She wanted to go to La Push to be around her Quil and her aunt Emmy. Unfortunately Emily was on a shopping trip with Rachael and Quil was off with Jacob. It was Emily who suggested Charlotte. Lottie was Embry's imprintee and Claire had yet to meet her. Claire had picked out her own clothes today, her mom had a tendency to dress her and her sister alike and Claire didn't appreciate that most days. Today she wore a pale pink dress that tied in the back with a black satin bow. She was a Converse fiend and was wearing black tights and a pair or sparky pink low top Converse. She was worried that Charlotte wasn't going to like her and she didn't know why. Her mother dropped off Lily and then began to drive toward La Push. When her mother stopped the car Claire carefully climbed down from the car and stood very close to her mothers leg. In a few moments she would meet Charlotte and she was nervous.

It was the sound of a thump that awoke Charlotte from her nap. Her eyes flickered open, and she realized that she had flipped onto the floor from her couch. She chuckled softly to herself, shaking her head. She did not remember a nightmare of any sort, and was surprised that she had accidently rolled off of her leather coach. With a yawn, she stood up and waited for her vision to adjust. Her eyes flashed to the wall clock, and she realized that she was supposed to babysit Claire, Quil's imprint, in less than an hour.
"Oh, what a great way to start out." Lottie murmured to herself. She stood up, and went to her bathroom. She splashed some ice cold water on her face, and was awake within seconds. She shivered gently, and wiped it all of her face. She realized she could have just had a class or coffee or find some energy drink. "Too late." She muttered to herself. She looked at her hair, that looked like a rat's nest. She fought with the tangle for about fifteen minutes, and decided that there was no way it would ever straighten for her.
Charlotte made her way to her closet, and looked at her clothes. She was in the tank top and shorts that she had slept in last night, still. She quickly changed into some distress (torn) jeans, and a plain dark pink tee. She looked at her face, and decided that it was well enough to go without make-up. Besides, she did not have a good enough amount of time to apply it. She glanced outside of her front window, and was surprised to already see a car there. With a glance at the clock, she realized they were on time.
Forcing herself to blink a few times, Charlotte looked at Claire. She was a cute girl. She could hardly see her though, since she was hiding behind her mother's leg. She brushed her hair back behind her ears, and walked to her door. She nearly tripped over the rug, but caught herself by using the wall for support. She unlocked the door with a click, and smiled a polite smile at both Claire and her mother. "Hello! She said happily.

Charlotte looked nice, she sounded nice too. "I don't know whats wrong with her, shes usually so outgoing." Claire's mother explained and Claire giggled "Me Claire." She said to Charlotte and ran up to hug Charlotte's leg. "Okay thats more like her." Claire's mother said with a small laugh. Claire stopped listening while she told Charlotte who to call if she had any problems or if Claire became too much of a burden. She just looked up at Charlotte and smiled. "Pretty hair." She commented pulling on her own long hair. it was tied back into pig tails but it still reached bellow her shoulders. Claire's mother must have been about to leave because she kissed Claire's cheek and told her to be good. "Ok momma." She promised

The smile across her face grew slightly bigger as Claire came up and hugged Charlotte by the leg. She chuckled along with her mom, and listened carefully to all of the numbers she gave her. She had a fairly good memory, so they should not be too hard for her to remember them all. She nearly laughed at the thought of the girl being to much of a burden. She seemed like such a sweet little girl. She had been the baby sitter for the kids in her neighborhood, so she had a few years of experience already.
"Pretty hair," Lottie looked down as Claire spoke to her. She smiled at the compliment. "Thank you, you hair is pretty to." She said with another smile. She seemed to smile to much for her own good, but she did not mind. She put a gentle hand on Claire's shoulder. She watched the girl's mother leave, and then bent down closer to her level. "Well, Claire, I'm Charlotte. But you can call me Lottie. What do you want to do?" Once again, she spoke with a grin. She loved little kids, especially little girls.
Charlotte could remember pretty clearly babysitting her own little sister and brother as a young teenager. Her parents went out to parties often, as they were pretty popular in the town. Her brother had most certainly been a burden to her, but it's not like she had a number to call to get rid of him. Her sister was definitely not a burden, which was one of the reasons she loved little girls so much.

