---Rosalie walked as silently as she could to the garage door. She stopped there and looked at Edward. She knew she had to speak with him, alone, and knew this would not be easy. When she heard him in the garage, she took it as a sign.
---Rosalie was not big on signs from above however, she had admitted before, that while Edward was who she was lest closest to, the one time she felt in sync with him was when they both were working in the garage. It was rare they agreed on to much, however working in the garage, even if it was silent, it was her fondest memories of Edward.
---Rosalie did not speak as she stood there, waiting to see how mad he still was. She had almost gotten him killed in a way. She had not known he would react that way. She only wanted him to come home, and she almost ruined everything. If Edward had been less dramatic then this wouldn't have happ--No, she was not going to blame him.

Edward was on his back under his Aston Martin preparing for an oil change. He heard Rosalie when she entered but it was more her jumbled thoughts rather than her near silent footsteps. Of course with his advanced hearing he heard those too. He stilled in his work for a moment as he listened to her thoughts still not really ready to talk to her but knowing the moment would be unaviodable for much longer. He sighed when she got to the point of stopping herself from blaming him. He sighed slightly.
"You want me to respond to your thoughts Rosalie or are you going to get around to talking to me sooner or later." He remarked not coming out from underneath his car. His tone still had some of the annoyment in it that he was trying to hide.

---Rosalie did her very best to block any annoyed thoughts at him in her head. She barley did it. Just barley. "I plan to speak to you." She sound annoyed then sighed and walked quickly over to where he was. "Edward, I am sorry!" She blurted out trying to stay unemotional but she was still worried.
---She thought back to her fear at Jasper's reaction. When his arm was shaking because he was mad at her. Then to Alice's annoyed and angry voice. Then last to Edward's angry when he got off the plane.

"Edward, I am sorry!"
Edward sighed again and shook his head. Rosalie's thoughts entered his own mind unbidden and saw everyones reactions through her eyes and her own interpretation of those actions.
He closed his eyes briefly as the final thought was his own reaction as he got off the airplane. He pushed himself out from under the car and looked up into Rosalie's perfect features while still lying flat on his back. "That anger was not directed at you Rosalie."
He sat up his arms going over his slightly raised knees as he looked at his dirty grease covered hands. "Had I wish you had gotten your facts straight first. Of course I do. I do not blame you for my own stupidity though. Heck I blame the dog more for not letting Bella answer the phone."

---Rosalie had the urge to toss her self at him and hug him. Still she did not believe him when he said that he was not angry with her. How could he not be? She had caused him to react like this, she had told him Bella was dead when she was not. Aside from that everyone knew Bella was not Rosalie's favorite human. Rosalie had rarely been passably nice to Bella, the human Edward apparently loved more then his own life.
---Rosalie had not seen that. She had not understood how he felt. Still, even knowing that, Rosalie did not want Bella to join them. She would not wish this life on anyone.
---"You seemed very angry with me. I do not blame you. I trusted Alice's visions, and I did not wait to learn more. I want to explain my actions, and make this go away. I need this to be ok." She needed to explain things and for him to tell her she was forgiven so she would not feel guilty. Which she did.

Edwards lips twitched slightly as Rosalie still continued her thought of regret. He decided to just let her continue as knowing her stubborness she would not be happy until she had gotten everything out in the open.
"You seemed very angry with me. I do not blame you. I trusted Alice's visions, and I did not wait to learn more. I want to explain my actions, and make this go away. I need this to be ok."
"Explain away the Sis, if it will make you feel better." Edward commented humour slipping into his tone. He really should take this all seriously, however when you could read someone's thoughts you generally got to the truth relatively quickly. She wanted forgiveness and when she was ready he probably would give her that. Course she needed to understand his point of view as well, he would have to explain that to her since she did not have his advantage "So long as let me explain myself afterward."

---Rosalie heard the humor and wondered if he was enjoying seeing her like this. She watched his face for a moment wondering if she should get angry or if she had earned this. After a moment, she decided that Edward had never made complete since, and if he was going to laugh at her it was better then yelling at her. For the moment.
---"I can explain my self. Can you stand up, and talk to me while we talk on the same level? Or I can help you work." She offered, trying to be helpful. She wondered why he was not with Bella right now. Rosalie had assumed that they would be attached at the hip.

"She's grounded." Edward remarked to the unasked question about Bella. "Thought I would actually give Charlie a break for a change." He smiled. "I'll be going round later of course."
He chuckled and then moved out the way knowing Rosalie felt slightly more comfortable talking and getting to the heart of the matter when she was working. "I was just giving the vanquish an oil change. Its been a while. You can help if you want. You'd probably do it quicker than me anyway."

