Maria and her 'guest' had entered the city right after sun set. Making sure that no sun touched her flawless skin. That was what she told him anyway, when he asked why they traveled at night. Her guest was a gift, to Aro. A housewarming gift per say. The way some human brought a bottle of wine to a dinner party.
"Come now, darling." She told him, "We must find our friends." She was looking for the home that housed the Volturi. She wasn't sure quite were it was, but had some ideas. Now she just had to find it. Coming to the building she thought contained them she smiled slowly, yes. Perfect. She put her palm against to the door as if she could feel who lived there, then pulled it back, curled her fingers and knocked, once.

One of the guards put on duty on the entrance heard knock on the door. He smiled at the vampire before him and saw the human. "Hello," the guard replied. He gestured for her to enter. "What is your business?" He asked in a business matter this was his job after all their was no point in playing around.
[[[I'm going to assume you say to speak to Aro to get the thread moving.]]
"Follow me," the guard replied in a boring tone. This most certainly wasn't the most exciting job. He paused at the huge doors that Aro was behind. "Wait," it was a simple order before the guard entered the room. The guard got on knee before Aro, "Master you have a visitor.
Aro smiled a the young guard he had just recently joined. He was overjoyed to hear they had a visitor. "How splendid!" Aro exclaimed. "Please show them in!" Things had not exactly gone the way he had planned over the last few months. The Cullen's had caused some trouble and they didn't even get to destroy them. Aro shook his head his thoughts always dark and plotting.
The guard exited the room. "You may enter," He said simply before returning to his post.
Aro was truly surprised to see Maria. "Isn't this a pleasant surprise?" Aro exclaimed standing from where he sat. It was always nice to hear from old friends, even though he had come close to destroying her once or twice.

Maria smiled as she walked in grandly. "Aro Dearest, I do so hope it is a pleasant thing to always see me." Even if he had come close to killing her on occasion. "I thought I would stop by and see your home. I have wondered what it was like the few times you have graced my cites." The ones she useally lost after his visits.
"I even brought you a gift." She grabbed the human that had followed her in and tossed him down at Aro's feet. "He smelled so good. I thought, what sort of guest showed up with out a gift. I did not want to appear rude." More like she wanted to be on his good side. Maria wore a light colored sun dress and gloves that did not match it, that covered her hands and arms. She didn't like him in her head.

Aro smiled at Maria it had been such a long time since he had seen her. They had their discussions mostly on newborn armies warning her and building them for her own protection. "It is splendid to finally you come visit my home!" Aro was pleased to have Maria show up, though he had his doubts about her on occasion it was nice to see she was still around surviving and apparently staying out of trouble.
"Ah, how splendid!" Aro said venom already coursing through his mouth. "Hello there my human friend," Aro greeted the humans. "What is your name?" Aro questioned the human. He was so weak and frail such easy prey it would be almost to easy.
Joe looked back and forth between the beautiful young girl who told him she had a surprise for him. She looked like an angel how could he deny her what she wanted? He looked at the ancient looking man before him. His eyes were red just as the angel's. "Joe," He said in a whisper truly terrified. He looked back at the girl, what had she brought him to?
"Joe! How splendid to meet you," Aro said walking close to where he stood. "You do smell appealing," Aro said approvingly. "You choose your meals well my dear," Aro said looking at Maria.

"Meals?"
Maria gave a one shoulder shrug as if to say 'Oh I know'. "I found him in out side of Pairs." She explained, "He is a traveler, and I needed amusement." Another words she had 'enjoyed' him while wait for the sun to do down. Maria loved men. She would have loved to taste him but saved him for Aro.
"Wh-who are you people?"
Ignoring him as if he wasn't there Maria spoke again, "I have been traveling and seeing the world so of course when I was this close, I had to come and view the your home. Stories of it travel far and I wanted to see it first hand."

"Ah, Paris a lovely place really," Aro replied. "I was their about a few hundred years ago I'm sure its changed since then," Aro stated. "We did have some problems when we visited," Aro shook his head while the America's had the newborn armies, Europe had it's own problems of Immortal Children. It happened on occasion some vampire gets the idea for things as Immortal Children, Newborn Armies, and they would have to deal with it and end the problem. Aro moved his eyes to look at the human ah how appealing he was, but it would seem rude to eat in front of a guest.
"Hundred of years?" Joe's eyes widen trying to wrap his mind about what these strange people were talking about. He slowly began to back away. He had to get away these were not normal humans. He spun around on his feet ready to make a dash to the door.
"Ah, do we scare you that badly?" Aro questioned moving in a flash to be right in front of the human. Aro flashed his teeth at the human he should be scared. "I promise to make your death quick," Aro assured the human. It wouldn't take to long to dispose of him.
"Death," Joe stuttered was he going to die? Who were these people. How did he get in front of him so fast. Why did the angel bring here to die?

