The smaller (smaller horse sized) grey wolf that was in the processes of running as hard as she could, was Leah showing off. If you had to be the only chick in the world of men, might as well be the best at something and make sure they know it. Speed was her thing, none of them could even touch her when she was in full speed. Maybe it was her small size that let her move faster then them, who really knew, all she knew was she was faster and they could kiss her furry butt or eat her dust trying.
Leah had forgot who was going to be running patrol with her this time. She guessed she would hear them soon enough and find out. There had been that odd way to sweet sent the other day. That meant one of the blood suckers was getting mighty close to La Push. The red headed one what was after Jacob's 'not really' girlfriend, was getting closer and closer. Leah hoped they found her and killed her sooner rather then later.

Jake had been a wolf for awhile. But, he tried to stay out of Leah's mind. Until she started thinking about the red-haired vamp that was stalking Bella. So, he couldn't stay out any longer. Leah, don't do anything dumb. Jake said as he got with-in 2 feet of her. Of course he would never pass her. That just wasn't possible. She was the fastest out of all the wolf packs here in La Push. Victoria, the red-haired vamps name, had been getting closer to their line.
Jake would only issue an attack if she crossed our lines. Otherwise, she could do basically whatever she wanted out there in Forks. But, the problem was, i she got with-in a couple inches of the line. There was no way Jake would be able to hold Leah back from doing what she had wanted to do ever since she first became a wolf. Even though Jake didn't like vampires, he could sort of get along with the Cullens'. Bella did, and he would do anything for her.

Leah gave a snort and then moved to a faster pace to leave Jake behind. Not that it would keep him out of her head! 'Dumb like fall for a leech lover?' Leah snapped not liking his bossing her around. Granted he out ranked her (and that fact annoyed her too), but she still got annoyed when they bossed her around. Jake as Sam's 2nd could give her orders she could not, not follow. He he handed an order down not to attack when the leech was in site, she would be stuck just sitting there.
Stupid alpha control. Hearing his other thoughts she snapped out 'The red head has already broken the treaty! We don't have to wait for her to be on our side, we should leave the line and hunt her down!' Which would suit her just fine! She wanted a good fight to help her not think of . . . .things. Maybe Paul would come on patrol and she could push him into a fight. His temper went as fast as his brain cells. With in a second they were both lost.
{Sorrz for the third degree in the post, but before she join jake's pack she was sort of a capital B}

Jake wasn't going to get lost that easily. He wasn't the second fastest for nothing. He ran until he could barely touch her tail, then stayed at that pace. Okay, okay. Then let's go for it. If you are planning on fighting with Paul, do it after we beat that red head into the next century and back. Jake said as he gave a little laugh. Then. he put his nose in the air and started really trying to pin-point the location of the vamp.
Finding it, he let Leah automatically see where she was. Since Leah was faster, she could get there sooner and stop her from going further into the territory. Once you get there, don't attack right off the bat. Wait for me. Try to hold her back, if you can't then you can go ahead and attack and tear her to pieces. With that Jake slowed down a little bit, so that Leah could put herself into overdrive if she wanted.

Leah mentally grinned as Jake seemed to go with her plan of 'kill the leech'! That pleased her, and it was rare things did that now days. She moved gracefully, and swiftly onto the trail and moved quicker, though the trees and under brush of the forest. She would still take on Paul later, and she would use the fact that she had killed the leech be what angered him into the fight. Paul was stronger, sure, but Leah fought dirty, and she was much faster then his body would let him move. They ended up about even. With others she wasn't so lucky, with Paul is just anger, others tended to think more in the fight, which made it more of a challenge.
'Today, we end this!' she said in her head, feeling the pre-fight rush kick into her system as she moved along the trail, tracking and trying to cut off the trail, so they could move in for the attack. She was glad Seth was on patrol today, she didn't want him in this fight. In any fight. Ending it now, could make this whole thing be over, as soon as the yellow-eyed leeches left any how. Or broke the treaty when they bit the Swan girl.

