What was Alec of the Volturi guard doing in North Carolina, United States? To make it worse he was not in the busy part, no, he was in the middle-of-nowhere. For once Alec felt irritated. He was sent on this mission alone, which had already angered him, for he was separated from his dear sister, but now he was in an area that just made him want to kill anyone and anything. Thank goodness Aro had sent him here to kill. His normal task was to kill things humanely, to be the nice twin and give them peace before death. Not today. His mood was shattered, anyone that would cross his path would be praying for Jane instead. He looked around and a scent hit him. He was told the vampire would be easy to find, and there he was. He saw the nomad, and paralyzed his mind temporarily, the other vampire did not even see the mist coming. Once he was directly in front of this particular vampire he let his mist fade and he looked the other directly in the face, it was then he relieved his anger.
After a successful, painful kill, Alec brought himself up and inhaled deeply, he was thirsty. His body moved quickly and within seconds he was miles away from his previous kill. Once he stopped his senses quickly went to work, but what he found surprised him. Another vampire scent. Letting his interest take over, he went to investigate. What he found surprised him. He saw a female vampire this time, another nomad from the smell of her, for she did not have the scent of the male he had just killed lingering near her. Alec did not know what to do, he had never seen her before, and he could tell she was young, not just in appearance but as a vampire. She appeared to be about 17, five years older than himself, and she was. . . beautiful.
The thought startled Alec, and he quickly shook his head, but continued to stare at the vampire in front of him. Something about her was different, but he could not figure out what, but when he started thinking about it, why should he care? He, Alec, had never cared about anyone in his life before, aside from his twin sister. She was all that he needed, but still. . . this vampire here caught Alec's attention. Which meant she would catch Aro's one day too. He smiled at the thought and decided to make himself known to the other vampire, he walked out into her view, and gave her a lazy, half smile. When he spoke his voice came out in a soft purr, "Well, hello ma'am, I don't believe we have met," He assumed she would know who he was, or at least what he stood for, he wore his traditional red cloke of the Volturi guard; but just in case, "I'm Alec." He held out his hand to her, not in a handshake sort of way, no, he expected her to place her hand in his, that way he could give her an old fashioned greeting, a light kiss on the back of her hand. He worried though that she might not know what the gesture meant, he was much older than he looked, and some habits died hard. [/blockquote] [[Tag: Cassidy!!]]

Cassidy looked up at the night sky. A full moon shone down on her, bathing her pale white skin in a dazzling creamy light. The girl's bright red eyes contrasted sharply against her marble skin and was off-set by her blond-brown hair. Currently, the young vampire had yet another lonely house in her sights. Inside, there was a man and an older son. Both were asleep for the night and would not ever suspect her arrival. A cruel smile crept across her bleached face and she slowly began stalking her way over to the house.
For some odd reason, Cassidy did not feel like she was in the mood to play around with her pray tonight, and therefore she went in and killed both men quickly. The young vampire then proceeded to feeding from the two until she'd felt she'd had enough. It was a pitiful night for her; not much fun. Deciding to stay in the house for the time being, Cass made her way to the front porch and sat down on the steps. The full moon was still shining brightly on her, not bothered at all by the murders she had just commited. Smiling, Cassidy bowed her head and noticed looked at her sleeve. Her long sleeve, loose white shirt looked rather ghostly under the moons light. A slight breeze picked up her trailing sleeve and added a more lively effect.
Suddenly, the most handsome boy she'd ever seen stepped into her vision. By his scent, Cass could tell at a distance he was a vampire. The bored expression on her face dissolved into curiousity and interest. When he approached her, she grinned sexily. "Well, hello ma'am, I don't believe we have met, I'm Alec." Then he held out a hand to her, and Cassidy's expression turned from sexy grin to surprised. She gave him her hand; for she wasn't stupid and could tell by the way he offered that it wasn't a handshake.
"Well hello there. I'm Cassidy." The young vampire went back to smiling, and then got up off the stairs. "And I should think not! A boy like you I don't think I'd forget."
Swept away by the boy's manner's and looks, Cassidy had neglected to look at his clothes, though it would have done her no good. Cass did not know about the Volturi. [/blockquote]