"Maria?"
Maria ignored his plea for help as she watched. She liked that Aro seemed to be enjoying his gift. She wasn't going to do anything to stop him from playing. Maria liked to play with her own food. Hunt them, make there blood pump fast, and built the anticipation. She often had hunted one human for an hour before biting in. The fear they felt would make there heart beat faster and louder. The blood moving faster made it warmer as she drank. They would try to scream and often times she would let them fit and scream liking the way it made the blood taste. Sometimes she would bite them and then let them go. Just for a few moments until they begged her to end it, and then she would. Drinking in the blood. Hmmmmm.
Tilting her head to the side she just watched as Joe and Aro moved around. "You have a wonderful home here. I quite think fits your Aro." As her city fits her. "You can tell you have worked on it for ages to make it just so."

When Maria completely ignored her he looked at the man in front of him true terror filled him. "I don't want to die," He said backing away slowly knowing their was no escape.
"Oh, yes many years indeed," Aro said in agreement. "You humans so easily frighten you take the fun out hunting," Aro said quickly grabbing him before sinking his teeth into this throat. The human was surprised as they all were, but he ended his life quickly as he had said before. He tossed the lifeless body down as one of the guards went to burn the body. "That was quiet amusing!" Aro said with a laugh.
"So Maria what have you done these past few years?" Aro asked curiously. He always wanted to know what his 'old friends' were up to. She obviously hadn't been creating armies or else she wouldn't have come here. "I saw your friend not to long ago," Aro added. He had been surprised to see him with the Cullen's. Jasper seemed more suited for another lifestyle than sticking with the Cullen's way of life. Living of the blood of animals and causing them trouble. Aro shook his head slightly such a mess these past few months have been.

Maria waited silently as Aro finished his gift. She would have to hunt once she left the city, this had made her want more. "Oh," She spoke when he asked what she had been doing. "This and that. I have been exploring the world." In hopes of finding stronger soldiers to bring back and take back over her city.
She gave a short chuckle at the idea of him seeing her friend. "I have many many friends, Aro. I make them wherever I go." She knew that by 'friends' they ment people she had pissed off. Maria didn't have friends. She had vampires who wanted her dead, and vampires who only sometimes wanted her dead. "Which friend of mind did you see?"

Aro nodded as Maria told him what she had been doing. And she question which friend. The one who had been causing the most trouble as of recent. "Oh yes, many friends," Aro replied he too had many though they all feared him and did not come visit him often. How sad that was, but they knew better than to refuse anything he requested. "We had trouble a while back you might have heard, we had thought we were going to be overthrown," Aro replied defending the way they had reacted when the faced the Cullen's. "Jasper was apart of this group. I must say I was surprised to see him there." Aro sound horrified that he would choose such a life.
Aro smiled waiting for Maria's reply. Obviously he had left, but for what reason Aro was unsure. Where they still close friends or had Jasper completely moved on and left his old life behind him? And why he choose to be the Cullen's Aro simply did not understand. They were indeed a strange family all started with Carlisle he had enjoyed his company. Then Edward coming to request death that had certainly been unusual. And what had happened in the last few months most unusual.

Maria smiled when Aro spoke of friends and being overthrown. She had not heard, since she had been more east, closer to China. She had been looking into these stealth fighters that some governments where tra---
Maria froze as he spoke again, not moving. Not breathing. Not blinking. Only half thinking. It was a very good thing Joe was dead, or she'd have broken his neck as a form of venting her anger the poured though her. JASPER! HER JASPER HAD ALMOST DONE WHAT! IT HAD BEEN HER DREAM TO OVER POWER THE VOULTRI AND HE HAD STOLEN IT!
Maria still had not moved, while she was thinking. Turning her head up to face Aro, eyes narrowed and a tight smile on her face that did not look pleased she spoke. For once her voice held none of the amusement it normal did. It was colder, harsher. "I beg your pardon, Aro. Did you say Jasper almost overthrew you? As in . . . . My Jasper?"

