As soon as he entered the cover of the trees, Embry ran as far and as fast as he could before his emotions could catch up with him. He sat down on a fallen tree and put his head in his hands. "Don't cry you idiot!" He ordered himself. It didn't matter if he was all alone in the deep heart of the woods, he wasn't going to cry. It was hard to keep from doing so. "Don't cry! Don't you dare!" He prompted himself.
He felt so betrayed, so used. Why did this have to happen, to him? What was the point of him imprinting on a girl that was already taken and already a mother? It wasn't fair! "Don't! Cry!" and he was just going to take the next step and tell Charlotte about wolves and imprinting. Why did this have to happen to him, out of all the other wolves on the two packs. Why him? "Don't you dare!"
Embry would have confront the situation differently if it were not his imprintee and instead just a simple girlfriend. He would have gone up to them and he would have found out what was going on. But he hadn't been able to do it. Charlotte looked so happy... and to ruin that would have made him feel bad. But this felt twenty times worse.
The girl he so desprately loved and so badly needed... he couldn't have her. Why did fair have to be so cruel? What had he done wrong? What had he done to deserve this?! "NO!"

Leah was a little pissed off.
Not in a bad way, more in a haha I am going to bite you, way. She had been hiking and trying to do as much human like actives as she could, so she would pass out and be to tired to phase. If you were to tired long enough, you just stopped all together, right?
As it was, she wasn't getting to tired, she was getting to annoyed. First the hiking buddies couldn't keep up (Stupid humans) and then Jasper couldn't make it (Stupid leech) and then it was about to rain, and as a human she couldn't make it back to town to beat the storm (Stupid weather). It was phase, or walk HOURS and HOURS in the rain, storm, and who knew what else would be coming. Stupid, stupid, stupid . . . Well walk she would!
'Take that weather!' Leah thought in her head. She turned and started walking when she noticed in the distance a fellow pack member who was also running for cover. However, he looked to be running FROM the town, rather then to the safety of the town. "Em?" Leah asked with out raising her voice. He would hear her, wolf thing. "Em, what's up?" And where the hell are you going in a hurry. . . . Wait!
"If there a fight I am missing?!" Leah asked as she turned to follow him. What if it was a leech, or Paul gone rabid?

Oh joy, Leah was coming. But her tone apon asking him what was wrong was weirdly concerned and had no hint of snobbiness behind it. Embry took a deep breath, and raised his face from his hands, rubbing it in the process. Leah was not the person he would choose to talk to about this, if he would even want to talk about it, but he had no choise.
The corner of his mouth twitched at her next question. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "If only that were the problem." His voice was practically a whisper, mainly because he feared if he spoke louder it would crack. Emb sighed again, then looked over at Leah. "You're right about this wolf thing; it isn't fair." he told her plainly. Sure, it did not explain very much about his problem, it could mean a lot of different things. When he had first phased he found it was unfair, but he had made peace and had grown to love the wolf life with time. But now...
Embry staired ahead of him at the vast forest of green, blankly. Now he had to try harder to hold back from crying because Leah was there, and if she saw him cry... people would find out and think he's a softy... the pack would find out... perhaps even Sam'e pack would find out... oh how the guys would love to rub it in. Em was not taking that chance. He gave an other heavy sigh, and figured he should explain more. "Tell me... how does it feel... when you see him with Emily -- Sam?" He knew this was a touchy subject for Leah, but it was probably the best compairison he could make so she would understand.

Leah was about to laugh because he called her right but froze when he asked about how she felt. Her fist balled up and they shook as she fought not to phase and rip into him for daring to ask her something so personal and hurtful. She just stood there however for some long moments, before finally being able to speak. "W-what?" She just barley got out around the pain slicing though her and her teeth that were grinding. WHY did he want to know about THAT? Leah just stood there trying to think of why. "W-w-what?!"

Embry knew Leah was peeved and would probably lash out at him and even phase, but he ignored it. He was too absorbed, feeling like such an idiot, hating how destiny worked out like this for him. He sighed miserably. "I'm sorry, Leah, but I thought you'd understand." Em was very obviously not himself. He couldn't help it, he was crushed.
"It's Charlotte." He clairafied before Leah would get to ripping him appart. "Stupid imprinting..." He mumbled, his hands curled into fists against his head.

