Rachael had just gotten home from a weekend away from La Push. She had gone up to get her clothes and mail. She had not planned to stay in La Push as long as she had been, but Paul had been changing her mind about allot of things. Since no one was home, Rachael walked the short walk to the beach and sat on the sand. She was back a few hours earlier then she had expected, but she had for once in her life, wanted to come back to La Push sooner rather then later.
It was a windy, colder morning and Rachael sat down on the beach to watch the choppy waters, move around. It was shortly after that she noticed people at the cliff's tops. Tag: Paul. (For a few post in the start, it will be the beach but then they will move here, so I just put it here.) ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Paul had not been in a good mood. He seldom was when Rachael left La Push. Ever since he had seen her for the first time after he phased, he had fallen for her. Well, the technical term was imprinting, but either way . . . it made him incredibly irritated when she left. He wasn't mad at her for feeling, he was angry at the situation, at the circumstances that forced them to be apart. To let of some steam, he had decided to join the guys in some good ol' fashioned cliff diving. The adrenaline they got when they jumped off from the insane height was something he needed right now . . . at least it was something to do. Something that he could feel the rush from.
"Get in line shorty," he said to one of his fellow pack members as he stood at the edge of the cliff. He looked down and instead of showing any fear, he smiled at the great distance between him and the water below. With one fluent motion, he jumped off the cliff and kept his eyes open the entire time. He felt as if he was falling into a bottomless pitt, and it was a wonderful feeling indeed. It only got better when he felt the cold water hit him like a whip. It was a sharp feeling, but never the less, refreshing. He swam for a little while under the water, enjoying the cool sensation it was giving him. This was the life.

Paul Moron Moran might have been enjoying life but Rachael had almost had a heart attack when she saw someone jump and noticed half way down it was Paul! She jumped up and ran to the water's edge and when he didn't come up she pulled off her shoes and started to go in after him. (Not sure how she would drag his large ass out of the water). When his head finally came up she stopped. Put her hands on her hips and glared. "PAUL MORAN! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------When Paul raised his head from the water, he thought for a brief moment that he had died and was in heaven, for the first face he saw was Rachael Black's. A grin broke out on his lips and he felt a surge of happiness, the same he always felt when he saw her whether it had been after hours or days. He always missed her, and now . . . here she was, standing in front of him . . . looking angry. He ignored the anger he saw in her and jumped up out of the water. He put his arms around her and pulled her towards him as he greeted her with a passionate kiss. He knew that he was probably getting water on her, since he had not dried off himself, but he did not care. He was just overcome with joy. After finally pulling away from their intimate embrace, he kept his arms around her. "I missed you."

"NO!" She said and pushed away from him, "No, no, no!" looking up at him, since she was unable to push away from his freakishly strong and hot body, "Paul, you jumped off an cliff!" She accused, in a angry tone. No wonder he was single and waiting for her! He did things meant to make a girl's heart die off. His bike, his cliff . . . Ahh! "You supposed to set an example for Jacob, Paul, not get him killed! My heart stopped when I saw the kamikaze jumper was you! I lost a year off of my life!" ((Icons not of my own making. --------------------------------------------------------------------Her concern made Paul laugh. He was not trying to be rude, he just thought it was funny how she was so worried about him. "Trust me Ray, the water got the worse end of the deal." He tried to hold back his laughter, but couldn't stop a few chuckles from escaping. "I'm fine, honest." He was not going to tell her that he did this often with the guys. "It's a cool sport." He would suggest that she try it but it would be too much for her fragile body. He would not let her risk it. "Now can you please greet me properly since all I got was an earful of a lecture," he said, looking at her expectingly. "Is that how someone is supposed to treat their boyfriend after not having seen them for so long?" He gave her a slight pout after whining about her reaction to his excitement.

He called him self her boy friend!
That was a childish thing to smile over but, she liked it. "If one's boyfriend wasn't jumping off cliffs, then he would have gotten the welcome he wanted." She replied before kissing him the way he wanted her to. And, there went her anger.
"You and your sports." She told him after the kiss ended. "Your going to be the death of me, next you'll be jumping that death machine off the cliff." She wished she had not said that. It gave him ideas. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Now that was what he was talking about! Paul put his arms around her once again, and did not feel her push away when their kiss ended. So he remained in that position. "Well now I don't need to attempt suicide anymore since you're back in town," he told her jokingly, since cliff diving had nothing to do with suicidal thoughts. It was just a rush that was difficult to get any other way. "When did you get back in town by the way? I didn't even know what time you were coming. Otherwise I would have some to see you straight away." It was always difficult for Paul when she left, and his fellow brothers could vouche for that. He was already tempermental as it was . . . it always became worse when she left, but he was not going to tell her that. If he got angry, he would just phase and she was still sheltered from being exposed to his inner wolf.

