Oh no! He had made her cry. He hated making her cry. Paul was already uncomfortable enough around crying women . . . but it pained him to see Rachael cry, even though she did it when she was filled with an array of emotions, whether it was happiness, sadness, anger . . . it was her way of expressing herself, and while he loved everything about her, he still hated being the reason she cried -- no matter what the emotion was -- . Paul was confused. He was going back to his mother's? Oh . . . damn! Well that ruled out the possibility of them sharing a bedroom. He wasn't sure how she would feel about that, but now it seemed like the thought hadn't even crossed her mind, especially since she was sending him back to his parent's house! He put his arms around her but slightly broke out of the hug so that he could make eye contact with her. "Ray, I'm not leaving. I'm staying here. I just figured we needed a room for the baby, and its not like I sleep much anyway, so I don't really need a whole room for myself, especially since we're tight on space. That way, you can keep your office." He would bring out the idea of sleeping on the couch when he was 100% certain the idea of sharing a room with her was completely ruled out.

Rachael suddenly stopped crying and pulled away from looking very guilty. . . which started new tears but they were slow and ones she could talk over. They would need space, allot of with twins. Twins he knew about half of. "Paul, ummm." She shifted her feet then changed her mind. "Move in with me." She looked up at his face, and into his eyes. "I love you, move into my room."
She knew she had to tell him the truth soon before the secret would turn into a lie. "Besides, we are going to need both rooms." She looked around the room not being able to meet his eyes. "Paul I have a twin sister." Hint. "My mother was a twin." Hint Hint. "They run in my family." Should she spell it out? "We are going to need both rooms, anyway. Maybe not at first but sooner or later, I mean when they are babies they can share and all, but once they get bigger they will want their own space to express them selves which is important, children need that way to express them selves. All of doctors agrees, nine out of ten or so, all say children---" She was rambling and not in her smart way. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

REALLY?! "Really? I didn't want to pressure you Ray. I'm fine on the couch . . . I don't want you to feel like we gotta be in the same room." He remembered how reserved she had been when they first moved in. The actions that had led to her pregnancy had been due to intense emotions due to the thought and possibility of losing one another. He was pretty sure that if that fear hadn't been there, she would not be having a baby right now. He wasn't going to fight this case much though. If she was sure, then he wouldn't argue anymore. He wanted to share a room with her. He loved her and wanted to be next to her every single night.
Paul was not following her hints . . . he was rather bad at cluing in. "Ohhh, yeahh . . . " Paul was going to try to pretend to get it, but it was too hard. "Wait, what?" It took him long enough to accept the fact that she was having one baby, and so his initial shock of that was perhaps why he was so oblivious to all her hinting right now. "You want more than one kid? Ray, I think we should sorta . . . you know, take it one at a time." How many babies did she want?

Rachael just stared at him, waiting for it to click in. She put one hand on her lower belly, as if she was touching where they baby might be. She wondered how long he would take before the shock set in and he freaked out again. She was braced for it, she was bracing herself for whatever emotion he poured out. Last time, with the idea of just one baby he had almost a full blown panic attacked and she wasn't sure she could take round two right now.
In her final hint, she put her other hand, on the upper part of her belly, as if she was touching the other baby. She thought about saying, this is step one Paul, but was to afraid of his reactions. She just had to wait to see if he got it, or if he was going to make this harder and her spell it out. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul just stared at her. He was definitely missing something. But he ignored it for the time being. He was trying to understand the significance of her hand placement, but he was still confused and so decided to change the subject to something that he wasn't as confused about. "Anyway," he turned back to the room, putting his arm around Rachael. "So what do you think about yellow? I figured we could just build the crib instead of spending a lotta money on one. It shouldn't be too hard to make. And we can check out the -- " Paul abruptly stopped taking. Mid sentence, mid thought, he finally understood. "TWINS?! We're having TWO babies?!" He didn't know what his emotion was. The shock was there, but there wasn't as much denial as there was when he was told about the first one. He just stood there, staring at the room. "We're . . . going to need . . . a bigger crib . . . "

