---Rosalie would have hummed if she had not been surrounded by so may humans. She picked up her tray with her salad on it and walked, slowly, to the 'Cullen Table' where Jasper was sitting alone. Her and Jasper's English class had gotten out a few moments early so they were there before the others.
---Every male eyes in the room was on here. Granted there were only a few of them in there right now, but still. If there had been one or ten or fifty, every male eye was almost always on her. Rosalie loved it. She set the tray down next to her 'twin' brother and gracefully sat down. She didn't have to glace over at him to see his was having a hard time. Her vampire sight let her see that far with out looking.
---It was damn stupid to test him like this. They should hunt more often so he wouldn't get so . . . hungry in the middle of the lunchroom. If he snapped and ate the lunchroom and they had to move again. When Jasper moved slightly, maybe it was sifting in his seat or maybe it was getting ready to jump at someone walking by, Rosalie reacted. "Jasper." Rosalie said as she kicked him with the heel of her boots. Rosalie picked up her fork and stabbed her salad and held it up under his noise. It might smell horrible but maybe it would help. "Do you want a bite of my lunch?"

It was another day of school. Horrible school. Jasper truly despised every moment he was within this building. The only thing that made it bearable was the fact that he was with Alice . . . and of course his family. But the fact that he was surrounded by humans all day long, made the temptation too great for him to handle. Somehow, each day, he managed. He was weak, but he had enough strength to stop himself from attacking anyone.
He sat at the table that his family usually sat at and just stared at the inedible food that lay in a tray in front of them. It was horrible really, but it was just one of the many things they were required to do in order to 'fit in'. Jasper just had to keep reminding himself that the only reason he came, was for Alice. Otherwise, he would have no objection to spending all of his time at home . . . not surrounded by humans each of which had such. . . fresh . . . blood . . .
. . . This was going to be a long day.
Thankfully, Rosalie came . . . or perhaps she was not the best person to keep him calm. Then again, she had good intentions. She did want to help him, but the fact that she was currently feeling pride and enjoyment -- in being one of the most attractive women in school no doubt -- did not make it any easier to feel controlled in this situation. Each time the door opened, or a new human walked in, he would turn his gaze to wards them, no matter how hard he tried to avoid it.
When there was a group of four or five of them that entered at once, Jasper shifted in his seat, and had Rosalie not interjected, he would have attacked. Either way, Rosalie had stopped him . . . using a rather painful method.
Jasper subtly glared at her, and though it did not actually hurt, he knew it would be a wound that would need healing. "Rosalie," he said in a low, slighty irritated voice. He then picked up a straw and started chewing on it, just to distract himself from where he was, and all the temtpation he was surrounded with. Suddenly, a repulsive smell came about and he made a bit of a face at the fact that the cause of the smell was right under his nose. If there were not so many humans here, the disgusting smell of the salad would have covered it up.
"I . . . would not like a bit of your lunch. I would . . . " like a bite of something else but he did not finish his sentence. He just chewed his straw, and tried not to look at anyone. "You may enjoy that, delightful meal on your own. Thank you," he added politely, though it was slightly sarcastic. He knew that in her own Rosalie way, she was trying to help. But when Jasper was like this, agitated and uncomfortable, he became a little cranky until his next hunt. He looked at her apologetically, hoping she would understand since he was not often sarcastic.

---Rosalie put down her fork and looked at him worried. If he did anything Scary Jasper like then this would blow their cover. "This is just stupid, Jasper." Rosalie said low enough that humans would not here. "You and Emmett should go hunting tonight. Perhaps I and Alice can join you."
---Rosalie was, worried for her brother as well. She did love Jasper in her own way. She knew it would hurt him to fail. "Emmett is getting restless anyway. He looks better, less scary to the humans with gold eyes. You should do it for his shake." She said a bit more kindly. Trying to make it seem like it wasn't just Jasper who needed it.

While Jasper appreciated the sentiment in which Rosalie tried to convince him that they had to hunt for Emmett’s sake, he knew better than that. "Thank you Rosalie," he said, expressing that he knew what she was trying to do. "If you and Alice feel you could hunt tonight, then we should all go," he said in a sullen voice. He hated that it was so hard for him. It was making him far too dependent on the others, and while he knew he always would be in some way or another, it was making him weak and on the verge of pathetic.
"Are you actually going to eat that?" He asked, referring to the salad. He needed a distraction. He had to focus on something else . . . anything else. And for the moment, it was a salad.

