A forest somewhere in Switzerland, year: 809. It had been roughtly eight years since Carmen had left the camp, eight years since she was transformed brutally by a rogue vampire whom had though she was entirely drained of blood when he left her like all the other bodies. Nobody else survived in the large group of Christians and Catholiques that were held captive in the camp. This left Carmen to roam alone, as rogue as her transformer. She had made her way from Spain to Switzerland with time, feeding frequently when she could.
It had been about two months since Carm came to Switzerland, and she had been passing through villages, looking for her next meals. She came across an other small village and the smell was even more irrisitable here. Her instincts took over instantly. Her deep red eyes were while with hunger and fury. Within a few hours, she almost had the whole village drained dry, but she was stopped. It did not first register in her mind what was going on when two men took her roughly and dragged her away from her prey, she was still trying to sink her teeth into the fleash to the man she was holding a second ago. The further away they dragged her, the more she started to come to her senses, realizing that something was wrong. These men were vampires, obviously. She couldn't break free from their hold, and they did not smell humanly. Carmen was angry at first, as she tried to break free. Who were these men? Why had they stopped her? Cam snarled furiously as her last spert of vampiric instinct left. That's when they finally let her go -- they threw her to the ground. She landed in a crouched position, facing them. She stood up, taking a step back only to find herself bumping into someone else. Carm whipped around to see many other vampires there. For some reason, she didn't feel very freightened, more confused, really. She had never met an ohter vampire.

Aro was well aware there was a vampire causing trouble. Close to Switzerland. Aro had been in control for nearly a thousand years. He had to make sure everyone followed the one rule that could not be broken. They must keep their existence a secret. Aro was traveling with several guard members. Aro could not be certain if this was just one vampire or a group of vampires. No matter how many they would all be stopped. They would be destroyed. A newborn perhaps, but even if that was the case they would be destroyed. The Volturi did not give second chances. One should know by now about the Volturi. That they do not tolerate anyone breaking their rule. There was only one law that must be followed: keep the secret. This vampire or vampires was disobeying just that. So many humans were being destroyed while that wouldn't bother Aro the other humans were coming much to suspicious.
Humans knew about vampires and it was difficult enough making them believe they were not real. The Romanians had ensured that humans believed in them. Knew about them and feared them. In a thousand years Aro had made some progress in making humans think otherwise, but this was difficult when vampires kept breaking the law. They would be destroyed. Nothing would stop this. Aro may personally destroy this vampire or if there was more a couple of them. He would prove he was the leader he loved showing his power. Aro wore the purest black of robes showing his position showing he was in power. The guard wore slightly lighter colors showing they were below him. Marcus and Caius had remained in Volterra for this trip, but Aro had wanted to see to this personally. He wanted to know who had decided to cause trouble for them.
Aro easily picked up the scent of the vampire. It seemed there was just one. This would be easier to take care of. Aro order two of the guards to bring the vampire to him. He would destroy this vampire personally. They would learn quickly they were not to disobey them. Even if they were a newborn and completely unaware of them he would still destroy this vampire. They never gave second chances. The guard knew this. This would be a simple task. Something he could have simply let the guard do if he had chosen to stay in Volterra. Aro smiled slightly as the vampire was placed before him and the other guards. "You do realize what you have just done?" Aro question his voice completely calm. Whether she knew or not she would be destroyed. "You have endangered our existence. I'm afraid, my dear, you must be destroyed." There was no other option.

Carmen stared at the many cloaked vampires before her, curious as to whom they were and what they wanted from her. One vampire in a pure midnight black cloak was obviously the head of the group for he stood at the front and wore the only cloak of that colour. He had this appearence of being someone very high in power and authority, it was easy to see this by the way he presented himself and the way he spoke.
Did she know what she had done? She was feasting, she didn't understand why he seemed so upset with her. He wasn't her boss, why should she answer to him when she had no idea whom he was. Better find out, she guessed. "Who are you? All of you?" She started to feel freightened a little, it was probably just something instinctive or subconsional that told her she should fear them all, but her voice exposed none of it.
Carmen realized, afterwards, that she should have felt freightened from the beginning, after the man she asumed was the leader spoke. They were going to distroy her! What that possible? Could a vampire be distroyed? "Wha-what did I do?" Cam stuttered a little at the beginning, terrified at the thought. But she had no idea what she had done wrong. She was just hunting like she usually did, she had done nothing out of the ordinary and thus nothing wrong -- from her persepective.