Rachael wasn't sure if she wanted to run up and hug him or step away. "Paul?" She asked waiting for the shock to hit him again. "I like yellow." It seemed important to him for some reason, this yellow. He spoke about it twice now. "We can do it yellow, if you like yellow. I do not mind. I think it will make the room brighter, more fun." She watched him, with her worried look on her face, brows bent in, and eyes unsure. "This will be ok, Paul. We can make it ok." She promised, still un-sure of his reaction.
"I know this is happening fast, but as I said before, you have time. Babys take nine months to grow so you have . . . well, about seven and a half or so." She was just over a month along, just enough for signs to start showing up. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Yellow it is." He was distracted, even though he wanted to be focused on the conversation they were having right now. One baby was a big responsibility on its own . . . but two?! How were they going to be able to take care of two?! Two adults for every one kid, isn't that a fair team? Now, they were going to be outnumbered! He scratched the back of his head, trying to think of how they were going to be able to afford this. Twice as many diapers, twice as many clothes, twice as much of everything! Was nine months enough time to change their entire lifestyle?!? "Uh . . . yeah. Nine months." He needed to find a job fast! Suddenly, all the anxiety was coming back to him, but he was trying to control it . . . he didn't want to ramble like an idiot again. He had just managed to convince Rachael that he was going to stay with her. He needed another conversation topic . . . . . . . . . "How are you feeling right now?" Yes, still related to the pregnancy, but now, he was going to be focused on her, and not focus directly on the babIES.

"I feel. . . . " She trailed off looking at him trying to guess what was going on his his head. Was he thinking of all the work, or pressure? How could she make it better. She wanted to tell him that she didn't expect things to change on his part, at lest not yet. It's not like they planned this. Not yet anyway. She was old fashioned, first came love (check) then came marriage ( ) then came the baby carriage (double check). She had not expected to be an unwed mother of two by her late twenties, much less early twenties. Her father alone was going to cause enough stress over this, with his morals much less her mother's memory. She wasn't going to stress Paul anymore then she had too, " . . . . worried for you." She admitted. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul needed to start acting more like a man. He needed to snap out of the state of shock that he had been in for two days, and start taking responsibility for his actions. That mere word made him hold back laughter and chills at the same time. Though he had gained more responsibility and obligations once he joined the pack, this was a whole new level of it. He would have to change his life completely around. He would do it though; he would do anything for Rachael. If she was happy about this, then he wanted her to stay happy. He didn't have to freak out in front of her anymore, he could save it for later. He would be a good boyfriend. That term suddenly seemed to minimalize what their situation was. Did she wanted to get married? Oh god. One thing at a time.
He put his arm around her and kissed the top of her head. "Don't be worried about me." The last thing he wanted was to be the source of more stress for her. "Does anyone else know?" He was trying to keep his voice calm and as steady as possible. He would stay level headed for her. He would freak out later. Yes. Save the freaking out for later. He needed to take care of her right now . . . it should not have to be the other way around.

"Well, ummm. . . " That was her guilty expression, it meant she felt guilty for something, "Emily might know." Which meant she spilled everything to Emily, "So she might have told Sam," Who might have been on patrol last night, and wolves had no secrets. . . "I don't think your mother knows yet, or my Dad, or Jake." And they might be the only ones left.
"Kim knew something was up when were at the doctor's and they ran allot of test, but I am not sure if she could have guessed all this." Rachael moved her hands around as if to say everything you see here. "But we don't have to tell anyone yet. You can get used to the idea first." And on a positive note. "Leah wouldn't know either." Paul didn't mind too much that Emily knew . . . besides, it was better that Rachael be the one to tell her rather than him. He listened to her list off all the people who knew and didn't know. "You can tell your dad and Jake. I think they're less likely to shoot you if you tell them." Paul would have usually welcomed the opportunity to get on Jake's nerves, but ever since he had imprinted, he did not engage in as many fights -- obviously -- and so he did not regret missing the chance to be in one. "I'll tell my mom. She loves you anyway, she'll be crazy happy." His dad? His dad was a bit more traditional, but he knew he too would be supportive. His parents never penalized him for anything . . . he was given far too much liberty in his life to worry about doing something now. Leah doesn't know?! "I'll tell Leah." That was one person that he would love to rub Rachael's pregnancy in her face. After all the times she had given him a hard time, finally, a way to add to her already bitter self. "We can tell people Ray. Its not like its easy to keep this kinda stuff from wolves and a small community. Besides, the more I say it, the more real it becomes." Paul was refraining from freaking out all over again.