Aro watched Maria's reaction in amazement. She seemed displeased. "It turned out to be a huge misunderstanding," Aro replied. "With such a large group of vampires what were we to think? Of course we left in peace no harm was done, but something more amazing was added to our history!" Aro was still amazed a half-breed who would have ever dreamed of such an existence? Certainly not Aro in his three thousand years this was a fist. "A half-breed can you believe it my dear?" Aro said still amazed after the incident.
"And yes my dear your Jasper," Aro finally answered Maria's question. He was still amazed about the half-breed and upset about what had happened. It turned out to be nothing he had been looking forward to gaining many, but things had certainly turned out different. Aro's thoughts were darker now and his face reflected it the smile on his face was one of displeasure and plotting. Not one he wore much. "Such a mess he and his family has caused us," Aro replied a bit more darker than usual. He wanted away to get them back, but how?

Maria was going to kill someone.
"My Jasper?!" She repeated between gritted teeth. So many vampires?! He had his own army!? HALF BREEDS?! Maria took in a deep breath, "Aro Dearest." Voice still tight and eyes blazing in anger. "You might want want to start from the beging. Were did you last see Jasper and his new found . . . friends?" Maria was making plans. She was going to make Jasper pay for bring her army down and leaving her. Pay by either giving her a new one, his half breed army or whatever, or she was going to ruin his life. Both of which only counted if she managed not to KILL him. Maria was calming down enough to start thinking clearer.
Jasper had an army, that made the Aro's army back off . . . . An Army she could lead. . . .

"That would probably be for the best it's a rather long story my dear," Aro said remembering the events that lead up to this event. "But we have all of eternity don't we?" Aro questioned. Yes they all the time they would ever need.
"You've heard of the Immortal Children correct?" Aro questioned as this was how the mess was started. "Irina one of the members of the Denali's that live in Alaska live like the Cullen's off the blood of animals. Her mother had created and Immortal and her and her sisters' have high regard for the rules that must be kept. She had seen what appeared to be an Immortal Child that the Cullen's had. I wold hate to think my dear friend Carlisle would go against such a thing. But if so he and his family were to be punished."
"We began to receive word that they were building an army so of course we had to bring the entire guard and our own witnesses of course," Aro always liked and audience, but this one had backfired on him. "We saw the child in question, Renesmee, she is unlike any you have ever seen. And is no Immortal Child. She has a heartbeat, blood running through her veins, but she is a vampire. A half-breed, half human, half vampire. Have you ever dreamed of such an existence?" Aro questioned he was still amazed by the very idea.
"The Cullen's army was no more than witness to make us stop and listen to what they had to say. They had witnessed the child grow the weeks they had stayed. But what were we to expect the child was an unknown and a danger to our way of life. That is until dear Alice and Jasper appeared," Aro wanted Alice still. He wanted her more than anything. But he wasn't going to tell Maria that her talent was something he craved.
"They had found another half-breed and turns out their are two others somewhere apparently a vampire named Joham thinks he can create a super breed. We most certainly will get to him." Aro finished thinking about Joham yes they still needed to chase him down. [/color]

Jasper was hunting half breeds. He had an army. Everything she had taught him, and build him to be he had used to do what she most wanted, but he had done it without her. It made his betrayal of leaving her all the more fresh. She had not loved in in any way but he was so useful. He had gotten troublesome in the later years but his gift was the one thing she could not afford to lose and he had pulled a rug from under her when he just left.
Damn him! It should have been her! Her on the field taught Aro and his minions! Her army! Her power! Jasper, Jasper, Jasper. . . . . She was going to have to see about returning the 'favor' he had done her. "Who is Alice?" He had said Jasper and Alice. Was she his mate? His weakness . . . . .

"Alice is a most gifted vampire what I would give to gain her in my collection," Aro replied. Oh how he wanted her, he would give up anything to have her. The future right in his hands to know what to expect what will happen. Ever since Edward had come to him to request death the picture of both Edward and Alice in gray robes by his side. The present and the future all their within his finger tips. Aro had hoped the immortal child had been real he would have conquered and gained much if it had. Such a disappointment it had been.
"Such talent," Aro was still amazed at finding such a talent in the world. And she belonged with Carlisle how had someone like him gained so much? "It is a shame she refused my offer it would have been splendid to have her join." Aro had asked Alice when she came after her brother, but unfortunately she had refused.

Maria really didn't care who Alice was. She wanted to know WHO Alice was. "She is a friend of Jaspers, his mate, his coven?" She questioned listing off possibilities. She wanted details not his opinions and wishes. Maria was glad someone could deny him something. She was mostly unable. If he truly wanted to he could read her everything thought and know her dirty laundry. Jasper, Jasper, Jasper. . . . Her anger almost gone now as possibilities started filling her mind.
She wasn't sure what she would do, but she knew she needed to know everything there was to know about the new friends Jasper had been making, and Aro was the source for everything she needed.