Leah knew she should give him a solid right hook, spin around and then run as fast as she could to ruin his day more. However, she couldn't do it. Leah sat down beside him gave a sigh of annoyance. Damn it. Damn Imprinting. Stupid white girl imprintee. "It's---" It was what? Huh. "Just because I have had my heart ripped out and broken doesn't mean I am gonna 'understand' every time your imprintee plays human or something!" Leah snapped the sighed again.
"It sucks." She admitting. "But Emily was my best friend. I called her my sister most days. Sam might not have had a choice in who he imprinted on, but part of me is so bitter at her because I can't help but to think she did have a choice."
Leah looked down at her hands for a moment. "There are days when I hate her, and there are days, that I want nothing more then to run to her hug her and cry. Sometimes I see her scars and this she got what she deserved and then I hate my self for it. Sometimes, I want to hurt Sam for hurting her. . . . "
"I don't know what you wanted to hear Em, but that is as honest as I have ever been with anyone, and if you repeat a word of it, I will kill you." She looked over at time. "What did the white girl do to make you risk your life by asking me this?" This was Leah being compassionate in her own way. She had only replayed as she could see he was hurting.

Embry looked over at Leah as she sat down next to him. He listened to what she had to say, watching her decompressed a little. He sighed, he knew about her past. How Sam had been with her, but left her because he had imprinted on Emliy. But he had never known this much about the story. He felt sympathetic towards, now that he felt some of her pain. "Leah... I'll keep this to myself, and not think of it if my mind is being shared." His voice was sincere. "I promise." He had almost completely forgotten his own issues by then.
Arg, fight the tears, damn it. He told himself as he ran his hand though his head and looked ahead. "I wouldn't have minded if you would have killed me," He took in a sharp breath and sighed. "She's got a kid, Leah. And a husband. I saw them..." His eyes wanted to water, but he took some heavy breaths for a moment. "She looked so happy... Her daughter even has her name," They could of had a daughter, they could have named her Charlotte. Embry shook his head to clear his head. "I was going to tell her today -- about what we are... I was ready for her reaction, but I wasn't ready for this... I don't think I could have been ready for this, ever." Having his heart shattered to peices within seconds. "I want to be with her, but I can't ruin that for her, I want her to be happy."

Leah wasn't sure what she expected to hear but it wasn't that. "Huh." Was all she could get out. Her mouth hun slightly open as she stared at Em for a moment. "huh." She repeated again dumbly feeling slightly put in her place. At lest Emily didn't have kids yet. She knew that Em could either live his life in pain or break up a happy family.
GOODNESS IMPRINT SUCKED!
"Wow," Leah said still trying to take it in. "Be it the great ansateral powers or cupid, they got bad aiming in there match making skills." Leah wasn't about to get all soft on him but she knew sort of how he felt. To see the one you love happy with someone else. "You can't compare my love life to yours kid,-" Leah was older then him and mostly called them kid to annoy them, now however it was more of a loving nickname. "-I wasn't meant to be with Sam. You were emnt to be with her. We can spy on them or something? Is this the white chick I meet the other day at the dinner? She looked a little young to be a mom, and a wife. . . . you sure, kid?"

Embry's face fell into his hands, and his fingers clutched to his short hair. His legs started to shake. Was that all she had to say? Huh.? Arg! He knew Leah was the wrong person to talk about this with... But he couldn't talk about this with the other wolves, especially since he was geting this emotional. He tried his best to calm down, and not to cry; so far he managed. He sighed, a little irritated. "God damn Imprinting." He agreed with her statement. But Emb wasn't feeling any better! And the only person who could make it better was the whole reason he was breaking to peices.
He rubbed his face and looked over at Leah. "I know it's not to same, but it's close enough." He pointed out in a brutle tone, not really meaning it to come out like that. "We both love someone we can't have." He felt like a schmuck, getting so sappy.
Embry suddenly turn angrier, his hands and legs shook. "Why the hell would I want to spy on them? It'll only torture me more!" He spat, standing up. "Yes, her! Charlotte! And yes, I'm damn sure!" He had to calm down... arg! He didn't want to phase and let whoever was on patrol -- was it Paul and Jared, right now? -- know what was going on. "Arg," He added with an other sigh, and he walked in a small circle, runing his hand through his hair as he tried to calm down. "Leah, I saw her. At the beach. With him," His expression went bitter. "And her little girl was screaming: "Mommy! Mommy!". And she took her in her arms. Now if that doesn't mean that she's her mother, than I must have a problem!" He stopped pacing.

"Huh" She said again and looked around at the trees. She wasn't going to yell at him for yelling at her. Not right now, you didn't kick a dog while he was down (Pun meant). Had it been any normal day, Leah would have taken a bite out of him, and not just with her words either. She didn't ever want to give them a reason to call her the girl wolf or the weak link. Being she was Em's ranking officer sort of, in this wolf army, she guess she was doing it right.
"I know this sucks, but she just looked so young. She either is the not the real mother, or . . . . she--" Leah didn't finish her statement because there was nothing nice to say. A teenage girl with a kid, meant she started young. Too young. "Spying might us get a felt for things. Maybe you will find out he beats her and she needs your help badly." Leah then tossed in an slightly un-funny joke. "If we killed him, they would never find finger prints on him." Very, very un-funny.