Jake laughed as Leah took off. Of course he took off right after her, but he stayed at least 10 feet behind. Jake heard her thoughts and just let her think. He didn't intruppt her once. He sure hoped that Seth didn't hear their thoughts. He would want to join, but Jake didn't think that would be best right now. He was also glkad for the fact that their thoughts ever didn't cross into Sam's pack minds.
Jake finally saw that Leah had corned the vampire. He rushed up right next to her. His stance automatically becoming protective. He started snarling as the Leech started trying to explain herself. knowing that she could probably be trying to lie or do other things of the that nature, he really didn't listen. He acted like he did. But, really his mind was elsewhere.

It was unusually quiet around the La Push boarder today. Sam did not know why, but he had a bad feeling he was missing something. He was with Emily, of course, but he had to leave her for the moment to check in with the Leah and Jacob, make sure they were not killing each other. Leah was rather, unstable at the moment, so he felt that he had to check up on them, and he did so just in time. He found himself running in the forest before phasing. "Leah, Jacob, show your location!" Sam ordered as he found himself looking through Jacob's and Leah's eye' to see a pale girl, with eyes more red then her hair. Sam was worried, he did not like the odd's Two to one, was not okay with him. so he ran, pushed himself the best he could, going to the very spot he thought they were. Just by the background, he could tell they were close, but how close was the question. He just kept running letting their minds lead his way. Closer and closer he came, no one made the first move, the vampire just tried to talk her way out of it, Good let her talk! he thought to himself. He wanted to wait, so he could be there to help his pack. It was HIS job to protect them. He would give HIS life to save Leah and Jacob, that's what a pack leader did. He would fight, they would step in if he asked them too, and he would. Leah has yet to take down a vampire, she needed the practice.
"The vampire looks to be a newborn, look at the eyes." Sam interjected. "she will have unbelievably strength. Do NOT let her get her arms around you, or you'll be crushed!" Sam said as he ran, pushed harder and hard, secretly wishing he was Leah, so he could get their faster. Guess it was no secret anymore. but that chick did have a talent, he would admit that any day. "Let her talk. Do not attack until I get there... do you understand!" Sam ordered pushing harder, faster, anger building as he did so. He was slow, and he HATED it. (It's not that he was slow, he was one of the fastest, yet it was still too slow.) Jacob and Leah were in harms way, and Sam was not there to protect them. "I'm almost there..." Sam added as his paws hit the ground, with out a sound, he was flying through the forest, he was so quiet, it was as if he was not even there.

Leah did not like Sam telling her not to engage, not to fight. She stood there in a stare down with the leech, also not liking how Jake seemed to want to protect her. She was not going to be known as the girl wolf who could not take down one baby leech! She growled and wanted to attack but Sam's alpha words keep her from doing it.
Which made her angrier. Sam was so slow (Compared to her). The leech would try to get away from them if he moved any slower. 'Maybe you should stop eating so much of HER cooking and you could be faster!' Leah snapped out as she shifted her weight from one paw to the other in her eagerness to kill. It wasn't the leech they were hunting but this one was not getting away. [SAM (& Jake)! Did you want me to play the newborn? Or all of us take turns temping her?]

Just as Jake was about to go and tell Leah to go ahead and attack, he heard Sam's voice. Oh, great. You can tell where we are and I already knew that. Who wouldn't? When he heard Sam's order, he had no choice but to listen. So, he just stood there. Even though Jake was supposed to be Alpha and not Sam, Jake was only Beta. Sometimes he hated it, but others he was okay with it. Right now was one of those times when he hated it.
Jake turned his big head towards Leah. He had heard her be bitchy, but never like this. This was extremely unusual. Leah, relax. It won't do any of us good if you become a sour puss. We can't go against Sam's orders. No matter how badly we won't to. Jake said. Jake turned his attention back to the vampire. Sam, are you here yet? Jake heard the steady pulse of all of their hearts. He awaited an answer.