---"I could." Rosalie did not see it as bragging, just starting a fact. She was better at cars then Edward. She went over and got a mat and crawled under the car, hoping he would join her under it, so she could talk and still see his face while working.
---Rosalie looked up to see what he had done and noticed a few other things she could offer to help on. Rosalie knew she should start explaining her self but was unsure of the words that would best explain her feelings behind her actions.
---To help him understand she thought back to the times Edward and her worked in the garage together, and were at peace. Then thought over Esme's sad face when he left, Emmett's moping and Alice's missing him. "You know I would never want to hurt you Edward. I honestly thought, of you knew you did not have to stay away from Bella anymore, you would come home. We could be a family again."

Edward followed Rosalie under the car and watched as she worked. He saw the extra things the car needed as she did, course he was cheating. Rosalie had already put so much work into this car, guess she had a little more to go.
"You know I would never want to hurt you Edward. I honestly thought, of you knew you did not have to stay away from Bella anymore, you would come home. We could be a family again."
It was strange really to see how much of a family person Rosalie was. How much of a family person she wanted to be. What she felt she truly was robbed of. Maybe he had been slightly selfish in that regard. However as he had told Bella, a world without her in it was not worth living in. He glanced sideways at his sister as they started working together. "I know Rosalie. I also know that when you told me Bella had died you really believed she had died. But let me ask you this. If Emmett was taken out of this world tomorrow what would you do?"

---Rosalie thought for a moment. "That is hard to answer, Emmett is so much stronger then me. I can not see anything happening to him." In other words, Rosalie was so sure about Emmett and his strength, she would not imagine what Edward was talking about. "I would image that I would be lost. I do not know if I would travel so far to ask someone to kill me." Rosalie was a bit more self absorbed when Edward was. She would not live a happy life, but she was live a life.
---"I did not see that you loved Bella that way. I knew you felt strongly for her but...." Rosalie sighed, "She was human and..." Not Rosalie. Edward had not been impressed by her as everyone had been. She had assumed he was not capable of loving that way until a plain human girl came along. "I just assumed your family would be enough. That you would come home, be sad for a while but move on and be happy with us again."

It appeared that it still hurt Rosalie's ego that Edward had not swooned over her like every other male had. Unfortunately that was not something Edward could help, nor did he feel like propping up her ego any more. He gave her a pointed look with out saying anything as that line of thought did not help her case.
"I just assumed your family would be enough. That you would come home, be sad for a while but move on and be happy with us again."
Edward smiled sadly at his sister. "See the thing is, I did not know what happiness was until I met Bella. Her happiness, her life means the world to me. And know I'm going to be forced to take it away from here."
Anger once again clouded his eyes and the spanner that he reached for suddenly twisted and had a hand imprinted in its mangled handle. He cursed slightly and threw the ruined tool to the side. He slid out from under the car and tried to calm himself down.

---Rosalie glared at the damaged tool, and then followed Edward from under the car. She just sat on the ground and was silent for a moment thinking of how best to reply with out sounding bossy, or hurtful. "So I was right, Your family is not enough anymore. You'd leave us for her." It was not a question.
---Rosalie did not like that answer. She wouldn't tell him so, but she knew he would know. "I just wanted everyone to be happy. Esme was sad, Emmett was moping and Alice was the worse. Which made Jasper about as bad. You were not even going to tell us goodbye. You just left." Rosalie thought back to her fear of thinking Edward was dead. She might not be very close to her brother but she loved him still in her own way. It would break her heart if he died.

Edward moved away from her, his frustration growing again. Sometimes she was so self centred. He had just confessed something to her that was completely bothering him and what does she do but turn it back onto herself. He gave a depreciative smile. "Well apparently you could get over Emmett, Rosalie. I'm sure you'd get over me."
He wished it were that simple with Bella. If he could just get over this hold she seemed to have over him. Well he had tried and it had not worked. So that just left him one option. Be with her for as long as she wanted him around and hope that one day she would come to her senses and see the danger that he was. Of course now the Volturi were involved and Aro seemed overly interested in Bella. It was not a good situation. What ever anger he might have felt toward Rosalie now faded in comparison to the fear he felt for the holder of his heart.
"Besides somehow I think the others would be a bit more understanding of my choice."

---"That is not what I meant, Edward!" Rosalie ground out, "Emmett is not Bella. If he jumped off a cliff I would worry more for the ground then him!" She took a short deep breath then sighed it out, "I didn't come here to fight with you! I wanted a chance to explain why I did what I did so we could move past this!"
---"The other would be understanding?!" Rosalie was part upset and part angry. "Edward, we sat in your unboxed room, while Esme cried and cling to Carlisle, Jasper ignored almost everyone but Esme, and everyone nearly panicked! Understanding?" Rosalie thought back to how it felt, "Maybe they were aware of why you were doing it, but not one person would approve, or relate to it."

