Jasper adjusted the collar of his coat before putting his hands back into his pockets. Somehow, he had ended up in Philadelphia. Truth be told, it did not matter where Jasper went, or how far he traveled. He was still haunted by his past. . . one that was quite recent as well. It was the middle of the day and Jasper desperately wished it was night. At night, there were less people. But since he did not sleep, he had to wander at all times during the day and night. The year was 1948 . . . it had been quite some time since he left Maria and her clan. He had his reasons for leaving. He was very private about them . . . then again, the only people -- or vampires -- he had spoken to were Charlotte and Peter. And they had known his situation. Peter had helped him escape the prison he was trapped in. But Jasper could not remain with them forever. He could not live the way he had then . . . but what else could he do? How could he deal with the way his victim's felt in their last moments? Self pity was not a quality Jasper allowed to consume him. He did not feel sorry for himself. He felt sorry for those who had to deal with his existence.
As the rain started to pour, this only made things more inconvenient. He did not like being out in the middle of the day and he did not like rain. He was just very cynical about everything right now . . . it was mostly due to one thing. He was thirsty. Seeing people around him made the temptation and urge even greater. He was trying to do whatever was necessary for him to survive, but the people he did kill to quench his thirst was still a difficult task to do. He could still feel their fear and pain. Was there any way to escape this? He could not bear to feel what his victims felt before they died. He carried those emotions with him . . . unwillingly, and when they began to diminish, they arose again once he killed the next of his victim/s. His eyes were dark . . . the blackest of black. People did not notice. He rarely looked people directly in the eyes any more. He kept his gaze lowered: he overall kept to himself. It was the safest thing to do for both him . . . and others. Being surrounded by so much temptation was too much to endure. And yet . . . he somehow managed to prevent himself from killing a human the second he felt thirsty.
As these thoughts flooded Jasper's mind, he saw a small diner that did not look to be too crowded. He went inside, and to both his relief and disappointment, it was virtually abandoned. He shook his head a little, as the small raindrops dripped from his blond strands of hair. He stood there in the door way for a few moments, looking at the crowd that surrounded him. While there were not many . . . there were still enough to As he looked, his eyes rested on a woman. She looked young, petite . . . stunning. There was a certain beauty about her that made her familiar. He had never met her before, because he would have remembered . . . but her fair, pale skin, and her breathtaking appearance made it difficult for Jasper to look away. He was staring, and he knew it. But it was practically an impossibility to change the direction of his gaze. It was not only that. He could feel her emotions from a distance . . . they were unfamiliar. They drew him to her. So he stood there, a little dumbly, near the door way of this small diner where he just happened to come across this woman. --- Tag Alice ---

Business was slow, as everyone could see. But for the few that came back to the small, homey diner, they would see this was the busiest time of the day. There sat a couple, and a small child in the far corner, and a few travels occupied random seats to themselves. The lights in the place were flickery, pretty much dim as could be, but still shed-ed light. The owners and employees seemed to be no where in sight.
A small girl stood, leaning against the far wall from the entrance, staring into space. She seemed detached from the world, perhaps she had been here long? Too long to notice any new features to the diner, and had simply given up. This girl had amber eyes that seemed to fade away in the dim light. They were barely noticeable, which was good. Her pale features and skin did not contrast with her black tinted hair like it should have, but instead made her all the more to look at.
Alice wore a simple light blue shirt with dark jeans. She was mostly covered up by a long, black jacket that seemingly matched her black, flat shoes. Slowly, the girl looked up from the ground, hearing footsteps up to the diner. Seconds later a man walked in, whom caught her eye. Finally, she thought. This was who she had been waiting for. He seemed to notice her too, and so she stared back, a smile fixed on her face. Pushing against the wall lightly, Alice stood up straight, but continued to stare.