"The Volturi," Aro stated calmly. Most of the time Aro appeared enthusiastic, friendly even when meeting a new vampire. Aro loved meeting new vampires. Learning about them finding out if they had any talents that would be of use. He was always looking for way to gain power. But this was certainly different. After all he was about to destroy this vampire. There was no reason for pleasantries. The girl could be a newborn after all killing ever human in this village seemed completely out of control. It still would not matter. She would still be destroyed. In a way he was showing his power. Adding to his power. Showing he was in charge and he was the leader. Allowing yet another demonstration to show the Volturi are in control of their world. They will not allow anyone to reveal what they are.
This girl did not even realize what she had done? "My dear you have destroyed an entire village. The humans are becoming far to suspicious. You have revealed our existence. This is something we can not allow. We have rules we must enforce and you have broken them." Aro would at the very least allow her to know what she had done wrong. Though she would not have a second chance. She would not be able to learn from her mistakes. She would be destroyed. There are not other options for those who do not obey. Any who do will be destroyed. They have had several demonstrations of this already. Every immortal should know by now about the Volturi. If they did not they would soon learn. With each demonstration they had the showed just how powerful they were. How strict they were. They would enforce their rules.
Aro kept his expression calm as he nodded at the two guards who had once held Carmen to hold her position. Aro took several steps closer to the vampire. Raising his hands slightly ready to kill the vampire himself. Once he was finished the guards would tear her to pieces and burn the body. This is how so many demonstrations were done. He was not always the one to destroy the vampire usually the guard handled this alone. But on occasion Aro or one of the other leaders would see to this themselves. It just so happen Aro had decided to this time.

Eleazar of course would be going with Aro and the other members of the Volturi to destroy this rouge vampire. Feasting on an entire town? Eleazar felt slight pity for this one, obviously a new born. He would go along to be sure that this new born didn't have any special ability. If he or she did then Aro might want to keep him or her instead of destroy them. Eleazar wore the usual blood red cape drawn around him. He stood slightly behind Aro with the rest of the Volturi not yet even taking in the woman who had killed almost an entire town's worth of people. He finally got a chance to look at her and he paused. She was intensely lovely in ways Eleazar had never noticed in another female. Eleazar could tell that she had no special ability so to speak but he didn't want her destroyed. He wanted her to thrive, to live on and be in his arms forever. Eleazar couldn't believe the extent he felt for her. After so many years of just mindless loyalty, doing his job day after day with no question, she lit up his mind. It wasn't just her beauty, he could feel so much more coming from her. She was brilliant and charming and so much more. It wasn't really possible for him to know these things having just met the girl in quite impossible circumstances but he knew that she had to live. Whether it be with him, or just her living on somewhere brightening the life of someone else. This girl could not be destroyed. Eleazar ever so slowly stepped closer to Aro, he held out his hand calmly to his leader trying not to over react and pull the girl into his arms. He did make eye contact for a moment, an ever so slight smile on his face, the smallest tip of his head in greeting. He was going to save her no matter what it took. Let Aro make of this what he would.

