Southern Italy | 100 A.D. Aro enjoyed his power, his position. It had been nearly a five hundred years since they overthrew the Romanians. Aro along with Marcus and Caius were the leaders of the Volturi coven. There was still so much to be done. Even after having centuries to gain control to make others realize the were in control. There was still much to do, much to gain. They had several demonstrations to allow others they were serious. They were nothing like the Romanians. They allowed humans to know their secret they had allowed others to know just how cruel they were. Aro wanted the Volturi to have an image, an appearance. While they could be harsh and cruel he wanted a different image for them. He wanted them to appear justified in their actions. He wanted them to seem like they wanted what was best for all vampires. This was task in itself.
Aro was power hungry and would do anything for power. He wanted it more than anything else. He would risk anything to gain it. There was not a price to high if he could gain more or if he had to give something up to keep his power. There were be some situations if the choice between the two came it would be difficult, but in the end he would choose power. He always would. The most difficult would probably be his wife, Sulpicia, he loved her deeply. He craved power more than her and she knew this and understood. It did present some problems, but he shouldn't dwell on such thoughts at the moment. It was so easy to focus on power to know exactly what he wanted to do next. To know the best way to gain more power would be.
Aro wanted more talents. He needed the Volturi to become more powerful. Before he gained power he would often go to search for talents. After all it had been only the six of them. The family of the Volturi. The leaders and their wives. But now they had grown been strong enough to overthrow the Romanians. Now Aro seek more talents to make sure his power grew. Aro was around the southern tip of Italy. It was a good distance away from his home in Volterra, but not as far as he had once traveled. He has been all the way to England probably the farthest distance from his home. Of course that had been before he had power. He would still make trips, but they may become rare. After all there was so much to be done so much planning. They needed to enforce their rule. One simple law that must enforced and would over time. Some vampires have destroyed for breaking this one law: keep the secret.

Evelyn was truly annoyed. One would only think she'd be happy now that she had mastered better control of her thirst, but it only frustrated her more. Being a vampire seemed such a tedious, boring task! There was nothing to do, and she rarely came across any vampires with interesting past. Running her long, pale fingers through her long, pale blonde hair she let out a sigh. Her hair fluttered around her slightly in the wind, but it hardly affected her as a vampire. Wind was nothing but movement of the air, it did not matter.
Eve's pale lips pressed into a thin, straight line and her pale facial features were composed. The moon was high in the sky, but a mere slit in the sky that hardly let down any light. She remained in the fallen remains of an old building, leaning gently against a wall that still stood. Though the other half had crumbled off, and it was currently below her bare feet. Being barefoot did not bother her, but being without clothing did. At an earlier point in her life she had been forced to go without clothes, but she was grateful to had stolen supplies and made her own.
Taking in a deep breath, Evelyn's dark crimson eyes flickered around the area around her. She could smell a vampire nearby, and was able to tell that it was fairly close by the proximity of the closeness of the scent. Her facial expression did not change, nor did the rest of her position aside her moving eyes. She hardly counted them, it was a habit to be constantly looking around. She did not speak though, that was the last thing that she planned on doing unless it turned out to be absolutely necessary.

Aro, of course, was not alone he had a couple guards with him. One of them being Felix. He was of great use he could easily track down a vampire if they really needed to. After all he may need this talent with him at the moment. It depended if he would come across any vampires or not. He needed to find more talents. The Volturi needed to become stronger, more powerful. He craved power more than anything. He had been in power for some time, but there was still so much to do. They have had a few demonstrations of what happens when you disobey the Volturi, but they needed more. They needed to make sure they were known by all. They needed to enforce the one rule that could not be broken.
Aro did not want the humans to know of their existence. They must be kept a secret. It would make everything to so much more convenient. The Romanians had made certain humans knew about them. This was something Aro would attempt to reverse and he would succeed in this. It would take time this he was certain, but well worth it. And prove once more how much better the Volturi were from the Romanians. Aro had allowed the leaders to live for this simple reason. Destroyed every thing they had destroyed their entire coven. Leaving only two of them. They would be foolish to try and take their power back, but they may. Aro wouldn't worry about it to much. There was still far to much to focus on, to much think about. So much to do!
Aro smiled as he picked up the scent of another vampire. Even if this vampire did not have a talent he would want to meet this vampire. He was always curious about others. Always wanting to know so much more. Aro followed the scent growing more curious about this vampire. Aro saw an old building that seemed to be falling apart as well as a vampire. The one who's scent he had picked up. Aro kept his distance after all one could never to be careful. "Hello my dear," Aro greeted his tone calm, friendly. Aro was uncertain how this girl would react, but perhaps it would be good. Aro would hope so. After all if it was anything else if she tried anything she may be destroyed. Aro was enjoying this power, this position that was finally his. He was in power, he was in control and he wanted everyone to know this.