It did not take long for Jasper to realize that the young beauty was looking back at him. Perhaps it was because he was simply staring at her . . . but there was an expression on her face that confused him. Her warm smile only strengthened whatever jovial emotions he felt from her. Even at a distance . . . they were so strong. Who was this woman? She was not like Maria or the others. She was not like any one he had eve been around.
He wanted to go up to her . . . speak to her . . . get to know her, but he was frozen in place. All he could do was stare. He did not even bother sitting down. He did not care about the awkward position he was in . . . and he did not care if anyone else was looking. His eyes were fixated into her, and he did not know how he would ever look away.

Seeing the man was not going to make the first move, Alice slowly walked to him, careful not to make it seem like she was eager, although she was. The girl seemed to dance over to him, smooth as silk was her walk. All signs of impatience that flooded from her before he came were now dissolving with each step. Her smile widened slightly as she came before him.
"You've kept me waiting for a long time." Her voice was like wind-chimes, almost song-ish. Stretching out her hand for him to take, she looked expectantly at him.

He made no attempt to move when she came closer to him. There was something about her indeed. What he felt when she was near was something he had never experienced before. It was joy. Pure, absolute joy. There was a confidence about her . . . the way she walked up to him . . . the way she smiled at him . . . the way she spoke to him. The emotions from her were addictive. Though he had only seen her a couple of seconds ago, he felt drawn to her . . . he wondered how empty he would feel when she walked away from him. These unfamiliar feelings were refreshing . . . they were something Jasper had longed for, for so long without even knowing it.
Her words only raised more confusion. But instead of babbling on, asking questions . . . he momentarily put aside the curiosity of her apparent expectation and lowered his head in a slight bow. "Sorry Ma'am." Jasper -- vampire or not -- still felt he needed to be a gentleman. That would sound quite hypocritical considering all that he had done in the past . . . but this woman in front of him, was someone who he needed to respect. Someone he needed to be polite in front of. He would soon find out, that she was someone he simply needed.

The girl's eyes suddenly began to glow to excitement. Yes. This was him. She was sure. The one she was supposed to meet, and the one she 'saw'. Momentarily, Alice was embarressed, her hand floated in the air while they talked. Slowly, she lowered it, not expecting him to take it anymore. "Sorry Ma'am." he had said. Alice nodded briefly, her hand barely out infront of her. Her gaze drifted to his eyes, and what she saw disturbed her briefly.
His eyes were black. She didn't need to be as close as humans did to notice that. Only now did she realize, or rather, did she even stop to think, he was a vampire. A hungry one at that. Glancing around to the few people in the room, Alice more urgently put out her hand for him to take. Her eyes were still warm and welcoming, nothing had changed besides her mood.

Jasper had missed the subtle hint the first time . . . but the second time he clued in a bit better. Because he no longer heard her melodic voice, he watched her more carefully -- if that was even possible -- . Was she really giving him an opportunity to go with her? It was not like she was luring him away either. She was filled with too many positive emotions for her to have some sort of negative plan. She acted as if she knew him . . . but he did not know her. He would have remembered her.
The fact that she was so happy, and so inviting made no sense to him. With all the scars on his body, he would have thought she would take one look and run in the opposite direction. Vampires knew what these scars meant . . . and humans reached their own conclusions. Either way, their reactions were that of fear. They would leave him to himself . . . which was often what he preferred. But not right now. He wanted to go with her. He wanted to be with her. Who knows how she felt about him . . . but so far, all her feelings were those of kindness and compassion and for that reason, he accepted her invitation.
He gently took her hand into his own, keeping his eyes locked on to her eyes. As he held onto it . . . it was as if a sudden burst of something inexplicable exploded into him. So many emotions . . . happiness. Peace. And for the first time in almost a century, he felt pure hope.
He asked no questions. He did not want to ruin this perfect moment in his life. The first perfect moment ever since he had become a vampire . . . and maybe even the most perfect moment in all his human life too. He wanted nothing to disturb this. Where was she going to lead him? What was their next step? All he knew was that now he held on to her hand . . . he never wanted to let go and he would follow her anywhere and everywhere she led.

