Ambrose drove her jeep through the woods. It bounced and jumped around but Ambrose didn't care. She was used to driving with no roads. Ambrose sung softly to herself, it was a Native American lullaby that her mother had sung to her when she was young. Only by concentrating on it with all her might did she remember the words and the tune of it. Of course the full moon helped her remember and for this one night the moon was out and full. So Ambrose didn't have her headlights on as that would tip the people off, not that she thought anyone was out here.
Finally Ambrose parked her car and got out before looking around for some firewood. It was late and not that she was cold or needed light it was a thing of the past and she wanted it for comfort. Ambrose sat down and stared into the fire, knowing that the flames were reflected in her ruby eyes. She had just gotten back from having a snack in the middle of Seattle. No one would miss that murderer and if they did too bad, he was gone already. From Kate she had learned that the vampires that lived here were vegans and strangely kept a permanent residence so she respected that and hunted outside their territory even though she had yet to meet any of them.
