Waiting for me (Edward)

Bella tapped her fingers impatiently on the desk. She wanted this class to end quickly she would see Edward at lunch. She was nearly bouncing out of her chair with impatience. It had seemed like days since she last seen him listening to the teacher go on with his lecture. She glanced at the clock it had only been five minutes since she last looked. She sighed another twenty minutes to go. She wasn't even paying that much attention to what lesson the teacher was on.

The teacher assigned their homework and gave them a pop quiz on the last fifteen minutes of class. She grounded her teeth grabbing her pencil. She quickly answered the questions she knew most of the answers and probably passed with no problem. Bella quickly grabbed her books as the bell rang. She tripped over her own feet as usual as she rushed to the door. She wonder if Edward would be waiting for her, he always did.

Edward wondered why Bella was a tad late, which unsettled him only a little until one of the student from her last class entered into the cafeteria. The student was mentally beating himself up for not remembering the answers to the question on the teacher's pop quiz.

Edward found himself smiling at the boy's thoughts when he saw Bella rush past him through the wide open "French Doors" of the cafeteria.
He could sense that she could not see him and he let a cheeky smile grow on his face as a small laugh escaped from his throat.

As Edward's bright eyes fell to the floor in humor and back up to Bella he waited for her to notice him.

Bella slowed her pace down some so she wouldn't end up falling in her rush to the cafeteria. She practically ran into the cafeteria the quiz had made her late. She heard a laugh, from behind her. Her heart started pounding before she looked at him. She marveled over his perfection just as she always did. She could guess he heard the thoughts of her fellow classmates and knew why she was late.

"Hi," was all Bella could manage to say. She smiled brightly at him. Had really only been an hour since she last saw him? It felt like weeks.