Alice smiled brightly as he took her hand. Gently tightening her grip, the girl commenced to leaving the small diner for what was finally her last time. She had come here everyday waiting for him, just waiting... She had no doubt he'd show up one day, but it had seemed like forever. Alice was filled with happiness, and wholeness that she never even knew she was missing. As the two exited, a thought began to bubble to the surface of her busy mind. Where just was it she wanted to take him? He seemed willing enough to go, but where was the actually question and problem here. Not him.
She decided that quenching his probably dying thirst would be the best for him now. While he did that, she could figure out what to do. Perhaps they should travel? Away from this town she had been in soo very long. Uncertainty threatened to overwhelm her. She had never been this uncertain before. Never. It was a new feeling for her, something she did not like. Tightening her grip slightly again on his hand, she began a corse to the nearest forest. It would help hide their skin from the sun, and no one would be in the woods, most likely. This action had due purposes, for they could find something to eat while in here too.

Jasper held the door open for her as they exited the diner. The entire time they walked, he did not take his eyes off of her. He was utterly mesmerized by not only her appearance, but by her emotions. He felt that now he had found such an exquisite vampire, it would severly pain him if they ever had to part ways. Jasper was not optimistic . . . he did not think that he was lucky enough to be with this woman for the rest of his eternal life. His life had not been that fortunate.
He did not know where they were going. And it suddenly occurred to him that he did not even know her name. Whatever name it was . . . surely it was perfect. If he ever found the words to ask, he would. The silence in which they traveled in was not an awkward or intense silence. It was a very peaceful one. It was part of the reason he did not want to spout off questions . . . he was not curious enough . . . he just wanted to go with her.
"May I ask your name?" He finally spoke. He needed to know her name so that he could say one word . . . the only word . . . that he could refer to her as. Any other adjective was not enough; they all lacked meaning when it came to her. Beautiful . . . gorgeous . . . exquisite . . . all these words were inadequate.

"May I ask your name?"
Curiousity seeped into Alice's gaze. Turning to face him, she suddenly stopped, and noticed his gaze. It was not a harsh, or hating gaze. More of the opposite. As she took in his appear in a new perspective, she found him quiet attractive. Perhaps he thought the same? Maybe that was why he was gazing at her? She didn't know, and didn't plan to make assumptions. "Alice." she whispered, her eyes locked on his.
"And may I ask yours?" she said, a bit louder, trying not to fade off. Her feelings for him were equivocal at this point, but her gaze could not, and would not pull away from his. She had stopped walking, the hunt for a less human populated place forgotton. A smile crept to her face constantly, not allowing her to seem anything but happy. Of course she was happy. She was always happy. Finally against consious of her hand and his interwinned down by their legs, Alice began to seemingly shrink together, if it was possible to get any shorter. She would be blushing now, if she could.

He stopped with her. Their destination was unknown to him so he was merely following her direction. Right now though, it seemed highly appropriate to stop. He ignored everything about this dismal place, and it had suddenly become wonderful to him the moment his eyes had rested on her in the diner.
Alice. It was a lovely name indeed. It seemed to fit her absolutely perfectly. Then again . . . as he had previously mentally established, there was nothing imperfect about her. It was absolutely impossible to see or find any negative quality about this woman. "Jasper Whitlock Ma'am." He felt rude for not having told her . . . but had she already known his name, and was simply being polite by asking now? He did not want to doubt her in any way, so would not question what knowledge she possessed about their meeting. He did however want to know more about her . . . anything he possibly could. But how could he ask without sounding impolite? His tone could be gentle indeed, but his words could sound tedious to answer. He did not want to cause her any discomfort.
"And if I may further inquire . . . were you aware of my arrival at the diner, prior to it occurring?" He already regretting her question. "I apologize if it may be something you are not comfortable with discussing." Jasper was slowly starting to talk more, but his awe by her in no way declined.

