Jasper was raciing through the woods at a vampiric speed, running as fast as was possible for their kind. It was late, and he was hunting -- or had hunted. As the newest vegetarian vampire in their coven, he was also the weakest and thus needed to hunt more than the others. It was something he would forever feel ashamed for, which was why when it came to times such as these, he hunted alone. He knew Alice and the others never judged him, but he wanted to be better for them . . . no, for her. Mostly for her. He would always believe she deserved better, but could never imagine a life without her. All he could do was hold hope that eventually, he would be able to control himself. That he would not have to suffer every time he was around humans. That he would not need to hunt so frequently. That he could show restraint. He hoped for so many things, and believed that with Alice's encouragement and aid, he could most certainly achieve these things.
His mind was as active as his legs, filled with thoughts racing through at a rapid pace. He almost lost track of where he was or where he was going, for he had no set direction. As he ran, and ran, he skidded to a stop when he reached the edge of a cliff. Past this . . . was La Push. It was out of the territory that his kind was permitted on, and he had no desire to provoke the wolves. So whether it was just by sheer coincidence, or they had caught his scent, he looked across at the other side and saw a gray wolf looking right at him. Jasper stared back at it, eying the beast. The pack was growing and with Bella on both sides . . . they were forced to converse with them more often than ever before.
Jasper was indifferent. Yes, the wolves were their enemy, but that did not mean that they could not both coexist. And so he looked at the wolf, not knowing which one it was out of the pack, and making no effort to find out. What he did know was that there seemed to be some sort of unspoken conversation occuring between them for as he continued to stare, the wolf returned the gaze. Jasper was unsure as to what to make of this non verbal communucation. Whether it was an unspoken challenge, or just recognition of how different they were. With that thought, he once again raced through the woods, weaving amongst the trees, wondering if the scent of the wolf would follow.

Leah was stalking Paul. To see him and not be in his head, and not have to know what that brainless olf was thinking was pure pleasure. She was almost purring with the glee of a fight to come if he crossed the line of La Push to her grounds--or whatever the heck dogs did that was like a purr. Bring Beta Boy, she taunted in her mind, knowing he could not hear her. Paul might be bigger but he was all tame and on a leash now. Imprinting made him soft. Where was his anger now? Her's was still a fire that made her---What the frig was Vamp boy doing out here?
Leah was distracted from mentally taunting Sam's right hand (the hand he wiped his ass with! HAHAHA . . . . . ) when she picked up on the scent of a vamp coming. Seth was sleeping, and Jake was being annoying with Nassie, so she wondered why. She watched from the distance as he--the Jasper one--looked over the cliff where Paul was, and then turned to run away. Why was he out here? Leah shot one last look at dumb ass, and then bounded up the hill, and through to woods while planing to cut the leach off and give him a silent but firm reminder of staying close tot he house! WHY was she out here doing this crap if he was just going to go wave his lilly white vamp butt at them?

Despite Jasper's actions of running from the wolf, he could still catch its scent. It was not too far, and able to keep speed with the pace Jasper was running right now. Which meant . . . it was following him. But for what purpose? Jasper decided to wait before finding out. That is, if he ever intended to find out. As he ran, he was fully aware of his surroundings, trying to determine the direction that the scent was coming to him at. It was not from behind, that was for certain. He gave a slight smile to himself, deciding to play to his strengths. For if there was one thing that wolves could not do . . . it was climb trees.
So in one quick motion, Jasper leaped up into the trees, concealing himself with the immense height they offered him. He had his reasons for doing it, even if it was to just toy with the wolf. More importantly, he wanted to see it. Identify it by its color, coat, scent and whatever emotions emanated from it. But just so he did not make it too obvious, he inconspicuously leapt from tree top to tree top, reamining on the move but staying in the same general vicinity.

She knew she could outrun him if she pressed hard enough, she was smaller then the other wolves, but stronger then the pups because of her age--which made her one of the fastest. But then Vamps got all dumb and did dumb things like climb dumb trees. She made a wolfy growl that sounded like a groan at the same time. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Leah moved to the bottle of the tree and sat there looking up at him, hoping like hell he could see her expressing how stupid she thought his climbing was. 'Hey dude, I'm not a effing cat! Come down here and let me kill you!' With a growl she jumped up, and put her front paws on the tree, growling and snapping.
She wasn't going to really kill him, Jake would get mad. She was just trying to drive him back home. Why the frig he was out here alone wasn't in her cup of care--she just wanted him out of her woods!

As the wolf came into view, Jasper peered down at it, now able to see what he wanted to. The color, the size, everything. It was smaller than most of the others and gray in color. He could both see and sense its anger and annoyance, which were not uncommon emotions from them. The wolves and his kind obviously did not get along well. So most of the emotions when faced in the company of the other were on guard and filled with mistrust . . . from both sides. "Calm yourself," he said in a composed, yet strong. tone of voice. He did want the wolf to believe he was a threat in this moment for chances were, their paths would indeed cross again after this.
Was there no way to establish a bit of . . . civilness between them? He did not yet use his ability, but also did not want there to be an accident when he came down from the tree. He jumped from the top of the tree to the ground, across from the tree he had been in requiring the wolf turn in order to see Jasper properly. "Surely we can be civil." With Bella conversing with both the wolves and the vampires . . . there had to be common ground between them. And these were the moments to try to build that. Not necessarily friendship, or even trust . . . but just, a mutual understanding. Or at least, a semblance of one.