The pale blonde vampire did not react as the scents got stronger, and Evelyn realized there was more than one. Tracking wasn't her best ability, though it was starting to slowly become more natural. She wasn't sure of the exact amount, but could give a guess and probably not be more than five off. She ran a hand through her long hair to calm it slightly. She was not self-conscious about her appearance at all, but it was more of a habit to keep her hair calm. It just bothered her to death when it frizzed up and looked rather freakish.
When a clearly male voice spoke, Evelyn's dark crimson eyes flittered in the direction of it. They land on a male with a pure black cloak, surrounded by others also wearing cloaks. She had already been able to tell that he was a vampire, but the eyes proved it more. She was not typically a loquacious person, and quickly searched through his past. She went by it rather quickly, only needing a gist of it. She learned automatically all about overthrowing the Romanions, how he had changed many others into vampires, and that was all she needed to know.
"Greetings," was all that Evelyn bothered to say. She did not want to freak him out already by adding his name in there, though she had been tempted to. She loved to freak people out by knowing all about their past, especially when it was a past that wasn't to be proud of. She kept her face an emotionless plane, as showing emotions to her was a weakness. If the enemy knew what you were feeling, it made it so much easier for them to manipulate you. Something that she would never allow someone to do to her.

[[Kind of short sorry.]]
Aro smiled at the vampire greeted him. He was uncertain if she knew who exactly he was or not. Being in Italy he would assume she should know about the Volturi. But that did not mean she would. They had just gained control a few centuries ago. They still needed to prove they were in power, they were in control. There was still a lot he needed to do. So much planning needed to be done. But first he needed to gain more talents. He would only accept the best. The most valuable of talents those that would be of great use to him. They were a fairly large coven, but they needed more. Aro could never have enough. He would always be interested in finding a rare talent. Something that would be of use. That would allow the Volturi to become well known.
Aro was power-hungry, but he needed and appearance for the Volturi. They needed to appear justified in all of their actions. He would not be like the Romanians. They were weak. The very reason they fell. Aro had allowed the leaders to survive for one simple reason. To prove how much better they were. To prove how much more powerful they would be. "I am Aro." He decided it was best to introduce himself. After all, he did love to let others know who exactly who he was and the power he had. "We are the Volturi," Aro made sure he indicated the two guards that were with him. "Perhaps you could give me your name." It was not really a question. Aro could so easily know everything about his girl with one touch, but he kept his distance. He needed to be careful he knew nothing and this was not exactly his territory. If they were in Volterra it may be a bit different. While Aro was in control he did not have enough power. He needed to make the guard more powerful. Make them be known to everyone. This was the very reason for this trip. To allow him to have more power.

For Evelyn introductions were never truly a necessity, but they had no idea about that. It was only so simple for her to take a mere glance into their past and know all about them. She could tell playing around with their heads by knowing every unnecessary detail about them wasn't the best thing to do with the power they had. As long as Aro didn't just happen to brush against her though, she should be good? Unless he so politely forced her to let him read her thoughts.
It did not sound all to much like a question, but more of a demand than anything else. Evelyn could only imagine why someone with so much power would act like that, note the sarcasm. "Evelyn," she said softly holding back her smirk. It was usually upon her face faintly if anything else was not on her face. It was a habit out of anything, like running her fingers through her hair. Knowing so much about others almost gave her a sense of power over them, something she enjoyed.
"And I already knew who you were." Faint lines of a smirk did appear of Evelyn's face, but the smirk itself remained hidden. She almost hoped that it would freak him out, make him wonder how she could know so much about him. That was her little secret that she usually did not tell others. She usually just refused to tell others unless it was absolutely necessary, which was something that usually wasn't.
[[Sorry it sucks. I'm doing homework and snuck on here to post.]]

