for a while, But in time... Nothing can harm you Not while I'm around...
Not to worry, not to worry I may not be smart but I ain't dumb I can do it, put me to it Show me something I can overcome Not to worry.
It was early morning, about 7:30am or 8:00am. Most kids living here in Forks, were still at home fast asleep, of course they had done way to much 'partying' last night, so that was expected. Today being a Saturday and all, most teenagers were recovering from the night before. It looked as if the whole town was empty, not a single person on the roads. The sun was hidden behind the clouds, but it was a relatively nice day out for forks.
So when a small girl, looking to be about 10 or so, pulled open the large doors to Forks library, she was not expecting to see a few older people scanning the shelves of books. Looks like she was not the only one up at this hour. The librarians were a little shocked to see such a girl, with out a parent, but it was Forks after all. Nothing 'bad' happen in this small town.
Renesmee was not in school, well the story was she was home schooled... seeing as she grew so fast, she was kept at home really. People were not allowed to see her, not until she reached her full growth, so a few more years to go. People would talk if they saw Bella with a baby one day and a toddler the next. Renesmee was aware of this rule, but she just wanted some new books to read. She had already read the massive amounts of books her father owned... she was just ready for something new. Also she wanted to get out of the house.
Renesmee like reading. She like her parents read for fun, shocker! Unlike most of her mental peers she finds enjoyment out of reading a good book. So every morning as soon as she woke up, she would grab the closest book and just read until she was told otherwise. It was a little hard for her to read when she was at the main house, seeing as her family never really slept and it could get a little loud in there, and Renesmee was easy distracted she got that trait from her father. Also her parents deserved some more alone time. So she figured she would find her way to the library, the one she herd so much about. Renesmee was a very smart girl, so figuring out how to get there was not very hard. Yeah it was a very long walk... But Renesmee ran part of the way... and if her parents found out she might be locked away forever. Like her father she was fast... faster then any human, yet slower then most vampires.
Renesmee had a large smile on her little face as she saw the rows and rows of books. Her eyes just lit up with excitement. Where could she start? There were so many books... With a little sigh she went right for the first shelve of books, and pulled the first one, it was a child's books. lame! So she placed it back a little disappointed. Well she would try something more toward the back. She figured maybe the reading level got higher the further back you went? So she walked down a few isles and pulled a book of the shelf, it look promising, so she oped to a random page and read a few lines, it looks alright.
Yeah she knew she would get into some big trouble later, but it was worth it, she thought to herself. This place was AMAZING! She has never seen so many books in once place before. Her family's collection was close yes, but still. Renesmee curled up in a little ball in the back of the library with the very book she picked up. She was pretty much hidden from the people here, no one would see her, unless they looked.
Renesmee was in a ten year olds little body, so she could fit in small places. She sat between two shelf's reading. Maybe she would get in less trouble if no one really saw her? So far she was doing well, only one or maybe two librarians saw her, but they did not look as if they knew who she was. So that was good.
Renesmee knew what her parents would say. it would be something like, Nessie, you know better! I cannot believe you would do such a thing. Put our family in danger like that... blah blah blah. Well she was tired of it. She was part human, so why not? Yeah she grew fast, but that was just it. she grew too fast! No human would catch that. no one would make the connection... seeing as she was never really out before. So no one knew her. It was like she was a random child visiting... She knew how to dumb herself down anyway. She could talk like a ten year old. Or well she would try to act like the young people she saw on TV.
Renesmee tried to shake the thought from her mind before beginning to read her new book. It was rather odd, but a book is a book, no matter what it was. It was new and exciting, so why not. there were very few pictures in this book, and the text was small, just how she liked it. Turned out she picked up a book all about the world and different cultures. Perfect!

(Being she looks 8 in our other thread, and 10 in this one, I am going to assume they are friends.)
Leah walked into the place shortly after Ness did. She walked in slipping on her shoes and looking around. This was was small compared the La Push one. It made her proud of her town. While she had not been in hers but once or twice you took your kicks were you could find them. Forks was still vamp grounds in her mind and any time La Push topped it she was happy.
Walking back to fins Ness, Leah took in a deep breath and followed the smell of the human half of her, (Which was better then the vamp half). When she found Ness she grinned. "I was on my rounds and though I. . . crossed your path," Smelled her. "I didn't know they let you in town on your own." Much less at all. Leah at lest looked old enough to be walking around on her own. Nessie just looked like something people stole off the streets because she was so pretty. Leah felt bad for anyone who kidnapped Ness.

