It had been years since anything major had happened in Alec's life. Becoming a vampire along with his twin had been the most dramatic thing to happen to him for many many years. He never expected for everything to be turned upside down while on a mission for his Master, Aro. He never thought that something inside of him would change, that he could feel happiness with someone other than his sister. She was the one person on this earth he knew he loved. When he saw her, his life brightened up, she kept him living each day. His twin was his everything and so much more. Telling her that he thought he may have found love was frightening. She had been the only thing that ever mattered, and now there was another. Of course Jane would not come in second to this new vampire. She would always remain Alec's number one in every aspect. They had been through much too much together for that to change over some feelings he may have developed for another vampire. He wouldn't allow that to happen even if it WAS remotely possible.
Alec entered into the building almost nervous to seek out his sister, so instead of looking for her like he usually did, he went straight to Aro. He entered the room, bowed to his Master and reported . . . everything. It only took Aro a second before he requested to touch Alec, and of course the guard agreed. He would never hide anything from Aro. His master saw the death of the nomad, and the discovery of a new vampire with a talent he could use. One glance into Aro's face and Alec knew that the vampire would act quickly. She would be his, soon. He smiled at the knowledge and waited to be excused. Once he was he knew he could no longer avoid his searching for his dear sister, so he took off toward their room. He stopped just outside of their door and inhaled once before opening the door. Inside was the one person who Alec craved to see, and be with. A smile broke across his lips as he walked across the room, removing his sister's ring from his finger to return back to her since they were together again.
Once he was only inches from his twin he held out his palm with her ring, and waited for her to take it. He then wrapped his arms around her and gave her a quick hug and a kiss on her cheek. "Dear sister, I missed your dearly." He smiled at her and realized his fear of her was irrational. She would never hurt him, just as he would never hurt her. He would rather hurt the male she found than her. It would never be her fault; always theirs. With this knowledge, Alec relaxed. He wouldn't blurt it out right here and now. He wanted to talk to her first, even if just briefly before telling her about Cassidy. He was interested in knowing what she had been about while he was away. He was always happy to listen to his sister's voice; he could listen to her talk for years on in, and never bore of her. It was one of the reasons he knew he truly loved her, for if any other vampire tried that, he would silence them immediately, and they would never utter another word again. Jane sat in the room she shared with her twin brother Alec. Sitting on the couch that sat against the wall, neither of the twins used it that much since they were normally out or doing guard thing those it did get used every now and then. Her angles were crossed and pushed underneath while her hands were folded neatly in her lap. For once she actually looked relaxed, peaceful and even sweet. Though nobody ever saw her this way besides her brother, but sometimes others of the guard saw her. But they never dared speak to anyone else about it, they knew Jane well enough to know better. Her reputation as a Volturi guard member was nothing nice and kind it was fair from that. She was feared by many, people were afraid of her. Jane and Alec were high up in the guard and everyone knew this besides those who were new or didn’t care. She had used her talent many times before, she had killed many humans and vampires. That wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, she was cold, mean and to some scary. They knew not to mess with her or to make her mad. She was dangerous she wasn’t afraid to put others in pain or kill them. Everyone knew this, this was who Jane was and she liked it and it was going to stay that way.
Of course Jane wouldn’t have coped well with this world without her brother. He was the reason for her living, the reason she was where she was today, the reason she was still alive. The only person in the world she actually loved and could be herself around. He knew all her secrets, her real self. The only person she could connect to and open up to. Alec was the person who kepted her alive and the only one who mattered the most. Jane normally spent her free time with him, when she had no guard duties or needed to help Aro with something. But today Alec was free at the same time, which happened a lot. Though when it did she normally went and walked or stood with him unless he was leaving the castle. She never left the castle unless she was hungry or she was asked to, she liked be in the leaders good books rather then there bad. And she rather liked when Aro seemed to be proud of her for the little things she did for him or the others. Alec was out doing a job for Aro, she wasn’t sure exactly what that job was. But she knew it had something to do with a vampire. He would be back soon, since it had been awhile now since he left. And hopefully both of them had free time so they could spend more time together.
There was a sigh outside of the door. She knew very well who it was, it was very easy for her to recognize. Moments after she had heard the sound the door came open and in walked the person she wanted to see the most. The one she had wanted to spend time with all day and now they could. Her emotionless face turned calm as soon as she saw him, she looked sweet as if she were still that twelve year old girl. A warm smile sat on her face as he walked into their small but large room. As he walked in Jane stood up from her spot on the sit, to welcome him in. The first thing he did was hold out his hand with her ring sitting on the palm of it. The ring was hers, and Alec often took it when the two were apart it made them both feel better about it. It wasn’t some thing they shared with many only a few knew about this that being Aro and them selves. Jane wanted to keep it that way; it was their own little secret. It gave them a bit of childhood, as they always used to keep each others secret’s and here they didn’t have all that many so the ring was a good thing in many ways. It had been her grandmothers who passed it down to her mother and now Jane had it.
