1860 The hunt for Benito
Aro sighed on his way the western United States. He didn't leave his home very often, but when he did it was for good reason. Benito. What a mess that vampire has caused. Creating newborn armies it is time for him to stop this silly little game of his, he is giving others bad ideas. And need for more of a mess. But maybe this little explanation of what will happen to any vampire who tries to make an army will stop this. But first they have to find him, yes a very tricky vampire to find indeed. He can run, but he wouldn't hide for long.
Aro was in Texas tracking him down his guard where with him as usual always so protective not wanting anything to happen to their dear leader. Aro had grown tired of question vampire after vampire none knowing where he is some leads but he always runs off before they get a chance.
Aro spotted a young vampire one he had yet to question. "Hello dear one!" Aro greeted the vampire his guard close behind him ready to protect him. They wore gray robes his the pure black showing who was in power.

Maira turned her head quickly when she heard a voice speaking to her. She was dressed in a thin white day dress that the lower class of Mexico wore. It was stolen from one of her victims. Her hair, as always hung free and lose down her slider back.
She had been hoping to stay out of the eyes of the Italians. Apparently she was not going to be able to do so. While she had not made an army she had watched others and thought about it. It would allow her to survive in this world. Allow her to get her own fill. "Me?" She asked as if she didn't know who he was speaking to. She knew.

"Yes dear one!" Aro said taking a few steps closer to the girl. His guard followed him like a shadow any step he took they followed exactly. This was strange land much different from their home they didn't want to take any chances. "I'm Aro one of the leaders of the Volturi," Aro introduced himself he liked people to know who he was, how much power he had. Aro looked at the young vampire before him. "May I request to know your name?" Aro questioned the girl. She may not know the one they are looking for but of course he want to know who she was for future reference.
He was getting tired of this game Benito was playing with him. He would make sure his death was painful he didn't like playing around. It had been a few weeks and they still yet to see him. He would go through every city if he had to he was not going to be able to escape from them. He knew very well what was coming and that his life was at an end. Of course Aro didn't show any of this to his guard nor to the vampires he talked to. He was always cheerful knowing very well they knew him enough to fear him.

Maria watched him and his minions. She wondered why they were talking to her. She knew why they were here, and knew she had nothing to to with it. Had they showed up a bit later, she might have but as of yet, she had not done anything wrong. "I am called Maria, one of the leaders of the south." She said as a way to let him know she was not impressed with his authority. Then again Maria knew little of the Volturi. She was only now seeing their power and skills.
"Your travel with many." Too many for loners like her self to feel comfortable with. It seemed they made vampires fear them by just their numbers if not by the few stories she had heard of. "What brings you to my city?" She asked, knowing it wasn't in any way her city. Not yet. However the owners had fled when the Volturi showed up and finders, keepers. . .

"Ah, Maria!" Aro exclaimed after she introduced herself as well. She clearly wasn't impressed by his power or who he was. "It is splendid to meet you, my friend!" Aro loved to meet new vampires. But he didn't like how she said her city. After all this was the reason they were here to destroy Benito. Who had created a newborn army just to ensure he had control over a city. Did she simply claim this land as her own or had she taken it over. How much did she know of this situation, how much did she know about the Volturi. So many more questions coming forth and all can be answered with one simple touch.
"We are tracking down one who has caused much trouble for us," Aro told Maria the reason for them being here. Of course they traveled with many protection for their master. Aro took a few steps closer the others followed. He turned slightly to look at them and put up his hand. "No need to fret, I'm sure young Maria means no harm, just curious!" Aro told them as a sign to stay where they were. He didn't want to frighten the young girl, but that couldn't be helped. "Yes, master," the guard replied in unison. They did stay where they were but the stance was far from at ease ready to shield Aro at any moment Maria decided to try anything.
"Ah my dear your city is lovely," Aro said calmly. "But how does one come by such a prize?" Aro asked waiting for an answer. Would she tell him the truth would she know his power? He would find out how she gained this power soon enough. Depending if she created a newborn army will depend on what will happen to her. He may let her slide if she had after all there had never been anything against it before. But nothing like this had ever happened. Maybe another demonstration would help discourage this, yes that would help. And he was growing tired of this game Benito was playing with him. It would certainly give him something to do. But if she had done nothing wrong then at least he will know her and she will know who he is and be aware of him the next time they meet.

