As they entered the main doors, following the guard, Carlisle, reached over and hook Esme by the hand, giving her a reassuring squeeze. The build, he knew, could be over whelming when you first see it, however he did not know how she was feeling, he only wanted to make sure, she knew he was here if she should need him.
He was taken his knew wife to meet his old friend. Carlisle wanted Edward to join then but Edward had left home, trying out the other life of vampires. Carlisle did not approve but, could not find it in his heart to stop wishing Edward would come home, no matter what his feeding style.
"Are you ready, Esme?" Carlisle stopped them before entering the main rooms. The guard turned to watch them and waited for them to follow again, however, Carlisle was going to make sure she was ready, before entering.
{Esme, and Aro only}

Esme couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by this all, she was now on her way to meet the vampire equivalent of a royal family. Not only was she nervous, but she was afraid. The entire place looked Medieval, spooky. And she couldn't help but feel afraid about the vampires she was about to meet, the ones that did not share the same eating habits as herself and her husband. But she was here for him, to meet one of his oldest friends, friends he had stayed with for a while in the earlier days of his vampiric life.
Turning to Carlisle as she felt him take her hand, squeezing it gently, she smiled at him. Any fear she had momentarily wiped away as she looked at him. She felt comfortable beside him, their hands wrapped together.
As they paused, the guard turning to watch them, for a moment the bit of fear she felt was clear in her eyes. But with a sigh, a slight smile pulled up the corner of her lips, and she tugged lightly on her husband's hand. "Yes Carlisle," she told him, pulling him now, as they entered the larger room.

Aro had received word that Carlisle was coming to give him a visit, with his wife. He was excited as soon it was announced that he arrived Carlisle stood up to greet his old friend. He saw Carlisle and to his side his wife he looked scared.
Aro moved toward the middle of the room so he could greet his friend properly. "Ah, Carlisle it's been such a long time!" Aro said looking at Carlisle then he looked at Esme. "And it's just splendid to meet you!

”It is always good to see you, Aro. I have missed our long talks. Perphas one day you will come visit me and hunt my way.” He tjoked with his friend, knowing Aro would never hunt animals. Raising her hand, again to his lips, this time before Aro, Carlisle kissed it. “This is Esme, my wife.” He told him then turned his head to Esme, “And this is Aro, a old friend, I have told you about.” Carlisle looked back at Aro, always facing people when he spoke, “I wanted Esme to see this place, and meet people I call friends.”

"Ah, perhaps my friend," Aro replied. He wouldn't hunt animals, but maybe he could come visit his close friend.
"Esme I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here," Aro said after Carlisle introduced him to his wife. "If there is anything you need please just let one of us know and it shall be yours. Aro said happy to share anything he had with his good friend.

Esme looked up to meet the crimson colored eyes of who she could only assume to be Aro. Very open, welcoming, curious, and bold were adjectives she had all heard to describe as Aro. She smiled warmly up at him, pushing any previous fear back. "It is nice to meet you as well," she greeted.
She listened and watched as her husband and the dark haired man before them exchanged some words, Carlisle offering Aro the option to visit them at their home. Her smile grew as Carlisle lifted the hand he held, brushing his soft lips to her hand briefly, and introduced her to his old friend. She had been right in guessing who he was.
"Certainly," Esme nodded, "If I do find myself needing anything, though I'm sure I wont, I shall definitely ask."

"When I stayed with the you, Aro, I would watch other vampires, come and introduce there mates to you and yours. I was always in awe over the connections that seemed to draw them to each others. Watching them used to be fascinating." Aro had taught Carlisle most of what he knew about the vampire world.
"When I found Esme, I understood. It was no longer, just and idea I thought I understood." He explained. "I was hoping we might stay here, while we visited for a short time." Short mainly because, he did not want her exposed to the human hunting that went on with the vampires here. He knew she was learning control, and would never hurt a human. However, he did not want her to have to witness the death, either.

"Yes we did have some interesting vampires visit us didn't we?" Aro said remembering the several vampires that had all come for a visit. To see the grand Volturi to learn more about their own. It was all very interesting and they had gotten into many interesting conversations with more than a few.
"It would be wonderful to have you here!" Aro said pleased that his good friend was going stay for a little while. "You can stay as long as you desire. Perhaps we will even have a couple of interesting conversations like we use to have."

Esme stood there, keeping the warm smile plastered on her face. She wouldn't tell Carlisle but the idea of staying here kind of frightened her. She wasn't used to being around so many of their kind, especially those that stayed true to the natural prey.
Her smile grew as she listened to Carlisle talk about his past, there was so much that Esme still didn't know about the man she had married. She listened to Aro hope for more conversations like those of their past and she too hoped she'd be able to listen to those.