Quil either got down to her level or picked her up and when other people did this it made Claire feel important. "Lotte love Embry?" Claire asked She was one of those little girls who actually listened to the adults talk. She didn't like to be left out of things and she loved all news having to do with the pack. She reached out and touched Charlotte's. cheek. "Embry nice. He play hide and seek" She said with a little giggle Claire played with the end of one pig tail. "Claire marry Quil. Me Quil princess." She explained her little face serious. (I'm Quil's princess)

Charlotte's dark brown, near black eye's widened at the young girl's statement. She was curious how she could know about Embry and the imprinting. She must pay a lot more attention at this age than she had when she was her age. She pursued her lips for a moment, before sighing lightly. "Well, you must pay a lot of attention to know something like that. But, that is between me and Embry, Claire." She told her gently. She could only imagine the shade of pink her cheeks would be at the moment.
Lottie was not one to talk to people, unless they were extremely close to her, about her love life. She just found it extremely awkward, and was grateful when Claire spoke again and had changed the subject from her. She chuckled softly at the girl. "Yes, Claire, Quil is all yours. None of us adults are going to get in your way from having him when you're older." She said with a polite grin. She picked her up gently, using her hip to hold her up easier. She was fairly strong for her size and age, but she did not work out a lot.
Not that Claire was heavy, she was the opposite of that. Charlotte was just not used to carrying weights around with her. She carried her into the house, and managed to close the door with her foot. She did not even bother to try to lock it, as she could only hold her balance on one foot so long.

Since she shared her secrets she didn't under stand why everybody wouldn't. She smiled at Lottie. "OK" She agreed nodding She looked down at her shoes and watched them sparkle in the sun for a moment before looking up at Lottie. "Claire get Quil!" She shrieked giggling, "Quil get Claire!" She said When Lottie picked Claire up she giggled and grinned widely. "Pretty house." She commented, as she and Lottie made there way inside.

Charlotte was grateful that she had agreed, and not pushed the subject of Embry any farther. She could feel the blush slowly starting to fade from her tan cheeks. She laughed at her comment about Quil, softly of course. She could tell that she was very protective of him, and that would let no one get in her way of him. She could only imagine what might happen to them. Claire may be young, but that made her seem all the more innocent and gave her the surprise for an attack against someone.
"Thank you." Lottie said to Claire with a smile. The downstairs portion of her house had been unpacked mostly, including this room. She only upstairs room that was not filled with boxes at the moment was her office, where she would totally destroy the come of fall. She knew school was going to murder her, so to say, and give her hardly any time for a social life. It was going to be difficult to balance everything on her plate.

She knew when Charlotte set her down everything would look different, huge compared to her. She was a rough and tumble little girl, she'd have to be, to be Quil's imprintee but she had her girlie side. "Claire and Lotte play Princess? Hide and Seek? Lotte cook Claire stir?" She was excited to spend time with Charlotte, who seemed like she could be quite fun. Claire listed a couple things the girls could do together not really sure what Lotte wanted to do. "Toys." Claire said pointed back outside to a little bag her mother had left by the front of the house. Her mother could be a little forgetful at times. When she had stepped up to Charlotte's door she placed the bag on the side of the house and had promptly forgotten about it. Claire smiled and and sighing a little rested her head on Charlotte's shoulder.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Charlotte placed Claire up on the counter, so it would be easier for them to see eye to eye. That made the little girl about two or three inches below her, but it was easier than over a foot below. She listened to the options she gave, holding back a soft chuckle. She was never one that preferred to chose things, always leaving the decisions up to everyone else. One thing confused her. Stir? Did she mean stir fry? She was not sure, but decided against asked her.
Hide and seek might be interesting. Lottie knew about the empty and full boxes scattered across her house, but out of the main living space. There was over a hundred boxes in her home at the moment, at least. It could probably take hours to find her, searching through all of the boxes and then the regular hiding spots. Of course, she was not sure how creative Claire was. There were probably a lot of spaces in this house that she would not look for at first.
Glancing outside by following Claire's finger, Char looked at the bag of toys. She disappeared outside, and fairly quickly returned with the bag of toys. She also set them on the counter, and then leaned back against the counter less than a yard away. A grin was planted on her face. "I don't know. What does Claire want to do?" She spoke with another grin. She still wondered what the young girl had meant by 'stir.'