"I was hoping we could tell our parents together." She admitted. She wasn't afraid of his mother but his father and her father were another matter. Her father would not yell, or shoot Paul (even if he would want to) but sometimes, Dads knew how to give you think look that was worse then any gun or scream. Rachael was still his daughter and feared that look even after not living with him for years now.
It was almost odd to think about how fast they had moved. Normally four months would mean Rachael would still be slowly getting to know someone. With Paul however it seemed like a lifetime already and perfect at that. Five months and they were living together, pregnant, and . . . unmarried. "I also want to visit Mom's gave with you, and I know this sounds silly, but. . . .well, I want to tell her." Rachael missed her mother. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. "Sure, if that's what you want, that's what we'll do," he said smiling at her. He was going to have to be here as much as possible . . . he wasn't going to let her go through any of his alone. "Billy is gonna kill me," he said, with a slight nervous chuckle. He wasn't scared of the old man . . . he just knew that he couldn't disrespect him because he was Rachael's father. "It doesn't sound silly. If you want, you can tell her before we tell any of our other parents. If you wanna head there right now, unless you wanna wait?" He was just presenting the option so that she would know he was 100% willing to go with her.
"I was also thinking, on a different note, that we're gonna need a baby beeper or something." With being gone all day either at work or patrolling, he wasn't going to know if something was going on with the baby and as he previously decided, he wanted to -- and needed to -- be with Rachael as much as possible. "I don't want you to be by yourself much either. If I'm not around, then try to be with Emily, or your dad or at least someone."

Rachael gave a slight chuckle, "I think we have a more then a few months before I have to worry about being alone." She told him and secretly enjoyed the worry but wouldn't admit it. "We can tell my mother later. I was thinking for your parents, we could get wait a week or so, and go get one of the ultrasound photos done, and then put it in the frames that say I love my grandmother and I love my grandfather, and give them to them as gifts, as a way of telling everyone. My Dad. . . .I am not sure how to tell him." [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

"Wow, sounds like you put a lotta thought into this." Paul knew his parents wouldn't be upset. They would probably be surprised, but he wasn't worried about the potential anger . . . he was certain they wouldn't be mad. In fact, they would probably react to it better than Paul did. "Right . . . your dad . . . " Paul thought about how Billy was going to react. The imprinting thing was inevitable so he hadn't been too upset about that, but how would he feel about Paul getting his daughter pregnant? That, was preventable, though Paul couldn't regret it. "Could we do the same thing? The whole picture in a frame idea? Maybe that'll soften him up a bit . . . "

Soften him up? Rachael looked up at Paul who was forever taller then her. Even with out his wolf height, she was much shorter then him, EVEN in her heels which she felt the need to wear more and more to look less short around him. "Paul?" She asked a slight humor in her voice. She watched his face for a moment thinking about what he had just said. It was almost cute to think of, the big bad Paul and her Dad, but she wouldn't tell Paul that. Guys dind't think it was cute, girls did. Maybe she would tell Kim or Emily. "Are you afraid of my Dad?"
One would think he would be more worried about how they broke the news to her brother then to Dad. Her Dad, couldn't hurt Paul, (Even human Paul), so what could Paul be worried about? Disapproval? That was what Rachael was worried about. The disappointed look on her Dad's face. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Her question made Paul put on his best 'tough guy' face and stance. "Me? Afraid of your dad?" He let out a small chuckle, though it was forced and not as natural as a laugh should have sounded. "I'm not scared of him . . . I just want us to get along, for your sake Ray, cause I know it wouldn't make you happy if we argued all the time." Though that was true, Paul couldn't deny the odd intimidation he felt from Billy. It was probably because, even though Paul was much larger and stronger than Billy . . . if Billy hit him, or did anything, Paul would never hit him back. And the thought of walking away from a fight after taking a few hits, freaked him out. "Come on," he continued, plastering a cocky smile on his lips. "I'm so not afraid of Billy." He folded his arms across his chest, trying to sound 'tough'.

Rachael's face said she didn't believe him. "Your right. Your so brave!" She meant it but at the moment it was more of a tease. She looked up at Paul and smiled seeming to finally be fully happy. "Can I ask you something?" She hoped this would not be something that sat him off again. She worried he could 'go for another walk'.
Her brows bent as she looked up at him, almost showing her worry in her face. "Do you want a boy or a girl?" Even if they were twins, Rachael was just assuming they were be the same sex. The odd of having a boy and a girl here low. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

Paul hadn't even thought about that yet. Did he have a preference? Most soon to be parents said that as long as their baby was healthy, they didn't mind. "I really don't know," he answered honestly. If it was a boy, and there was still a need for a pack, then there was a good chance he would be alpha. Wow. Paul's son would be alpha . . . that would make any father proud. But, if it was a girl, then Paul would not have to worry about the potential danger she would be put in . . . . but, there would be a whole other set of problems: some wolf might imprint on her, and that was something Paul didn't even want to think about.
"It would be pretty cool if we had one of each, wouldn't it? I mean, that way, we would learn how to raise a daughter and a son." The thought made him smile, though a part of him was still dealing with the news. "What about you? You want girls don't ya? Can't say I blame you after how crazy and loud you've seen the guys act around here," he said chuckling. Wow. They were having children. Two. Not just one. Two.