Renesmee was just so bewildered by how many books where here, she did not even realize she was being followed by Leah. The library was so quiet, Renesmee really should have at least felt Leah approach her, maybe she was just lost in the book she held in her lap. Or maybe she was just not paying any attention to what was going on.
Renesmee barley 5 pages into the book, was interrupted. In fact she jumped a little, closing the book with a large snap, when Leah spoke. It was an odd reaction, but Leah did scare little Renesmee. "What? Oh...ughh.." Renesmee said, her cheeks growing red hot, as she spoke. "Yeah, I don't think I am aloud to be here... but I just... had to come." Renesmee said in her sing song voice, a little higher then normal. She was caught and she knew it. At least Leah caught her. That was much better then any of the Cullen's or Jacob.
At least Leah would not yell at her... "I don't think they know I am gone yet..." Renesmee said under her breath, a little ashamed. She was playing the 10 year old part now. She was not herself, she was trying to be what she thought she should be in public, it would make things better. "I know I'm not aloud to be out... but I really could not help myself.... I mean I've never seen so many books in my life!" Renesmee said looking past Leah and around at the shelves upon shelves of books that surrounded her. "Bel- My mom brings home so many books for me to read, just... I never got to pick them out before...and..." Renesmee said cutting herself off... she was taking this a little too far. This just made her face grow hotter then before. Still she did not met Leah's eyes.

"Yeah yeah, I totally get it. I didn't invent rebelling but I perfected it." Leah walked around Ness so she could sit on the floor near her chair. "If you don't mind, I am going to hang out with you." Mainly so she could make sure nothing happened to her. Ness didn't have as near bad luck as her mother but you never knew what was passed down.
Plus, Leah liked little Ness. For a half vampire she was sort of fun to hang out with. Leah liked to try to currup her and teach her things that drove her parents or Jake crazy. "Your secret is safe with me. . . Until I phase again, then Jake knows all." Leah looked at the book, "What are you reading?"

"Ugh. If you want to. But you know Jake is going to kick your butt for this." Renesmee said, looking a little ashamed of her-self. "I don't want you to get in trouble or anything..." She added quickly. Renesmee really was not one for getting people in trouble, if she did the guilt would nearly kill her.
"I mean... I guess if you leave Jake will be more mad at you..." Renesmee said really to herself, it was true. Renesmee was already out and if Leah saw her then left her alone, Jake would really go at it with Leah. That was the last thing she wanted. "Oh my book?" Renesmee said flipping it to the side a little so she could read the spine. "Its just a book about the world.. and different cultures and stuff... It's really cool...Well so far. I only got 4 or 5 pages into it before you came." Renesmee said. Looking at the book she really probably should be looking at a book more her 'age' but they were just so boring... She really hated books with pictures, well children books. She never did get into those kinds of books.
Renesmee remembered when she was really little, which was not that long ago. Her mother, Bella, Started to read a book to her, but Renesmee already knew how to read, so she asked for the book, which Bella gave to her, and Renesmee just started reading. Bella almost ran out of the room, but sadly Renesmee's book was taken away and Bella was reading, saying to her that she would never be able to get to bed if she read her own bed time story. It was hard to surprise her mother now. Every thing she did was so advanced Bella really, almost expected it.

No one was going to believe the sight of a ten year old reading that book. Leah would have said something but, she had never been the type to help the Cullens lay low, and even less the type to ruin Ness' pleasure in reading. Looking at the book, it was advance reading. Leah simply smiled. "You plannin' on traveling any time soon?" She asked sounding casual.
It wasn't a casual statement. Leah was one of the few who was in the Cullen 'need to know' group. If they were thinking of leaving the area Jake would go, and being it was stay in La Push or get free of Sam, Leah would follow. "Since your free for the day, maybe we should go all out. Have some real fun. . . or as much fun as the state will let a ten year old." Leah teased.