"I got back about a half hour ago. I needed to walk around since I had been driving for so long. I happened to walk and see you trying to end your life." She teased him. "Are you hungry? I can make something to eat." She was hungry and knew he was always hungry, so it was a safe bet they could eat together. She wasn't sure where all the food Paul ate went, but she she ate half that much she would look like a cow. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Good! She had not been here that long, so he did not miss too much time with her. "That sounds great! Suicide attempts really can make a guy hungry," he joked. Judging from the way she had said it, he assumed she knew he was not actually trying to kill himself . . . that it was just his strange, daredevil ways that him and the pack engaged themselves in. He adjusted his position so that only one arm was around her as he started walking away from the water, and in the general direction of her house. "You know, I really did miss you," he repeated, kissing the top of her head as they walked. He did not want to think about when she was leaving next. "So how are your classes going?" It was something she was excited about and if she was, then he was happy with her and for her.

Rachael was no in school anymore, but she just smiled. "Fine." She looked up at him, "How are your classes?" She love just walking with Paul. There was a simpleness to the slow world she had never enjoyed before. All her life (ever since her Mother's death) she had wanted out of Forks, and away from the responsibility of being the teenage Mother of three. Her first few days here had been filled with thoughts of leaving as soon as it was polite. Now, she hurried back, and enjoyed the small town, do nothing compared to the bustle of the city she had loved.
"No one else is home," She explained they neared the house. Releasing his hand she opened the 'trunk' of the bug and lifted a heavy box, with a shoe box on top of it. She eyed Paul for a moment. "You going to be made to work for your food. She sat the box down and picked up the shoe box. "Cary in my old school books." The box weighed maybe 50 LBS from the books she was bring here so she could donate them to the local school. They needed some better language books here. ((Icons not of my own making. --------------------------------------------------------------------He was glad to hear that no one else was home so that he would be able to have some privacy with her. Jacob was off cliff diving and if he wanted to stay less than annoyed, then he would know better than to come home. He bent down to pick up the box and though it was effortless -- considering his size -- he exaggerated. "What in the world is in these things, rocks the size of my head?" He asked, taking it to wards the door. "You're making a hungry man work when he's already starving . . . there better be a bigger reward for this," he said grinning, as he was suggesting something other than food as well.

"There's not." She assured him in the same tone as someone might reply 'oh there is' in. She was teasing him, but she was glad he was here to carry it in. This way she could make sure they were ready to go. Clean and things before 'asking' Jacob to take them to the high school. She put the shoe box down on the kitchen table. "Just sat the box, my the couch." She 'asked' him the same way she would 'ask' Jacob later. She pulled th elid off the shoe box to see the mail Joshua had been collecting for her.
She really needed to go though it, as everything was at lest a week old. However she wanted to start lunch for Paul first. A late lunch but he was always hungry. She turned to the fridge and opened it, looking around to see what they had. "How about chicken nachos?" Something lite but filling. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Well that was disappointing. He made his way to the living room. He had been here multiple times since he had imprinted on Rachael . . . it was becoming his second home. He even came when she wasn't in town. He enjoyed freeloading Jacob's food, and just watching TV. "Sounds great!" He called back, already feeling his mouth drooling from the mere thought of chicken nachos . . . made by her. He went to the bathroom to get a towel and quickly dried off, which did not take too long. The walk had been enough. He then threw the towel into the couch, on top of the box.
Ordinarily, he would have collapsed on the couch after placing the box down, but he had not seen Rachael in what felt like forever so he went to the kitchen, not to give her a hand, but to just see her, and spend time with her. He went to the kitchen and approached her from behind, putting his arms around her. "So did you miss me?" He asked smiling, since he had said it so many times and was teasing her since she had not said it back.