Jasper. It suited the man well, for he was not something you found on the streets, or in her case, in a small diner everyday. Jasper, though Alice again. Trying to listen to his question, but failling to concentrate on anything other than his actual appearence, and existance infront of her, Alice nodded slightly to an unknwon question. Finally it came back to her, and she said, "I was. And I am fine."
Alice was shocked by his curtosy and kindness. You didn't find many men who were that way around here. Most were shady and reserved. Not that Alice was particularly looking. "Um." Studdering for something to say, the girl continued blankly. "Where you heading somewhere in particular, Jasper?" His name felt weird, and unfirmilar upon her lips, but it went over smooth, as if she had said it a thousand times before. The realization of him leaving to wherever it was he was heading shocked, then stunned her. Would he leave? No. He couldn't. She was being selfish, and didn't want him to ever leave. She didn't want him to ever let go of her hand. To never stop staring at her the way she did him.

Her answer to his question made him more curious . . . but he did not press the matter. If she wished to tell him more, he would gladly hear it but he did not want to dumbly question her. He would remain respectful and not push for answers. Besides, for some reason they seemed so unimportant right now. He was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he had found her -- or more accurately, she had found him -- and they had an instant bond, as if they were supposed to have met and supposed to be together.
Her next question was asked with what he identified as surprise . . . and perhaps reluctance for him to depart. Was it true that she felt the same strong connection that he did? That it was not just him who did not want to leave her? That perhaps . . . she felt the same way. "No where in particular," he answered courteously and was mentally formulating how to accurately state his next words. "I was in fact, hoping to head in the same direction as you." It was his way of saying I wish to go with you without sounding quite so cheesy about it. The emotions he was sensing from her though . . . gave him a bit more confidence and reassurance that she wanted him to go with her.
[Sounds perfect.]

No where in particular. Alice echoed his words in her head.
I was in fact, hoping to head in the same direction as you.
At this Alice smiled widely. He didn't want to leave her? This lifted her mood greatly from the spiraling doom she felt just a few seconds ago. Ok, that was over asaggerating, but still! "I would be glad to have you travel with me." If only I knew where it was I wanted to go, the girl added silently to herself. Suddenly, the sight of Jasper disappeared from her vision, as another appeared.
It was one of a family, which she quickly identified as vampires. Her curiousity grew hugely as she realized how big the family actually was. There was a young couple, the man was blonde, and the woman looked.. red, maybe? Their eyes were strangely golden. The same was for their seemingly vampire son, who had curly bronze hair. Next, Alice spotted another couple, a beautiful young blonde woman with a strong, friendly looking man. The last couple made Alice smile. There stood her and Jasper, holding hands again, greeting them all outside a large house with many windows. It was a strange vision that made Alice immediately think they were supposed to meet these people.
Returning to the present, Alice realized she would have been out of it for a least a minute. This could have worried Jasper, because he didn't know she could see the future. As her sight came back, she stood staring at him,a crease in her forehead, but a slight smile on her lips. The scene was both disturbing, and inspiring. Waiting for Jasper to comment on her apparently zoned out state, Alice stood still. Nervous.

The fact that his mere words made her smile so much gave Jasper great pleasure. He knew that he wanted to do whatever he could to make her as happy as possible. It was not difficult though. She was already a very positive person and that was easy to establish upon first meeting her . . . whether he could sense her emotions or not, she expressed her joviality a great deal.
"Do we know where it is we are traveling?" He asked. He did not want to pressure her by demanding a destination. He would gladly wander aimlessly through the entire earth with her. He did not need a destination. He would be a nomad if that was what she wanted . . . and he would take each step with extreme joy.
Jasper's question was answered with silence. Something was not right. He looked at her, this time concernedly. Could she not hear him? Had he said something wrong? He could not read anything from her . . . not her feelings . . . not her expression. It was entirely blank. "Alice?" He asked. What was happening? Had their meeting been this short lived?
Though it had only been a minute . . . it felt like an eternity since he could not bear having this painful fear that something had happened to her. When she looked at him once again . . . her smile returned, but it was not her most dominating emotion. "Alice . . . " He began, his tone filled with worry. "Are you alright?" He could not phrase it less bluntly than he did. He was worried and he did not have time to work on the way he asked. Whether it was rude or not . . . he did not know. All he wanted to know was whether she was alright or not.