"I wish I could travel!" Renesmee said with a smile. "I know we will have to leave forks in a few years, but I don't really know when we are going. My mom really likes it here, and so does the rest of the family. So I don't think we will be leaving anytime soon." Renesmee said with a bit of a shrug. She liked it here too. This was her home, the place she knew from the second she was born. If she left, if her family left she knew her grandfather Charlie would not be able to come with them. Just the thought of that made he a little sad. But that was part of her life. Charlie was only human so he would die in the coming years, and Renesmee would just have to deal with it. He would always be apart of her family, but that was the problem with humans.
"What do you mean?" Renesmee said getting out of her little sad thought process. Fun... well that was...fun. "I just don't want you to get in trouble! Maybe I should call my parents... or Jacob..." Renesmee said pulling out her little cell phone that was in her pocket. Of course if you were a Cullen you had to have a cell phone. And Renesmee was no different. She was one spoiled little girl. Though Renesmee was not a big fan off all the stuff she had, she just liked the people in her life, that's what made her happy.
"I mean.... I what did you have in mind? I don't really get out much...Sooo...." Renesmee said with a little smile. Leah was rubbing off on her. That may not have been a good thing. Renesmee was always the kind of person to follow the rules, no matter what. But lately she's been walking off the track a little. Maybe it was her friendship with Leah who knew. All she knew is she hated getting in trouble, but sometimes it was worth it, like now for example.

Leah grinned. "We can go to the movies, go to a real city and a real book store." Leah looked around this place. "We can shop, or hang out in the park." She would have suggested hunting but even with Jake's help Leah hated eating raw meat. It was just plan horrible. "We can go out to eat. I am sort of hungry."
"I am not worried about getting into trouble. If they say anything to you about it, tell them I kidnapped you and wouldn't let you leave." She laughed softly at that thought. It might have worked but the mind reader would know. Still, she rather take the blame. She wasn't the type to let it get to her.

Tracking down Renesmee really wasn't that hard, did she really think she could hide from him? He was always one step behind her, keeping a very close eye on what she was doing, and now was no exception. Sure, this seemed a little like stalking someone - seemed pretty nasty, if you asked Jacob here - but he only did it to be sure that Nessie was alright and that she would come back home to Bella and Edward in one piece. Edward would rip his throat out if she didn't, he knew that, and he didn't know what he himself would do if anything was to happen to the girl. Of course, it didn't seem that likely of Renesmee to get hurt when she was living in Forks yet still, she was Bella's daughter and Bella was known to be a magnet of trouble. Maybe Nessie had inherited this wonderful little gift of Bellas. Jacob sure hoped not - He loved Bella, but that little trait of hers was slightly tireing. Luckily enough, Bella was now a shiny bloodsucker, just like her husband, and no longer vulnerable to anything dangerous.. Except fire.
Anyway, watching over Renesmee was like watching over Bella when she had been human only he was much more anxious now then with Bella. Nessie was his imprint, it would only be normal that he would want to protect her and be worried about her. She was so tiny and seemed so fragile with those rosy cheeks of hers, it was hard not be worried. He knew though, much to well, how strong she was. He skin was like that of a vampires and she was almost as strong as her father. Hell, she was much stronger then Jacob, and that was pretty freaky to experience though really fun at the same time - Hunting with Nessie was always the funnest, he didn't hunt much without her.
Seeing Leah suddenly enter the library, where Nessie had entered a few minutes before, made him worry and he managed to sneak through the doors as well - He wasn't very good at that, since he was so big an extremely noticable, but he hoped it had worked. Listening carefully, standing as close to them as possible, he frowned a bit on Leah's words and then on Nessies. Where were they thinking they were going? No longer being able to keep on hiding, he came out from his hiding place, behind a bookshelf, and stepped over to the two girl "Planning on going somewhere, girlies?," He asked of them, cocking his head to one side, looking down at Nessie. An impish smile appeared on his broad lips and he spoke again; "And without inviting me? Very offensive," He shrugged looking back at Leah "Seriously, where were you planning on taking her?"