[[Sorry for the delay and for it being so short.]]
Aro smiled as the girl said her name. Of course it wasn't that difficult of a question. It was expected to answer him when he asked anything even a simple question as this. "Ah, Evelyn such a pleasure to meet you!" Aro was very curious about this vampire. He wanted to know so much and he would. All it would take would be one touch. Aro loved knowing everything and his talent assured he did. Aro would know everything he could about someone. Aro was curious if this girl had some talent, something that would be of use to him. The very reason Aro was here away from Volterra he wanted to find a talent. He wanted something of use. Something that would allow his power to grow, to become more powerful. Aro would do nearly anything for power and this was included.
Aro smiled at Evelyn perhaps word of the Volturi had spread more quickly than he originally though. "Wonderful my dear!" Aro was so very enthusiastic at times. And having others know about the Volturi certainly pleased him. "Evelyn I am so very curious. How do you know about us?" Aro wonder how she knew. It was a very interesting question and Aro wanted an answer. If she did not give him the answer he wanted he would read her thoughts. He would know everything.

Of course it was wonderful to meet her. That's what Aro said to practically everyone new that he met, from what Evelyn could tell. She hadn't bothered with focusing on any certain moment in time, more just skimming and noting the important things along with a few smaller details. Nothing that she knew too much about. It's not like she planned on stalking him or anything, she was just curious about people. Especially one who just looked like he was in power, whether people knew about him or not.
How Evelyn knew? That was such an easy explanation for her, but hearing it without an explanation like she always gave made it oh so confusing. She loved how it would frustrate people, as she could be a rather cruel person. She didn't believe in giving mercy, especially to those who did not deserve mercy of any type. If you taught people how they should be treated, most likely they wouldn't be killed for what ever they did. It was as simple as that, and that she didn't deny. Especially the fact that she should be treated horribly and cruelly with the way she acted to people.
"Easy! I merely looked at you." The tone that Evelyn purposely used made it obvious that there was more to that, that was something that was super obvious with it. As long as he did not touch her or she did not explain, he should have no idea. But she knew she'd have to explain sooner or later, probably sooner. Aro was oh so curious about people, and not giving him an answer wasn't always the best idea. She was no idiot though, and was smart enough to think about giving him an answer instead of leaving him hanging.

[[Short, but I'm short on time. Sorry.]]
Aro looked at Evelyn curiously it was apparent she knew something much more. Perhaps a talent he wanted so badly. How splendid would that be to come across a talent so quickly! This was the entire reason Aro had traveled he was seeking new talents. He had gained his power not to long ago. But there was a need for more powerful. The Volturi needed to seem powerful needed to remain powerful. This was what Aro wanted. There were several who knew about them, but there was still so many that needed to know. Know about the one rule they had set forth. To keep their existence a secret.
Aro did not want the humans to know about them. This would take time. Perhaps even centuries, but it would be well worth the wait. It was the task of letting every vampire know about them. But now only know about them, but to a certain extent fear them. Know they will destroy them if they reveal their secret.
"My dear, it seems there is something more. Would you care to tell?" It was a question yes, but Aro wanted and answer. Aro was even more curious about this girl. Of course he was always curious when meeting someone new. Wanting to know if they had some sort of talent. Something that would be useful to him. Something he could use to his advantage. That would allow the Volturi to become that much more powerful.

Care to tell? Now, Evelyn did let the smirk that had been waiting spread across her face. Knowing things that others did not was something that she truly enjoyed. It was hilarious watching people be extremely confused, furrow their eyebrows, and all of the confusion just take over them completely. It was something that she enjoyed. Why? That's why she considered herself rather cruel and evil, not that she considered that being a bad thing. Being evil was much easier than being nice.
"Care to tell? Not really." Okay, maybe the comment from Evelyn was a little rude - or a lot - but it's not like she cared all too much. Agitating the Volturi probably wasn't a good idea or anything, especially since she had already seen what Aro and his coven had done to other people. Despite her crude comment she was still going to tell him though, she just felt like annoying him slightly. It was something that she found fun. Perhaps it wasn't the best thing to find fun, but the blonde could really care less.
"But I will, since you can just find out by touching me. I can merely look at someone and know all about their past." Evelyn purposely dragged out the word 'all' to make it sound slightly more dramatic, another thing that she found amusing. It was also another thing that she wasn't sure why she found it amusing, and it probably wasn't a good thing to find amusing. But she could care less. Having no sympathy and constantly being cruel was something that she would always love, no matter what.