The name 'Volturi' said nothing to her, it had no meaning to her. Carmen was still unaware of whom she was up agasint -- who they were. She was afraid to ask anymore questions. Her terrified eyes looked over the hooded and cloaked vampire before her. They all had different colours -- different cloaks. This would have intreeged Carm more if the situation were any other than it persently was. Each face she looked apon would forever be etched in her mind. Every sick expression each one held as they watched her. As she looked over one face, it seemed out of place, though she still feared it. She couldn't figure out what it was about him that made him stand out because the leader spoke again, catching her attention with a jump.
Carmen's face only got more terrified the more she listened. She didn't know any better! Why was she to be distroyed when she knew no better? She had been doing this for about eight years, and now she was being told it was wrong. Cam didn't know there were rules to being a vampire. As he approached, she instinctively backed away, taking only about a step back before the two men behind her grabbed her again, with more force than before. Of course, she struggled against them, yelling and screaming. She didn't want to die, she didn't deserve to. One pushed her down to her knees brutally and they held her wiht even more force as she tried harder to get free. "Please!" She begged for her life, it would help her at all. "Please!" The leader raised his arms slightly, preparing.
The man in the red cloak she had noticed before walked up to the man in the black. He was... gorgeous. Carmen was a little awed by him. But she didn't understand why he smiled at her, in a nice way. What was he doing?

The girl had broken the rules even if she was a newborn, even if she did not know about the rules they made no exceptions. Aro kept his expression completely calm. Even as the girl begged for her life Aro kept his expression the same. It would do no good to beg to him. She had to be destroyed. He had destroyed so many vampires before this would be no different. There was so much more he needed to do. So much to plan, some much to think about. But all could wait for a few moments more. It wouldn't take long to kill this vampire. Once he was finished the guard would tear her up. They would make sure she was burned. Then they needed to make absolutely sure there were no humans in the village. They had to make sure they were all destroyed as well. They could not allow any witnesses to survive.
Aro paused glancing at Eleazar. A small smile formed at the possibility that this vampire may have some talent. Something that would be of use to him. Aro brushed his fingers against Eleazar's palm allowing him to read his thoughts. Aro instantly frowned. Did he honestly think he cared if he had any feelings for this girl? For this girl who had exposed them? Who had to be destroyed? And even more she had no talent. Nothing that would be of use to him. Aro would destroy this girl regardless if one of the guards opposed this or not. Aro would do absolutely anything for power why should this be any different?
"Eleazar," Aro kept his tone calm, calculated. It was obvious he was displeased with him as he turned his eyes toward the guard. "The girl has broken the rules. She must be destroyed. I care not what your opinion on the matter is." Aro would not even reconsider letting this girl live. She had broken the rules that was enough to destroy her. "We do not give second chance. You know this." Aro was very displeased with Eleazar he had been with the Volturi long enough to know this. He knew better than to let his opinion be known. Even more so when the girl had no talent. If she was no use to him then she was better off to be destroyed than cause even more suspicion around the humans.

Eleazar watched this girl beg for her life and he instantly ground his teeth together as two members of the guard stepped forward and forcefully pushed her to her knees. As Aro very clearly dismissed his feelings, Eleazar felt something in side him break. Loyalty. His loyalty to the Volturi, to this power hungry uncaring vampire broke. Even Chelsea wouldn't be able to get him to help the Volturi again, his love for this girl, one he didn't even know, was stronger than any loyalty he'd ever felt. He had tried being careful about it. He had done as he had many other times kept things quiet, stayed as obedient as possible in such a situation. He had tried to allow Aro the chance to be human, to show that although Eleazar was a helpful tool, he also had meaning as well, had feelings. Now He was free, broken of them. He was going to make a scene but he'd have to be careful about it. If he started to be rude or he pushed things to far, Aro would just destroy the both of them. He wanted to throw off his robes, stand in front of Aro and tell him exactly how he felt. Yelling things about how cruel he was, how heartless and disturbing he was. How before Eleazar had looked to Aro as a mentor, proud of the power Aro had gained. Not any longer though, power had it's price and Eleazar was not willing to pay it. Eleazar moved so he was in front of Aro, just out of reach so Aro wouldn't be able to read his thoughts, his face completely clear of emotion. "We don't give second chances, this is true," Eleazar began feeling disgusted at saying we, he wasn't a part of this any longer. He'd done some disturbing things for this coven in the past and he'd have to live with them, but this was it. No longer would he be apart of the Volturi, they could have their power, they could stay heartless and volatile, Eleazar could not. His heart had come back, the second he locked eyes with hers. "This is a small request. The life of one." Eleazar knew he'd have to beg for the girl's life. Begging might just amuse Aro enough that he could take the girl and get away before the amusement faded, before he changed his mind. Eleazar had seen Aro change his mind in the past. it hadn't been pleasant. "Please. Spare her life. She is knew to our ways, she doesn't even know who we are! Master she's just a child." Eleazar begged, his eyes flying from Aro's displeased face and to the girl's frightened one behind him. He didn't like referring to her as a child, she was anything but a child in Eleazar's eyes. She was a beautiful woman, a powerful woman to have stolen his heart so quickly. Referring to her as a child might help matters though and he'd do anything to save her.