She took out of his hand and slid it onto her finger with a smile, it was warm against her skin and smelt of Alec which always made her feel calm. The ring meant so much to the both of them and if they ever lost it they would have been crushed. Jane wouldn’t have been herself and wouldn’t be on the job which would have made Aro very angry. But the twins made sure they looked after it well and so that very thing didn’t happen. Alec wrapped his arms around her and her arm atomically went around his waist, pulling away as he did. After he kissed her cheek she began to feel whole again. But when she hugged him she picked up a scent she was not familiar with, this made her curious as the scent couldn’t have gotten attached to him the way it had been if they had just talked. ”As did I.” She said with a small nod. The scent became stronger as she took a step closer to him so she was able to take his hand in her own. His hand was warm against her skin as always. Jane raised an eye brow as she began to speak ”Who’s scent is that? What have you been doing Brother? She said finally realizing the scent was starting to bug her. Her voice was still sweet and calm but you could hear the annoyance and anger in it also.

Not even two seconds had passed before Jane picked up on Cassidy's scent. Alec felt silly for trying to fool himself into thinking he would be able to ease into the conversation slowly. Not when it came to Jane anyways. She was very perceptive, and worse had no problems at all commenting on anything to do with Alec. Which was the way it should be, being as they were twins and no one was closer on this earth than the two, but still. . . he had hoped he could pull it off for at least five minutes. He shouldn't have tried to fool himself after all. Now he had no clue what to say, or even how to bring the subject up to his loving sister. Being in her presence once more made him realize he had missed her, and hated being away from her. But yet. . . part of him still craved Cassidy's company as well. This was not going to go over well.
Another sigh and Alec squeezed his sisters hand tight before letting it loose, so they were still touching. "Sister, it has always been me and you. I would not want it any other way." He bent down and gave his sister another peck on the cheek. "But I met an interesting vampire while I was out, she had a unique gift that I have already informed Aro about." Alec was trying his best not to inform his sister that he had also fallen for this vampire in a way he never had before. She caught his attention, she was stunning, young, and was ruthless in her killing. Alec could never find such a match again. He prayed his sister would understand, but more than anything he prayed his sister would find a vampire of her own. Or else. . . she might kill this one. Alec smirked at the idea of Jane killing Cassidy, and he felt himself grow slightly angry with his sister. Something he had never felt in his life, he immediately was angry at himself for such a thought. His sister meant more to him than some vampire that set his emotions ablaze.
Jane always came first in Alec's eyes, and right now she wanted something, and never before had Alec even denied Jane of what she wanted. Plus she needed this as well. At least to hear it from him and not Aro. Better this way so no one tries to blackmail either of them. "There is something else. . ." How was he going to tell her that somehow he was attracted to this vampire. That she was the reason he had been away from his sister for a longer period of time than he should have been? It was frightening. He did not know if he should be ashamed or excited to share this news with his sister. "Jane. . . Sister, you know that I love you most. There is no one on this earth who could ever take your place." She was not ignorant, she would interpret that they way it was intended for it to be. She would connect the pieces. This was about to be the most difficult conversation Alec had ever had with his sister. With anybody. In his entire existence. [/blockquote]

The scent was strange. She hadn’t an idea whose it was or why it was on Alec’s clothes. Jane needed an answer and she was going to get it. After all she knew how to get something out of her brother. She always had they had been around each other longer then any other twins in the world. So they had a pretty good idea of how to talk to one another and how they would react. Of course their relationship had grown closer also because of the centuries they had been together. Because of these the two were hard to be pulled apart from one another and nothing could pull change that no matter how big the thing was or the person for that matter. They had both learnt that over time and hopefully it would stay that way for the rest of their vampire lives. Though that would be a long period of time and things could change for the better for worse but it would have been awful for it to come to the two not being close as they were now. Jane would do anything in her power to stop that from happening. She couldn’t bare to leave without Alec and then not being close would be just the same. She couldn’t go through anything without knowing he was here.
Jane didn’t know the smell it was unfamiliar and quite annoying not to know. The only things she knew about it was that whoever it was, was a vampire. If Alec wasn’t going to tell her about she was going to make him. Even if she had to pin him down she was going to get it out of him. But she truly hoped it wouldn’t have to come down to that as she wanted him to honest with her. Like he normally did she did not want him to change because of some strange vampire scent. But it explained why he had been gone so long. He was out with some vampire doing what ever it was he was doing. Though she could have been over reacting he was probably talking to a vampire about the rules, or maybe even who he was. She didn’t need to judge him just because he had some new scent. She knew him better then just to think that he was around someone else. Jane wasn’t at all jealous well at least yet. She didn’t want to jump to conclusions which was exactly what she was doing.
Once Alec squeezed her hand all her thoughts were focused back onto him rather then what he was doing. She needed to listen carefully to what he was to say she needed to find out exactly why he had been gone so long. Not that she wanted to be over-powering or anything she just had to know where had been. ”And I wouldn’t want it any other way.” She said commenting on what he said. Jane smiled softly as his lips pressed against her cheek for a quick peek. She defiantly didn’t want it to change just as he had said. Well that explained why he had been out for that long meeting and talking with another vampire. Who of course had a talent. Which Aro would love he always seemed to like power and it was only right for Alec to talk with her and tell him about her. His next words came as a shock. If she didn’t know better she would have thought he was sucking up to her but she knew better it didn’t have anything to do with that well maybe a little. Running over his last two sentences something seemed to stand out and that something was not what she wanted to hear. It made her angry with her own brother! She was never angry with Alec she couldn’t he was her twin. ”Alec, what are you saying!?” Her voice was no longer sweet in fact it was actually quite fierce. Jane thought she knew what he meant by all of this but she needed to be sure.
