The fight was over. Well, it was more of a confrontment. The Volturi had gone back to Volterra, and a few of the witnesses had gone back to their own homes while others stayed. Alice was glad to be back home and to have things back to normal.
After a well needed hunt, Alice left Jasper to do what he wanted to do on his own. It felt odd, being apart from him now since they had spent the last month or so together constantly, it felt like the day the two had met the Cullens. The little vampire walked into the never actually used kitchen, knowing she would find Carlisle there. She felt terrible about leaving with Jasper so suddenly without telling anyone, she felt it had been important to do things that way.
As she had seen in her vision during her hunt, Carlisle was in the kitchen. She walked towards him in a slightly slower vampire pace, and she stopped when she reached him. "Carlisle," She started, her voice was clear, not cheery nor sad or blank. "May I speak with you." Though her voice said nothing yet, Alice's expression showed how sorry she was feeling. It was very hard to leave like that, and hard to think that they might have doomed their family by leaving.

The what to be thought of battle was finally over, and the Cullens could now 'rest in peace' a little better, no pun intended. Carlisle was just glad that there had been no fights broken out, as he was not a mean who approved of violence. He thought quite the opposite. Violence was just an inappropriate way people liked to get out anger for some reason. The Volturi were not always that way, but he was just glad that things with them had not turned out for the worse.
Sighing softly, Carlisle ran his fingers through his pale blonde hair. He was leaning against the marble kitchen counter, letting everyone else chat. They had all been worried, well freaking out slightly, about the disapperance of Alice and Jasper. They had all been quite grateful that they had shown up at the last second, and probably saved all of their lives. They'd forever be grateful of Alice's visions, as this was not the first time that they had saved some of the Cullens lives.
The blonde doctor had heard Alice yet, and Carlisle turned to face her. His face was composed, though his eyes did show signs of relief. "Of course, Alice." He could hear no sorrow in his voice, but it was much more obvious in her face that she regretted leaving without a word. Or at least, that's what he thought that she was regretting. He couldn't think of anything else that she might feel guilty of at the moment, but with the recent events it had to be that.

Alice walked over to him when he replied to her. She didn't know where to start, nor what to expect since Renesmee was too closeby for her to see anything, on the future. She came to a stop to her human walk, infront of him. Alice looked up at him with her dark brown eyes which were working their way from black to gold, and she started. "I am truely sorry about the way Jasper and I abruptly departed. It was not his fault, it was my own plan, I could not bring myself to leaving him, even when I knew he would have been very useful to you all. It was a selfish act on my part." Alice paused, looking down. "I never wanted to make you all feel as if we had abandoned you in the middle of a crisis; trying to save ourselves instead of staying to fight. But, I could not tell you what I had planned. I could not get your hopes up and be responsable for bashing them if we did not makeit back in time.
"I know that, now, it is a lot easier to say that you forgive us -- me -- but I need to apolagize, still, for leaving like that. It was very hard." Alice looked back up at her 'father', she had a feeling he would not be angry, he never truely was, but it made her feel a little bit better to think of that.

There was no need for Alice to apologize, was Carlisle's opinion. She had most likely saved them all from being killed by the Volturi, though that he couldn't have been certain on. He was not a mind reader like his first son, Edward, and was unsure. He had tried very hard to be optomistic when Alice and Jasper had left, and he had always thought of them too highly to be selfish enough to leave the rest of them to die. Even if they had though, it was still likely for the Volturi to go find them.
The apology was not needed, Carlisle rarely had to have people apologize for him to forgive them. He was too compassionate and kind to force people to do that. It just was too cruel to do, and sometimes they weren't sorry for what they did. He never could really tell if they were, but this apology was obviously sincere and true to even the dumbest of people. He gave his pixie like daughter a comforting smile as an attempt to relax her a little. She seemed to be worrying about him not forgiving her a little too much.
"Of course you're forgiven, Alice. You do not have to be pyschic to know that. There was no need to apologize, you most likely ended up saving us all." Carlisle said calmly, looking at her. He would have met her eye, as he knew his own golden ones would be screaming the truth, but with her looking down he was not able to especially since he was already taller than her.