Maria watched his he told them to stay back. At lest he seemed not to want to hurt her. They didn't look relaxed at all however. She watched them more then Aro until he came closer. She couldn't tell him how she was only the owner because he had scared the others off. She smiled at him giving him her most charming grin. "People skills." She purred. Maria didn't have a gift per say but of vampires strongest behaviors became there most predominant ones, sexuality would be Maria's. "Your friends seem very protective of you."

"A good trait to have my dear," Aro replied to Maria. She said people skills but that didn't mean much. How had she gained this city that she claimed. "I am curious," Aro asked, "What all do you know about us?" Aro meant the Volturi what all did she know, did she know what powers they had?
Of course Aro could find out all of his answers by simply touching her. Which he planned to do, but wanted her to answer her question first. It was curious how old was she, how long a vampire. How much had she been taught. "Yes," Aro replied glancing at the guard. "You wouldn't believe the thoughts of destroying me, we all have to be careful," Aro shook his head. Yes he had heard thoughts that wanted to destroy him of course in return they themselves was destroyed. On occasion he let it slip, but most of the time not.

Oh Maria would believe it. Any one with power had enimys, that was a fact of life. "I know who you are, and why your here." She explained. She didn't know to much about them but enough to avoid them. "I have heard stories about you and yours." Mostly from bitter or on the run vampires and they had not been pleasant. They had been horror stories. She looked over at his guard again, "With the sights before me, of your friends, I must say the stories are looking truer and truer. A pitty they are so horrible, you at lest seem to have some manners." Maria didn't see it as being bold, just as her 'people skills' She would make him think she had hear the worse but believed the best.

"We aren't as horrible as those make us out to be," Aro replied smiling gently. "We uphold the one rule that all must keep. To keep the secret. We must ensure our way of life, your way of life, is not revealed to the humans. Such a mess that would cause. And of course we want nothing more than justice. That isn't to horrible is it?" Aro asked explaining what they did. He glanced at the guard seeing them still tensed always worrying.
Aro looked back at Maria he wanted to know how exactly she had acquired this city. Aro held out his hand, "If I may my dear." He was unsure if she knew his power yet or not, but he would soon find out. With one simple touch he would know all of her thoughts, what she thought of them, what she thought of this city, what she was planning on doing when they left, everything.

"We are so much better then humans, why should we hide? We could rule." She said, wondering why they did hide. It seemed silly to her mind. When he held out his head she mistaken the reason for it not knowing of his powers. "Were are we going?" Thinking he meant to escort her somewhere. "I perpher to stay here." She wondered if he was going to order his guards to drag her away. She had not broken there one rule so what did he want?
Maria however did place her hand in his, since she did not want to be be dragged away. She did not like how it make her feel, very vulnerable. She wondered if she could escape if they planned to hurt her.

"Imagine what that would would be like my dear," Aro replied. "The world where the humans knew about what was coming for them. Can you see what they would try to do. In my three thousand years the humans have advanced greatly building weapons to destroy each other. If they knew of us, don't you think they would find a way to destroy us as well?" Aro liked the way the world was where they were in power, where they only had to worry about vampires. Humans were weak, but they would try to come up with something and might succeed in destroying them.
Aro smiled when she took his hand. He knew every thought she had. What she was planning on doing. What she had done, how she had become a vampire. Her foggy human memories he saw everything. Every secret, everything she wanted to hide was all laid out in front of him. Her learning about the newborn armies, thinking about making her own. "How very interesting," Aro replied after seeing her every thought. "Your thoughts are not ones you should have. We can not allow that to happen." Aro pulled his hand away from hers and stepped back into to place around his guard. He looked at her. "We are here to punish those who have created armies. You have seen them and learned how to make one. You have not done anything as of yet. But you are coming close. I hope you intend to leave this behind you and not worry about the armies. If others are created we will return and destroy all that have created them." Aro warned Maria keeping his eyes on her.

