[/u][/center][/size][/font].:Look:. Carlisle is tall, with slightly defined muscles. He is thin looking, and like all other vampires has inhuman beauty. His eye color varies from a golden-brown shade similar to butterscotch, to pitch black which depends on how thirsty he is. He has golden blonde hair lighter than his eyes after he's hunted, that is often styled back in a old-ish style, but it is still stylish. He is a ghostly shade of pale white, and is muscled well which isn't quite as obvious as some vampires.

[/u][/center][/size][/font].:Basic Personality:. Carlisle is an extremely compassionate being, who is strongly against fighting. He is protective of his family and cares for most everyone's well being, and a skilled doctor. He has an extremely high level of restraint against the pull of human blood, so high he hardly even notices it. He will welcome anyone with welcome arms into his family, and does not reject those based on their species or anything else.
Along with his compassion, Carlisle is a loving man. He will do anything for his wife, Esme, or his children as long as it is a reasonable request. He loves his work deeply, and really puts himself into it. He is not the type of man that would give up because something is hard for him, and does not plan on becoming lazy any time soon. He lives his life to the highest he can.

.:History:. Carlisle Cullen was the son of a pastor, born outside of London, England in 1643. His mother died during birth, while his father pushed him forward to follow his footsteps. It was during a highly religious time in England, and they were repelled by vampires, witches, werewolfes, and anything similar to. People were often killed. When his father grew up, he was forced to take over the group. During one of the hunts, he was bitten by an actual vampire and left for dead.
Carlisle hated what he was strongly, and tried many different ways to kill himself. This included jumping off of cliffs, starving himself, walking into sunlight, and other myths. He stayed far away from civilization, terrified he might kill a human. He was in a cave, and was so bloody thirsty that he attacked and drained a whole herd of deer. He soon found that he could live off of the blood of animals instead of humans, and decided to take on thsi diet. He spent two whole centures just on perfecting his thirst.
During the two centures, Carlisle studied in Italy a bit. During his time in Italy, he came across the Volturi. He stayed with them for a while, and they tried to get him to switch over to the natural vampire diet. Their hopes for him to switch over failed, though they had miraculous control of their thirst around humans. After his time with the Volturi, Carlisle moved over the the New World. He traveled their for a while, and was in Chicago, Illinios with the Spanish Influenza epidimic happened.
While treating patients there, Carlisle did a dangerous thing by becoming attached to a dying woman named Elizabeth Masen. Her husband had already died of the Infleunza, and her son was dying along with her. Her death wish was for him to do anything within his power to save him. He had considered making a companion for years, and knew that since Edward had no one left and his mother wanted him to live, he changed him to become his new companion.
Three years later, Carlisle and Edward moved up to the state of Wisconsin. He treated Esme Evenson after she attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. He felt the need to save her after having treated her of a broken leg a few years previously. He changed her in the morgue as she had been presumed dead though her heart was beating. They soon fell in love, and were married. After a few more years for her to control her thirst, they moved up to Rochester, New York.
It was there that Carlisle turned a young woman named Rosalie Hale, who had beaten and raped by her drunk fiance and his group of friends. He found her because the scent of her blood was there since she was left in the street to die. He tried to save her without changing her, but had to change her anyway. Later on, his first 'daughter' found a young man named Emmett Cullen who was going to die because he was mauled by a bear. He changed him at Rosalie's request.
In the 1950s, not longer after they made the treaty with the Quileutues, they gained two more members of their coven. Alice and Jasper had found them, and joined them. They learned that Alice had seen them in a vision, and learned all about them. They accepted both Alice and Jasper, even with Jasper's bloody and painful past. The next time that Carlisle and his family moved back to Forks, Washington nearly sixty years later, his first 'son' Edward fell in love with a human named Isabella Swan.
Carlisle treated her many times for her injuries, and accepted her into his family with open arms. Later on they were forced to change her after she had became pregnant with a hybrid, therefore finally giving her a trully permanent place in the family. Though, he was not there during when she was bitten. After the confrontation with the Volturi about Renesmee, their family settled back down to live a more peaceful life.