Edward growled. "Fine I'm a selfish person. I get that and I'm sure you won't let me forget it. Don't think I won't do the same again should it come down to it."
This was going all wrong. Here he and Rosalie were meant to be making amends and all they seemed to be doing is making each other more frustrated and angrier. Edward sighed trying to regain some control over his emotions.
"Sometimes I wish you had my ability Rose. So you could see exactly how I see Bella." He tried to make his voice calm he did not know if he was successful. "I'm sorry that it makes you jealous. That I prefer a 'human' more than you. But she is part of my life now. She is my life, Rose. You are somehow going to have to learn to accept it."

---"I didn't do this because I was jealous of you Edward!" Rosalie snapped back. When Alice had jumped on a plane after she saw Bella jump Rosalie had been jealous of Alice's concern for Bella but that had not controlled her actions. She had wanted Edward home and for things to go back how it had been, before Forks.
---"Next time, I will just stay out of it and keep you out of the know. I had assumed you would like my honestly better then their keeping that from you." Rosalie hoped there was no next time. This was one of the worse weeks of her very long life. Standing up, Rosalie moved over to her tool chest but just looked at it, she didn't want to fight with Edward this time. She wanted things to go back to how they were but wasn't sure what to say or do to make it happen.

"There's not going to be a next time Rose." A look of anguish crossed Edwards face as he leant against the bench in the garage. "In a short period of time Bella's either going to be dead or one of us," Edward did not look happy with either of those options. "The Volturi have seen to that now."
Shaking his head he moved next to Rosalie. "Things are never going to be exactly as they were again Rose." He nudged her slightly with his shoulder and gave a small smile. "We can try and make them better though. I promise I'll try not to do anything stupid. Well at least for a week or so anyway."

---When he spoke about things never being the same her shoulders squared and she thought the worse, however he then spoke of trying to make things better. Rosalie felt him bump her and smiled, turning into her brother and hugged him. "No more trips to Italy, Edward." She warned in a playful but real tone. "I am very sorry for meddling." She told him.
---Looking up at him, "I will be nicer to Bella as well." In her mind, she was thinking of how Bella both made Edward happy and sad at the same time. She hoped for more of the first and less of the later, "I still do not think Bella should join us." But not because she did not like Bella. Rosalie would give up everything, to be human.

Edward held up his hand as if making a promise. "No more trips to Italy."
"I am very sorry for meddling." She told him.
Edward wrapped his hand around her shoulders and gave her a peck on the forhead in a brotherly gesture suggesting all was forgiven.
"I will be nicer to Bella as well."
Edward knew she would try any way. She was happy Bella made him happy. She wasn't happy Bella drove him mad.
"I still do not think Bella should join us."
"Well there sister dear we are in complete agreement. I plan on keeping her human as long as possible. Maybe you could help me with that."

---"Help you?" Rosalie perked up. Not from the idea of keeping Bella out of the family. At this one, Rosalie rather Bella be around then Edward go all crazy again and try to commit vampire suicide. Besides, Emmett found Bella so funny, Alice seemed to love her and Esme, (who was what one would call Rosalie's best friend), called Bella a daughter.
---Rosalie perked up with the idea that Edward was so not-mad at her that he would even ask for her help. He still had not explained what he meant when he said he had not been made at her at the airport. Rosalie still doubted that he had not been mad at her then. How could he not be? "Help you how?" As much as Rosalie wanted to help, if she meddled and Alice got involved again, Jasper might kill her. Even if she hide behind Emmett, again.

Edward sighed and scratched the back of his head. It was not something he really needed to do but imitating humans for so long some traits sort of rubbed off. Besides since he had met Bella he seemed to be having more and more human tendancies. He glanced at Rosalie trying to figure things out.
"Truth is Rose, I'm not quite sure yet. I haven't told her your full story, you are the one who understands most about the need to stay human. Maybe you could talk to her. Explain things to her. Make her understand exactly what she will be giving up. I love her. More than I thought possible. I don't want to take her life and options away."

There had been a time, when Rosalie had volunteered to be the one to kill her to keep the Cullen's from being exposed. Now Rosalie did not mind that Bella knew, or came around. However she did not want Bella to join them, in this frozen half life. Were you could only pretend. "I do not know if she will accept what I have to say, or if she will think I am just trying to keep her away from you."