Still, she fought as hard as she could to break free from the forceful grip the men had apon her. It was pretty useless, and it did not help her cause. Each time she moved the pulled back on her with a jerk, and causing her to whimper and yell. Carmen knew she probably would not get loose, but she knew she would die trying, no pun intended, though it is true.
When the man in the black robe spoke of their being no second chances, Cam started to beg again. "Please, sir! Please!" Her voice was shakey now and were she human, she would have been drenched in tears by now. Carmen was never the most emotional person, but she could not help it. She really did not want to die. There was so much she had never had the chance to do in her two lives, and now she regretted never persueing them before, now that she was facing her death.
Eleazar, that was his name. The name of the man she had noticed from the beginning. He was positively the most handsome man she had ever seen in her horrible life. What he was doing how ever, shocked her, but she still feared for her life with every fiber of her body. Eleazar was asking the leader to spare her. He wanted to spare her! Carmen instantly felt grateful... and figured out the odd feeling she had had when she looked at him for the first time; it was love. She loved him. But, she hardly knew him. For all she knew, he could still be a cold-hearted as the rest of them, but she felt love for him.
Carmen looked back at his 'master' awaiting an answer. Would she live or would she die?! "Ah!" She yelled when she was being jerked back again by one of the two men. Listening to Eleazar plea to the black robed vampire and stuggled in her fight to escape as she observed, terrified even more.

Aro simply glanced at the girl as she begged. She would be destroyed Eleazar nor any other guard would change his mind on that matter. She had broken the rules she had to be destroyed. There was no other option. Aro had seen so many vampires before this girl beg for life. Beg to give them a second chance. That they will not break the rules again. So many lies, so many stories. It's not to say they would not, but why risk it? They have broken the rules once who's to say they won't try again? If they allowed everyone to have a second chance that would make the Volturi seem weak. The Volturi were strong and powerful. They could not afford to seem generous. They needed an appearance of being justified yes, but that would not make them weak. They would be just in all their actions. They would only destroy those that have broken the rules. Or find some reason if there was something he wanted, something to threaten them with.
Aro looked at Eleazar curiously since when did Aro willingly give request? Only if it would give him an advantage would he grant this small request. "Dear Eleazar she is of no use to us. She has no talent. She has broken the rules. She is of no use at all. She needs to be destroyed." Eleazar had just proves she had no talent. Aro had been pleased when he had held out his hand. He had hoped the girl would have a talent of some kind, but no not a single talent. Nothing that would give Aro and advantage. There was no reason to allow this girl to live. And Eleazar was certainly not going to change Aro's mind on the matter.
Was Eleazar really going to beg for him to spare this girl? Aro was not one to change his mind that easily. She had broken the rules she needed to be destroyed. There was no other option. "We have destroyed those that have not known about us or our rules before. You yourself have done so before, have you not? This is no different." Aro was certain he had sent Eleazar to destroy a few vampires before. Those that may not have known about them as well. It didn't matter. He should know this and accept it. The girl would be destroyed and there was nothing he could do to change his mind.