"What do you mean a real book store?" Renesmee asked her eye brows pulled together a little, as if she was deep in thought. And she was. If this was 'not a real book store' then what the heck was? Surly a real book store would have more books then this? But was that even possible? How in the world did all theses books get here.... Renesmee had so many questions, and so little answers. "I want to see a real book store..." She said softly still thinking to herself. The rest of what Leah was saying went in one ear and out the other. Renesmee had gotten much to distracted to pay attention to what was going on around her, her mind was stuck on books. Her imagination was getting carried away.
Renesmee pictured a huge building, two or three times the size of this library, with multiple floors. Each floor was filled with shelf similar to theses here only, the selves reached the ceiling, and they were closer together making it hard to walk through. Each shelf was packed of books. Renesmee wanted to read them all. Wow. was all she could think. If only that place was real.
Then something kind of strange happen she herd Jake's voice in her little fantasize world. As soon as his voice registered with her she snapped out of it. "JACOB!" Renesmee squealed, a little to loud, and a little higher pitch then was really necessary. Renesmee scrambled to get the book off her lap and get herself in a standing position within seconds, moving a little faster then a human probably should. Good thing they were in the back of the library where nobody really was.
Once on her feet she ran, more like took a step or two, before wrapping her arms around Jacobs mid section and giving a rather hard squeeze, not hard enough to hurt him, but still it was once more harder then necessary. "Did you follow me here?" Renesmee said looking up and him wither her big brown eyes and her large smile. It was weird how Renesmee's face would just light up when she saw Jake. She just looked so much happier, so at peace with everything when Jake was around. Kind of sick, almost creepy like, but imprinting was a creepy thing sometimes. Renesmee really could not help it. She was still young so she really did not know how to handle all the love she had for him. But it will only take time for her to learn.

He shrugged looking back at Leah "Seriously, where were you planning on taking her?" "Yeah a real-" pause. Leah in haled deeply then keep speaking "-book store. It has seven or eight times as many books. You'll like." She heard Jacob speak and tease Ness and Leah sat there silently. When he spoke to her Leah shrugged. "Not home." It was almost weird the friendship that had became of Nessie and Leah. In a few more years, when Nessie looked about the same age as Leah, then it would at lest look normal.
Maybe it was because after being in Jake's head so long, Leah saw Nessie in a better light then the others. Maybe because Nessie was Jake's better half, Leah's wolf side couldn't be mean to her. Who knew. Leah only knew that she didn't mind spending a few hours here and there teaching to kid to stress out her parents like a normal teen.

He didn't hide his excitement from seeing Renesmee, just as she didn't hide hers. Her squeling his name, projecting such excitement to see him, that was the one thing that would make his day. She was such a cutie, Jake couldn't believe how much he loved this fragile-looking little girl. He smiled, opening his arms when she got up and jumped to his side. "Nessie!" He exclaimed, imitating her squel the best he could. Then he wrapped his arms around her tiny body "Ow, jeez, Ness. Take it easy, you're squezing the life outta me" He breathed, of course only joking. She really wasn't squeezing that hard, it was just a harmless hug.
He smiled at Nessie when she asked of him if she had followed him and he raised an eyebrow "You didn't think I would let you wander alone in Forks? With the possibility of you having your mothers tiny flaws, clumsyness. Nu-uh. Besides, your father would kill me if anything happened to you" He said, rolling his eyes slightly and then smiled at her "I just wanted to make sure you were okay" He said, letting a hand rest on her tiny head - stroking her curly brown hair, while at it.
Jacob then raised his eyebrow at Leahs answer "We're you planning on taking her out of Forks?" He asked, feeling like Edward or Bella right now. Jeez, he sound like her parent. Ugh, that was sick considering that they would, most likely, have romantic feelings for each other when Ness got older.

Leah grinned slightly evilly. "Yeah, you should come with us. . . Tell him Ness." Leah said using Jacob's weakness. "Tell him, he should come with us, and how we want to go to a real books store because you want to pick out your own books for once!" Leah was rather pleased with her self at the moment. She knew if Ness asked in even half as an excited voice as she had been when she saw Jake then he would have a devil of a time saying no. Ness had said she wanted to come here and pick out her own books for once.

Renesmee just laughed a little. "I'm not hurting you! Silly!" She said said shaking her head a little. He was one funny little big guy. Jacob was not at all little. It was a little funny to see, little Renesmee next to a huge guy. Funny sight. "But I didn't know you were watching me..." Renesmee said a little confused. Why would he watch her with out her knowing. It did not creep her out or anything. She just wanted to know where he was 24/7 it was not fair that he could watch her with out her knowing, yet she could not do the same. Maybe when she was older? Who knew. Only time would tell yet again.. this time thing was getting a little annoying.
"Wait.... so your really going to take me to the library Like the really really big one?" Renesmee asked a little confused. But the confusion only lasted a second. The next emotion was excitement. "Really really?" Renesmee asked her little face getting a little brighter. "Please Jake-ie! Please please please please can I go?" She asked, well more liked begged. "And your come too right? Please?!" She asked, breaking out the puppy dog eyes. Her little lower lip stuck out a little, only adding to the cuteness. "Pleeeaaaasseee!! JAKE!" Renesmee said bouncing a little. How could he say no? there was no way! It was perfectly safe, and he could totally come, so what was wrong with it? Plus they were out of Forks, so no harm could be done.