Alice was right. She had worried him deeply. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Alice replyed. "I'm fine. That happens more than you know." Slowly, her mis-shaped smile began to clear out into her normal one, but her vision was still planted in her head. "Um." Studdered Alice, no exactly sure how to bring this out. "Have you heard of others like us having un-normal abilities?" This was harder than she thought. What if he thought of her as a freak for being able to see the future? What if he left her because of it. Fear gripped Alice's unbeating heart as she stared at him, awaiting his answer.

Jasper was both relieved but still concerned as she admitted that this was a frequent occurrence for her. Maybe the experience was not a painful one . . . maybe it was a natural process for her and he had just completely misunderstood. There were a lot of things he did not know . . . maybe this was something that he should not be so quick to judge. When she asked her question, he sensed a new emotion from her: fear. She should not be afraid . . . she should never be afraid. His need and want to protect was extremely strong and so whether it be protecting her from him, he would do whatever was necessary to keep her safe.
"I have heard of others who possess supernatural abilities, yes." Was she asking him if he had one? He did . . . of course he did, but he wondered if now was the appropriate time to bring it up. He would wait until she vocalized the reason behind her question. She may have a gift . . . is that was this was about? He watched her intently, eagerly awaiting her answer but showed sign of patience . . . as if he could stand there forever, waiting for her to speak.

[cheesy, sorry]
Making the choice that he had a right to know, Alice continued. "What you just saw was me going into a state of blacking out, or seeing something not there. Seeing the future, actually." Her voice trailed off to almost a whisper as she said the last word. Future. It was a word some feared, yet she had been forced to embrace it. Suddenly realizing how silly it was to fear telling him that, Alice felt dumb. Why would he run over that? Relief flooded through the young woman before she even heard his response to the statement.
Lifting her gaze of which had been adverted to the forest floor, Alice shone her brillantly dull amber eyes on Jasper. He should not run, she realized. There was no reason to. She suddenly felt an urge to tell him everything, but kept it to a minimum. "I saw a family, a coven really." Wonder refilled Alice as she began to remember the family-coven. It was strange how she seemed to know them in her vision. How she acted as if they were so firmilar. Perhaps she saw the scene of which took place after they duo had met the family. These thoughts filling her head again, Alice slowly began to look up, a thinking expression on her face.

[Not cheesy at all.]
Seeing The Future.
Could it be? Was that really possible? Ever since Jasper had been exposed -- or introduced would be the more accurate word -- to the world of vampires and paranormal, things seldom seemed impossible. If Alice said that she could see the future . . . then he completely believed her. But how did it work . . . would she get small glimpses of the future as she had just now? He did not ask all of the questions he wanted to . . . he hoped there would time for that -- since he did not plan on leaving her any time soon unless of course that was what she wanted, though it would never be what he wanted.
She was experiencing an array of emotions and Jasper felt he was feeling them at the same time . . . though one he had that perhaps was not so strong in her was confusion and curiosity. He continued to listen politely as she went on to describe a coven. "This coven . . . it serves a significant purpose to . . . you and I?" To us was what he really wanted to say, but did not want to leap to conclusions in case she did not feel entirely comfortable with the word 'us' being associated with him. He did not want to ruin this chance he had with her . . . and so was taking very slow, very small steps . . . for now anyway.
"But, you are alright?" He found himself asking the question again. Perhaps the concern he had did not completely subside despite the reassurances he had given her about the frequency of it. He still worried for her . . . he hoped these . . . visions did not hurt her in any way, or were not painful to endure. And because of that possibility, he had to question her well being once again.

"This coven . . . it serves a significant purpose to . . . you and I?"
Alice's gaze adverting back to the man before her, she responded, "Yes. It does. You and I were in my vision as well." Alice smiled lightly. He had said 'you and i'. This obviously meant he did not mean to leave. He, also, didn't seem completely freaked about her seeing the future. That was good. It made Alice more confident to continue. "Yes. I am fine. They do not bring any pain."
"What I saw was different. The coven had golden eyes because of their diet. I too have recently taken to it. They only feed off animal blood." For some reason, Alice did not feel the need to keep anything from Jasper. But the fact of overwelming him was also in mind. One step at a time, she had to remind herself.

