------ ---Rosalie walked over to her brother, dressed in her rose colored gown. "Jasper? Want to dance with me?" She asked him with a smile. She had not danced with Jasper all night. Of course, it came out like a question but what Rose meant was 'it's time, don't ruin this.' Rosalie had been dancing with everyone she could find tonight, making sure everyone had the chance to look at her. This was her favorite game. The showing off one.

Jasper turned when he saw his sister approach him, and felt a little embarressed that he had not been the one to ask her to dance. He smiled and offered his hand. "Of course." Every time he saw her, she was dancing with someone else. Rosalie's dream were events like this . . . for her beauty attacted everything, human or vampire. It was something she took great pride in and so when occasions such as these arose, she was ecstatic.
As they made their way to the ballroom floor, he kept one of her hands in his and placed the other on her lower back. "You look beautiful tonight Rosalie." Flattery was the best way to get on her good side . . . not that he was on her bad side. He just knew it would make her happy.

[arose, new pun!]
---Rosalie smiled brightly putting her hands in their proper place and let Jasper lead her around the floor, "Thank you Jasper. You look very dashing in that, your self." She was in a good mood and he had only made it better with the compliment. She never grew tired of hearing it. "Have you enjoyed the evening? I saw you in the corner with Emmett a moment ago." Not litterly in the corner but they have been talking as if no one else was around.

He knew she felt wonderful in this moment . . . he could feel it. Her bitter, jealous feelings were all pushed aside due to the multiple compliments he was certain she was recieving from others, apart from her family. It was a refreshing feeling for Jasper to sense this emotion from her. "I am. Emmett and I were discussing our fortune for having married such wonderful women," he told her, stll smiling. "He seems to be having a . . . better time than expected here." He thought Emmett would be miserable, but he appeared to be doing better than Jasper gave given him credit for. "Have you been enjoying yourself as well?"
[haha, we should keep track of them somewhere. Congratulations on getting to 200 posts Rose!]

------ ---When Jasper spoke of Emmett admitting he was lucky to have married her Rosalie's emotions went higher. She loved hearing that. Emmett was one of the best things about this life. THE best thing. With out him the feelings Jasper hated so much would be stronger in her.
---"I am having a wonderful time. I love it here." Which she did. Rosalie could stay here forever, however she wouldn't leave the Cullens, and Emmett would want to bet with Jasper everyday. Still, it was wonderful here.

Jasper was not at all surprised to hear that. "It will be regrettable when such an event comes to an end." He was not sure how long it would last; most probably all night -- with the ocassional hunting break -- but he doubted everyone would leave at once to hunt. There would always be vampires dancing on the ballroom floor. "Your husband also seems to be taking it considerably well that you have him dressed in a tuxedo," he said smiling, quickly glancing at Emmett, before turning his attention back on Rosalie.

------ ---"Not for you," Rosalie said knowing Jasper and Emmett weren't as into balls and parties as the Girl Cullens were. "At lest there is no humans around." She said knowing how he was still fighting for control. He hated that it had been so simple for Bella. Simple might be the wrong word, but it had not been the fight Jasper put up. Then again, Bella didn't spend a 100 years killing and eating either. "Emmett is being a very good sport tonight." She thought about ripping the suit off him later. Alice would be appalled at whatever was left.

Jasper gave a smile at her comment. "I do not mind it too much. I enjoy seeing Alice this excited to be at such a ball, and her happiness it more than worth dressing in a tuxedo and spending the evening dancing and socializing." That was all Jasper cared about . . . as long as his wife was happy, so was he. Every time he saw her smile, or laugh, he too was filled with joy -- and not only because her emotions influenced his own, but because anyone would want to make the one they loved truly happy. "That is very true. The lack of humans makes tonight all the more relaxing and enjoyable." Jasper did not have to worry about restraining himself . . . he could just be himself -- sort of.
"He most certainly is. I am impressed with his minimal complaints and his maintained optimistic attitude." Poor Emmett. Jasper really did feel bad for him, but at the same time, he knew he would do anything to make Rosalie happy . . . why else would he agree to go through dozens of weddings.

---Rosalie loved talking about Emmett. It was one of her top three favorite topics. Right under herself and herself and Emmett. "I was thinking of thanking him for being so nice about tonight by offering to make our return trip home cross some untamed lane where you and he could hunt things seven times your size and bet the hell out of each other." She teased.
---"Any ideas as to where us girls should take you boys Jasper?" She wondered what he would want to hunt. Something smart. Elephants were smart but slow. Tigers? Or was that more Edward?

Jasper chuckled, but the idea was intriguing. "That sounds like fun Rosalie. We will have to find a way to gain our masculinity back, considering the amount we dressed up and danced tonight," he joked. Jasper did not really mind. He was just amused with the thought of it. Though, wrestling animals with Emmett, and beating him of course, was a thought that would forever be tempting to Jasper. "A place where we can engage in said activities and not worry if our tuxedo’s become ripped and dirty," he said, still smiling. "Perhaps there is a small farm in the outskirts of town. There may be some stray animals there." He would not want to cause great attention by focusing on only one farm . . . and it was not as if they could ask anyone here where a good place to hunt was since the Volturi did not eat animals.

---"That is not quite what I meant Jasper," Rose replied mistaking his train of thought for the plan rather then her plan. "I was thinking for of Emmett's idea of fighting that snake. When we were going to the amazon. I think he was rather miffed you got to go and he did not. He was looking forward to that. Perhaps we can go on the way home."

Jasper smiled. "You would really be willing to go there?" It did not seem like a very . . . Rosalie place. Then again, she did say that it was a reward for their minimal complaints tonight. "I am sure Alice will also like that idea. She became rather font of the place and vampire residing there." Jasper would not mind going or not going . . . but going would certainly be something to look forward to. He did not want to ask when this ball would be over thought, not wanting to appear too impatient.

