------ ---Rose had walked from the house to the garage. It was just somewhere she could work in peace, when...when she was in the house. She, being Bella. The human who they were supposed to jump for joy at her knowing everything about them. Honestly what was Edward thinking?
---Rose opened up her tool 'box' (box being an understatement; the cabinet was easily three times her size), where all her tools where shinny and clean as if new. When you had unlimited time, it was easy to clean your tools, as one might polish the sliver wear in a fancy house. They had the fancy house but....who needed a table sthingy here? Oh right...Bella did....
---Pulling the took 'box' over near one of the cars, Rose pop-ed the hood and rolled up her shelves on her white shirt. She could hear someone walking this way, and knew it wasn't Emmett. His walking made more sound then that. Esme's made less. When the smell got clear Rose knew it was her Brother. Not bothering to turn to wait for him, she leaned over the hood and started to unscrew the oil cap. Might as well change the oil while working.

Jasper had his hands tucked into his pockets. He briefly glanced at the sky aware that the weather Alice predicted would soon come. He was to round up the others so that they could get what they needed and be on their way before the thunder ceased. At least it had not begun yet . . .they had some time.
He did not need to have special abilities to recognize Rosalie's less than ecstatic mood. Maybe a good game would cheer her up. Or perhaps the presence of a certain someone -- a certain human -- would make her mood worse. Either way, Jasper was going to attempt to cheer Ros up.
He approached her and did not say anything. She was engrossed in her work, so he stood there patiently for a few moments, watching her work. He stared at the car, without really looking at it. He was just waiting silently. . .and waiting. . .and waiting. . .until he decided to speak.
"There is a storm coming tonight." A certain tone of eagerness was in his voice. Jasper loved baseball, and it would not be the same if the whole family did not participate. He felt slight reluctance to reveal the fact that Bella would be joining them but the one thing that he knew would save him from Rosalie's wrath, was the fact that he was not the one who invited her.

------ ---Rose waited; and waited. Jazz was just standing behind her. Rose had no special powers but she had known him for a long, long time. He was either judging her mood, or deciding on how to break bad news. When he finally spoke, Rose smiled despite her bitterness over their 'house guest'. "Have you told Emmett yet?" She asked, knowing what this meant. "He will be excited."
---Part of her loved baseball. It was a chance to jump and play with her family. She might be very girlie but she still loved to join them in the game. Spending time together with out worrying over what the humans thought. The challenge, the game. Emmett loved it more then her, but she often let his enthusiasm build her own.
---Besides, the teams where often Jasper, Rose and Carlisle against Edward, Emmett and Alice. Esme made sure they didn't cheat. "Same teams as always?" She turned to look at him, sitting on the front bummer of the car. She liked playing against Emmett. He got go excited at trying to best her.

"He's already gathering the equipment," he told Rosalie. Her next question was one he could not give a proper answer to. He had no idea if Bella was going to play or not, but if she was. . . if she was going to be there, he felt it better to tell Rosalie. No. To warn Rosalie. "With another addition. I am not sure if it will make the team uneven, or simply create another referee."
He prepared himself for whatever Rosalie was about to feel as he assumed that she knew who he was talking about. Her emotions would no doubt, be unhappy. Jasper had to admit that he wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of Bella accompanying them either. It wasn't because she was not a nice person. He was happy for Edward. It just made things increasingly difficult for his already difficult situation. Every time she was near them -- near him -- he had to fight the urge to attack her. It was a constant struggle, and not being around her (or any humans for that matter) helped him lower his guard. Hopefully, the game would be distraction enough for him.
"It is not easy to have her around, I know." Of course, Rosalie's aversion to her differed from Jasper's. "But Edward wants her there. We should be as supportive as we can." Jasper was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince Rosalie. . . if not more.

