Jasper was on his way to run an errand for Renesmee. He did not go to Bella's house often, especially considering the fact that Bella no longer lived here . . . and it was just Charlie. But his niece had something to give him, something that she did not want merely left in the mailbox. So once Jasper did not see Charlie's car in the driveway, so he decided to wait a few moments before he left and tried to come back at a more convenient time.
As he seated himself on the steps, he caught a wolfy scent in the air, and that forced him to immediately stand up. But once he recognized that it was only Leah, he relaxed a bit . . . but just a bit. Why was she coming to Bella's house, to see Charlie?

Leah was running. She was always running. Turning into a wolf and running as hard as she could was the best way to work out any angers in her. And, OH, she she ever have angers. She couldn't seem to lose the temper that came with the wolf. The harder she tried, the greater she failed. When her noise found a Jasper scent this deep with in Forks, she paused and moved near the edge of the woods. Why was he at the Swans? She moved deeper into the woods, and then changed.
Leah hated being naked int he woods. Once never got used to the feeling and it annoyed her. Annoyance turned to anger. Great! Just friggin' great. There was one sure way to make her anger feel better and that was make fun of someone. Rumor had it Jasper had a new friend.
Leah walked out of the woods pulling leaves out of her hair. She wore jean shorts and a tank top even though it wasn't a overly warm day. No shoes. Leah loved shoes. Figures they were the hardest to carry as a wolf. "Boo." She said casually, as she approached.

"Leah," he greeted as he saw her reveal herself from the woods. His nose was constantly adjusting to the wolf smell that she gave off, and since they were in each other's company rather frequently (considering they were meant to be sworn enemies), he was getting more and more used to it. He did not cringe as much any more. That, or he just did not breathe.
"What brings you to the Swan residence today?" He asked, wondering if she was really here to see Charlie, of if she had just come because she smelled him, and had was bored. He seemed to be a good scapegoat for boredom. Though he had grown used to her juvenile self. Sometimes, it even rubbed off on him.

"You blonde." She said with a ironic laugh. "I smelled you and came to ask you the same question." She moved close enough to stand there, a few feet back so not to have to smell him. Out here it wasn't so bad but trapped in a elevator with him she'd die slowly. "What are YOU doing at the Swan house? Waitin' for ya new buddy? huh? huh?" She grinned and wondered how he would react to her joking. She hit on allot of topics when trying to annoy him but she had stopped badmouthing Alice and most the Cullens. She would jokes about the Cullen, but not Alice. Leah had her own soft spots. She didn't let up when it came to his 'younger brother'. (Mostly due to how annoying the mind reader was).

"I would hardly call Charlie Swan my buddy," Jasper explained, not quite sure what she had meant by that insinuation. He decided that it was just better to explain his reason for being here, for he was certain she would continue to tease him about . . . well, whatever it was she was teasing him about. "Renesmee wanted me to drop off a package to her, so I am waiting for him to return. However, if he does not come soon, then I may have to return at a more convenient time."
He was thankful for the distance between them, though he was getting used to her smell . . . and the general smell of wolves. Still, it was better than her being too close, especially after they had just recently phased. "What is your reason for being here? Unless it was just to inquire my reason for being here . . . "

"Oh I am here for you. Baby doll." Leah said as she watched him. She had a grin on her face that suggested things. "I was speaking of you human friends but Swans are more solitary. I was speaking of your. . . . wolf-like relastion---" OK, now she was starting to sound like him, Damn it. "Rachael." Leah grin. "You know, I think it's a good thing. I think, -honestly- that it's a good pair." ONLY because it pissed off Paul. If it wasn't for Paul Leah might worry Jasper would bite Rachael. However, she was willing risk it to annoy Paul. . . .(And maybe she had some level of faith in Jasper).

Did she just call him . . . baby doll? What a strange nick name. Oh . . . darn. She knew about Rachael. He was not trying to hide his friendship with the human . . . he had just not wanted Leah to find out about this, because after knowing her for so long, this reaction was to be expected of her. "We share common interests," he explained. He was not trying to justify anything to her . . . he was just trying to explain -- which was different in Jasper's opinion. "You truly think that our friendship is . . . as you put it, good? Why is that?" He did not understand her if she was not being sarcastic about this.

"Why? Use your head Spazzie, It's good for a few reasons. The main for for me, is it pisses the hell out of Paul. . . You recall Paul, yes? The big burly temper one who almost had it out with your sister when her over sized hubby crossed the line." Leah explained things in her own way. She let that sat there a moment before making up for insulting everyone he knew, "Besides, She always reminded me of you. With held, big words, and didn't rise to any name calling I tossed out. I image your conversations are . . . simulating." That was sarcastic.

Jasper just looked at Leah. "She is sophisticated, and we share common interests." He was not justifying his friendship with her. He was merely explaining it in words that did not sound like they were spoken from an immature individual, which is what Jasper felt like Leah was currently being. "Her maturity is perhaps something you could learn from." If Leah was going to insist on ridiculing their friendship, then he would insist on explaining why they got along so well . . . without mentioning that he was a writer and that was the pretenses under which they met.

"Oh yes, she is real mature." Leah said sarcastically. "Have you meet La Push's village idiot? Paul Moron?" She said his name wrong on purpose. "The over sized, and brainless eating machine? She is having his little brainless eating machines! More then one! She is practicably birthing the next pack!" Which Leah would die before admitting she was jealous as hell about. Stupid baby breeders, stupid Paul. "How mature could she been around a guy who litterly couldn't keep his pants on, with out ripping them to shreds?"

Jasper could feel her jealousy, but made no acknowledgment to it. If she wanted to suppress those emotions, then he would not vocalize them. "Clearly, you have some issues with the man she chose to be with. That does not mean she is unintelligent. It means that you do not like the man she is committed to. And is is quite happy with her life and family." Jasper knew Rachael was happy; he could feel it whenever they spent time together. "Your judgmental remarks only further proves how much more mature she is."

"Dude, Sazster, don't get your panties in a twist!" Leah snapped out, annoyed he was calling her immature. Just because he was old fashioned and didn't know how to have fun, didn't mean she was immature! "Your entitled to your own opinion, in case you forgot with your old man brain, we won war agisnt the British! We are a free country now." Leah made cracks on his age. She didn't comment on Alice much anymore, she knew there were some topics they didn't crack on. Sam was her's, Alice was his.

"In any event, my point stands. You merely act in a more juvenile way than Rachael does. She is quite an interesting person. One of the most interesting humans I have met in a long time." Apart from Bella of course. The only difference was that it was easier to resist Rachael because of the wolf smell . . . Bella was an entirely different story. "As I said before, she and I share common interests. I enjoy her company . . . unlike some." The fact that he had developed a friendship with Leah was becoming a little more evident by his sarcasm. He would have to control it. He did not want to sound like . . . . her. He needed to get a better grip on which emotions he chose to imitate.
