It was just nearing late evening, and Jasper was out with his wife. Not once did not not enjoy Alice's company, and today was no exception to that consistency. It was not often that he ventured around Forks without a purpose, but it was dark, and therefore no sign of any sun . . . so they were safe. Jasper did not even feel the overwhelming need to hunt. They had just been out for a walk. A nice . . . quiet . . . peaceful stroll around the small town.
He held Alice's hand in his . . . feeling the need to spend as much time -- more than usual -- with her ever since his highly unexpected encounter with Maria. Once they had parted ways, he hoped she would have taken his demand seriously and just left Forks. What could she possibly do over here? Was she bitter enough at his departure to make his life miserable once again? He was trying not to think about it . . . not wanting it to ruin his mood today.
"Was there anywhere specific you wanted to go Alice?" He asked her. They had just been walking aimlessly . . . and Jasper had no complaints about that, but he still wanted to ask her if she had a particular destination of interest.
