Aro saw Carmen he had seen her once or twice. She was Eleazar mate. Eleazar was very useful it was a shame he decide to leave them and because of Carmen. His talent was useful Aro would love to have it back, but he suppose he couldn't force him. So many talents were here tonight that he wanted. The Cullen's was a main group of talents he wanted. Mainly Alice, Edward, and Bella all talents he wanted. Aro had never thought of an ability to read the future, but now that he had he wanted it. Edward's talent was like his, but not as limited with touch. Bella was shield something that would be very useful. Aro could imagine them in gray robes of the Volturi. How splendid that would be!
"Carmen my dear!" Aro greeted making his way to the vampire. Aro had met new and old friends. He referred to everyone as his friend. Even if they weren't really his friend many weren't but knew better than to say something against it. He wanted everyone to know him and know he was the one in power the one in control. "How splendid of you to come!" Aro said delighted she had come. Aro had talked to Kate he had assumed the others in their coven had come as well.

stay, within me build a fortress to sheild your beliefs In an elegant, floor-length, silk dress, Carmen walked at a normal vampire pase off the dance floor to socialize a little. Her gown was a dark yellow that brought out the colour of her eyes and complemented her dark hair. It was open backed to aboveher waist, tied around the back of her neck with beautiful hanging beaded lace and the front was crossed into an sort of x that crossed back once in her back and around the front again -- in a sort of pattern all the way down her dress -- this hugged tightly to the dress in a design of fabric in a more transparant and lighter colour; light gray. It was a lovely, and very fitting ball gown. Her plain, pointed toed, white high heels only just brought her to the same height of her mate, Eleazar.
Carmen was having a great time at the Volturi Ball, with not a worry in the world. The only thing that could worry her would be that Aro would try to convince Eleazar to rejoin him, but Cam knew he never would. Actually, she was very pleasedto be invited to the Ball, glad Aro did not hold a grudge about the fact that she had stolen one of his Guard, or the event with the Immortal Child in Denali, which she was not really involved with but still. She was enjoying herself.
When Carm heard her name, she turned her head to see Aro walking her way. "Aro! How are you, dear?" She greeted him with a smile as she turned around fully.
"It is a pleasure to be here, thank you for having us." She thanked him with sencerity. She was having a great time, socializing with friends, and just enjoying having time with Eleazar.

"Splendid my dear," Aro replied enthusiastic as always. Aro was having a splendid time he had come across a few vampires he had not yet met. It was most certainly an interesting meeting new vampires. Of course he liked for them to know exactly who he was. Aro of the Volturi, was how he often introduced himself. If they had to choose just one leader most thought of Aro. He always wanted everyone to know he was the one in power, in control. He loved his power and would do anything to keep it.
Aro was aware that because of Carmen, Eleazar had left the guard. Aro had allowed him he was not going to force him to stay. His power had been helpful allowing them to find humans who talents would be intensified as a vampire. He had found several vampires within the guard presently. They still had ways of finding humans or even vampires. Aro would like for Eleazar to come back, but he would not force him. There were far more valuable talents he wanted particularly the Cullen's. Ah, but he had thought about that much tonight he best not dwell on it right now.
"I am most pleased that you came as well as everyone else," Aro replied. "It had turned out be a grand ball, but I expected nothing less." Aro had expected many vampires to come some with talents he wanted, he craved. To gain more power. But to also allow everyone to get together it was a pleasant event. Aro was watching every vampire looking at each talent that he could add to his guard. "And I most certainly hope you are enjoying yourself," Aro added. Most were having a good time from what Aro had seen.

"That is wonderful to hear." Carmen praised. A good party always demanded a happy host. Though, she had no doubt that Aro had run into people who were not as pleasant to him as she was, other people had actual querls with him, she did not really. Aro did not seem to care that Cam had taken Eleazar away from him, which was terrific because he was not going to get him back. Plus he seemed careless about the intervention they had in Forks. A misunderstanding. But Carmen could never forget that day, the day Irina was distroyed. A sad day indeed for the Denali coven. She still felt bitter about that, but chose to stay on the leader's good side as much as she could.
"A flawfless evening, very enjoyable. We are having a wonderful time." Carmen's crystal voice still carried the slightest bit of a Spanish accent, and she pronounced words very clearly, each silable was clear.