---Jasper could TRY to appear calm but in this instance, Rosalie knew better. While she had no gifts of her own, she could tell he was ready to leave. . . Not that she was going to leave any time soon. "It sounds like a plan." She smiled, "We can invite Carlisle and Esme as well. I think it would be fun to show Renesmee how you two can go from perfect gentleman to cave men in less then a few hours." She teased.

Jasper continued to smile as she teased the way him and Emmett could so easily transform. "Perhaps Renesmee is too young and innocent to see the true colors of her uncles," he joked. They never showed any aggression around her, even if it were just for fun. He did not want to risk hurting her, since she was a bit more delicate than they were. "I am not quite sure she is ready for that yet," he added, continuing to joke at the thought. "Though, it seems she will to be in less stressful circumstances after tonight, so perhaps that is a good idea after all." Since she was harassed by both Maria, and Aro, Jasper wondered if she would perhaps feel better if the evening ended on a lighter note.

---Rosalie's mood changed rapidly. "Yes, Renesmee did show me what happened between Aro and your little ex-bitch." While Rosalie might not truly blame Jasper for his past, it did seem to come back to haunt him allot. Rosalie wanted to kill Maria for the Renesmee events. She wanted to protect her family, that meant Jasper as well. His past would come back allot less if Maria was out of this world.
---"Perhaps you and Emmett should hunt another kind of snake," Rosalie hinted, "The type that tends to do more annoying then silent slithering."

Jasper felt the sudden mood swing and knew exactly what had caused it. Though the entire family was protective over Renesmee, Rose had been protective of the child ever since she was in Bella's womb. She displayed extra, more intense feelings of protectiveness for Renesmee, so Jasper knew that Rose would not be happy over the fact that her niece had spent a considerable amount of time conversing with Maria. "I apologize for that conversation." It was after all partly his fault. Had Jasper not had a past with Maria, she would have not expressed any interest in Renesmee. "I attempted to end it as abruptly as it had began," he explained, wanting Rosalie to know that he too was uncomfortable with the two of them chatting.
"Was Renesmee deeply upset or disturbed by her meeting with Maria?" He had to ask since his niece had said nothing to him . . . then again, he had not had the chance to talk to her about it. Perhaps later he would explain it to her.

---"She was upset, yes, who wouldn't be. That little monster has a way of leaving more then slime on everything she even thinks about." Rosalie said in disgust. She was not a Maria fan. She had heard a few people speak of her tonight, and even if they hated her they had some sort of emotion behind there voice. Some was fear, some was envy, some lust, some even respect. Rosalie held only hatred. "Sometimes I think it would be better if the Volturi just got rid of her." But if they knew Maria's past, they would know Jasper's and Rosalie did NOT want that.

Jasper felt guilty. He had not wanted Renesmee to find out about Maria that way . . . he had never wanted her to meet that vampire. "It is the way she is. I did not expect her to be here tonight, which was a huge mistake on my part." He should have kept her in mind. "She seems to appear when one least expects it." That was Maria alright. Never needed a reason to cause someone discomfort, apart from pure pleasure.
"It will not be that simple." He kept his voice very low. "She is cautious, and clever when it comes to deterring attention from herself in situations where the Volturi could eliminate her for her actions." Jasper could not say anything to them, though at times . . . he often wondered if his death would be worth saving those humans and other vampires from Maria's future wrath. It was a thought, that he had not yet acted on . . . but still, it often crossed his mind.

---Rosalie looked up at Jasper as they danced. "Perhaps you and Emmett should do the deed." She said, her voice low. "Surely if the Cullens work together, one vampire will not stand a chance." How much trouble trouble could one little nothing make? If they surprised her and came at here here. Tonight, just after Maria left here. They could rid them selves of her for good. No more wondering when the Volturi would kill her, or come for Jasper. No more having to deal with her in their lives.

Was Rosalie really suggesting that they kill Maria? "Rosalie, we are not killing Maria." He enunciated every single word, and his voice was stern. He also kept the volume of his voice low, so that no one else would hear this. It had an authoritative tone as well, as he was not about to change his mind on the matter. As much of a nuisance as Maria was, he did not plan on killing her any time soon.

---Rosalie's eyes went to Jasper's in a slow highly annoyed, and so shocked way. Then they turned into a glare. "Oh really?" She asked, letting her words come out in a slow hiss. "What would be stopping us?" She asked, trying to understand why Jasper would want his ex-lover keep alive and annoying (if not kicking). He better have one hale of a good reason!

He could feel Rosalie's agitation and annoyance on the matter of destroying Maria. He was not sure how to explain it in such a way that she would fully understand. He decided to make it a more general decision rather than one he had come up with on his own. "Carlisle would never approve. He does not like to use violence to resolve situations. He would never agree to this."

---"You might be underestimating him, Jasper. Maria is plotting our family's down fall and all but attacked his grandchild." She said in a low almost hiss of a voice. "Maria is not going to back down, she had proven this. We are going to have to take matters into our own hands or she is going to get one of us killed."

"We are not killing Maria, Rosalie. And that is the final say on the matter. She does not have an issue with anyone in the family, apart from me. And she knows better than to attempt to destroy us." Jasper knew that while she wanted revenge, she was also not reckless when it came to her plan of attack. "If and when the time comes, I will deal with her accordingly. No one else need concern themselves with it." He knew that it was difficult for the to do that, especially when she kept harassing members of their family . . . but Jasper would do what he could to put an end to that. He would not allow anyone else to put them selves in danger over her; he would handle the situation.