When she was cooking with her aunt Emmy, she always did the same thing. Lots of times when she was over with her aunt Emmy and they were cooking she would be making cookies or something for the pack and Claire would get to stir the mix.
As Charlotte left to get her bag of toys, Claire eyed the sink. She loved to play in water but she usually made a mess and she didn't want to be a bad girl with Charlotte. She promised her momma she'd be good and although the sink was very close and looked like a lot of fun, she waited for Charlotte to come back inside like a good girl would. Being with Quil had taught her some less than good habits. She loved to do things that he said not to around him because he'd pick her up and tickle her for it later. The only time she really listened to Quil was when his voice got really serious and then she would promise to be good, and mean it. She wasn't bad around other people unless something was just too tempting to ignore. She wasn't a perfect angel after all, she was a curious two year old.
When Charlotte brought the bag of toys and set it beside Claire she giggled and reached inside pulling out an American Girl Doll named Kit. "Lotte, Claire, Kit hide and seek?" She questioned hugging the doll to her in one arm. The doll was almost half her size, Claire was a small two year old. She still hadn't caught up to her twin sister Lily in height or weight. Most people thought Lily was a year older than Claire.
Claire was so young, hide and seek with her was a little too easy. Most of the time she hid in almost plain view and could not help but giggle a little too loudly giving away her hiding spot.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ahh, Charlotte vaguely recognized the doll. She had heard quite a bit about American Girl's, mainly from her one hundred hours of community service required from high school that she spent with children, and baby sitting. She would not have been able to place a name to the doll if she had not said the name. That, she was grateful. She would have been pretty embarrassed if she had called it the wrong name, like Molly or something. She was pretty sure that that was a name of one of the girls that a young girl had had before.

A surprise was an understatement when Lottie heard the song 'Knock, Knock' by Lenka coming from her pocket. She hadn't remember putting her phone in her pocket, and was surprised that she hadn't turned it off. She jumped slightly. She fumbled slightly, and turned off her old phone. Would she ever get rid of it? Probably not for a few years or so, or atleast until it completely died. She was a little too attached to it to see it be thrown away or sold to some stranger.
Hide and seek seemed fair. Charlotte was not sure of Claire's exact age, but knew it would be older than she looked. The doll she held was around half her size, which meant that girl was pretty small. Lotte had been a big baby, quite literally. She was born just under ten pounds, which was a lot since her mother was a petite woman. She pushed the thoughts away. "Okay! Shall you hide first?" She said with a little extra enthusiasm. She had played this game too many times to count, but didn't look that way. Ahh, the amazing art of acting.

She was surprised when Lottie didn't hold the phone up to her ear and talk to it, like most adults did. Instead she seemed to ignore it and Claire was even more puzzled. "No talk?" Claire asked She swung her feet back and forth and smiled. "Claire like song." She said Lottie seemed so excited to play hide and seek and that made Claire giggle. She held her arms out to Lottie, being stuck on the counter if she didn't let her down. "Claire hide." She said nodding. She seemed to have forgotten her doll, hide and seek was one of her favorite games, one of the best things to distract her with. She looked at Lottie, her little eyes so trusting and smiled, today would be fun. ((I baby sat today for a girl this age. She had the most innocent face. Of course hide and seek consisted of hiding under a beach towel in the kitchen. It was so cute, this little giggling lump in the middle of the floor ))

