have a sort of Human trait. Like Human intelligence or something. And that was why she stayed there. That was why she kneeled down on the soggy sand, pretty much declaring her death. There was no way she would be able to scramble back to her car before he lunged if he chose to. But, she didn’t care. She just watched him and he just watched her. Oddly enough, she sort of wished she had brought something to give to him. Meat or bread, or something. And yes, she knew that it seemed silly.

Seth saw her start to realize that he meant no harm. So, very slowly, so as to not startle her he got up. He placed each paw down and let them rest for a couple seconds before placing another one. After what seemed like hours, he was 3 feet from her. That was as far as he would come from her. For right now.
As she stared at him and him at her, he started to give a little bow. Hoping, that she wouldn't mistake him for a rabid animal or something. After 2 minutes he lowered himself to the ground and watched what she would do. He gave a sigh and slowly blinked his eyes. Seth stretched out and put his head on his paws. If she was to drive away he wouldn't chase her. He would stay her for at least another hour. But, somewhere deep down inside of him, he knew she wasn't going to.
Seth let out another sigh and got up he gave her a look that he hoped seemed to say stay. Then, as slowly as before he got up and walked over to her. He laid down next to her and put his head in her lap. He looked up with her, like he wanted to be petted.