He took solace in the fact that she reassured him it was not painful for her. Surely that made it easier for her . . . if she did not have to dread the pain associated with each vision. Everything began to neatly fall into place. It made sense . . . since she saw the future, then it would certainly explain how she knew of his arrival, before he knew of it himself. He was about to ask if they were always accurate, but hesitated. That sounded too accusatory. He wanted to make it sound less harsh . . . not wanting to sound as if he was doubting her abilities in any way. He suddenly became distracted from his mental formulation of a response when she mentioned something unfamiliar.
A diet. An animal blood diet. Was there . . . such a thing? Moments ago he would have been completely confident by saying no. But now . . . he was not sure. He believed her -- of course -- but at the same time, did not fully understand the concept.
"How . . . " No no, that was a stupid question. "Animal blood is adequate for survival?" Maybe it was a stupid thing to ask . . . but this concept . . . it was something he had never heard of, but something that would be perfect for him. He wanted to stop drinking human blood for complex reasons, too difficult to explain to the average vampire. Of course he would explain them to Alice. She was not an average vampire. And her honesty only encouraged him to return the favor. "What else did you witness in your vision? Are we meant to go to them?" He hoped his assumption in stating that they were to go . . . together . . . was not too great of one to make. He would wait and see if there was any hesitation in her accepting the term 'we'.

Alice waited as Jasper seemed to be debating something in his mind. Finally he asked about the animal blood diet, and Alice said, "Yes. It's not as filling or satisfying as human blood though, but you can survive off it." Alice felt like she barely knew what she was talking about, but her changing to this diet had given her some input on this issue. As the talking suddenly went from animal blood to her vision again, Alice couldn't help but smile.
She thought little of the word 'we', as if he had been saying that the whole time. "Well. I saw the coven, and then I saw us greeting them." Alice's forehead wrinkled again as she tried to figure out what exactly that was supposed to mean. They didn't know them. Yet, she guessed. But still. Why would her visions tell her of after the meeting before seeing the first? Or maybe that was the first.. The small woman's mind was buzzing with many different thoughts, the same emotion though was throughout it all. Confusion.

Jasper suddenly felt guilty for asking her so many questions . . . especially when he sensed that she was equally as confused as he was. Her visions were probably as difficult for her to understand as they were for her to explain. He should not be pressuring her for answers. "Do you know exactly where this coven resides?" Maybe they could discover more about them together . . . or maybe she would recieve more visions on the way there. He did not know how it worked, so he was only assuming and as he previously decided, he did not wish to interrogate her on things she may not want to go into great detail in for the time being.
Jasper's incentive to go was primarily based on Alice's company, but it was also the idea of feeding on something other than humans. The idea that there were possibilities of surviving, but not killing humans just seemed too perfect. This was what he had been searching for all of his immortal life. She was what he had been searching for all of his immortal life. How had he lived so long without her? It made it even more challenging for him to accept what he had done when he was with Maria . . . all of those horrible things. He would have to explain them to Alice. He already felt as if he was lying to her . . . deceiving her by not revealing his ability. But he was far more interested in learning more about her . . . rather than telling her about him. It was just something he would have to do. Something he needed to do.

His question suddenly caught her off guard. She didn't. How could she? And this made her irritated. What good were her visions if she had no idea where they were to take place? The background was just the house. And forest. Perhaps they were an offical coven? Perhaps she should look for their names, and that way they could look into reconds to find them. Shouldn't be too hard. "Honestly, I don't." Admitted Alice.
"But I have a couple of ideas on how I could find out." stated the girl, pretty sure he could figure out what she was meaning. There was no need to baby him. He was intellegent. He would get it. They would possibly have to break into school records, hospital records, etc. It was unlikely they'd find much, but they had to be somehow in with the soceity. Somehow...