Oh, Leah was highly amused now. "Yes, Jake-ie, Please please!" She said in a higher pitched voice and amusement filling it. She was not mocking Ness, just copying her while trying as always to to annoy Jake. It was more in a friendly way then she used to. Before Jake let her get away from Sam, and she could heal, she had been well . . . a bitch. She knew it. She had hurt so bad, that she had lashed out at any form of kindness or happiness. Now she was happier, and free from her past. Not quite healed all the way, but unlike before, she could see a way. She wasn't drowning.

He smiled, patting her tiny little head. She grew so quickly, she already seemed a lot taller then yesterday evening, or even this morning. It was insane, really, but he didn't mind that much, she would always manage to stay his little Nessie. "No, of course you're not, you're to little for that," He teased her, as he kept on patting her little head. When he finally got tired of patting, he started to stroke her bronze shaded curls and then shrugged "That's the beauty about spying, Ness.. See, you're not supposed to know that I'm watching you because I'm spying," He smiled, once again, an impish kind of smile. "And, by the way, I'm always watching you," He winked at her and then let out a booming laughter. He quickly shut up though, as he understood he was being extremely loud - it was a bit tough controling such a strong voice sometimes, not his fault!
Suddenly the switched to talking about library's and the two girls lost him completely. Where were they planning on going? had Leah promised Nessie to take her to a library? Where? Forks didn't have much to offer and neither did La Push. Port Angeles? She had thought about going there with Nessie? Alone? Jacob frowned a bit upon this and then looked down at Nessie. She begged and pleaded for him to let her go and then said he would come to. You god damn right he would come to! He wasn't letting her go out of town alone, what would her father do to her if he was to let her do that? Not to speak about her mother, Bella. He would very much like to live a little longer.
He wanted to say no, really he did, because he knew he would be in trouble afterward, but he just couldn't say no to that pleading voice of his imprintee. He looked at Leah when she imitaded Renesmee "Not you too," He complained. He then swept Renesmee into the safety of his arms ans sighed "Fine!, Fine, we can go." He said, waiting for Nessie to burst into squealing once again. "But you're the one to get me out of trouble if I get into any, with your parents" He said, pressing a large index finger to her little nose.

"Your funny Jake-ie." Renesmee said with a small laugh. She put her little arms around his lower torso, giving him the biggest hug she could, with out hurting him. She kept her grip around him, yes she was quite short, and could not reach very far up, but she did her best. She looked up at him, her eyes still big with excitement "No, your not always watching me... you have to sleep sometimes!" Renesmee said with a larger smile on her face. Oh yes he had to sleep, and maybe when he fell a sleep she could find a way to watch him instead. Yes. That could work, she would find a way to do something like that. It would not be easy, but she would turn the tables one of these days.
"Really?! We can go?!" Renesmee said her eyes getting that much bigger, from her excitement. Then like Jake had predicted she started to squeal with excitement, though she tired to be quiet, it was not working out to well. "Really really?!?!" She said again, the biggest little smile on her face. "No no Jake-ie, you wont get in trouble!" Renesmee said wrapping her arms around his neck this time. Seeing as he picked her up, she could finally reach it. She pressed her hand to his face to show him what she wanted. Seeing as she had not word for it.
As soon as she touched his face, a strong feeling of gratefulness and love was pushed into Jake's head. She was truly happy, and Jake could tell. Renesmee wanted him to understand just how much she appreciate him. Yes she was glad she had her Jake. She was happy that he was all hers. And she too showed him all this. She patted him lightly on his cheek telling him that was all she had for him. Though Renesmee did not think of him in a romantic way yet, she still loved him like a brother. The best big brother EVER! With in the next few 'years' of her development that brotherly feeling would turn into something more romantic. Jake just had to wait a little longer.
