It was a couple days after Renesmee was born, he was going to tell Sam and the others that he was done with the pack....that he had no other choice. He'd imprinted on Renesmee and felt close to her, he felt a love for her that he had never felt for anyone before. And yes, it was rather dangerous. The Volturi he knew would be coming at any given rate, and so he needed to stick by the Cullens closely to monitor the situation so that Renesmee would not be harmed. Bella was watching over Renesmee while he went to go make this as easy as possible. He would be leaving Sam's pack one way or another. He knew exactly what Sam would say and he knew exactly how Sam would feel, betrayed. He didn't imagine it happening any other way. He knew he would be considered crazy by most.
The wolves, were more his home than anything he'd ever known, and it killed him to have to make this kind of a choice but when the one......you desire most in this world was in danger of being hurt or killed, you have to take a stab at it, to save them. He wondered if Emily would be understanding or if it was just not going to happen. He knew that Emily loved them all like they were family but this, this was a betrayal far worse than anything else he had put the pack through. Saying goodbye was never easy, but it was something that he had to do in order to save them all. He couldn't be with the Pack the way he once was, if he was going to put all his energy into saving Renesmee and the Cullens, who were all vampires in one way or another.
He had asked Emily to meet him at First Beach because he found that doing it at the house, well Sam would lose it as would the others and doing it in a Public place would keep them all from phasing and wanting to seriously hurt him. They could do that later in a private area, not out there in Public. He only felt the need to question his desire to leave the pack, nothing more. It cut him open more than he ever could realize.

Emily had been so excited when Jake had called her, she hadn't seen him in awhile and she wanted him to try her new cookie recipe.
She arrived at First Beach filled with energy she recieved from the sun light. It wasn't sunny often here and Emily savored every sun beam.
She grabbed her bag, which was full to bursting with baked goods and peeling off her shoes stepped into the sand.
She saw Jake waiting and had to stop herself from running to him. The sunlight and fresh air made her giddy and childlike.
"Hello Jake, you look well." Emily said as she approached him, "I've missed you." She added

"Hello, Emily." He stopped cold, he didn't know if he could tell her. But he knew that he must. But he was so excited to see her, and to see her happy and healthy, made him happy. But by the same token, he knew that Sam would forbid him to see Emily or the old pack once he declared his decision once and for all. Looking at Emily he walked toward her. She smelled good, like she'd been in the kitchen cooking and as a young, or somewhat young wolf, he was interested in what she'd been baking.
"You've been cooking again haven't you?" He teased as he looked at her. He knew it was too dangerous to go to Sam and Emily's house, which is why he asked to meet Emily there at First Beach, in a public place, he knew that Emily would not go hard on him the way that Sam would, which was exactly why he was having to be extremely careful. "Emily, um there is something I need to talk to you about. You know....you've been a tremendous help to me when I first became a wolf, when I first joined Sam's pack and I'll forever be grateful for you, for what you did for me." He didn't know if he could finish what it is he had wanted to say, as by looking into her eyes, he could sense she would not be happy with what he had to say. They had never been extremely close, but Emily was too much like family to really hurt her, and it devestated him to have to say what he had to tell her. He was scared that she may hate him for it.

Emily, who was such a baby when it came to emotional moments, felt her eyes began to fill with tears.
"Jake you don't owe me anything, I did that because your family and I love you." Emily said
She sighed, "What do you need? I'm always here for you no matter what." Emily gave him a small smile

He took a deep breath. "The war...is about to start, and I have to join it." Smirking a second he looked at her. He knew that nothing was going to go over well. He then just knew he had to tell her instantly. "I've imprinted on Renesmee, as you know a half vampire half human...well there are these vampires coming down from Italy....planning to kill her...and because I've imprinted I can't very well leave her for too long. So...I've had to make a choice. Sam already knows what I've decided."
He said as he took a deep breath. "I've left Sam, Emily. Do you have any idea what that means?" He had done what he had set out to do, but of course now he was having second thoughts, but knew it was too late to go back and start it all over again. He was now an Alpha, now he just needed to find people to join his pack and knew there were two willing to join him, Seth and Leah Clearwater. Of course, he had to be very sneaky about what he was doing. He had to be extremely careful this time around. He knew what he was going to do next.

Emily felt like she was going to fall down. Her legs were not going to hold her any longer.
She sat back onto a rock and looked up at Jacob.
"Bella's daughter Nessie." She whispered
Emily felt an overwhelming sense of anger fill her. Sam had deliberately refused to tell her what was going on with Jacob when she had asked about him.
She had worried and fretted and Sam had lied and said he knew nothing. That hurt her deeply.
"Your an Alpha wolf." Emily choked out, afraid for him.
"I don't understand it, who could ever hurt her, shes just a baby." Emily knew there were people out there who hurt children all the time she wasn't delusional, she was disgusted.
"Jake, oh God." Emily fought to control herself
"I know what this means. Your going to fight for Nessie and I understand that, only a fool would not. Sam won't help you because he is too angry that you've left him and started another pack. Please you must understand, Sam's been phasing for a long time, he sometimes thinks like a wolf. Any wolf would be upset by this, he will consider it a betrayal. I do not feel the same way. I understand, I really do. If i could do anything to help Bella and Nessie I would but I cannot." Emily took a deep breath and wrapped her arms around herself in an embrace
"Just please be careful Jake. Please." She begged