When she became irritated, he felt even worse as his fear of pressuring her returned, more strongly than before. He would have apologized, but her next statement intrigued him. This would most certainly be an interesting journey . . . it had already begun from the moment he saw her in the diner. From feeling despair and hopelessness this morning . . . it had turned out to be the best day of his entire existence.
"Did your visions reveal their names?" He asked her. It was of no fault of her own if she did not know them. He wanted to express that . . . to show her that it was alright if she did not fully understand her visions. He wanted to show her that she would never mislead him in any way, and he did not even mind if they never met this coven. He just wanted to stay with her. That much was certain in his mind.

Alice racked her brain for more information on the coven, yet nothing came to mind. Not even their names. Shaking her head, and frowning, Alice said, "The scene was like a few seconds long, or at least it seemed like it. It was more muted than anything, so there wasn't a conversation going on." And then it was gone. The vision was over, and Alice was left to wonder what the heck she had just seen. It was fustrating. To not be able to give more answers.
"I only saw two couples and a young boy, but by their appearence and surroundings you could tell they are one of us. They all looked so young, surely they could not go unnoticed for long, and therefore they'd have to blend in with society or they'd stick out even more." Alice was calculating all of her answers as she blurted them out. She was right of course. They could hide, but they'd be discovered eventually. And what would be the point of feeding off animals if they weren't going to end up exposing themselves to humans? However much Alice wanted to believe her theory, something always seemed to be possible in proving her wrong. Therefore, the girl stood there babbling to herself about all the possibilities.

No wonder she felt irritated. Catching a few glimspes of something so important, but so vague must be highly frustrating. Jasper admired her for the strength she had to do this. Though she did not quite have a choice about seeing these visions . . . she had the ability to choose whether she acted on them or not, and she did act on them. It was admirable indeed. It made him even more taken by her -- if that was possible at this point -- .
"We will find them." As she had stated . . . how difficult could it be? "Were you given enough information to determine if they were nomadic, or if they were settled in one location?" He made sure to ask the question in such a way so that he expressed he was aware she did not have control over it. He may not know a lot about it . . . but he knew enough to know that. "If you do not mind me asking Alice . . . how frequent are your visions?" This question was not asked to mask any impatience he had to gain more information. He was genuinely curious.

Nodding happily to Jasper, Alice said, "I sure hope so." As he continued on with another question, Alice frowned and tilted her head to the side in a thinking manner. "Well.. They seemed pretty fond of the house behind them, so I would guess they stay in one location, at least for a little while." It was likely they moved around every couple of years or more to make sure their secret is unknown by humans.
His last question was a little bit harder to answer. "I suppose they come... very often. I can channel them to a degree when i concentrate, but if it's something important.. it just comes.." Alice seemed utterly dumb-founded by how her visions worked. They were a mystery to her as well. Even after 47 years of them, even as a human.

"Then there should be no trouble in finding them." If Alice wanted to find them . . . he would do everything in his power to help her. That much he was sure of. "It is a very interesting gift. I have never met another vampire who possesses such a skill," he told her, expressing his admiration for what she could do. "I hope it is not a burden for you."
Jasper knew his own abilities were not a burden for him. He used them when he could, but at other times . . . ceased from doing so. Ever since he had allowed Maria to manipulate him, he had been reluctant to use emotional influence on others because he did not see a great deal of good coming from them. They did however encourage him to want to want to stop drinking human blood . . . that was worth something. Even if it was hard to bare feeling what they did at the time . . . it motivated him to strive for an alternate lifestyle. He did not want to be a monster for all his eternal life.

Alice nodded and said, "Not too hard." Listening intently to Jasper praise her gift, Alice sighed. "It's not a burden to one of us." Alice had been careful to say this sentence specifically. She really didn't remember her human life, and had no idea if she even had them when she was human. But if she didn't remember, she didn't know that it wasn't. All of these thoughts swirled around in her head, and confusion took over yet again.
But for more reasons than one. "So you've met other vampires with skills?" He had said 'such as yours'. Did that mean he knew others? As far as she goes, Alice had never met another talented vampire. To tell the truth, she's barely seen other vampires other than herself and a few wonderers. And none of them were as magnificent as the one infront of her.