The way she placed her hand in his made him crack a real smile. She tried, and she was very close to the way that the women used to do it, and the way Jane still did. None-the-less, he bent down gracefully, and placed a gossamer kiss on her knuckles and the released her hand. He noticed right away that she did not take in his outfit, and most of all she did not recognize his name, odd. He took her in, and thought to himself briefly. He quickly came to the conclusion she must not have any idea how the vampire world really worked, and thus she would not know who he was. Oh well. . . actually, that could work in his favor, not knowing who he was meant that she got to know Alec. Not Volturi guard Alec, but the real vampire. He smiled at the thought, no one knew Alec, except for his other half. The two knew what the other was thinking, he loved his sister. And her smooth, velvety voice brought his attention back to the girl in front of him, and he was lost in the deep red of her eyes for a brief second.
Her name was one he had never heard before, which did not surprise him in the least for he had already concluded he did not know who she was. He would remember her if he had, that he was sure of. Her next comment startled him. Never before had he received a compliment like that. The way she stated it, he knew it wasn't a comment to do with fear, more attraction. Most vampires turned a blind eye at him, he was much to young in appearance which was pathetic considering he was older than most of them age wise. He sighed, but smiled once more to reassure her before he continued on, "If I may be so bold as to ask miss Cassidy, but how long have you been a vampire?" It was a simple question, but she was young, and by the looks of it hadn't been taught anything. Her maker was careless. Whoever that may be. . . Aro would like to know, vampires are not supposed to go around changing others without teaching them some basics at least. Caused to many problems. Carelessness. [/blockquote]

Cassidy stared at Alec as he bent to kiss her hand. It was something she was certainly not accustomed to, but the act of it dazzled her. There was such grace in this one movement that it stunned Cassidy speachless. That is, until he let go. Then she frowned and looked up to his eyes. There her gaze lingured for a while, and it took her a while to realize he was staring into her eyes too. Smiling uncontrollably, Cass yanked her gaze away and instead focused on the odd clothing he was wearing. He certainly couldn't have been from around here. It was then that his beautiful voice caught her attention.
"If I may be so bold as to ask miss Cassidy, but how long have you been a vampire?" Slowly, the young vampire smirked. She loved the way Alec said her name; soft and formal. Cassidy returned her gaze to the boy and replied, "It's been about four years. May I ask how long you've been a vampire, sir Alec?" Cassidy burst out smiling again. She knew she probably did not have the tone or the grace to pull off talking the way he did, but it was still fun to try.

Just looking at her and Alec could tell he was having some strange effects over her. She reacted differently than anyone else ever had around him before, even his sister. She wasn't scared or anything around him, more nervous and interested. Which only sparked his curiosity that much more.
With her conformation of her being a young vampire he nodded, he had known she was young, but somehow he was expecting older than four, she was a master at killing if it was anything to go by, he could smell the two dead human's in the house. She must have plenty of practice, though even in a thousand years Alec doubted she would catch up with his own personal death toll that he had racked up working for the Volturi, which wasn't counting the people Jane and him had toyed with and accidentally murdered as humans. Then a question came up that even Alec did not know the answer to, his eyes detached themselves from her gaze and he looked down, trying to calculate years in his head, to no avail. "Honestly?" He tried one more time to think of how old he was. . . why was he even bothering?
What happened during his time era? Burning of the witches, hence why he is stuck in a 12 year olds body. "No one can remember the date of mine and my sisters transformation. . . we just remember one main detail. It was around the time they burned people they accused of being witches. If that's any indicator for you?" His own response shocked him, that was a long, descriptive sentence. Alec was NOT himself around her. Or maybe this was who he was supposed to be? [/blockquote]

Cassidy frowned noticeably when Alec looked at the ground. Her first thought was that her question had hurt him in some kind of way. Was age a touchy thing with Alec? But before Cass had more time to think over his physical response, he began to speak in that beautiful voice that was beginning to become addicting to the young vampire. "Honestly?" Despite his answer, Alec's voice made her smile. But before she could answer, the boy continued.
"No one can remember the date of mine and my sisters transformation. . . we just remember one main detail. It was around the time they burned people they accused of being witches. If that's any indicator for you?" Cassidy closed her mouth and let this new information sink it. Honestly, she didn't know around what time the witch burnings were. She'd forgotten long ago. The girl opened her mouth to reply, only to close it again. His age didn't really bother her, but the puzzle of how old he would be was getting to her.
To bring herself off of the subject, Cassidy focused on the other part of what Alec had said. "You have a sister?" she asked, ginuinely curious. Cass suddenly felt the need to learn all she could about Alec before he disappeared into the night. The thought of him leaving made her chest hurt, and that made her confused. She'd only just met him, how could she know she'd miss him that much already? And this feeling, she hadn't felt that since she was human, and even then it wasn't nearly as strong. Turning around half-way, Caddisy went back to sit on the white stairs and stared at Alec expectantly. "Come sit with me?"