Eleazar was getting to the point where he was about to make a stupid mistake. he had been with the Volturi for about a decade and still he was finding it rather difficult to continue as calm as he was. He wanted to yell and push the two members holding her aside, scoop her up and run! Then he'd slow down and think about the consequences for such actions and reconsider his move. Hid mind was racing what could he possibly do to make Aro understand, to threaten him in a safe way? Sympathy was such as Hell not going to work, Aro didn't care about Eleazar's feelings, he was probably disgusted that after all these years of obedience he had any feelings at all. Eleazar shut his mouth tight, trying his best to look nonchalant about this, although Aro already knew how he felt about the girl. "Surely she would be of use. Shes made it for how long now, and hasn't been caught by even us? She can be of great use, she is perfect for spy work so to say." Eleazar was grasping at straws he was not going to let them kill her. He looked at her again struggling in the arms of the guard, his fellow members hurting her. He wanted to grab her and hold her close, but that might be pushing things a little too much. "She could be a huge asset to us." He continued although it sounded weak even to his own ears. He was trying his best to plead to Aro's want of power, his deep desire to control things. If she was a tool, he'd want her. So Eleazar wished to make her look like one, a useful one.

[[Short sorry. All my post seem short today . . .]]
"You have allowed me to know she has not talent. You reasons for uses are nothing. She will not give us any advantage therefore she is to be destroyed." Aro was not going to allow this girl to live. Aro had read clearly the feelings Eleazar had felt for this girl, but Aro could really care less. Aro would do absolutely anything for power he had showed this over and over. This certainly was no exception. The girl had broken the rules she had to be destroyed. Even if she knew nothing about there there would no other option. They never gave second chances. Unless there may be a talent of use Aro may change his mind. More so if the power was powerful. This girl clearly had no power.
"Eleazar," Aro's tone was disapproved. Eleazar was usually quiet and allowed them to do what needed to be done. "She will never be of any asset she will be destroyed. There is nothing you can do to change my mind." Aro didn't like his guard challenging his decision. Most did not. This girl had broken the rules Aro had to act justified. If they allowed this vampire to live who's to say she wouldn't break the rules again? They could not allow such a risk to exist. "She is a risk if I allow her to live. We cannot have that. Another demonstration of what happens when you break the rules." Aro loved having demonstration showing his power allowing others to know he was in charge.

☥ Eleazar Denali ☥ Eleazar grew in his anger, and desperation. It wasn't only a want to save the young vampire now, it was a need. He needed to save her. "She is not a risk Master. Can you not see how very frightened we have made her? The very name Volturi will strike fear in her eyes for years to come. She is no risk. She knows the rules now, she will not lose control again." Eleazar's eyes grew tight and he shook his head just the tinniest bit. There was no getting to Aro. No convincing this vampire of anything. He wasn't interested in anything unless it helped him gain power. Eleazar struggled to think of something that would make Aro change his mind. What could he possibly give to make Aro understand? Give, no give wasn't the right word. What could he take away. Yes! Aro wouldn't want to lose one of his powers. One of his most loyal members with such a unique and helpful ability as his. He formulated the best way to strike this bargain. Knowing there was little time left to do so, to save her. "Do not destroy her. Let her go. She is not a threat to us. She knows what will happen if she loses control again. Aro do not destroy her, for if you do. You lose me as well." Eleazar had never called Aro by his name like that. He had always been the loyal servant. Sir and Master were always close behind any words he said to Aro. Not today, today he was serious. A bargain vampire to vampire. Not Master to loyal servant. He waited, the air was tense. Everyone present waiting to see how Aro would react to such words. Eleazar had struck low. Hitting Aro where it would affect him the most. Taking away his power, meant less power for Aro. Less power for Aro, was like less oxygen for a human being.

Carmen watched helplessly, looking up at the two. She was terrified, and would forever be so of these Volturi. But this... Eleazar, she wasn't fearful of him. He was trying to save her. The leader, Aro, was making it hard for him, but Eleazar was determinded. He did not know her, but he really loved her, Carmen figured. He was risking so much. Carm already knew she liked him, but it grew the more he tried to spare her life. But she was still in danger; her feelings had to wait.

