((Vampire Baseball Anyone?))
---------Rosalie was the first one to the clearing, this time. It was rare she was, but she had started out alone and came to meet everyone here. Dressed in her stylish, and cute 'uniform' and base ball cap, Rose was ready to play. She even had carried the bag of a few bats, and about ten baseballs. ---Sometimes, when batting, the ball's would break at the stitches. So, they always brought more then just the one. Dropping the bag where home would be, she looked around, trying to smell or hear who was going to arrive next. Not that is mattered, Rosalie just liked to play, (and being honest, she liked to win). ---She loved to spend this time with her family, Emmett always seemed to enjoy sports, Edward and Jasper, both seemed to have lighter moods and get excited when they were going to play. It was one of the few times they spent doing something as a group. Rosalie turned to look at the sound she heard, and watched as the 'person' who made the ever so fiat sound, came out of the woods and into the clearing. She would have heard the sound without her sharp hearing. ---She pretended to adjust her hat so that it caused her hair to frame her face and grinned, "Are you ready to play?"{Not sure on the time line, whoever post after this can pick. } [[ Open To All Vampires]]

[Ooc: How 'bout....Pre-Twilight?]
Esme rarely traveled alone, she was usually with Carlisle, they rarely left each others side. But she had spent the day mostly alone, another one of his hospital days. She sped through the forest, the trees blurring past her. Esme's caramel colored hair blew in the wind and she focus her gold eyes on the small opening of the forest she could see ahead.
As she passed through the threshold that seperated the clearing from the trees she noticed Rosalie. Pausing briefly where the forest trees met the open playing space she straightened out her own uniform. Though Esme wouldn't play, she still found it fun to dress right along with her family members. She had to keep the family honest, she knew they loved to get into the game and would do anything to win.
She looked up at Rosalie after smoothing out a wrinkle on her shirt, a bright smile on her face. "I'm ready to be the umpire," she commented before sprinting toward her. It took Esme mere seconds to reach her daughter's side, she glanced up at the cloudy sky, just in time to see a flash of lightning far out against the surrounding mountains. "Where are the others?" Esme asked just as the crack of thunder sounded.

Jasper was very, VERY excited. He greatly enjoyed baseball, and further more, he enjoyed any chance to bet and beat Emmett -- or try to anyway -- . He headed towards the few who were already present: Rosalie and Esme. He too was clad in the proper uniform, the hat included. This was the only time he wore a base balll cap. He casually spun the bat in his hand . . . a habit of his.
"Rosalie, Esme," he greeted, smiling. "The others are on their way." Perhaps they were the most eager ones . . . Jasper knew he was anyway. "We are batting first, yes?" He asked Rosalie. Esme never played . . . they needed someone to ensure they did not . . . cheat. "Are you sure you will not play with us Esme?" He asked. He knew she would not, but he felt he must ask anyway.

------ ---"They shouldn't be to far behind you. They know the storm is coming." Rosalie said with a smile, and excitement in her voice. "If I had to guess, Alice and Edward would be trying to play the game out in their heads, Jasper and Emmett would be making bets. Carlisle would be trying to get them here." She teased, knowing she might be close, but she might be wrong. It was hard to tell, especially with Edward and Alice.
---Rosalie reached over and hooked her arm with Esme's while they waited. "Was anyone close behind you?" She asked, looking up at the sky with her. "It seems close, Alice could tell us for sure."
---When Jasper entered the clearing and walked over to them Rosalie got out a bat and handed it over. Apparently she had been wrong about him and Emmett making bets and coming in together.
---Jasper and Rosalie were always on a team together. They liked it that way. They both were competitive enough to play to win, and both loved the sport. "I am not sure who is batting first, we the others get here we can find out. Who else is on our team?"

"Well, it looks like Jasper was close behind me," Esme said with a smile as she watched one of her sons enter the make-shift baseball field. "Hello hun," Esme greeted, her lips pulled up in a sweet smile.
"I'm quite sure I will not be playing today," she told him with a smile, "It would make the teams uneven if I did, and someone needs to make sure you all don't cheat." She could imagine what a game without her would be like. A mess. She would hate for anyone to have to see that....