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When the doll started to fall, Charlotte bent over; she barely managed to catch it. It nearly slipped out of her grasp, but she caught it by it's wrist. She had never had too much of a problem with her coordination, but still tripped every once in a while. She didn't really mind it too much, as she had had friends who were major klutz. She was glad that she didn't trip about every five minutes or so, while her clumsy friends would get extremely annoyed with it. Those were the funny moments that she remembered fairly clearly.
Lottie shook her head when she questioned her not answering the phone. She didn't always answer the phone, even when she was doing nothing. Sometimes she just wasn't in the talking mood. She was babysitting today as her excuse. She gently picked up Claire, setting her on the ground. She was glad she wasn't as weak as she had been earlier in the year, or that might have hurt her back. After caring around five or so textbooks as at a time, she had gained a few pounds in muscle.

She looked at Lottie again thinking. "Lottie wolf too?" She asked thinking of Quil and how fast he was. He was her big furry wolf. Claire had seen him in wolf form, it might be where her obsession with hair came from. She loved to ride on his back and breath in the smell of his fur. Sam watched like a hawk every time Quil phased and played with Claire. Claire didn't like how he frowned when they played. Claire only knew about one female wolf, Leah and she adored her. Was Charlotte a wolf too? "Claire hide." She said again quickly looking around the room, then back up at Lottie.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Charlotte let out a soft chuckle. One thing she was not, was a wolf. She had been told she was a little Blackfeet Indian, but she was not a werewolf. She knew that Leah was the only female werewolf, and she felt sorry for her. She put on such a brave face, and always acted stronger than she probably was. At the same time as she pitied, she admirored her bravery.
"No. I just tend to have good reflexes." That wasn't a complete lie. Lottie had pretty good reflexes, but some things caught her off guard completely and she made little or no reaction. She nodded at Claire when she said that she would hide.

So Charlotte wasn't a shape shifter. Leah was still the only female wolf. Claire laughed and looked around the room. She saw the couch and eyed it for a moment. Then she turned and looked at Charlotte. "Count?" She asked and before Lottie answered flew toward the couch and slithered into the pillows to hide. She giggled a couple times then finally became quiet. Claire couldn't see anything, just darkness with the pillows all pressed in around her, so she had to listen for Charlotte.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kids could be so cute sometimes, that was for sure. Charlotte could easily tell she was hiding by pillows because of the giggling. She hadn't really thought about how easily young children would giggle, sometimes even when things weren't funny. She then realized that Claire probably had no idea what she meant when she said 'good reflexes', which was totally random.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Ready or not, here I come!" Why Charlotte bothered to count even though she had already hidden, she was not sure. As silently as she could, she made her way over to the couch where the giggling had stopped after eleven or twelve. Her long, tan fingers slowly slithered up the top of the comfy pillow.

Hiding was something that made her heart race. It must have been instinct but there was something the tinniest bit scary about hiding from someone. She sometimes giggled or smiled during nervous situations and she thought that might be why she was having a difficult time with it now. When Lottie lifted up the pillow, Claire shrieked with joy. She flew off the couch and attached herself around Lotte's legs. She looked up at her face and smiled. Lottie was fun and Claire liked her. "Lottie hide?" Claire asked wondering if Lottie would like a turn at hiding.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Charlotte was surprised when Claire asked if she wanted to hide. Most kids her age just hid over and over again, mainly in the same spots. Of course, after about the twentieth time or so she got annoyed and her acting slowly started to disappear with impatience. Apparently, this wasn't going to be the case with Quil's imprint. That was a nice change.
"Okay," Lottie said with a single nod. She'd make sure to hide somewhere simple, maybe in the corner behind the chair. There was a gap between it in the wall that might be a little diffucult for her to slip through, but she knew Claire would be able to.

