Charlie parted the cruiser out side the Clearwater home and paused a moment before getting out. Did Sue know? Had Harry known?
Hurmp. Charlie wasn't mad, but he wasn't pleased he was keep in the dark. He was not going to turn it into a big deal. Bella was a Cullen now. Jacob. . . .
Charlie broke off with a shiver. Yes. Jacob Black. They were different. After a few questions, Charlie thought he could tell who else was special and who else wasn't. Seth was special. When Charlie had saw Leah there. . . .
Special. Getting out of his car, he shut the door and walked slowly up to the house. Since 'Special Seth' and 'Special Leah' were doing 'Special Things' at the 'Special Cullens' 'Special House', Charlie was going to make sure Sue was ok, and didn't need anything done around the house. . . and try to see if she knew about Specialness.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Sue had heard the familiar car pull up into her driveway and before Charlie had the chance the knock on the door (though he didn't need to since she did not mind him walking right into the house), she opened the door for him. "Hello Charlie," she greeted smiling. Charlie had been wonderful during the entire predicament of Harry's death. She had found herself more at ease with his company, and before when she had no idea how she was going to survive without Harry...she had found strength after all.
She stepped aside from the entrance so that he could come in, and closed the door behind him. "How are you? I was just putting some dinner on, would you like to stay?" She hoped he would. Ever since Leah and Seth had phased, and joined Jacob's pack, she had been lonely...another reason she enjoyed Charlie's company so much. It was because he was willing to give her some time of his, despite his busy work schedule.

Sue was special too, but not in a supernatural way. . . .
Charlie paused for a moment watching her. Was she? What if Sue did it to? No. Surly he would have noticed that! . . . . Hopefully. He smiled and walked on up the steps. He at lest had a plan to try to discover what she knew. He was going to bring up something from the past, and hope it didn't hurt her to badly. "I would love to stay." He said, and pulled out his 'work' cell phone. He put it on a table near the door. Charlie didn't like carrying it but work needed to be able to talk to the Chief at all times. So he left it by the door what ever place he was at. At home, it stayed in his room. "What are you fixin' tonight?"