The next questioned startled him. Her wonderment about his sister caught him off guard. Everyone knew he had a sister, they were twins, fire and ice. Perfect opposites of one another who blended perfectly together. He loved her more than anything in the world, and it being questioned that he even had one made him laugh. She was his half who made him whole. No matter what ever happened with Alec, Jane would always be his number one. They had been through to much together for that to change, but this girl. Something inside of Alec clicked around her, and he couldn't explain it. Still, even if somehow she was meant for him and him for her, how would she feel being put second? Jane would always come first. If it was true, if she was his "soul-mate" than she would come before the Volturi even, but Alec had long ago given up on a "soul-mate" was it really even possible for him? And what about his sister?
After his laughter subsided he smiled at the vampire, a true full blown smile and before he answered her question he accept her offer and moved to sit beside her. He had plenty of time to kill before he had to return to Aro. Somehow that made him sad, but remembering he would be seeing Jane brightened his mood again. "My sister," Alec turned his body at an angle so he was facing Cassidy. "She is my twin, my opposite in more ways than one. But the one person I have never been separated from. We have been together since the beginning through more than anyone can understand, even our Master." Alec flashed her a smile, and moved to turn the subject. "May I ask about yourself? Who were you before, or more so, what have you become?" Of course he didn't mean literally he meant how had becoming a vampire effected her life. Was it a large shock like it is to some, or a smooth transition like it was for Alec and Jane? [/blockquote]

Cassidy shrank. The way Alec laughed made her feel like she was supposed to already know about his sister. But when he came over to sit next to her, Cassidy bounced back and listened to him speak. The admiration and passion with which he spoke about his sister was amazing. It made her wish she'd had someone to start all of this with; to have someone by her side. Cassidy's eyes adverted from Alec's gaze and she looked down at the white wooden stairs. Alec had been lucky, and by the sound of it, he fully understood. It was only after a few moments did Cassidy catch something.
"Master?" she spoke softly, barely above a whisper. Was there a master in the vampire world she hadn't known about? Was it wrong to be here, was she supposed to have a master? Misworded master questions swirled around in her mind. It was Alec's voice that once again snapped her out of her vulnerable questioning state. "May I ask about yourself? Who were you before, or more so, what have you become?"
Cassidy slowly raised her head so she could gaze at Alec. Her expression was blank and unknowing. Her eyes became detattched as she thought through how becoming a vampire has changed her. Who she was before. Who she was now. Nothing voicable came up, except for, "I'm not sure. I don't remember much." Finally some thoughts came to her, and Cassidy continued. "I wasn't really anyone before my transformation. Just a normal school girl. I .. don't really remember. After, I just kinda left the city without thinking, and I've been here since then. I'm not sure how changing has affected me."
Cassidy focused her gaze on Alec's eyes, and realized what she had just shared. She hadn't even admitted those things to herself, how could she have told him that!? "I understood the question, right?" was all she thought to say next. [/blockquote]

Her expression changed slightly as he continued about his sister, and Alec's eyes continued to watch her carefully, he hadn't meant to hurt her feelings and her truly hoped he hadn't. He sighed, but was thrown back into reality when he noticed she had caught on to the word "Master". His anger rose slightly, for that word was so engraved in him when referring to Aro he had said it aloud when he hadn't meant to. A part of him wanted to protect this girl from Aro. He was sure there was more to her, but worse of all, if Aro became Aro that she could be used as leverage over him all hell could break loose.
Alec never worried when it came to Jane, she was more than capable of holding her own against Aro, and since Alec was always so close to him it was impossible for her to be used against him, but this girl here, somehow he knew that if Aro so chose to he could, and for some reason Alec would obey. Damn. "Yes, my Master." What should she tell her? Everything. "The vampire world is rules by a group called the Volturi. Aro is one of the leaders, and is the one I referred to, he changed me and my sister." Should he tell her about himself? "This cloak I wear is a symbol of my position within the Volturi, my sister and I are head of the guard." He tried to drown down the title. It was an honor, but he hated bragging.
Her description of her life captivated him, he listened, and was sad when she could hardly remember her life, but it wasn't uncommon. Many vampires forgot about their human life, and not many had a desire to gain those memories back, sometimes they came on their own, but mostly they stayed hidden forever."Yes, of course, miss Cassidy, that was a perfect answer.

