"STOP IT! STOP SAYING THAT! IT'S NOT BETTER THIS WAY! IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE BETTER THIS WAY!" Her own father might have well just stabbed her in the back. How could he! HOW COULD HE! He had been looking at her differently, worried about her being so hungry, lately, and getting so tall. His stress was mounting, when Seth started showing the same signs. He had been complaining about his chest earlier in the night, so Leah and curled up on the couch, turned off the TV and asked if they could spend a quite night playing cards and talking.
Harry had said he would love it. So, father and daughter had sat down and and started to play a simple game of 'war'. Leah had started off winning, but Harry came in close. He asked her about school, and her plans for after high school. He seemed to have trouble asking some of the questions. Like there were double meanings, or reasons behind them that Leah would never imagine.
When he moved on to the asking her about her day, her hands shook. She was so angry thinking about it. She had been angry that day at the time, but not like now. It was as if the anger was growing. She had been hanging out with some of her friends. HER friends, who had somehow fallen for Emily. They were talking about the wedding that Emily was planning. Talking about how they thought Emily and Sam looked so cute together. As if it wouldn't hurt her! As if Leah had moved on!
Leah had walked away, to angry for even a good bye, or comforting words as they called out a few oh noes, and some so sorries. Leah had walked for hours before heading home. Now her hands were shaking as if it was all still fresh. Her father's face went white. He started talking softly, asking her to let things go. Learn to forgive. Move on. Then he said the words, that pushed her over with. It's better this way, Leah-Girl, trust me on that. He had said it strained and softly, almost pleading with her but her anger was to high for her to see he was struggling to get up.
Leah's arms and shoulders were shaking so hard, by the time she bolted out the back door. She wasn't going to stay home with her father if he was going to add to her hurt. Leah heard her father calling after her and the door open and she turned around, stop it, she called to him, stop saying that. It's not better, it's never going to be better this way. Leah was yelling at him as her whole body started to shake!
His face was white, and he put one hand to his chest. Leah was shaking so hard she almost did not see how his own knees shook, as if he was couldn't stand well.
That was when it happened.
He wanted sympathy from her?! He was going to try to make her feel guilty? . . . .It was going to work. Leah gritted her teeth and tried in in hale as she was shaking, so she could pretend for a while that everything was going to be ok. She took a step, but she fell. She fell on the ground and her shape blurred and then a loud ripping sound filled the air. . . .
Leah pushed off the ground, and she felt heavier, everything seemed louder, and brighter. Which was odd, being is was late at night. She wasn't shaking anymore but she couldn't get off of her hands and knees . . . . . That was when the screaming starting. It came out in loud, overly animalistic sounds, and only sounded human in her head.
Her father, was on the ground too, clutching his chest and his lips were blue. She could hear her mother and her brother on the steps, coming closer. Leah turned and ran into the woods, suddenly wondering what they hell she had turned into and why the sight of her was killing her father.
She never stopped screaming.

Seth had been in his room listening to his music when he heard a loud noise . It had sounded like someone had fallen and pretty heard. So, he ran to his mom and they quickly went out to where his dad and sister were. But, there was only a small gray wolf. Then he heard his dad. he looked down and saw his dad grabbing his chest. He knelt down to his dad and then looked back up at the wolf who now was running back towards the woods.
"DAD!" He yelled as he put his arm behind his dads shoulders and lifted him up. He looked back up at the woods just in time to see the tail of the wolf disappear. "If I ever see that wolf again.." he stopped there. he was getting pretty pissed and where was Leah. He carried his dad to the couch and laid him there.

Paul was getting ready for a patrol. Well, there was not much one needed to do in order to get ready other than make sure they didn't have any of their favorite article of clothing on. He was only clad in a pair of jeans . . . not even sneakers since that only proved to be an inconvenience and he didn't want to take the risk of losing them when he wasn't even going to be wearing them. And so, he ventured deep into the woods, so that he would be in complete isolation when he phased. Sometimes there were the most random people wandering around the woods, hiking at odd hours of the night . . . but so far, he didn't hear anyone . . . . at first.
Things drastically changed though when he heard a scream, and the sound of clothes shredding. This peaked his curiosuity and he raced towards the source of the sound. He found himself peeking through the trees at Leah's house . . . and saw a lifeless body lying on the ground. It was . . . . oh no. Things seemed to happen so fast because he saw a figure flee from the scene and run deep into the woods. And then there was Seth, taking his father's body inside and while Paul was torn as what to do, he did what he knew no one else right now could. He followed Leah.
As he ran he stopped only for a second to undress, and quickly phased so that he would be able to communicate with her . . . at that second, as he stood on all fours, he realized how absurd this was. Leah . . . Leah Clearwater . . . Leah a female . . . had phased into a wolf. How was this possible? None of the legends described a female wolf. This was strange . . . oh . . . no . . . Leah could hear his thoughts.
Yo Leah.
This ought to freak her out.
Sup?
He tried to sound casual, concealing all the confusion that had arisen from her phasing. Maybe Sam or Billy knew about some legends that spoke of this . . . oh . . . Sam. . . ha ha . This was going to be very interesting indeed. Paul had a million questions, a million uncertainties about this whole thing, and yet, he still remained in wolf form to communicate with their newest member of the pack.
