.:Basic Personality:. From a very early age, Mina was friendly. She was very charismatic, and was often surrounded by friends. Now, as a vampire, she is nearly irresistible to humans. Living in Volterra has encouraged her to seek out humans as food, so she uses her charisma to take lives.
In spite of her happy nature, Mina is reserved around other members of the Volturi. She does what she is instructed to do without question, but is not likely to be seen at “social occasions.” She spends a great deal of time on her own, usually studying. She enjoys art and literature, and has been dabbling in newer concepts such as psychology.
As far as negative qualities go, Mina tends, like many vampires, toward aggression. She’s not particularly violent unless provoked (or taking prey), but when goaded, she uses every weapon at her disposal, including objects around her. Though loyal to the death to the Volturi, she’s not afraid to speak up about things that bother her. Also, she can be narcissistic. Not in any debilitating or irritating sense; she simply knows that she’s good at what she does, that she’s stronger than humans, and that she’s beautiful.

.:Date of Transformation:. 1688
.:Cause of Transformation:. Fabian, a Nomad from Italy
.:Coven:. Volturi
.:Family:. None
.:History:. Cosmina Neve Abandonato was born on October the eighth,1668 in Venice, Italy. She had a very happy life with her parents and two older brothers. Her father was an unfortunately unsuccessful opera composer; luckily, he had another occupation. He was a prosperous merchant, and the family had a beautiful home, many wonderful friends, and enough money to ensure a decent education for their sons, and instruction in music and etiquette for their daughter.
Over the course of her education, Mina became very talented in the area of music, particularly singing. Her voice was crystal clear and carried well, and she was asked to perform a small part in her first opera at 14. After the success of her first opera, she gained both a following and bigger, better parts. The extra money she earned worked to improve her family’s status even more, and eventually they moved to Florence, a center for the arts.
In Florence, Mina was a hit. She was pursued by rich and powerful men, and found great delight in turning down their proposals after confessions of undying love. Then one night, after a particularly good performance, she met a man she could not refuse: a stranger even more beautiful than she, with eyes that were darker even than coal. He offered an invitation that he said would extend her period of success indefinitely, and when she accepted, vain human that she was, he revealed his true nature as a vampire and drained her nearly dry.
For nearly a week she suffered through the change, feeling pain in every part of her body. She nearly died twice, and when she finally emerged, she was a fairly weak vampire. She feasted for hours at a time on victims her creator brought to her. He introduced himself as Fabian, and promised to care for her, and all he wanted in exchange was for her to sing for him, and only him.
Believing her talent was meant for the whole world, Mina agreed, determined to break this oath as soon as she was able to fight off the blood cravings on her own. She was with her creator for nearly two years, singing and dining on hapless, unwitting villagers. During that time, she also became aware of the power she possessed: she could move objects with her mind. When she asked Fabian about this power, he suggested that it derived from her “inner gravity”: she could draw people in, why not objects as well? After a great deal of practice with this power, she learned to use it quite well.
On the second anniversary of her birth into her new life, Fabian brought Mina to Volterra, where she became acquainted with the powerful Volturi for the first time. She offered to sing for the assembly, thus nullifying her agreement with Fabian, who was destroyed for disrupting the “peace” of the ancient coven by threatening to terminate a vampire with interesting powers. Mina might have been destroyed, too, if not for her telekinetic ability. She was offered the ultimatum of joining the Guard or suffering the same fate as Fabian. She accepted, finding herself eager to serve the great vampire congress. She would be allowed to sing whenever and to whomever she chose, have as many victims as she chose, and extend her knowledge beyond what her upbringing had offered.
For the better part of three and a half centuries, Mina has been a loyal member of the Volturi Guard. Her unwavering devotion seems to be a very valuable asset, and she has no desire to separate herself from the governing body. She finds the “vegetarian” vampires to be burdened with an unnatural amount of conscience, seeing no problem with taking human life when it serves to strengthen her body. She savors the thrill of the hunt and would take down any prey simply for the glory of victory.
