[/size][/color] Ironic. That word held so many new meanings. It was ironic that this happened, it was ironic that that happened. One moment Rachael had been happy at school, care free. The next she was dating a werewolf known for his temper and finding out her baby brother was his boss. It was enough to make her head spin.
Which was why she had left town for the weekend. Just a few days to take it all in. Now she was back, and not sure what to do. She had been sitting in the car on the side of the road, near the sign that said welcome to la push for over an hour. Trying to force her self to either drive on home or turn around.
With a deep breath she turned the car on, the off again. She got out of the car and walked to sit on the hood, staring into the woods. Was Paul and Jacob out there? She got up and walked tot he edge of the woods staring into them. She knew that they were huge wolves but would she see them?
Rachael looked back behind her, as if checking to see if the cost was clear before turning back and walking into the woods. Sticks cracked under her feet and branches brushed by her. She did not think she was making allot of sound, but Paul said he had sharper hearing.
She walked and walked, until she could not see her car anymore. Was this a bad idea? Should she turn back? [/blockquote][Jacob Black!] ((Icons not of my own making. Credit goes to 'Leah' of MP.))

The news of his sister leaving town had reached Jacob's ears quickly thanks to the linked minds of the wolves. It was all Paul could think about; and it was all Jake could do not to kill his pack brother for scaring away his sister when she was FINALLY home once more. He considered going after her, dragging her home. But. . . if she was determined to be gone, she would be nearly impossible to find. She was a Black after all. Something that made Jacob both proud, and disappointed. Proud, for it ran in their blood. Disappointed because it meant he would be unable to track his determined sister.
None-the-less he kept a watch out for his sister all the while.
The familiar sound of Rach's car came around the bend, and then Jacob heard the engine turn off. He moved closer to the edge of the woods, but kept his wolf body hidden, to avoid the spread of horror stories about huge wolves once again. He watched with a confused mind-set as he saw Rach fumble with her own thoughts and change her mind over and over again. Until suddenly she was walking into the woods. He took his chance then and bolted. Towards his sister.
The woods rustled around him as he moved closer to Rach. His sense of smell easily finding her scent. Once he was closer enough to see her through the trees, he stopped and quickly shifted back to his human form. The pants he carried were fastened around his waist within seconds. "Rach?" His voice was soft, as to not startle her. [/blockquote]

[/size][/color] Rachael turned and jumped slightly at the sound of her name. "Jacob?" She asked but she knew it was him. It was more like her asking him a question, a question worth a million questions. But it all boiled down to one question. Was this all real? True? Maybe even HOW could this all be true.
She crossed her arms over her chest to ward off the chill, as the wind blew gently and she noticed he was shirtless. Great. Something he had in common with Paul. Things like height, body type, hunger. Things she thought were 'just boys being boys' were now things she thought 'just boys being wolves'. She shook her head slightly, but she wasn't sure why, "Oh Jake." She whispered not knowing what else to say.
How did one talk to her brother about things she could not talk to the man she loved about? How did Emily and Kim learn to deal with this? And more importantly, how did she learn to deal with his. Dad! Rachael knew he knew and had not told anyone. She wanted to worry for him but for some reason she wondered if he was not more proud then scared. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Even though he had tried being cautious to not startle her, he smelled her fear pike for a minute before she saw who it was. Her jump broke his heart. Being a wolf was difficult enough already, but now his sister feared them. Or at least was unsure of them. So many sacrifices have already been made by so many wolves, Jake had thought it would be easier with Rach knowing the truth. No hiding his secret in his house. One thing he almost thanked Paul for. . . almost.
Rach had been gone from La Push for a while though. Maybe that's why she couldn't believe in the supernatural anymore. Or did not want to just yet. Suddenly Jacob was glad his sisters had moved. What if they had been stuck with a similiar fate as Leah. Being female werewolves. She hated it, would they?
When her relieved voice shone through her fear at who it was Jacob could not help himself. He ran forward and grabbed his sister in a light hug. "I'm so sorry Rach." for more then you know. She had come home to visit, something the sisters never did, and she got dragged into this madness because a wolf imprinted on her. Of course one of the wolves would. She was a Black. The same magical blood that flowed through his own body was also within hers.
With a sigh Jacob let his sister go and looked at her. She was strong, there was no denying that. "I hope we didn't scare you away, sis. . ." He was being serious, now that she was home, he didn't want her to leave. If her and Paul could work it out, which he was sure they could, he might have to thank the stupid wolf. The beauty of imprint was that wolf would never give up. Paul would follow Rach to the end of the world. His love for her was undeniable now.
Something Jacob would just have to live with. [/blockquote]

[/size][/color] One moment he was yards away from her and the next moment he was hugging her. Jacob moved so silently and quickly that Rachael was shocked for a moment. She felt his overly warm body surround her in a hug. Wrapping her arms around him she began to break out of her shock. These were all wolf things. Things Jacob and Paul and the others had in common. Things she would have to start not only seeing for what they were but accepting them as part of her everyday life.
She held on to Jacob a few moments with out answering him. "Jacob, what is happening here?" She asked, not sure how to respond to him. Her mind was still in shock. Out of all the black children her head had never really believed in scificton. She had never really be able to enjoy the fantasy world were magic lived. Now she was learning it was more then just fiction. It was real. It was her family. Her tribe.
"I had to go to clear by head, but I am back now. I am not going to run away again." Her family needed her, and this time she wasn't going to be self centered and hide from them. Jacob had needed her and she'd came home to late. Now they needed her again. Jacob, Dad . . . .and Paul. Paul needed her most. [/blockquote] ((Icons not of my own making. Her question rang through first, and before he answered she explained herself as well. A sigh escaped his lips with her assurance that she was there to stay. He did not want his sister to leave. She was home. . . home was where she belonged. But then again he had run before as well. Jake was better at it than his sister. She came back quickly. He took longer than she had to face his fears. Proof once more that his sister was stronger than him.
What was going on? What could he tell her that Paul would not get to upset about. . . he could leave the imprinting out. That would be Paul's field to speak on, he could just let her know that the legends were true. Remember the stories we always used to hear when we were younger? The stories of our tribe, our history? The one i told to Bella, and clued her into what the bloodsuckers were, breaking the treaty before even knowing it. The thought came unbidden to his mind, and he just shrugged it off. This was not about him. It was about his sister.
Taking a step back to get a better look at his sister he smiled at her. She reminded him of his mother. The bits he could remember. She reminded him of their sister. But she wouldn't be coming home for a long while. If ever again. Yet she was her own person. Her personality alone was powerful, independent. Others saw that as undesirable, at least compared to their sister. But they were wrong. Rach was strong, she was meant for this world, as Paul so recently proved. [/blockquote]