Rachael was filling a pot full of water when she felt the heat wave come up behind her. Paul was figgin' hot! In both ways. She smiled, "Yes. I did." She admitted instead of turning it into a joke like she normally did. If it had been anyone else she might have made a joke 'I can't miss you if your don't go away' or 'Miss you? You left?' but not now, and not with Paul. She was in her house, (which was feeling more like home rather then her apartment everyday) and cooking for her her boyfriend and feeling very domestic.
She had left La Push to avoid the domestic feeling her family cased in her, but with Paul, she found her self enjoying it more then hating it. "Tell you what, while I cook this, why don't you read my mail to me?" She smiled up at him over her shoulder. "That way after we eat, we can do hang out together and not hang out here all afternoon." --------------------------------------------------------------------Paul was satisfied with that answer. He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before going to the box which contained her letters. The first thing he saw was a note from . . . Mr. Joshua. "What the hell kind of parents did this guy have? Did they think they they were funny by giving him this name." Paul did not like 'Mr Joshua'. He hated him in fact. He did not read the note out, but he read it to himself.
Lana- Ray, dropping you a letter about the upcoming book club books. Do you want to host it at our place? I thought we could read War and Peace, or the Russian books by Lukyanenko that you like. Don't die of boredom in La Push, come home soon!
"'Our' place? Who does he think he is! This guy thinks he so freakin' smart." He started to mock his voice, even though he had never heard Mr. Joshua speak before. "Oh, Lana-Ray, I think we should talk novels at our place because I need someone to talk to about my horrible name, and what better way to do that than read strange books called War and Peace and Lukeiginakoyia. Just saying that, I feel smarter already." Paul scoffed, not impressed with this guy, and the last comment on the note made him even angrier.
"Die of boredom huh. I would like to make him just die," he mumbled. Paul needed to calm down . . . he was already clenching his hands into fists -- causing the note from her roomate to crumple in the palm of his hand -- . He could not phase in front of her, he had to calm down. Stay calm . . . calm . . . calm. "He sounds way too needy Rachael. I think its time you got a new roomate." He tossed the crumpled paper aside, not wanting to hold it in his hand anymore. Stupid pasty white boy.

Rachael was not sure who he was talking about until he starting reading the letter. Oh, Joshua. She refrained from making any comments to defend or encourage, seeming to find it simpler to just let Paul say what he wanted, and not fight the waves. "Lukyanenko happens to be one of my favorite authors, War and Peace my favorite book and I plan to look for my own place when I get a job working full time." She looked over at Paul, "Why are we anti-Joshua?" She put the pot of water on the boil and started un-wrapping the chicken. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Her own place . . . if only they were a little older, he would have offered that they get a place together. While he would be fine with that, he knew it would be too soon for Rachael because Paul knew they were be together forever, but she may not know that yet. "I can help you look for one." He was eager and counting down the days when she would be able to move away from Mr. Joshua. "Why should we be pro Mr Joshua? The guy sounds like he can't live without you." He was exaggerating, but Paul did not like him, and did not like her living with him. He was going to have to go down there sometime and set Mr. Joshua straight. That thought alone was helping Paul calm down.

"I help him with his daughter, my god-daughter." She reminded him. "Joshua is a good friend. We have allot in common." She looked back at him, maybe this was a bad idea. "Lets not waste our good moon on disagreeing about my friends." Had Paul forgotten the temper packed friends of his? The growled over every little thing. Growled! Since when did humans growl?
She was waiting for the water to boil but went ahead and started getting cheese and salsa out. She wondered about living with Paul, if this would be the norm rather then a random even. She liked talking about things like this with him. Maybe not Joshua, but people they know and could agree on. . . . all eight people they had in common. ((Icons not of my own making. Rachael liked that. Paul was jealous. She looked back at him as he read the next one. "Erin is a classmate. -She- and I were good friends since we had the same tastes in food and our majors were the same. She reminded me of Rebecca." She for Pairs. "I would love t og to Pairs for a visit one day. I can just imagine the smells and the foods." She looked at Paul, "Where would you go, if you could go anywhere in the world?" Surely he wanted to see more then the trees in La Push for the rest of his days. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------At least Erin was a she. "Oh . . . well its good that you two are close." He had no problem with Erin, his problem was with her room mate. Wait, was she planning on going to Paris soon? He hoped not. "Sounds like it would be a cool place to go." Maybe on their honeymoon -- yes, he was already thinking that far ahead.
If he could pick one place, it would be to Mr Joshua so he could beat him up. "Not sure," he said shrugging, looking at the post card once more before putting it down on the table. He did not have to crumple this one. "I hadn't really thought about it before. I don't need to go anywhere. Everything I want and need is here," and with those words, looked at her, implying that she was all he ever wanted and needed.