------ ---Rose let out a hiss. She just wanted an afternoon of fun, not trying to human sit. Rose knew Bella was not playing. Everyone knew how the girl could barely walk with out Edward having to hold her up. The girl tripped on air!
---Rose was not pleased. No, no no. She glared at Jasper even knowing it wasn't his fault. When he spoke of trying to supportive she hiss again. "Like he is with you? We know you're having a hard time with the humans and he brings one into our home and flaunts her around. Lets her sent fill the house! Makes it harder on you, puts all of us at risk if anyone one of us slips!"
---"If she dies Jasper, we are going to have run. Her Father's a cop, he is going to put the shady boyfriend with the sudden disappearance and our immortal faces will be all over the 5 O'clock news!"

Jasper looked down, ashamed. He wished he wasn't having a hard time. He wished he did not have to be singled out from the rest. He was the weak chain in the link. The weakest family member, and Bella -- since she was around so much -- was a constant reminder. He did not know what to say. He could not defend himself, because he knew she was right. He could not defend, Edward because this was hard on all of them.
He just let Rosalie get it out. First, he would try to calm her down the brotherly way. Then, if that was unsuccessful, he would try to calm her down the supernatural way. "This is not about me Rosalie. You all have self control. She is not going to die." Once again, Jasper's voice was filled with doubt. He slowly looked up at her, as the moment of admitting his faults that he already was aware of, passed.
"I do not know what to make of her. But what I do know is that this has never happened before. Edward seems. . . sure of himself." Again, Jasper could not promise that he could help ensure the existence of Bella Swan. "We can not push him away. He is our family. If we push her away, he will go with her. You and I both know that. We have to do what we can." And for Jasper, that was keeping his distance.

------ ---"Edward can be sure of him self, but he puts us all at risk. Even with self control..." Her voice dropped as if she was fighting something, an inner battle with her Vampire needs, "...I can hear her heart beating from here, I can smell her--" Rose stopped not wanting to make it harder on Jasper. She let her voice go back to normal and sent him an glance meant to say sorry. "He should not ask us to try this hard in our home. I or Emmett or Alice could hold back. Yes, but he should know better they to test you." Rose knew how hard he fought.
---"Jasper....I don't want to sound bitter, but how can I be the only one to see this as a negative. If he really loved her, he would keep her away from this....this exsistance."
---Rose did not like being a vampire. With our Emmett it would be horrible. She wanted to grow old, she wanted babies, and grandchildren to spoil and normal. She wanted sun, and care free touches.

Jasper just continued to look at her, an expression of concern and guilt combined together. "It is hard." He went closer to her, not in attempt to change the way she was feeling with what he could do. But rather, to comfort her by being closer to her. He was after all her brother. He knew that a wave of his power would not fix this situation. She would only feel the same way once she saw Bella again.
"I try." He was so ashamed. "We all try." Extremely ashamed. "I agree, it is not the best risk to take. But maybe. . . I should be used to it. Maybe, this will help me. In some way." Each day was torture. But, he was fighting and fighting hard. He would not disappoint Carlisle or Esme, or Rosalie, Emmett, Edward. . . Alice. He was not going to let this one human ruin the way he lived his life.
"Sometimes love is irrational. This is a first for Edward. He had not yet found someone he loves. Carlisle has Esme. You Emmett. And me Alice. It seems only fair we give Edward the chance." Fair? Fair was not having to, as Rosalie said, smell the sweet fragrance of her blood every single moment she was with them. Fair was not dangling her in front of them. She was like a piece of meat, presented to a pack of hungry dogs. It was temptation at its peak. Jasper was trying to believe his words.
"Do you think. . . he will stay with her?" The question may seem odd, especially considering the fact that he was trying to defend Edward, but maybe this was all very temporary. Maybe that was exactly what Jasper was hoping for.

------ ---Rose looked at him as he came near. She reached out and put a hand on his arm. "We are proud of you Jasper. You've done very well. I just think it's not fair for Edward to ask this of you, when home is one of the few rest you get from the pain....I remember well what it was like. The need." Rose let her hand drop. "I am not sure. Alice seems sure she will join us. I hate to bet against her but....I hope not. I would not wish this....on anyone. If he loved her, then he should let her grow old."