Cassidy watched as conflict arose in Alec's eyes. The anger that appeared there was foriegn to the young vampire, and so all she could do was watch as he figured out what to say to her. Part of Cass wanted to blame his anger on herself; because clearly she was the only one here besides himself. But she realized almost instantly afterwards that his anger was not directed at her. This only made the girl more curious about him. What was he thinking about? As if in answer to her thoughts, Alec began to speak. "Yes, my Master." Before Cassidy could ask anything, he continued.
"The vampire world is ruled by a group called the Volturi. Aro is one of the leaders, and is the one I referred to, he changed me and my sister. This cloak I wear is a symbol of my position within the Volturi, my sister and I are head of the guard." Cassidy's face went blank as she took in the new information. "Volturi,"
she quietly repeated, still thinking. The word was so foriegn coming from her lips. Never before had she heard of a ruler of the vampire world, or leaders for that matter. Slowly Cass focused her sight on Alec and replied. "I've never heard of the Volturi." She then stopped to gather her thoughts once more. Her mind picked apart the information word by word, until she finally came to his position and what his clothes symbolized. Then she smiled. "Head of the Guard?" she repeated. "Are you mad I didn't know you then, Mr. Head Guard?" Cassidy giggled and brought her legs up beside her on the top step of the stairs where the two sat. "Is that your way of telling me I should be scared of you?" The girl's voice was soft and playful. She was not scared of him, no matter what position he held or how old he happened to be. What she was beginning to feel for him was much different than fear; and her courage impressed even herself. With Alec, she felt different. It was hard to explain. Cassidy was scared of jumping to the conclusion of love, but it certainly was on her 'watch out for' list right now. "Yes, of course, miss Cassidy, that was a perfect answer." Alec's response to her already forgotten question pulled her out of her thoughts. Again the mention of her name by the beautiful boy made her grin. Sighing happily, Cass relaxed and waited for an answer from the boy. So he was head of the Voturi Guard, eh? Seemed like a large title, and yet he didn't act like it. While she waited, Cassidy considered the fact that she could see herself falling in love with the boy.[/blockquote]

The way Volturi rolled off of her tongue frightened him a bit. It almost sounded like she was interested, not the reaction he was hoping for, but than again she was different. So he let the fear pass and he smiled as she caught another piece of his information, and then he outright laughed. "No, no, I am not mad you did not know who I was miss Cassidy, you're very young, I expected it." He gave her a smile, but his eyes were still lightened with laughter, something they had not done for many years. "Darling, you do not know what fear is. But I can show you?" Should he?
The thought of demonstrating his power to her crossed his mind, it would also allow for him to explain his fire and ice comment about him and his sister. Her fire, her pain. His ice, his numbing. Witch Twins.
His thoughts quickly focused on the vampire again, and he was amused with how relaxed she was, never before had somebody been so relaxed around him except for Jane. It was relaxing, not having another's tension in the air. Her trust in him was unearned. . . or maybe he hadn't done something to loose it. Was that how she functioned? Again he was shocked with the idea that he cared. He wanted to get to know her. [/blockquote]

"No, no, I am not mad you did not know who I was miss Cassidy, you're very young, I expected it." Cassidy smiled again. If she was young and ignorant, did that mean he was a wise old man? Somehow, the girl didn't think Alec would take kindly to that; and therefore she didn't say it. Instead she just nodded, and listened to what he said next.
"Darling, you do not know what fear is. But I can show you?" A hint of a challenge caught Cassidy's attention. He was going to cut off her senses? Strangely her first thought about this was not of what he was do to her, but of what it would be like. But, finally, she had to fact that facts. "It's not that I don't trust you Alec, but you've made it clear you have the power to kill anyone you like." Cass leaned forward playfully. "How do I know you won't want to kill me?"
The young vampire was pretty confident he didn't want to kill her; for he would have done so already if he'd wanted to. [/blockquote]

She admitted to trusting him, and once again he was thrown off his guard. Trust was not something he ever had from anyone except Jane, and when she leaned forward in a playful manner, almost challenging him Alec did something on impulse. He did something he had NEVER done before, not even with Jane. He leaned forward, met her in the middle and kissed her lightly on the lips. The movement, the gesture, was all so foreign to him. Usually when his lips touched anywhere so high on another being it was to bite into them, not to. . . well show them affection.
He rounded up his thoughts, and attempted to play it off cool, "That, my dear, is how you would know I wouldn't kill you." He gave her another true smile, and watched her reaction carefully. He had never done this before, and he worried he had judged this whole situation wrong, what if she didn't like him? What if she was just happy to be around another vampire? Alec hid his worries though, relying on one thing that had never failed him, his sense of controlling his emotions so very carefully. [/blockquote]

She had to admit. The sudden kiss from Alec was nice, but unexpected. A split second too late, Cass reacted to his touch. He was already pulling away when she instinctively leaned into the kiss. Instead of being hurt, Cassidy smiled brightly, victoriously, and when he tried to play it off she giggled and played along. "Okay! So how does this power of your's work? Show me."
Truthfully, Cass was a little worried about the shutting out of her senses, but she trusted Alec. If you wanted trust, you had to give trust in return. But Cass was a bit excited too. She hadn't met any other vampires with powers beside her own, although her power wasn't all that exciting anymore so it hadn't made a difference. Finding things and people was cool and all, but when you had no one to find or nothing to seek, it was of no use. "Show me; and I'll show you mine,"
Cass whispered quietly before turning her head to her face was bleached in the moonlight. [You should so totally just 'happen' to have something that belongs/ed to Aro or one of the members of the Volturi. I have an idea on how Cass could end up showing you her power.] [/blockquote]