"Dear Eleazar, if we allow this one vampire to live what do you think will happen?" Aro was not going to let this girl live. They did not give second chances. The Volturi were known for this. If they allowed second chances others would only take advantage of this. This was certainly not something Aro was going to allow. "There is a reason we don't give second chances. We cannot be certain they won't try to break our rules." Aro would not give any one a chance to break their rules a second time. They should know about the Volturi. They should know not to break their rules. To expose what they are. "They may be terrified right now, but they could quickly change their mind. Once the threat is gone they may try to break the rules once more. This is something we will not tolerate." Aro would not take any chances that their rules would be broken. It would not be tolerated. Any found breaking their rules were to be destroyed. It was a simple as that.
Aro kept completely calm. He did not let his displeasure show. Eleazar was serious. His tone was obvious as well as how he addressed him. By his name rather than Master. Never had Eleazar ever called him by his name. Since the first day he had come to Volterra he had been interested in the Volturi as well as very loyal. It seemed this girl had changed all of that. A very displeasing thought. Aro would not lose Eleazar. Aro looked Chelsea most displeased with her. Chelsea did meet Aro's eyes. No doubt trying to make Eleazar loyal to with no success. Aro turned his attention back to Eleazar who was no longer the loyal servant. He would leave if Aro destroyed this girl. Aro would not lose any of his power. He wanted power more than anything. If allowing this girl to live would allow him to keep his power he would allow it. "If I let her live you will remain with the Volturi?" Aro questioned his tone completely calm. He would not lose any of his power.

Eleazar
As the girl looked up at him he tried to give her the slightest of smiles. However he kept most of his attention on Aro. When Aro asked that first question it was rhetorical, he knew this but he had to fight himself from answering. He really wanted to be like well I think she'll most likely not make this mistake again. However he stayed silent. He didn't want to anger Aro, he wanted Aro to let the girl live, this was his only want at this point, his only need. Eleazar felt badly for Chelsea for she would be unable to sway him using her power. This girl had stolen him completely and Chelsea's power had no affect any longer. As Aro looked back at him he didn't even waste a moment thinking. "Yes I will stay if she is set free and is safe from our harm." Eleazar agreed. He wanted to ask her name, to know as much as he could about this beautiful girl but he could not ask Aro these things. He wondered if after this he might have a moment to speak with her. Eleazar waited silent as Aro decided both of their fates. If he killed this girl, Eleazar's life would drastically change. He would be free again. Alone. He would search for another coven and if he found none would try living among the humans he supposed. Or maybe he'd find a way to take his own life. Aro might be helpful then. if the girl lived or if she died either way his life would never be the same. She had touched him in a way he never thought possible. He was alive again because of this girl.