"Ah, yes the rest of your coven is with you. Are they not?" Aro questioned when Carmen said they were have a wonderful time. Aro had a little chat with Kate as well as a new vampire he had not met before, Damion. It was rather interesting he knew he was a 'very respected man and also very powerful' how true that was. Aro loved for everyone to know who he was that he was in power, in control. It was something he craved just like his power. He would do anything for more power. Everyone in the Volturi knew that he had demonstrated how far he was willing to go in the past. Though no one knew that. He was something that would forever be hidden no one would ever find out. He was careful to never think about that. Just knowing he was willing to kill anyone for his power.
"I trust that Eleazar is doing well," Aro said curious about the previous guard member. He had left the Volturi not to long ago he wasn't sure how long he didn't really keep up with time that well. Aro really didn't notice time passing that much being an immortal. He was aware of promises they made to make visits to old 'friends' making sure they behaved. Like young Bella who had been changed just as Alice had assured him. Such a talent! To see the future was something he craved he could imagine the possibilities if such a power was available to him. He craved it and one day he would get Alice. There was rarely anything he wanted that he did not get. He was selfish if he wanted something it was to be his very soon. However, the Cullen's may be that one exceptions. It may be easier to have them destroyed so they couldn't cause any more problems. Now wasn't the time to dwell on that.
Aro turned his attention back to Carmen a friendly smile on his face as always. He could always plan and plot on ways to gain his power later. He had to be careful with his thoughts right now. He was aware the Edward was here his talent very useful. How much he wanted to be able read thoughts from a distance. Aro hadn't thought of any plans yet, but he was heading in that direction. He was always planning something, wanting something.

Carmen nodded and spoke. "Yes. Tanya is off somewhere, Katrina is most likely with Garrett and Eleazar, if I am not mistaken, is cathing up with Liam." It still hurt a little to think that Irina was gone, but what she had done was a little stupid, though when you saw it her way, it was completely understandable. But it had been hard to stand there, and not attack the Volturi after they distroyed her, thankfully Eleazar was able to hold back his anger and instead hold Carmen back from attacking the Guard. He would not what her to be distroyed for attacking the Volturi. It would tear him apart if she was distroyed at all.
"Oh, he is doing just fine. Thank you." Carmen smiled widely, but it was a bit bigger than what she would of intended were she not speaking to Aro whom was also the host of this event. He had been so curdious to invite them, might as well be nice back, it was the least she could do. "How is Sulpicia? Well, I hope."

"That is wonderful to hear my dear," Aro replied. Aro would be pleased if Eleazar was to join the Volturi once again, but knew he would not because of the vampire before him. Carmen did not have any talents that could add to his power. But the thought of having Eleazar back would please him even if Carmen would come along. "Eleazar was very useful in the guard. It is a shame he left us. I could just imagine all the good he could do if he was still with us," Aro was letting Carmen know he still wanted her mate. It was rare for someone to leave the Volturi. If they would allow Aro to gain more power Aro wanted them.
"I'm sure even yourself could be useful, perhaps." If Aro was to gain both Carmen and Eleazar perhaps he could gain the others that had talents. Kate. Maybe even the Cullen's eventually. "Sulpicia is doing well," Aro replied. His attention was mostly focused on gaining other vampires to his guard. Gaining more power. That was always his goal.

Aro seemed to be in good spirits, so far he seemed very unbitter about what she had done to his numbers so many years back. Apparentyl she was wrong. "I am certain he was. But he does not plan to go back." Eleazar said it often enough. He was too happy with Carmen and the others in Denali, and now with Garrett there, Eleazar was not the only male in the family.
"Thank you for the offer, Aro, but I would rather not. I am very content with my current lifestyle." There was absolutely no way that Carmen would join the Volturi. She knew Aro would only take her if Eleazar was to join as well, and she would probably be kept away in the tower along with the other wifes half the time.
"It is great to hear that. I just might go say hello, later." Sulpicia was the opposite of Aro, a very refreshing personality in all the madness she was surrounded by. [/blockquote]

"I'm sure there is ways to change one's mind," Aro replied. There were many ways to gain more guard members. If there was a talent he wanted he usually gained it. Unfortunately with Eleazar it was a bit different. He had left the Volturi much to Aro's displeasure. He had hoped to have him gain them once again, but that seemed difficult right now. Eleazar was happy where he was, but was certain he could be much happier back within the Volturi.
Aro had Chelsea who could change the ties, loyalties. Their bond was close, but it was not entirely impossible to change that. It would take time to be sure. That time would be worth it. If he could gain Carmen he would be certain Eleazar would follow close behind. Now wasn't exactly the right time, but he could try to gain her. "Not many get such an offer, but you are right." Aro only chose those who could gain him more power and it was rare, but with the possibility of gaining Eleazar, Aro would take Carmen. "Your lifestyle is a bit different," Aro did not like the idea of living off animal blood. He thought it weaken the vampires, but there were two covens or rather families as they liked to be called. They were stronger and had many talents that Aro wanted.

