Jane has a slim and androgynous build, which she hides under her dark black cloak and clothing. She has pale blondish brown hair, that is trimmed short and usually worn up in a bun. Jane has the usual vampire features which include the pale white skin, black eyes when she grows hungry and the blood red eyes that all Carnivore Vampires have. Her face is too pretty for a boy and is both angelic and fiercely childlike which did change much when being turned. Her eyes are not only blood red but also wide and go with her full lips. Her voice is still childlike and sweet but not always matching the words that come out.

Jane is a very dark natured vampire who most like to stay away from. She gets easily anger when her powers do not go the way she plans or if they do not work. She worships Aro and is always happy in his presences. Jane always tries to find way to impress her master even though she is already ranked high. She sees him as her father figure in life as she wasn’t so close to her father in her human days. She enjoys her powers as most vampires are some what scared of them, deep down she has a kind heart but on the out side she is an evil little monster.
Jane loves her brother, Alec very much she always has. They were very close as humans and did almost everything with one another and that hasn’t changed all that much. Jane has no patience for humans and doesn’t care if she hurts them. She isn’t afraid to kill one either weather its for reason or just for the fun of it. Jane enjoys being in charged of the others around her and that most fear her.

Jane is known throughout the vampire world, along with her twin, Alec, for her ability. Jane has the ability to create an illusion of pain on her victims. When Jane inflicts torture on her victim, it physically does nothing to them, as Jane only has the ability to trick the mind into thinking there is pain. Jane can control how much pain she inflicts on her victim. The pain that Jane inflicts is described as being like "burning" inside of the victim. Jane cannot use her power on Bella, even when Bella is human. The reason for this is that Bella can block out a person's mental ability, as witnessed by Edward's inability to read her mind. Setting her special ability aside, Jane possesses common vampiric abilities too, such as granite-hard skin, razor sharp and strong teeth, sharp senses, speed, strength, agility and inhumane beauty.

The Volturi, a coven who act as the Royal Family of the vampire world, the largest coven in existence had seen Jane and her brother Alec in there small village. Aro, who was always seeking ways to gain more power to make himself more powerful, wanted them in his guard as he thought they had potential to be a powerful vampires to gain. But as they were still rather young he decided to keep then that way for awhile at least until they were older. Aro wanted to let them age before he took them in.
The village soon got suspicious of the two as they started to notice strange events that happened around the two young children. They accused the Twelve year old twins of witchcraft and the damages that had happened as they arrested them and soon tied them to the large stake in the center of the town. They were immediately charged and put to death by execution. As the two scared young children stood tied, they lit the post and they were said to die that day. The smoke was too great for either of them to save one another. The sounds dimmed by the crackling fire, her vision blurred by the smoke that rose. They were both becoming weak.
The villagers did not successed in doing so as a man with pale white skin and blood red eyes stepped in. The man did not only step in to save the two twins he also killed the whole village out of anger and annoyance. There was blood every where, other vampires in dark black cloaks, killing the humans one by one, there fangs reaching in and clawing at them as they killed. It was a very gruesome site for two younglings. Then the man saved them, but they were already weak and didn’t feel a thing as the mans fangs priced there skin.
He explained to the two that his name was Aro and that they were now Vampires. He went through all the rules and some of the history of the Volturi. Telling them how much grader vampires were then humans. Jane listened carefully and nodded, sticking with Alec the whole time. The two newborn vampire twins soon retried their robes and began their training on there new found vampire abilities. Due to there mere power and strength they had they were automatically given a rank and were the highest of the Volturi Guards, despite there young age.