She was really willing to let him test his power out on her? He almost did not want to but then he remembered he wasn't his sister. His power was not brutal, and painful. His was like Novocaine. She wouldn't feel a thing. To a predator that was even more frightening than feeling pain itself. He wondered how she would react? "OK, if you are sure." He waited for another nod and then released his power, since they were so close to one another it took only a split second and his mist reached her and engulfed her body. He watched he reaction carefully, and his hands moved to her face. She wouldn't feel it, but he wanted to know what she felt like. He had never touched someone tenderly before.
With that he let his power slide off of her body, and his hands followed shortly after. He had let her earlier comment slide, but not now. "A power? He had known that she was special, could it have been this power he felt, or was it an attraction he felt toward her. He felt a pull to her, and he did not want to leave to return back to Aro. He reached to a ring he wore on his pinky, it was his sisters ring that he wore when they were apart, for he hated not being near her. For once though this girl let him relax while he was apart from Jane. His mind was not focused on murdering anyone who harmed his dear sister. But. . . if someone did he still would harm them. "OK, if you are sure." Cassidy smiled, relaxed but a little nervous. When his power activated, Cassidy's sight was the first to go. The moon; which was so brilliantly shining on her face, disappeared into nothingness. It was a little more than frightening when everything else followed. She could no long hear the night sounds that she had gotten so used to. Her body became numb and only the strength of her life kept her body from slouching down and falling over. Immediately Cassidy realized she didn't like the blackness; it felt like her head was going to explode. The worst part was she couldn't call for help. Couldn't tell him to stop. Couldn't tell him anything, and death seemed like a logical possibility. He could have kept her there forever, and she would have never known if she was dead or not.
And before Cassidy felt like she couldn't stand it anymore; submerged in darkness and deafening nothingness, it lifted. A split second after, a light pressure on her face lifted as well. She hadn't known it was there, and the pressure that was slowly lifting off of her body disoriented her. She didn't know. She would never know. At last when the moon came back into view, her body felt like it was being thrown forward. Instinctively her body reacted and she felt forward onto the porch. As she focused her eyes on the painted wood, Cassidy pulled her body back up and smiled timidly. That was humliating.
"Okay. Maybe that was a little scary." she admitted, her voice shaking. What a power that was! She could understand now what he meant by 'fire and ice'. Suddenly she wanted some type of reassurance that she was still alive. Quickly, and without thinking, the young vampire grabbed his hand and scotted closer to him. She closed her eyes and threaded her fingers through his, waiting for the moment when he would pull away. "A power?" he had finally said, and Cass smiled forcefully. "Perhaps."
she said, her voice still shaking but her face relaxed. It was harder for someone to actually experience or see her power than it was with Alec's. "I can, find things. Find people," she said slowly, her eyes still closed as she focused on his hand. "You wouldn't happen to have a possession of someone else's on you, would you?"[/blockquote]

For the first time in Alec's life the look of fear on someone's face due to his actions hurt him. He could see it, smell it, and it was because of his power that she had been afraid. He felt guilty, but took comfort in knowing his power was nothing like his sisters. Hers caused more than just fear, Jane causes true pain. Thankfully he had never experienced the wrath of his sister, but he had seen many others fall instantly from her skills. He did love to watch his sister in action. Then another thought arose, his sister. . . how would she react to his behavior? Never before had Alec taken an interest in someone, he would have to tell her. He wanted Jane to be the first to know. It was only right. Another first time for Alec, he was scared of his sister. He wouldn't want to hurt her, and after as many years of being alone with only one other, bringing someone into the equation might not be. . . accepted.
Cassidy reacted quickly, and regained her composer just as fast. He felt her hand reach for his and stared in awe as her fingers threaded through his own. His mind focused on the action, and his lips turned up into a smile at the gesture. Warmth radiated from her hand, and he felt the warmth throughout his entire body, he felt desire, he felt protective. Something inside of him wanted to claim her as his, something inside of him changed. And he feared it would never change back, he would never be the same Alec, well at least not around Cassidy.
His attention came back and rested on her blood-red eyes. She was a tracker? A tracker of a different sort. That would be something Aro would crave, and maybe that could get her on the Volturi guard, then he could be with her. . . but would that be something he would want to put her through? Then his loyalty to Aro returned, it wouldn't matter Aro would find out about her sooner rather than later, and it was better that it would be from one of his prized guard members. As he concluded that he would inform Aro about her he pulled off the ring he had been wearing and held it in his palm for her to take. "My sister's ring." He gave a shy smile, could he explain to her that being away from Jane was very painful for him? Would she understand the need he had to somehow always be connected to her? Maybe that was something best kept between Jane and Alec. It had been their secret for years, and would remain that way, unless, of course she figured it out for herself, eventually. [/blockquote]