"Jasper's mate," Aro answered calmly. "A bit curious you are," Aro noticed looking at Maria. She didn't even care about her power one that he wanted and would have one day. He would have to find some way to gain this power. Maybe the Cullen's would do something to attract their attention once again corner them that they had done something wrong. While he did respect Carlisle and was happy for his success he was jealous. He had one that he wanted badly the ability to read the future he could see it now. Alice in gray robes that the guard wore one hand on her shoulder seeing the future right along side her. Being able to see what would happen, what to prepare for.
"But I suppose that is expected," Aro added. Jasper was a great ally of hers and had left her and was now with the Cullen's whose lifestyle was wildly different. A large coven the second only to his own and many had unusual talents.

"Yes," Maria said, shortly. She was lacking in her famous 'people skills' at the moment. "Expected." She usually could charm any thing about of just about anyone. "How many are in his coven." Maria was to busy thinking in her head, and planning to try to be subtle with Aro right now. She was still shocked, and a bit angry. "How many have gifts?" She needed to know what they were as well. What to expect, how best to enter and plan. How to play the perfect hand in order, to deal the perfect blow.

"And who are you my dear to be questioning me for more information?" Aro demanded an answer. He was the leader of the Volturi no one dared to question him. Why should he give her the answers she was seeking? She wanted all the information he had on the Cullen's given to her. She was in no position to be demanding answers, after all this was his home, his castle, he was very protected here. If he got tired of her he could easily have removed or even killed. "Have you forgotten whom you are talking to?" Aro questioned a frown on his face. He took a step toward Maria the guard that were against the wall behind him sleeked toward him hearing their master's tone. They were there to warn Maria, to remind her she was in no position to be demanding or questioning anything. They hovered protectively over their master watching Maria carefully waiting to see her reaction.
Of course maybe he could ease her to causing the Cullen's trouble maybe make them cause trouble so he would have to stop them. Possibly at long last he could gain Alice and the others that had gifts. But he was not going to give her any answers just yet.

Pausing Maria looked over at Aro doing her very best not to glare at him. How dare he speak to her like that. If he had been a normal vampire, she had thought about killing him, but he wasn't. He was Aro with 32 minions. "Aro Dearest, I am just trying to understand. One moment he was there and with me, and the next he was gone. my little woman feels were hurt." More like she knew he was losing heart for battle and she when he left she lost control of everything she was building up.
"I was just thinking of learning more about what he is up to these days. When I think of wanting more information, I think of you. You know so much. . . .perhaps you will share some knowledge with me?"

"His coven has been more troublesome as of recent than any," Aro stated. Of course he knew everything he had read every thought he knew what had been going in the family. How Jasper had joined the coven how this mess about the supposed Immortal Child had been started. "Yes my dear I do know," Aro said a smile forming on his lips. "I know everything that has happened. Rather interesting." It had been interesting how Carlisle's family had come together. How he envied him for those he had. The rarity of the half-breed, the one talent he would give anything up for the ability to see the future. And to some extent even those dogs they seemed more like guard dogs to him.
But to say he was not happy for his old friend's success would also be a lie. He was most pleased with his success he had been surprised how much it had pleased him. To know how successful he was in his way of life he had thought that he would have faded from his diet, but to find others that shared his view was most astonishing. But apparently also caused trouble for him.

Yes, yes yes. He knew everything and she needed to know only parts of everything. Everything about the Cullens and it appeared she was going to have to drag every little thing about the coven out of his controlling mouth. Sometimes Maria thought Aro knew of her past and left her alive to toy with her! It drove her mad the way he was always threatening her and 'finding her in wrong places at wrong times'.
"His coven? I am going to assume that Jasper dearest is not the leader." If he was her head might explode there, "Who dose lead this coven of. . . .hmmm, how many are in this coven?" She said it as if she was being causal but she wasn't. Oh no. Maria didn't bother learning anything that she couldn't use.

Aro smiled at Maria she was very curious. "Carlisle an old friend leads the coven or rather family as he calls it. Very interesting vampire and his way of life. I had thought he wouldn't had survived but his success pleases me some!" Aro could remember clearly when he met Carlisle and the time the spent. Both of the tried to persuade the other to their way of life. "To live off the blood of animals I can't imagine anyone living off it for very long," Aro kept talking still surprised at how large the coven eight vampires and one half-breed so very interesting. He wanted what Carlisle had a vampire to read the future the rare half-breed.
"A very large coven," Aro frowned with displeasure. "Larger than our own excluding our guard," Aro did not like that at all. But his guard were enough to stop them, of course they had gathered so many vampires before who's to say they won't do it again. All the more reason to stop them in advance.