---"I'm promoting healthy eating." She said dryly as if she really cared. In truth, she had just enjoyed making her salad prettier then the other girls who were making salads at the time. If the girls even cared enough to watch her they would see she never ate. Rosalie however, often picked up her fork or food and talked while holding it up as if she would eat it and then appear to distracted and sat it down. She also 'dapped' her mouth a few times as if she had taken a bite.
---It appeared she ate. "Really, Jasper" Rosalie held the fork over to him, this time not trying to get it close to his noise, "If you want a bite you just have to ask." She was teasing him now since he asked about her salad. "You are a vegetarian now."

Jasper just very slowly shook his head. "No thank you Rosalie." If there were perhaps only one human in the room, putting the salad close to his nose would cover the smell . . . or perhaps it wouldn't. Either way, Jasper was not going to eat -- or even pretend to eat -- the salad. "That is not what I am craving right now," he added in a barley audible voice, but he knew that Rosalie would be able to hear him. Their senses were heightened after all. He continued to bite down on his straw, and before long, it looked like it had been through an explosion. He picked up another one and began the same process again.
Must -- bite -- not -- bite -- kill -- bite -- humans -- bite! bite! bite!
Jasper was not doing well in this environment. He was getting more and more agitated.

---Rosalie was watching Jasper closely, she was worried he was about to ruin everything. Still, she could have faith in him, he would not do this to her. Ruin everything by attacking students. Would he? No. When Jasper moved, maybe even to pick up another straw, she quickly lifted her fork and again put it under his noise, this time however, she hit him with it. While it wouldn't hurt, she was sure he had salad up his noise now. Good! Smell that! "Oh no!" She picked up her napkin and held it up. "I am sorry!" She lied, but it was for 'the show'. Under her breath were humans would not hear. "Maybe you should say your sick and go hunting, now Jasper. Just tell the nurse you need to leave, and then go. . . . I can send Emmett after you." Emmett would love to skip class.

Was she poking him with a fork now? No far worse . . . she had put the disgusting green leafy solid up his nose. Jasper retrained himself from standing up, for he did not want to create a scene. They already got stared at enough; he did not need the whole lunchroom looking at him with curious eyes. He took a napkin a blew into it to get the horrible smell from out of his nostrils. "Rosalie," he grumbled in a low voice, so that no one else would hear for it was a mix of a growl as well. "You are not helping."
When he was fairly certain it was out of his nose -- even though now he smelled a mix of salad and humans -- he crumpled the napkin in his hand and started to slowly tear it into small pieces. He hated this . . . he hated himself for being so weak. He despised being the weak link in the family, and needing others to accompany him or to help him make up excuses to leave. "I do not need to leave," he said, hiding the agitation from his tone, leaving his words spoken in a monotone way. "I am certain I can last the rest of the day." It was what, only a few more hours. Though each minute felt like a century long.

---"I wish I believed you." Rosalie said honestly. "Your only going to push your self to the bring of your resistance and then some human will get bold and your going to snap." She didn't want to move she liked it here, and besides, she didn't want that sort of guilt on Jasper. He wouldn't handle it well. Honestly, everyone need to just believe her when she told them what was best for them! "I think we should go hunting tonight." Pause, "Right after school!"

Jasper did not want to think of the potential hazard he was on every human on earth. "Thank you for reminding me Rosalie," he said in a low, sarcastic voice. The fear was on his mind constantly . . . from the moment he entered school, to the second that the final bell rang. "That would not happen. I would not want to ruin this place for you . . . for anyone." His voice was slightly less sarcastic, for he meant it. Everyone was comfortable and happy here. He would not be the reason they moved. He couldn't be. "If you wish." He desperately wanted to go hunting, and he knew that if they ended up going, he would surely join them.

---Rosalie did not need to go hunting. She had self control. "I do wish." She said calmly as if she didn't think he was on the edge of attacking everyone in the room. Her face soften for a moment, "You shouldn't push your self so hard. It's easier for the rest of use, as we do not have your. . . . past." Rosalie, even in her moment of softness, could not help to add. "You can't help where you came from." She said, the way humans said 'they can't help being poor' or 'they can't help being homeless'.

Her momentary sympathy eased Jasper a little bit, but it did not last long. His shortness with her was not as rampant. "I wish it was not so hard for me. Then, I would not be placing all of you under such an inconvenience." He was not looking for symapthetic remarks, for he could feel Rosalie's sympathy . . . in a less than pitiful, 'I feel sorry for you' kind of way.
Jasper's mind trailed to Maria. His past was Maria. Whenever someone mentioned his past, Maria was there. He hated it. He hated how her presence constantly haunted him, and he had no one to blame but himself for having been so taken by that vampire. "I could have. I could have done something." Again, he did not want to whine and complain about things that had happened so long ago. "I often wish I could have been turned by Carlisle. At least that way, I would have immediately been brought into the lifestyle I am not trying to obtain."