Cassidy smiled warmly as she opened her eyes to retrieve the ring. His expression made her feel loved, wanted even. Reluctantly, Cass unwound her hand from his and slowly, the young vampire reached out for the ring, handling it delicately. It was obvious there was something special about this ring. Something besides the fact that it belonged to Alec's twin sister. Taking the ring in one hand, and extending the other one to rest on his shoulder, Cassidy turned to face Alec. He would want to see the only physical change her power brought about. Her eyes.
Cass blinked once fast and immediately the blood-red color of her eyes darkened to a black. It almost looked as if she were hungery; starving beyond belief. Then her irises lightened to a bright purple; something that looked foriegn and weird on her body. Then the vision of Jane started. She was in a large chamber; talking quickly and silently to another guard member. Her expression was blank. Cold even. Cassidy's vision ducked out of the castle walls and showed the front gate of the city. Volterra.
And just like that the vision went black. The purple color drained from her eyes, but this time they did not turn back to red. Before she could do anything else she whispered; "Volterra.." Her vision was blank, rendered her momentarily blind. Cass's hand clutched softly onto Alec's should for support as she began to sway slightly. The effects of her power were never desirable. But the outcome was amazing. "In a chamber?"
she said questioningly. Timidly the girl sniffed the air. There was no fresh blood around; which was something she had completely forgotten about. As her vision began to return, she slowly leaned on Alec more and more. Her hunger was devestating; for never had she found someone with such power in her visions. It'd taken more out of her than she'd thought it would. The scent the humans she'd killed before Alec had arrived drifted around her tauntingly. They were already dead and drained; and therefore of no use. It was taking all of her will-power not to run into the night without Alec, searching for pray. "Are you hungry?" she asked, hopeing, perhaps, that they could go hunting after he observed her power and it's affects. [/blockquote]

Alec watched as Cassidy took the one thing on earth more important to him than his sister herself. He smiled at her warmly though, and took a deep breath. His eyes never left the other vampire. He felt more than saw her hand reach up to rest on his shoulder and he lent her his support. Then suddenly her eyes shifted colors, he watched as they turned black and than was shocked when they shifted to purple. He kept his eyes focused even more intently on her, and wondered if this was how Jasper Hale felt when Alice Cullen was having visions. He was almost nervous, and he could feel her energy being taken from her body. He wanted nothing more than to wrap her in his arms, and never let her go, but Alec knew better than that. He would not disturb her, not when she was so focused.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, he eyes shifted to black. He was startled to see they did not turn back to red, and quickly knew she must be hungry. Before he could comment though, she said a word. . . then three. She had seen his sister. "Wha-- What was she doing?" at the mention of Jane he instantly wanted to run to her, but also felt compelled to help Cassidy, to know her better. . . to be with her. He was torn. Alec's eyes observed her eyes closer, and knew she was much to close to hunger, she needed to hunt. Shortly after the thought was processed, she asked him if he himself was hungry. Alec thought about it briefly and smiled. "Yes, I suppose I am. Care to hunt together?" Before the conversation could make any other twists or turns though, Alec held out his hand, silently asking for his sister's ring back. He felt naked without the ring with his sister being so far away from him.
Even with his desperate need to see his sister he knew he would hunt with her. He wasn't sure when he would see her again, and he wasn't willing to say goodbye to her just yet. "Do you have a place in mind? Or shall we just walk around until we find some humans?" This time Alec flashed a deadly smile. When he was in a hunting mood, he was determined to hunt. His mouth began to water and all of his senses focused on the world around him. Hunting with someone new would be fun. . . maybe one day the two could make a habit of it. That part would depend on Aro and Cassidy. But. . . Alec could dream. Something he had not done for many years. Why did this particular vampire influence him so? He wanted to find out. He would. . . with time. [/blockquote]

"Wha-- What was she doing?" Cass forced a smile to shine through her suffering hunger. "It looked like she was talking to someone. She didn't seem happy either." Quickly, Cass looked down at the cloak Alec was wearing, and continued. "She was talking to someone with a cloak not entirely unlike yours on. Rather large and muscular. Dark red eyes?"
Cass shook her head. She knew she was not giving a good enough description for Alec to know who it was. Truth was, Cassidy was absorbed in his sister; Jane. She didn't notice the other man all that much. "She is beautiful," Cass said to Alec and smiled genuinly. She was, truthfully. She looked almost exactly like Alec, it was amazing. Then he smiled and said, "Yes, I suppose I am. Care to hunt together?" When he held out his hand again, Cass though it was to take her's. When she shifted her hand to grab his, she realized she was still holding the ring he had given her. Smilingly pitifully, and trying to hold herself together on such little blood, the girl dropped the ring into his waiting hand. Then she grinned and replyed. "I would love to." Then she got up and looked out into the distance. She almost missed it when he asked her if she knew where she wanted to go. "Honestly, I usually just walk around trying to hunt down trails until I find a house. This place truely is bare and spaced." It disgusted her actually. The country was cool and all, but she had been born and raised in a crazy busy city, so the country was really boring to her. The deadly smile Alec flashed her rouse her senses and she literally had to stop herself from bounced in anticipation.[/blockquote]