Her words were reassuring, but there was always room for improvement. "Do not let part of your anger be because of my situation. I wish we did not have to struggle the way we do. To fight the urge. . . to kill someone." How did Carlisle do it?! His will power never ceased to amaze Jasper.
Her emotions were clear. Whether he could sense them or not, he knew Rosalie longed to be human. "It is hard for you to accept this. I wish I could say I understand, what it is like to want to be human so badly." Jasper lost any trace of his humanity long ago.
"Alice may be wrong. Nothing is ever set in stone. Perhaps she will not join us Rosalie. There is still hope. I am sorry, that you feel this way. Do you want me to make you feel better?" He added a hint of a smile, his last remark a bit of a joke. He wasn't actually going to change her feelings right now. He was just trying to lighten the mood, even if it was ever so slightly.

------ ---Rose smiled then looked at him with a disapproving frown. Or tired to, her smile was winning out. He had made her feel better with out his powers, as Jasper could usually do one way or anything. With Emmett it was easy to laugh, making people laugh was easy for him. With Jasper, knowing his past and where he came from, it felt hard to laugh sometimes with him. A warrior, a killer. Still, it was amazing how far he came. Rose leaned on her car and looked over at him. "Your going to be on my team either way, I hope. With or with out the human....Your batting skills and my long range....Someone has to make the boys run and jump..."

Jasper laughed as his attempt worked. The mood had certainly taken a lighter turn. "You hope? Rosalie, our team is unbeatable. Why destroy tradition now?" He wished those words had not quite come out that way. It made him think of Bella. How different she was from the other couples within the Cullen family. It was unfamiliar. It was bizarre. It was. . . nontraditional.
"Besides. I would much rather you be on the winning team, rather than the losing one. I would not want to imagine the way you express your defeat," he smiled, teasingly. Jasper found it easy to talk to her. . . when it was just them. He was quieter when they were in a very public area, but he enjoyed the comfort of being with someone who understood him. It was why he would be content with never leaving the house, but he went to school for Alice. School. What a dreadful place.

------ ---"I vote, if Bella must play, then she plays on Edward's team. He wants the human, he can play with her handicap." Of being a klutz and being human. "We can hit all our balls right over her head and make Edward have to play two positions and not one!" If she was going to bitter about Bella, might as well be bitter AND plot to win. She gave a nod of her head and looked over at Jasper, her voice less joking. "If it's to hard on you...to be so near her...you should tell Edward before things get bad."

Jasper could not help but smile at her words. "I am in full agreement with that suggestion." He wasn't sure he was ready to insult the woman, or encourage Rosalie to do so, but he also knew that he was not going to tell her to be nice. There was no point, and as Jasper had previously mentioned -- even though it was obvious -- Rosalie was not the only one who had a problem with the human.
"I do not need to tell Edward anything he does not already know. He ensures they keep their distance when I am near. Do you think, you will ever be more accepting of her?" He was not asking her in a rude, sarcastic way. . . he was just concerned about his sister, and worried that this resentment she felt towards Bella was going to cause tension and conflict between her and Edward.

------ ---Rose did not answer. Her issues with Bella went more deep then most people knew. Emmett might know, he seemed to know her best, even with Edwards mind reading. She did not want to explain this to Jasper. She did not want to think about Bella staying long enough that she would need to accept her.
---Rose just sat in silence, until she felt the anger at Edward for bring Bella around, slip away. Her own doing (she thought). "Want to make a bet?" Jasper and Emmett (Especially Emmett) liked to make random bets. "If she plays, then I bet she will trip before--" Rose cut off when sounds of someone stumbling could be heard from the house. Vampires didn't stumble. "--before even getting to really play."

Jasper was not one to pry. If Rosalie did not want to discuss it any further, then he would not pest her to the point of making her leave to avoid the subject. Her change of subject certainly was intriguing though. He smiled. He usually made bets with Emmett, but it was not uncommon for him to make wagers with other family members. "I say that she makes it at least to first base. . . if she hits the ball."
It was no doubt, going to be interesting watching a human try to play baseball with a group of vampires. She was too under qualified to keep up. "You're on. Do you think Emmett would want in on this bet? Maybe we should find him before we finalize anything." A three way bet. . . interesting indeed.