Aro looked Evelyn curiously as she told him she didn't want to tell. That was certainly something Aro did not want to he hear. It made him all the more curious. If there was something that Aro wanted to find out he would. It was always so very interesting to learn more about others. More so when they refused to tell him. Aro could easily find out. It would take one touch and he would know all. Evelyn certainly seemed quiet interesting. As was anyone he came across really. He always wanted to know if he had found someone with a talent. Aro wanted those that were powerful. Those that would be of use to him. If they were not he most likely would not even bother trying to have them join his guard. Aro was pleased with how large the guard have become. From the time before they had power to know many have joined. Strong, powerful vampires that were of great use. They were all very loyal and would do anything to make sure the Volturi remained in power and their rules were enforced.
Aro was power-hungry and he would do anything for power. The very reason he was on this trip. Aro needed to find more talents. He needed to make sure the Volturi were powerful and make sure all vampires knew about them. They had just gained power they were still new, but were quickly making others know about them. Enforcing their one law was of the utmost importance. To keep their existence a secret. This was a difficult task to be sure. The Romanians had freely allowed the humans to know of their existence. Something Aro was attempting to reverse. It would take time, far to much time, but well worth it. Perhaps a few centuries Aro would not be certain how long it would take for humans to think they were nothing more than a myth. They had short lives yes, but they believed in anything. And would most certainly continue to believe in vampires even if they were not actually there. Aro would not allow vampires to reveal themselves. This would all have to wait to later. For now Aro needed to focus on his power and making sure vampires knew they were the leaders. They were in power. They were in control.
Aro was instantly curious about this girl's talent. To simply look at someone and know their entire past. How convenient he wonder how powerful her talent was what all she saw. How useful it would be to have such a talent. Aro could imagine how much use it would be. To have Evelyn beside him allowing him to read her thoughts and in doing so allow him to know about those he faced. To know their history to know if they had anything of use. Any talents. And certainly easier to know if they had broken their rules. "That is most certainly interesting." Aro wanted to know more and he would. "I would love to hear more about this talent of yours." It was not really a request Aro would know more. Whether she told him or he read her thoughts. He would know more about this girl and her interesting talent.

Evelyn could feel the smirk remaining on her blood red lips, an amused look across her face. She occasionally glanced at one of the many guards and learned about their history. Nothing too terribly interesting seemed to catch her eye to cause her to linger over them. It would be only natural for a vampire like herself to look over at others, but Aro already knew why she was glancing at them. It's not like she honestly cared if he knew why or why not she was glancing at them. This was for her mere amusement now.
Of course he wanted to know more. Evelyn had had a strong feeling that he would, since he was craving for new talents. She also considered herself a rather interesting person, despite how she usually remained silent and never spoke. Besides, she felt no need to brag about anything she had done. What good was there besides her own amusement at humans pain? That was the whole reason she considered herself interesting, because she loved pain with such a strong amount. She wasn't sure if she had been that way as a human to, only knowing so little about her past.
"Of course you would," Evelyn said softly to herself, hardly even audible for herself to hear. Taking enough steps to be halfway towards Aro gracefully, she held out her hand palm up. "This is probably the easiest explanation I can give you." She said calmly, keeping the smirk eased across her face.
[[ Sorry it's late-ish and suck-ish. ]]

Aro smiled delighted to read her thoughts. Aro always wanted to know everything and the easiest way was to read their thoughts. There was so much one could learn! Aro was intently curious about this talent and how it worked. If there were limitations. What good it would do him. If it would be worth having in his guard. Aro was fairly certain he would he could just imagine all the good it would do him. To be able to know a person's past with on glance would be most useful. Aro would not even need to touch the person to know about them. Though he could find out much more with his own talent. It would give him a small advantage over others. He would know right away what they have done any talents anything at all that would be useful for him to know.
Aro easily met Evelyn his guard of course following him. They would not want anything to happen to their master. Aro was certain this girl would not do anything. Even more so if she was to join. That would be wonderful! Aro barely touched her hand it was only a few seconds before he pulled away. He had learned everything. He knew about her past, her thoughts on them, her talent, everything was his now. She had been quiet out of control as a newborn, but she had not revealed their existence. That was very important to not reveal what they were to humans. It was the one law Aro would enforce. Aro enjoyed finding out about her talent it was so very interesting! To see what a person has done that would be so very useful. Aro could already imagine the possibilities.
"That was most wonderful!" Aro was very pleased with what he had discovered it was so very interesting. "Such a talent! So many possibilities!" Aro wanted this talent. There were many possibilities so many uses. It would be something that would be vaulable if he was to gain it. He would. He wanted this talent and he would gain Evelyn whether she came willingly or not. He hoped she would come willingly certainly she would enjoy the Volturi. It seemed she enjoyed having others suffer it reminded him a bit of his brother. Of course if one was in the Volturi they would have to destroy other vampires Aro was certain this girl would have no trouble with this. She may even gladly destroy others. Those that have broken the rules. They would have to be destroyed there was no other options.