Aro kept his face completely calm, calculated as Eleazar answered his question. This was very upsetting to decide what to do what would be best. Certainly destroying the girl would for the best. After all she had broken their rules. They never gave second chances this girl should be no different. They could not be giving second chances to vampires it would not be tolerated. They were the Volturi and known enforcing their rules. Rules that this girl had broken. She should not be allowed to remain alive it should not be tolerated. Eleazar had witnessed just how they enforced their rules he even had even been sent to destroy a few vampires himself. This girl should be no different even if he did feel strongly for her. She had broken the rules there will be no exceptions for someone breaking the rules. The Volturi were not known to give second chances if they did they would appear weak. Vampires would be asking for second chances and use this to only break the rules once more. Aro would never tolerate this to happen.
However, Aro was power hungry and he would absolutely anything to keep or gain more power. Eleazar was far to vaulable to lose. His talent was of great use he would not lose such a talent. He only added to his power enabling him to gain other talents. To know exactly what kind of talents they could have. Even humans. It was vaulable and made the Volturi all the more powerful. It allowed them to plan against others to know exactly what they were up against. Aro would not lose this talent. Aro would do anything for power and that included allowing this girl to live. Aro was not to fond of the idea, but what choice did he really have? If he destroyed the girl he would lose Eleazar as well. If he did not he kept Eleazar but she was risk being kept alive. It was a tough decision. Naturally he would choose the one that would allow him to keep power. He would do absolutely anything to keep his power. There would never a price to high.
Perhaps at the risk of allowing this one vampire to live. If she, however, did happen to break their rules again Aro would not hesitate to destroy her. She would become a rare exception only because he needed power. Aro turned toward the vampire that had broken the rules his appearance still calm. "We don't give second chances. This is a rare exception something that most likely will never happen again. We will keep a close watch on you if you even come close to breaking our rules you will be destroyed without any heistation." This was threat Aro would carry out. He would make sure this vampire was watched make sure she would not break their rules again. Aro signaled for the guard to let her go. Aro kept his attention on the girl for a few moments longer. Even if Eleazar threaten to leave again he would not tolerate this to happen. She would not be known to break the rules if Eleazar spoke up against this if she did break the rules again he would have them both destroyed. He would be partly at fault the was the one who insisted on letting her go the first time. Perhaps if she did this again Eleazar would agree with Aro but it didn't appear he would change his mind on this right now.
Aro turned his eyes to Eleazar. He was displeased with his actions. As long as he stayed with the Volturi Aro would let this girl go. Otherwise she would be destroyed and she would if she broke the rules again regardless if Eleazar threaten to leave. He may be destroyed along side her if this was to happen again. "She is free to go as you have requested. You will remain with the Volturi. You are far to vaulable to leave us." Aro would not allow him to leave. Aro's eyes went back to Chelsea once more he was very disappointed with her. Her talent was not working on Eleazar at all it was very upsetting. This girl, this vampire seemed to have drawn Eleazar and he knew not even Chelsea's talent could ever bring him back. Aro understood this attraction this feeling for another quiet well, but it did not interfere with his need for power. Nothing could ever be in way for Aro's power not even his wife. He craved power more than anything else and there was nothing that he would not give up to keep or gain more power.

Carmen was frozen in shock when Aro told her how rarely he gave second chances, she stopped all movement, breathing, blinking... Did that mean... Was she... She was going to live -- well as much as a vampire could. When the two men who had been holding her so agressively finally let her go, her breathing started again. She shook her head a little. "I swear... Never again." She was too scared to even be anywhere near any humans right now. She quickly got up to her feet and held her hands up together to her chest.
Cam was overhelmed. If she could cry, she would. She looked over toward Eleazar and smiled lightly. "Thank you," She whispered. If she did not think it would be appropreate to go up to him and hug him or even peck him on the cheek, but she wish she could have. Carm thanked them once more and turned to head off deep into the forest, avoiding the towns at all costs. (perhaps later we could skip ahead to the part where Elz does leave to find her. Later on, though.)

Eleazar watched Aro, he seemed to be thinking about this intently. It showed a good leader when he took the time to think through all his choices before responding. When Aro finally did respond, Eleazar felt so alarmingly relieved that he smiled boldly at the girl. As the guards let her loose she promised not to make trouble again and Eleazar prayed that she was telling the truth and wasn't just saying this because of how scared she obviously was at this moment. Aro said that he would watch her. There was no doubt in Eleazar's mind that if this girl messed up again she not only put her own life on the line, but his as well. He didn;t care about that now however. He was too thrilled that the woman he had seemed to fall in love with at first sight was going to live to see another day, month, year. If she kept her promise to behave herself Eleazar would never see her again. He hoped beyond hope that he wouldn't see that beautiful face ever again. For if he did it was because she had upset the Volturi once again and they were both dead. "Yes sir." Eleazar responded as Aro told him that he would remain with the Volturi, commanded that he stay. Eleazar would stay, as long he he stayed his love would be alive and well. When her lovely eyes rested on him, as she looked at him and smiled and thanked him. All he wanted to do was wrap her slight form in his arms and hold her for the rest of his existence. This would not be allowed however, and regretfully Eleazar could only nod to the girl, half holding out his hand as if he would take hers into his. As if he would pull her into a hug. "You are welcome." He responded as she ran, far away lost into the woods. Eleazar watched until he could no longer see her any longer and then made his face a blank mystery once more. He was a member of the Volturi, and he had a job to do.