"I have given him a choice, long before I made my final decision. He refused to see it. Too angry with me for having fallen for Renesmee. I can't choose who I love, Emily. You know this. I am not scared for what I know to happen, actually will. It's been years....since I felt as good as I do now. Not because I've had to betray what I know, but because for now, I've finally got my life back in order...as easily as it is naturally. You and I both know that this is something that should've happened probably a long time ago. I wasn't destined to fight the vampires, but I choose to. The Volturi are not what you expect. Honestly, I don't like the idea of fighting them but I can't let them kill Renesmee who has done nothing wrong, other than by their idea that a child of her nature, half human and half vampire should not exist. I want to be with her, as hard as that is for everyone to understand, it doesn't change how I feel. I need your approval on this. Because I know how Sam feels, and I know you have to stand by him. I'm not asking for anything on this, Emily, really I'm not. I just want to know I have your support even though I know by doing all this, and having broken the old pack, that I've disgraced Sam and betrayed him all for the sake of love." He said honestly as he looked into Emily's eyes and walked over to her softly.
He reached out and hugged her softly. She had always been like a mother, even though she wasn't a wolf....like Sam had been. But he'd seen the scars and knew that everything she did, she did for love, even by choosing to stay beside Sam throughout it all. "I'm only doing this because of what I feel, love, love not only for my pack, and even still for the old pack but for Renesmee, Bella...and of course to protect those that can't or don't have the capacity to defend themselves against such a danger....as we must now face." He told Emily, it was as honest as he could have gotten with her. It was now or never, and he knew what the costs would end up being.

Emily hugged Jake back praying that this wouldn't be the last time she'd be able to hug him.
"All I've heard about this Volturi I don't like. Nessie is a wonderful thing! A child for Bella, a love for you. I do not side with Sam on this one Jake when it comes to her I do not feel the same way he does. Hating a child, one who someone you adore is in love with is ridiculous. Protect her, the girl you love and know that no matter what happens I will always be there for you. Sam may think he knows best. He may think that he can control me in order to keep me safe. He cannot keep me from the people I love. He cannot stop me from helping you. If it causes discord between Sam and I- I do not care. I cannot let him chose what I believe. Jake you have my support, I will do all I can to help you and the Cullen's. Little Nessie should not to deal with this." Emily frowned she had an extreme love for children and the fact that Nessie was in danger made her insides hurt.

"Now do you see why I formed my own pack, Sue thought it was irresponsible, which in alot of ways it is, but I will not stand by and watch as innocent people get hurt. Nessie has not done anything other than existing for someone to hate her. And now, now they're sending the Volturi straight for her and the Cullens, now you and I both know I do not share a likeness for some vampires, but the Cullens, the worst they've done is called me a dog but I promised them that I will stand by Renesmee and that is the only thing I could. I thought, coming here, that I would at least be able to get Seth and Leah and a few others that I could rally around to try and save her. We need eye witnesses that Nessie is not going to harm anyone, that she means no harm and that she isn't immortal, the Cullens and I are working together on this, but I also need help from my own pack...from those I love here, in La Push, because the rest of those I love are in Forks." He said in all seriousness as he wondered what would happen next. "I'll have to get back to Renesmee soon, but I thought I should come here, and warn you, and try to see if you can help. Maybe convince a few of the old pack just to at least watch out, 'cause this threat of the Volturi, it won't just try and wipe out the Cullens it'll try and wipe us all out, or at least attempt to."

Emily felt helpless again and it made her sick. She wasn't stupid enough to suggest she talk to the volturi about Nessie's inability to hurt others, she would just be a liability.
"I don't think forming your own pack was irresponsible Jacob. I of all people understand the intensity of love." Her hand automatically began to trace the scars that ran down her face.
"I'll make sure they help. Paul and Jared may be upset but they are not stupid, it's too dangerous to be stupid." Emily frowned
"Keep her safe Jake." Emily said, she met his eyes and tried to hide how worried she was.

"The witnesses, the Cullens and I have decided to rally the old Covens the ones that know for sure aren't a threat to us, and that they, would confirm that Nessie is by no means, an immortal child. She's half human for crying out loud and humans....unfortunately do not live forever." He nodded to Emily when she told him to protect Nessie at all cost. It was dangerous for him to even leave Nessie's side right now but when it came to protecting her, he'd do whatever it took, rally all the troups, vampires and wolves alike. The Volturi were a threat, one that would have to be dealt with, especially if they planned on coming after an innocent child.
"I left Renesmee in the care of her father and mother, and those two, if anything else, will protect her to no end, because what choice do any of us have? I know that it's crazy, me being with the vampires, and all, but it's not really a matter to me, at least, what species someone is, when you really love someone, all that seems to fade away, and only the person you fell in love with is there, not the species, but the real person. Does that make any sense? You're with Sam, you should know, even with as dangerous as it is for someone to be with someone like me, a wolf, you still found it in you, to be with Sam, even though we both know it hasn't been easy. Renesmee and I, we're meant to be together and I'll allow nobody, not her parents, not anyone, to stop us." He told Emily and gave her a hug before letting go, he knew that he had to really be careful when it came to Emily since she may be a wolf's imprintee, but that made her even more vulnerable since she was still human.

"I get that I do. I accepted Bella, to be honest I have nothing against any of the Cullen's." Emily replied
"I don't think your going to have any trouble with the vampires Jake. You've always been strong enough to handle them." Emily whispered
When Jake hugged her she hugged back tightly.
"things will be alright." Emily insisted, "When this is all over you bring Nessie around ok?" She smiled and clasped his arm for a moment.
"Give some cookies to Leah and Seth too." She added