------ ---"Betting with one of Emmett's three favorite things to do, next to fighting." Rose said not saying the third one allowed. Everyone knew Emmett and Rosalie's favorite past time together. They had been kicked out of the house once or twice for it.
---Rose didn't want to go in the house and look for Emmett yet. He would hear them betting and come when he was ready to place his bet or when he was done doing...whatever Emmett was doing in a house with a human. Rose changed the topic trying to stall Jasper from going in to talk to Emmett. "When are you going to get car for me to work on?"

Jasper smiled and nodded in full agreement. They all loved betting. Though many was never a tight issue for them, it was all about the success of winning, and proving the other right. Of course . . .their betting sometimes tended to be a bit morbid, but they were vampires after all. They had to find some way to have fun. "I believe betting for Emmett is the safer choice." Emmett usually seemed ready for a fight but a vampire fight was far more intense than any normal one.
He then shrugged at her question. "Why get a car when I can simply catch a ride with you or Alice. Or even run to my destination myself. A car is unnecessary. Though if it makes you happy, I can bring you a beat up car so that you can have something to fix up and feel accomplished." Jasper seldom drove any of the cars. Though he loved it, he did not need to.

------ ---Rose glared at him playfully. "I don't need a dump to fix." She happened to like working on cars that were almost as pretty, and about as fast as she was. "You need something you can make yours in a way. Something fast."
---Rose knew he was right about Emmett's safest past time. She might hate this life but Emmett alone made it bearable. "You'd be able to race Emmett in and bet in whole new ways." She hinted to give him something to think about. She looked over at Emmett's jeep. It was big, bulky and rough, just like him. She glanced at her M3, it was sleek, gorgeous, and powerful like her. The others cars as well seemed to match there personality. (All but Esme who like Jasper, did not own a car). Rose thought for a moment. "I should buy you one." For her to work on.

"Are you suggesting that my unnatural vampire speed is not fast enough?" He asked smiling, pretending to ask the question in a way so that if she agreed, he would be offended. He was not at all. Even Jasper . . . a military man . . . had a sense of humor and understood the true meaning of a joke.
"You raise a tempting option. Betting, and a guaranteed win, with Emmett would certainly keep things interesting. The question is, would you betray your husband for your brother by ensuring his car is much faster than your true love's?" Again, it was a bit of a joke. Jasper loved any opportunity that arose to bet Emmett however. "There is no need Rosalie. I will visit the junkyard tonight and get you the most horrible car I can possibly find. Then, you will have a brand new project."

------ ---"If you bring anything dirty and rusted into my garage I will find a way to get even." She said with a smile both on her face and in her tone. Lighting up now that they were one safer topics. Such as cars, and bets.
---"And I would make both cars run to in top shape. My husband dose not need any help from me to win." She looked over at Emmett's jeep. "He would simply make sure it was off road and whatever car I got you would not make it in the places he would plan to race you in."

Jasper was fully aware that she would carry out her threat, and he had no desire to find out what it was she would do. "Fair enough. I would not want to challenge you. Especially when it comes to getting even." The wrath of Rosalie could certainly be great. It was better to be on her side, than against her.
"Then perhaps it is time we change the location of the race. To an open road. A highway. I would not want to be at an immediate disadvantage." When Jasper made bets with Emmett . . . he had to win (or at least try). "We should go car shopping then some day Rosalie. And conspire to defeat your husband," he added smiling.

------ ---"When you phrase it, that way then...no..." She said smiling. "However, I will go car shopping with you for the pleasure of it." Alice would of course want to come and control the make and model and color because she'd SEEN it coming. Rose liked Alice and was used to the slightly controlling side of her but, sometimes Rose liked to make decisions and not be told it was already made. Still, Rose loved her sister and wanted to shop for clothes with Alice any day over sit at home with Human girl and Twist Boy who loved her.
---Not that Rose hated Edward. most times they didn't get alone but when they were in the garage and both tuning there cars and for ones in perfect harmony, she had fun. She missed that Edward. Not this one who for some reason thought this half way pretty human was the--- Rose looked at Jasper who could most likely feel her emotions turn as she mind raced, so she changed the topic to something more relaxing. "I think you would like something blue."