Carlisle. Alice. Two names so far. Wait! What? "Animal blood? They don't drink real blood?!" maria was shocked. "Really? Why would they do that?!" Jasper was like that now? Did it make them stronger, or something? Why on earth would they want to drink animal blood and not enjoy humans? It made no since. It was unappealing. Humans smelled so good, better the any caw or rabbit she had smelled. Why on earth....? "Larger then your own?" Maria made a mental not to not go alone then.
"Carlisle is an old friend? I have not meet him, how long have you known him?" She asked, starting her plan of learning everything she could.

"Yes my dear it is a bit strange," Aro could tell Maria was shocked by the news of drinking animal blood. "They don't want to be monsters," Aro stated the reason. "Ah, the conversations Carlisle and I would get in over this very subject. He would try to persuade me to drink of animal blood and I have of human neither of us would change our diet it was very interesting," Aro added remembering Carlisle's time here with the Volturi. "How I miss those very interesting conversations of course all the Cullen's are unique so many talents," Aro paused. So many talents he wanted, that one day he would indeed get.
"I've known Carlisle for centuries," Aro answered her question. "Though it has been sometime since he's come visit me I'm a bit surprised it's been so long," Aro sounded disappointed. Of course he excepted that of all the vampires he met even Maria who stood before him.

"Why are you surprised?" Maria asked as she tucked more and more information away for later. How many talents did the Cullens have? Maria was also trying to question Aro with out him having another one of his fits and shutting up. "What other talents do they have?" Maria asked trying to sound sweet and not manipulative.
She wondered what Aro would do if he knew of her plan, would be let her go or order his gaurd to stop her since he was friends with the coven leader. Hmmm. Maria knew better then to risk it so she better tread carefully and not let him know of her plan. Until she was more certain of his reaction at lest.

"Why my dear it's just been such a long time since I've talked to Carlisle here in Volterra," Aro replied as if the answer was obvious. While he had spoken to him briefly in their most recent encounter he would have hoped to have him talk with him much more in his own city and much more recent. Perhaps someday that would happen and soon he would like to talk and get into some of the interesting conversations that they before had gotten into.
Aro narrowed his eyes slightly. "Curious today," Aro stated looking at Maria. He was not one to be asked questions he was the ones to be asking the questions. He was growing tired of this why should he give her anymore information. "It seems you have things a bit backward my dear," Aro added moving closer to her. His guard automatically shadowing his every step. "So many questions," Aro mused, "Something I am not liking," Aro showed his displeasure of her questions. "I'm not one to be questioned. I do believe I've given you more than enough information," Aro kept his face calm calculated.
Aro was the leader he did not have to share any of the information and he was growing tired of Maria's constant questioning. He didn't like this. He of course could do what he want. He could find out what she was hiding and he knew that she was hiding something from him. He didn't want to remind her once again that she was in no position to be asking him questions. She was in his city, she was by far outnumbered. Their was nothing she could do to make him give her any more information than he wanted to give her.

"Aro Dearest!" Maria said, "I am simply showing interest in a friends' life. . . Two friend's lives." Maria wished she could drag him back to her city, build an army and use them to make him talk. "Both yours and Jaspers lives." Maria made a pout on her face, "I have not seen him in so long, and the reasons behind his leaving of my still make me wonder. . . . "
"What have I done wrong to him. I am trying to understand his new life and how dramatically it has changes since his time with me." She lost the pout and smiled softly at him, "You are used to learning everything at once, us normal vampires with no skills still have to do this the old fashion way. I am forced to ask questions, and interpret the answers. Do you remember a time when you had to do such?"

Aro laughed when was there a time when he did not know everything? When he was human over three thousand years ago? His human life was faded he didn't even recall what it was like. "My dear I can not remember such a time," Aro responded. This had distracted him for a time thinking about his past his human life he could not remember. He wonder what it had been like not that it really mattered. His vampire life far more grander than he would have ever been as a human. One of the first vampires it was certainly a treasure to behold. And of course shortly after his life as a vampire began he formed the Volturi with Caius and Marcus. His sister followed shortly as did his wife Sulpicia.
Aro focused back on the reason for his previous anger. "But why do you ask me?" Aro questioned. He knew the answer but wouldn't it be better to seek the information she wanted from the source from the Cullen's themselves? "It wouldn't take you to long to reach the Cullen's I can only give you so much they themselves have far more." This was true Aro had only read Edward's thoughts he had only read Alice's thoughts but once. "I'm sure you can get the information you require and perhaps pass it to me?" Aro smiled at this statement. He would love for Maria to gather information and give it to him. He could plan on how to get those he wanted most. Talents he wanted in his guard he would give almost anything for.