From the description she gave him about who Jane had been talking to he had a slight idea. But it did not matter, for she was at home waiting for him, unhappy. Then he wanted to be with her all that much more. His sister felt the same pain he felt when they were apart, Alec felt almost guilty for enjoying this other vampire's company. Almost. If it hadn't been for the attraction he felt toward her he would feel completely guilty. But still he would have to explain this to Jane, sooner rather than later. Hopefully she took it well. One could only hope.
At Cassidy's remark he smiled, his sister was beautiful, in every way, and when her ring was back in his hand he wasted no time in slipping the ring back over his finger, having it back on reminded him how naked he felt without it. Some might consider it pathetic, but not him. His love for his sister was just. . . too powerful for him to care. With his attention back on Cassidy he could hear the strain in her voice, and knew she needed to feed, and soon. He took her hand and ran. He knew she could keep up, she was strong, and quick.
The two ran together for a minute until a familiar smell entered within Alec's senses. He quickly halted, and watched as Cassidy did the same. A smile played across his lips when he nodded his head at her. Humans. Nearby. His senses kicked in once more, and his mind focused on nothing more than hunting, then eating the humans that were only seconds away from them. But Alec was a true gentlemen. He would let his lady have first dibs. "Either of them take your fancy?" Alec turned his gaze to Cassidy, his eyes not moving from her blackened eyes, it had been a long time since he had ever been THAT hungry. But. . . he did know her pain. Something he intended to erase momentarily. [/blockquote]

Cassidy smirked through her pain, and then they were off. The feel of his hand on hers captured her attention momentarily. How peaceful it was. And then, the two came to a stop. While Alec turned back to smile at her, Cass's eyes went wide. Fresh blood was near and it was making her insane. "Either of them take your fancy?" Through her trance the girl giggled. Alec had such a way with words! It was sweet, but also pretty funny. Then her face smoothed over as she scanned the couple who were taking a stroll in the moonlight.
A wicked smiled played on her lips, and before she could stop herself, she went rushing towards the young woman. Before the woman had time to react, Cass took her head in her hands, and smiled. Then with a sickening crack she twisted the neck, and sank her teeth into the flesh. Her hunger ruled her as she fed, completely unaware of the other human or Alec. Quickly she finished the woman, and her eyes soon after caught up to a dull crimson. It wasn't her normal color but she was okay for now. Then she turned back to Alec with an apologetic look on her face. "Did you want the other one?"

Without much warning Cassidy was on the human women, and Alec followed suit and took the male. He drained the man quickly, still alive, while Cassidy had had the decency to at least kill her victim first. He smiled at the thought as he watched the vampire finish her meal and look back at him. She asked a simple, silly question that had him smiling, before he licked his lips and shook his head. He noticed her eyes were still not at their brightest, but knew his own were.
While Cassidy was still staring at him he walked closer to her, and held her eyes briefly before bending down and licking the remainder of the blood from around her lips. Before pulling completely away he place another kiss on her lips, and then turned his attention on the setting sun. His mind began calculating the long trip home, but he would wait, just a bit longer. To spend more time with her. Jane would not be happy. [/blockquote]

Alec smiled and came over to her, which had her smiling too. He held her eyes for a moment, in which she stared back, entranced by his eyes. It was weird. He looked well fed with just one human, but then it occured to her that he wasn't starving like she was. The side effects of her power was horrible, but in truth seeing Jane had been more out of her than she had expected. Over the last few years, the young vampire had noticed that her power also gauged power and strength. The more powerful the person she was seeing, the more it took out of her.
And then he leaned in and licked the remaining blood she had not noticed off her face. A huge, sweet grin consumed her face in time for him to peck her lips. The grin stood in place but silently she wished she had had time to react. With the touch her stomach rose up and fluttered, then quieted as her pulled away. It was so sweet, and she found herself wanting to kiss him again. The thought then consumed her mind.
Then he turned to look at the rising sun. The sight of it pure torture. She knew he couldn't stay here with her, he was too important to the 'Volturi'. And he probably didn't think of her as that special. Sighing, Cass said, "Are you leaving?" There was unconceiled sadness in her voice.