This was definatly not good. This proved Aro was going to try his hardess to get Eleazar once more. Carmen was a little scared. "We are fine, and very content with our current lifestyle. We are not looking for any change." She wanted this to be very clear to him. "I understand, and it is an honnor to be presented such a rare opportunity, but, unfortunately, I must decline." Carmen had the greatest sense of serenity. The subject was infuriating, but she was always very calm and curdious.
"Yes, it is. But we love it."

"Perhaps later you will change your mind," Aro replied. He wasn't going to force anyone to join the Volturi today after all this was a ball. Everyone should be enjoying their time here. And with so many witnesses Aro would not want to force someone to join. He would gain what he wanted eventually. He was seeing so many talents tonight offering many vampires a chance among the guard. So many talents he wanted, and not a single one would join willingly as of yet. It was frustrating to be sure, but he could and would wait.
Aro nodded Carmen was content with her life as it was. He would not force her to change it. Of course he normally got what he wanted and not being able to gain any vampires he wanted angered him. "I've read reasons as to why you choose this life," Aro said getting of the subject of having Carmen join his guard in hopes to gain Eleazar once again. "Even with the reason I still not understand why you want to go against your nature. It is strange to be sure."
Aro smiled remembering when he had first heard the idea. Carlisle was the first vampire he had met how drank from animals. He had hoped to find others who would share his lifestyle. Aro had expected him to weaken with time, but if anything he had grown stronger. And if that wasn't enough he had many vampires within his own coven that Aro wanted. Edward, Bella, Alice, so many talents he craved and he would gain some day he was sure. There was nothing he was not denied. He would gain those talents, but how he was unsure.

There was absolutely no way that was going to happen. Carmen would never join the Volturi, only to be carelessly left behind up in a tower for eternityalong with the other wifes while Eleazar was once again exploited for his ability. What Aro did was far from good, and she did not want anything to do with it. Carmen forced a grin to Aro, she had absolutely no intension in taking him up on his offer.
"Human blood is grand, yes. It is much more satisfying, but animal blood helps us retain ourself easier. Also, if we all started to hunt humans, they would start noticing our presence globally." Perhaps that would convince Aro that their lifestyle was indeed very good. He did not have to tak up the habit, though it would be good.

Aro still did not see why one would want to stick with the diet of animal blood. Aro never had nor ever will want to taste animal blood. He preferred the smell and taste of human blood. It was very difficult to compare the two. Some vampires may not seemed civlized, but could be if they wanted. Most chose not to be, to be like the monsters. As so many humans think of. The humans think it's just a myth only a story and it will remain that way.
Aro disagreed with Carmen's last part. There were vampires all around the world who fed off humans and there were only two known covens who did feed off animals. It would not be that big of a difference if they were to be like normal vampires and drink from humans. Yes they would have to be careful, but all vampires had to be. It was a rule they had and it was enforced by the Volturi. Keep the secret.
"There are so few who do feed off animals," Aro said in response to Carmen. "It would not be that noticeable if you were to change your diet." Aro would never completely understand why they wanted to feed of animals. He had though Carlisle would have weaken with time and eventually begin to feed off humans, but that was proved wrong. "It may cause suspicion among the humans, but you always have to be careful. Most do live off the blood of humans." Aro was not trying to change Carmen's diet simply explaining that her excuse was not good enough to convince him otherwise. "We all have to be careful." Both vampires who drank from humans and animals always had to be careful.

"We are few, but we are strong around humans." Carmen spoke in a hard, yet proud tone. "I understand your lifestyle, as you know. Though I, at times, miss human blood, I could never go back to brutaly harming humans." It was more humaine, Carm found, to hunt animals. She nodded. "There is no room for mistakes. Luckly it isn't much of a worry for us in Denali, especially since we eat animals."

"As long as your careful. I'm sure you know the price if you were not." Aro would be sure to have anyone who revealed what they were destroyed. They would not give second chances as they have demonstrated countless times. Aro would certainly never hesitate to have a vampire destroyed because they reveled to much. Aro was also looking to gain valuable guards. It appears he is unable to tonight. He had tried to acquire the Cullen's in which he failed. He didn't expect them to change their minds. And here he had just tried to acquire Eleazar and even Carmen if it would mean gaining Eleazar.
Aro noticed Caius not to far off. There was something he needed to discuss with him. Of course he had to be careful with his thoughts and what he said. Edward could hear his thoughts and with so many vampires around it would be dangerous to speak to freely. "My dear if you'll excuse me I have much to do. I'm certain we will be talking again!" Aro didn't wait for a reply. After all he had no reason to wait. He could choose what he wanted to do. Aro headed straight for his brother. Curious about how he was handling so many vampires around if he had tried to acquire any. Mostly likely not.