She covered her eyes with her little hands and began to count. "One, two, three, five, seven, nine, ten!" She said slowly. thinking she was really smart for being able to count to ten. She spun around once and then, hoping Charlotte was hiding, and began to search the room. First she went to the couch, she had hid there, maybe Lottie would have too. She lifted the pillow and when it proved to be empty, moved on to looking under the coffee table. Nope she wasn't hiding there. She stooped and looked around the room. There was a book case, a chair, the couch and the coffee table. She figured the bookcase would be too hard to move to hide behind it and made her way toward the chair. She jumped behind the chair and there Lottie was hiding. "Found you!" She sad with a laugh She stepped back so Lottie could get out. "We play new game?" She asked, not one to stick to one game for too long.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - While Claire was counting, Charlotte made her way behind the chair. It was hard for her to squeeze in behind it, but she managed. It was easy enough to someone of Claire's age to think of, and barely big enough for her to fit in. She was surprised that she could count to ten, not a lot of people her age where able to as far she was aware.
When Claire found Lottie, she smiled. She slithered out of her spot, and it was a little easier the second time. "Okay! What do you want to do?" Like she thought earlier, she wasn't one for decisions. It had never been her thing, and she was horrible at making them. She didn't like choosing things, and always left it up to someone else.

Either Lottie really respected Claire's decision or she didn't want to make one herself. "Lottie cook?" Claire asked, her little stomach rumbling at just the right moment. She laughed and put her hand on her stomach. "Claire help." She added, she almost always helped her aunt Emmy cook things, and she had inherited her love of cooking. Claire turned quickly and ended up falling down. She giggled a little and got back up. Being Quil's imprintee, she was used to rough and tumble. She pointed one little finger at the bag still on the counter. "Mac&Cheese." She said. He mom had packed Velveeta Mac&Cheese which was not only easy to cook but very delicious. There was a bag of cheese sauce inside, and when all the pasta was cooked and the cheese was poured on top, Claire usually helped to stir it in. "Yummy." She explained

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Char also gave a soft chuckle as Claire's stomach rumbled with what seemed like the perfect timing. "Sure," she responded simply. She wasn't the best of cooks, that she was aware from, but she could do simpler foods with skill. The more complicated things took more concentration, which could have been difficult while baby sitting. She was just glad that Claire had chosen a more simple food for her.
Giving her a smile, Charlotte ruffled through the bag and pulled out the box (?) of Macaroni and Cheese. She hardly ate it anymore, but could remember that she liked it quite a bit as a kid. She could also remember having to cook it whenever her mother wasn't home for her siblings, as her father simply couldn't cook at all. "Of course you can help, dear." She said with a friendly smile. She'd be careful with her though, as she didn't want her to be injured. She got out the supplies quickly, seeming to dance around the kitchen with grace.

She wasn't exactly the best helper at times (especially with Mac&Cheese the sauce was just so fun looking! She was always dying to stick her fingers in it and draw a picture on her plate...or the wall) but she tried to be good.
"Water in pot." Claire said pointing to the sink (Which still looked like quite a bit of fun) and then to the stove. "Hot no touch." Claire said repeating what her aunt Emmy and mother always said and shaking her head wildly. Which made her long hair tangle around her face. She pulled her fingers through it and sighed. She loved her long hair but it was a hassle and almost always got in her way.
She reached out both hands to Charlotte and frowned. "Claire up." She asked. She usually sat on the counter so that she could see everything that was going on. "Water bubble!" She cried excitedly. She was talking about when the water boiled, she liked to see all the little bubbles inside.
"Water bubble, pasta in." Claire continued to explain, the kid was pretty cute. "Pasta in, stir. Claire do?" She asked her eyes all big. asking Lottie if she could stir the pasta around once it was in the water.
Once that was done you poured the pasta in a strainer, cut the corner of the packet of cheese. Poor it on the pasta, and once it's coated your done. "Stir cheese." Claire said explaining about the cheese that went over the pasta.
Then she did the sign for all done in sign language. One hand facing palm down, then you flip it so it's facing palm up. Which means all done in ASL (American Sign Language) her mommy had taught her that. "All done." She said as she did the sign. Then she giggled and turned a bright smile on Lottie.