The sadness in her voice took his thoughts completely away from his sister. For the first time in his life he was truly torn. He wanted to be with his sister. His other half. But he also wanted to stay with this vampire. He knew that if he told her talent to Aro though, that Aro would send for her. That could be beneficial to him. That way he could have both his sister and this vampire together.
First thing first though, he would have to tell his sister about her prior to her coming to join the guard. Another reason he needed to get back. Alec contemplated just taking her with him now, but Aro would much rather come get her from previous experience with his master. Aro liked to keep up his appearances, and ordering someone to retrieve her was more his style. So. . . Alec would do what he must. . . shortly. "Soon, I must." He took Cassidy's hand and kissed it. "But, you are still hungry I see. I would love to stay with you until you have eaten your fill if you do not mind?" He was not ready to leave her just yet. He could stretch it out still, for a little bit longer. [/blockquote]

"Soon, I must." Cassidy nodded. She knew he wouldn't stay much longer. Where had the time gone? Then he kissed her hand and she struggled to hold back a small smile, failing miserably. "But, you are still hungry I see. I would love to stay with you until you have eaten your fill if you do not mind?" And suddenly her smile disappeared. Replaced by embarrassment. "Oh. No, I'm fine! But, I do wish you wouldn't leave."
This time the emotion she held was conceiled nicely. She was trying to tell him to not leave, but not sound desperate. Because she wasn't, and refused to give herself over to that for a guy, not matter how appealing he was to her in all aspects so far. Slowly and cautiously, Cass leaned forward and reached out for his hand. Avoiding his eyes, she kept her head down and her sights on the ring he bore on his finger. Lightly she held his hand and brought it up to her. Slight realization came to her as she pieced together some of his actions over the thing. His sister; Jane. She was much more than Cass could ever comprehend or be to Alec, and he missed her dearly. Cassidy was just keeping him here while he could be on his way home to see his beloved twin. Immediately, the young vampire consealed the feeling of selfishness she had, ahd she kept her face perfectly calm and blank.
"Will you be coming back?"
she spoke slowly, keeping emotions out of her words as best she could. She felt very dramatic all of a sudden, but she didn't care much. [ick bad post][/blockquote]

A wave of disappointment coursed throughout Alec's veins when she stated she was fine, and would not need another hunt. He was looking for any excuse possible to stay with her a little longer before he must return back to his master, but most of all to his beloved-ed sister, Jane. Cassidy's thoughts must have been along the same wave length for withing seconds she was asking if he would return to her. He would see her again, that he was sure of, but. . .
Grasping her hand and flipping it over Alec spoke, "I will not be returning here again. . ." Alec gave Cassidy a kiss on the back of her hand, "But, I do have other plans in mind to insure I see you again. I have no intention of leaving her and forgetting about you my dear." How could he explain this? "I have lived a long life Cassidy, with not one but my sister and the Volturi. You have changed me, in a way I have never drempt possible, I will not just let you walk out of my life now, nor with I walk out of yours." Alec pulled Cassidy by her arm to him, until his arms were wrapped around her, and he was holding her tightly. He did not want to leave her either. . .

"I will not be returning here again. . ." Slight joy arose as he grasped her hand and flipped it over. That was, until she realized what it was he had said. Silently, she froze. She didn't want to feel this way. It was heartbreaking, and pathetic. "But, I do have other plans in mind to insure I see you again. I have no intention of leaving here and forgetting about you my dear." A slight sad smile appeared on her lips. She wanted to believe him, but the reality seemed to work against her. She had already seemed to work her emotions into a slump, and something that sounded this good didn't seem real anymore.
"I have lived a long life Cassidy, with not one but my sister and the Volturi. You have changed me, in a way I have never drempt possible, I will not just let you walk out of my life now, nor with I walk out of yours." Cassidy rose her head slightly to look up at him. How reassuring his face was to her. Angelic and passionate. Lovely. But still... She was not sure. "And I have lived such a short one. And even still, no one like you has appeared before me. I wish for nothing more than for you to stay, or take me with you. But I know you can't. And I can't help but believe you are falsely reassuring me. How exactly do you plan to see me again? You live and serve the Volturi, Alec. That is a world I still do not know. A world, it seems to me, I do not belong.
"So tell me if you are lying." Cassidy felt distant. Cold. Afriad of what he was about to say. He was leaving, never to be seen again. Tonight was just a one-time event. There was no way she could have changed him that deeply. He would not seek her after his departure.
[woah. dramatic much. sorry xD]

A small, sad smile broke across Alec's face, but of course she could not believe him just yet. They had only just met, yet it felt like he had already known her forever. He sighed, but replied. "Dear Cassidy, you belong more in my world then even you are aware of at this moment in time, but soon my dear. Soon." He did not want to out-right inform her about Aro, and how he worked. He did not want to frighten her away, thinking she would be giving her life up for servitude. If ever she wanted to leave the Volturi, to leave him. . . Aro would not stop her.
No saying that Alec himself wouldn't.
Again Alec brushed a kiss across her lips. "You have nothing to fret, we will be together soon enough, and only time can prove that to you, but I must return home, so everything else can move forward." Including informing Jane of what has happened. Still he feared her sadness, hatred, anything. He could NOT bear Jane to be upset with him or for her to feel replaced. [/blockquote]