Jasper was fully aware of his sister's immense dislike for Bella, and so when the thoughts and emotions built up in her mind, Jasper knew not to question it. It was not as if Rosalie tried to make secret of is disapproval for Bella . . . Jasper just had a better idea of exactly what she was feeling. Unfortunately, if he had been around Rosalie all the time (instead of constantly following Alice), perhaps some of her distaste for the girl would rub off on him.
"We must go sometime," he agreed, trying to divert her thoughts. He wanted his sister to be happy and thinking of Bella made her anything but. It was the same for Jasper . . . Alice's friendship with her forced him to be as accepting as a blood thirsty vampire could be though. "What model would you suggest? You are an expert in the field. I would merely just look at how fast it could go." It was her expertise . . . definitely not Jasper's.

---------A smile spread slowly over her face as she let her mind wonder to both what would suit Jasper, and what she would love to work on, or even look good driving on a occasion. That and Jasper's words, calling her an expert made her pride kick in. On any other vampire or person it would be fine, on Rose it looked beautiful but smug. ---"Perhaps a Mercedes Benz SL 500." Rose said thinking it over. "They have a sleek look, drive smooth and has the power you would need to stand a change against Emmett." The car could go faster then Emmett's but if anything got in it's way it would have to go around it, Emmett's jeep (like the man) would go though it, or over it.

"So they are fast and pretty?" Jasper joked. He acted as if his knowledge was very, very limited. Though, it was not as extensive as Rosalie's, it was not that of a completely clueless person when it came to vehicles. After all, he is over a century . . . he's had his fair share of cars.
"Tomorrow, we should go look at them." Jasper, of course, enjoyed spending time with his dear twin sister . . . he also knew that if they went, they may not be going alone for it seldom occurred that Jasper went anywhere without Alice. "Thank you Rosalie. For giving me a chance to beat Emmett." Though he was sincere in his words, he could not help but give a small smile at the thought.
[OOC: I could definitely see Jasper in that. *tries very hard to ignore the image of the old man in the driver's seat*]

------ ---"I fully plan to warn him of your master plan." She told him. Alice was Jasper's number one, Emmett was Rose's. While in the name of fair play she would give Jasper a chance, she would always want Emmett to win. No matter how cute he was when he pouted over losing and ranted about rematches.
---"He will find some way to even the odds." Warning him wasn't necessary. She didn't even mean it as a warning, more of a brag on her man. "I assume Alice already knows our plans then, perhaps you should think of a color and she can just tell us were we need to go to find it. Somewhere not sunny to shop."

"I would assume you would. The element of surprise certainly will not be something I can use to my advantage." He expected nothing less than for Rose to tell Emmett what they were up to. If Alice did not usually already know what was going on, Jasper would tell her everything. "And I will be waiting," he said smiling. Whether Jasper won or not, he knew he would be a fun challenge. That was why he enjoyed betting with Emmett so much . . . neither necessarily won more than the other. They both found unique ways to challenge each other.
"If she does not already, then she will. Blue does sound rather appealing however. I am sure she knows which one we will be purchasing . . . we simply have to ask her."

"She will." He was rather sure of that fact, and while it may be annoying to some, Jasper could not find a single possible part of Alice's personality annoying. He saw no flaw in her. She was perfect to him, and so would never complain about something she did. "Even if it does defeat the surprise." It was not difficult to connect Rosalie's disappointment to what caused it. "Or perhaps she could accompany us and lead us in the right direction." That way, they would not know right away and there would still be that curiosity and anticipation.
"The sooner the challenge begins, the better. No sense in wasting time." Time was all they had, but it certainly was fun to get started as soon as possible.