Everything he wanted was in La Push? For a girl who wanted out, falling for a guy who liked being in, was hard. "You mean there is no place, on God's green earth that you want to go see? No other cultures you want to experience?" She wanted it all, to see it all and live it all. She wanted everything, and especially wanted to not grow old alone while taking care of her family. She wanted her own family when it was time. . . . Maybe even with Paul when he was ready. He had said he wanted to enjoy a few more teenage years, but, maybe one day. . . . --------------------------------------------------------------------He could tell that that surprised her, and he was not sure how else to express the total devotion he had towards her. "No," he said simply. "I don't need to see anything else . . . I don't need to be anywhere else." He did not want her to feel trapped, but at the same time, couldn't imagine living somewhere outside La Push . . . not now when his pack needed him. "Like I said, everything I could possibly need or want is here, right in front of me." That was a more direct way of expressing what he was previously implying. He looked at her with a look that showed he was serious, but it was a soft expression as he was demonstrating his affection for her, and without using words, was trying to show he was committed to her. He knew that one day, he would have to say all of these things to her in words . . . maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe a month from now.

Rachael blushed as he said 'in front of him'. Did that include her? Was he implying something or was she reading way to much in it. She wanted to be his everything, but she didn't want to stay trapped here forever. "Maybe on a vacation." She pushed, but sounded more unsure of what she was saying, "La Push might be heaven on Earth but wouldn't you like to visit somewhere every now and then?" She wondered if he knew how important this was to her. How scary the thought of being in La Push forever as 'Billy's Shy Daughter' or the 'Up Tight Twin' was to her. He couldn't know, but she had to know his answer. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------He shrugged. "The thought never really crossed my mind. Where would I go? What reasons would I have for going?" He was the adventerous type in a different sense. "Vacations are nice once in a while I guess, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much by staying here." Would she want to move away? Would he really leave La Push for her? He would. He knew he would not be able to live without her . . . he got cranky when she was gone for a few weeks, he would never be able to survive if she was gone for good. The thought was bringing down his mood, so he went on to the next letter.
He looked at the envelope, and opened it up without even asking if it was alright to see her VISA statements. "Whew Miss Black, you owe some people a lotta money," he said a little teasingly, trying to lighten the mood so that he would not get depressed. It seemed that with every letter, came an intense topic.

Her lips didn't smile back. "School supplies." She explained, "I use the credit card to pay for everything I need at the being of the year and then pay it off, bit by bit thought out the year." She wondered if she could stay in La Push forever and ever for Paul. She had hoped he would stay he wouldn't mind some traveling. Apparently he never wanted to do that.
Turning back to the food, "Just set them aside, and I will mail checks later." She put the chicken into the boiling water and begin to heat up the dips. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------She didn't look too happy, but Paul was not going to get into that discussion again. He was trying to move on from it. This was all Mr. Joshua's fault! Paul would use him as a scapegoat and blame him for everything. The jerk. He tossed the bill aside and pulled out the next letter. He snickered. "You have a friend named Butterfly?" He asked, his snickering soon turning into chuckles at the obsurdity of that name. "You got a postcard from her, she's in Hawaii." He began to read it aloud.
"Found a new postcard, I know you love to collect them. Come visit me sometime. I don't think I will get to fly up for your graduation, money is tight, but I demand a million and three photos! Love you millions, Petals! -Butterfly."
He looked at Rachael. "Your nickname is petals?" He asked smiling as he started laughing again. "Man, your friends are spread out all around the world. You'd have to go on a year world wide tour just to visit them all." Was she going to Hawaii too? He fought the urge to ask her because the last time they talked about travelling -- just mere seconds ago -- it had not ended too well. "Interesting friends, Petals," he said chuckling, emphasizing her nickname as he held up the postcard for her to see.

Rachael loved that nick name. "My mother had nicknamed for all her children. Rebecca's name was Butterfly and mine was Petals." She explained, while turning around an looking at the card with a smile on her face. "I miss my sister, we send each other postcard allot since they are cheap and fun. Plus I collect them." She looked up at Paul from the card, "It's why I have daisies everywhere. The are almost all petals." She explained her deep sentimental reason behind the name. "Becca is the only one to call me that full time, my Dad dose it when he is buttering my up and Jacob doses when he is sweet talking me." She turned back to making her dips, not wanting to talk about Hawaii. ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------Oops. It was given to her by her mother . . . and butterfly was her sister. He was not going to make fun of the nickname before, especially when it had this whole reason behind it. Anything that involved her mother, Paul would not make fun of. He knew better than that. The death of a loved one was never easy . . . and Paul was not that heartless. "Its a cute nickname." As strange as it was, it was still cute. "Do you mind if I call you Petals?" He asked flirtatiously as he winked at her. "How many postcards do you have anyway?" He asked, looking at the one that he was holding in his hand. "You should tell Rebecca to come to La Push for a while. I'm sure she would like to see Billy, Jake and you."
