---It was her on fault. Rosalie knew it was her fault she was feeling this way; the worry, the helplessness, the fear. She could see that now. She had been blind, and petty and this she what she had done. What if Edward died? What if Alice was too late?
---Rose just wanted Emmett's big comforting arms around her; wanted him to tell her it was going to be fine, and she was not to blame. Mostly, she wanted to be able to believe him. For now, she could not. Damn it! Why had she called Edward and told him about Alice's vision?
---But she knew. She missed her brother, and just wanted this over with and him home. While Edward was the Cullen, she was least close to, she missed the times when they both worked in the garage, most times even silently, and for once were perfectly in harmony. She missed those little talks about cars, and even the challenge of baseball with him. She missed Esme being happy, and even Emmett seemed to miss him allot. She had thought she was doing the right thing, hadn't she?
---Rose was sitting alone in what should have been Edwards room. His things, stilled packed up, just a few things taken out during one of his visits. Rose was on his couch, as if waiting for him to come into his room and find her and let her have what she'd earned. Please! Let Alice be in time!

Jasper felt hopeless and lost. Confused. Terrified. He had known Alice long enough to know when she was lying. She seldom, if ever, lied to him and so when she called . . . he could sense the distress in her voice, though she tried to hide it. He knew for a fact that she had lied to . . . what? Protect him? How was he supposed to protect her? He should have taken the next flight out and gone with her . . . walked into danger with her. If something happened to her . . . he would never forgive himself. He would not want to live with himself.
But instead of carrying out what he most desperately wanted to do, he stayed. He stayed because it was what Alice wanted. If she had somehow foreseen his death, then he did not want to put her through the pain of losing him. But why could she not have just said that on phone? Why did she feel she had to lie to him? He wished she would have permitted him to come. He wished they could go together, because if something happened . . . then at least they would die together or better yet, he could save her. He could protect her. Alice was so fragile . . . she was so small. And yet, Jasper sat here waiting for some kind of news. Why couldn't she have asked him to come. Why did she have to lie to him. Why could he not betray her by going against her wishes. He had to believe that she would come back to him, because the thought of losing her was absolutely unbearable.
Jasper was sitting in Alice's room . . . well, what was often described as her room since his room was more known as his study. He could smell her scent, and his silent heart ached for it. Maybe someone had heard something. Though he did not want to move from his position, and though he was so scared of hearing the news if it was bad . . . he knew he had to. He walked over to where he caught the scent of his sister -- Rosalie -- and stood in the doorway. He stayed quiet, but his expression pleaded for some sort of news. It was asked if they had heard anything. He was asking if his precious Alice was alive and on her way home.

---If vampires could cry, Rosalie would be crying. She had liked how she looked when she cried as a human. Her face turn a slight hint of red, but it was a smooth color and not blotchy or awkward. Her tears had even fallen smoothly most times, and her voice would stay clear. Now, frozen as she was, she could not cry, no matter how perfect she would have looked doing it. She could only frown, and feel the emotions with no relief the tears would bring.
---When Jasper walked into the room Rosalie didn't move at first. She didn't look at him, just away from him. She didn't want to see the hate she knew she would see there. Mostly un-earned hate. She hadn't told him to go die she told Edward to come home! . . . Maybe it was earned more then mostly. Maybe her family would never been the same? Would Jasper leave them?
---When Rosalie looked up at him, she was surprised to see no hate. At lest none she could make out on his face. It had taken her years to learn Jaspers expressions since most of them looked the same. Even still she got them wrong sometimes. Would he leave them? Would she lose another brother? "Oh Jasper!" She ran to him, wrapping her arms around his chest and burying her face in his shirt. "Don't leave!" She knew he would think she ment the room, but she meant it on a larger sale.

Jasper could feel her pain, but he made no attempt to comfort her; not with relieving her of such emotions and replacing them with calmer ones, nor immediately physically reacting to her embrace. He just stood there, silently, unsure what to say or what to do. He could do nothing. He was here, and Alice was somewhere else . . . somewhere far from here. His wife was gone. His serenity was gone. What was there left in life?
He continued to stand there, keeping his arms to his side, not replying a single word to her own plea. He was not the best person to comfort another, not when he was in this state. He wished Emmett was here, just so Jasper would not have to be in this position. He felt angry, frustrated, annoyed, and her hugging him, looking so upset and feeling guilty . . . it only increased his emotions and he felt that at any moment, he was going to break down. He could not handle her emotions, he could barley control his own.
Oh please, someone else come.
[Sure! That is a good idea, since we hoped this would a group thread!]

---Why was Jasper not holding her? Did he blame her? Would he leave her!? "Jasper!" She said in a voice that held panic and anger. "Do something!" She wanted him to tell her it would be ok, and to be like the others did on normal days and tell her she was being dramatic and over reacting and she needed to calm down! Not this horrible nothingness!
---"Why are you just standing there!" Again, she knew her words might come out misleading. It might sound as if she was begging him to do something, as in bring them back. Rosalie would have gone! Had it been Emmett she would have let nothing stop her! This only proved how much more she loved Emmett then Jasper loved his Alice. Rosalie knew they were in love but, he did not follow, were Rosalie would have.
---Rosalie wanted to follow them for Edward, and had even started to but Jasper had said they would stay here, and then Carlisle agreed. No one went against Carlisle. Not from fear but from love and respect. "JASPER!"

He could feel every emotion from her, and yet, he tried to remain as disconnected as he possibly could. He felt too powerless to try to control the situation. He was speechless when it came to words of consolation and comfort. All that he could think of, or fear, was the thought of never seeing Alice again, and carrying that guilt of not going to her as she had asked him. Jasper did not respond to Rosalie's urgent words. He knew she was worried, and panicking. But what could Jasper do?
"It is not Emmett who is out there in immediate danger." He pulled away from her, taking a step back. These words were his way of saying, that he felt far more helpless for his wife was out there; it was his wife who could potentially never come home to him; that Rosalie had compromised with the safety of his wife. Jasper knew that when it came down to it, he could only blame himself. Yet with fear came anger, and with anger, came the need for a scapegoat.