Maria pulled her hand back in part shock part furry but he had already let go. She hissed out a warning but backed up a few steps so his minions wouldn't attack. "You should warn someone, what your doing before you do it." She glanced at his guard which had been the only thing to keep her from attacking and forced her self to calm down and use her 'skills'.
Maria gave a smile as if she had not just hissed about him, "Assuming you have done what I think you have done then you know I have only observed. I have no army." She gave a shrug of her shoulder and looked back at him. "I have broken no rules."

As soon as Maria let out a hiss the guards that surrounded Aro were tense. They in return let out a snarl a warning and were ready to attack her even as she took a few steps back. Aro put up his hand stopping them before they did anything to hasty. "You are right my dear," Aro replied his eyes never leaving her. "I should have warned you I suppose," Aro pondered on it. He had never told anyone they usually knew his power, but of course he usually stayed at his home. "Most know what I can do as they come to me."
Aro smiled back at Maria. "I know every thought you have ever had," Aro replied still aware of his guard that were still tense. But were not going to attack unless Maria made another advance. "You have not broken any rules," Aro agreed. "This is just a warning for future reference. You know we will come back. And I do hope you don't plan on furthering you knowledge on the newborn armies."

Maria have him a slow almost innocent smile. "Dearest Aro, I am no threat to your rules." It was meant to sound like 'I would never build an army or do anything for forbid as you can see I am a good girl and need not worry' but it was also a slight lie. Even if she didn't have the plans yet, she knew that one day she would build an army and take the town she wanted to badly. The only way to get it was with numbers. At lest it appeared so. She had thought about building a special army. Filled with special former humans. Men. Making them beg to die for her, then giving them a chance.

"I would certainly hope so," Aro replied a gentle smile on his face. He had read her thoughts she wanted the city, but maybe now she would be more careful. Aware of what happened. "After all we are here to destroy the creator," Aro added another warning. "If this was to start up after we left we will come back and destory all who dared to even think of creating an army," Aro stated a smile till on his face. Caius would certainly enjoy destroying them that was the type of person he was.
"But I'm sure if we shall ever return we will remain as good friends," Aro replied. He was good friends with all the vampires knowing their every thought he knew them even thoughts that the wanted to remain hidden he knew. He felt like he truly knew them and were friends by simply touching them. They feared him, but he knew them what they had thought of him why they were in his presences if they had done anything to endanger their way of life.

Her eyes narrowed when he said all of them who even think of creating an army. Maria however knew better then to kick up a fuss. She smiled and gave a shrug of her arms while acting as if the thought no longer bothered her. "I am sure no would give you a reason to return. After all, you must have more important things to do then baby sit us here. I will behave my self."
She didn't like how he keep giving subtle warning in his statements. She had broken no rules yet and he was treating her like she had been caught red handed. "Yes, if you come this way again, we must have a civil conversation. I would love to hear more about were your from." She stressed the word civil, since to her mind he was treating to come back and kill her.

"How right you are we got many things to be doing," Aro replied smiling at Maria. "I do hope to see you again, but hopefully not for the wrong reasons. But I trust you to remember the warning and warn others as well," Aro replied not wanting her to forget the warning or them. They would return if needed to. Aro turned to look at his guard, "Let us finish this quickly so we can return home." The guard replied in unison as always. "Yes master," Aro smiled at them turning his attention back to Maria once again. "Until we meet again my young friend!"
Yes it had been far to long since they had been to Italy. Benito would be found soon and he would die painfully. He was to much trouble to be found and dealt with peacefully. Aro's eyes darken at the thought and a smile formed on his face. And with that thought Aro turned his guard following his every move exactly moved away. He was ready to end this and return to his beloved home.