"Carlisle," Jasper said in response to Rosalie's question. "Emmett, Edward and Alice will be on a team of their own." The two teams were strong ones . . . it made the game all the more challenging and therefore, all the more fun.
He smiled in return at Esme. "We do not cheat," he said innocently, though he was rather certain that if there was no referee . . . they would be more inclined the bend the rules a little. "It is rather wise to have an umpire though. I would not want Emmett to win one of our bets by cheating his way through it." Jasper was of course, teasing Emmett though he was not here to hear it. He would probably repeat it when he joined them.

Emmett was very excited to play baseball today. He was ready to win! Of course he was overly confident and a tiny part of him told him not to, but then again, it was a very tiny part of him. After all, nothing positive will come if you don't think positive, he thought as he made his way towards the clearing. He sprinted straight to where the others stood. It looked like Jasper, Rosalie, and Esme were the only ones who made it so far. He stopped next to Jasper and Rose, "Hey Jasper, Rose, ready to lose?" He teased playfully with a huge smile on his face. He loved to do that to them, anything to make them even more competitive. He grabbed a bat and started practicing his swings.

------ ---"If by lose you mean, 'Win by so much, we lose track of how many points we are ahead' then yes, we are." Rosalie sent him a impish grin, then turned, and walked over to pick up her own bat. She still didn't know who was batting first but she was ready to do a few warm ups while they waited for anyone else who might join them. "Besides, Esme is here to make sure you don't cheat. That will hurt your chances of winning." he winked at him and moved to stand beside Esme again.

Jasper smiled at Emmett's arrival and his teasing remarks. "Would you care to make a little bet about that?" Oh the joy of betting. They really would have to find a good way to keep track . . . so Jasper could keep count of how many times he beat Emmett. Though money was of no significance to them, it was more the ability to be smug and prideful for a good while after the bet was won.
"I say, we beat you by at least ten points today. And like Rosalie said, Esme is here to make sure no one cheats -- as usual -- so do not try to cheat your way to success." He grinned at Emmett while continuing to swing the bat in his hand.

Esme looked to Jasper and raised both her caramel brows in a sarcastic manner. "Oh, of course you don't," she told him sarcastically.
Esme watched as another member of her family marched into the clearing. It was Emmett, and he looked rather enthusiastic about todays baseball game. Naturally. "Hello Emmett," she greeted as her burly son approached the three of them. She couldn't help but smile as they all got into "game mode", betting each other already. "Yes, I will not tolerate any cheating," Esme repeated to Emmett.
Esme wondered idly where the rest of the family was. It was unlike Alice and Carlisle to take this long to get here. Usually they were so hyped up for the ability to play a good game of Thunderball and were here as soon as they heard there was a storm in the area.

[sorry im coming in kinda late, so i only read like a few posts]
Alice broke the tree line out of the forest minutes after she heard Esme greet Emmett. She was dressed in her full baseball attire, ready for a good game. Seemingly prancing her way across the field to land beside Jasper, a wide smile came across her face. The small girl really hadn't been listening on her way here to their conversation, more like dronned it out. "What did I miss?" she asked, so excited it showed even in her voice.

------ ---"GOOD! Alice is here, we can at lest see who will bat first! Then once Carlisle gets here we can start winning!" Rosalie said with a smile. "You missed nothing Alice, just Esme reminding us we cheat." Rosalie was in her mood mood today. Nothing short of the storm going away early would ruin her day.
---"Alice," Rosalie pointed to the sky, "Is it going to last long enough for a good long game?" Rose hoped so. Alice was better then any weather man. She would be able to tell how long the storm would last. When Emmett swung the bat, Rosalie's hair moved with the wind it created. Emmett was a hard hitter. Rose picked up a ball and set her own bat down. "Oh, Emmett..." She sent the ball flying at him. Rose was not as good of a pitcher as Alice, but it was fast. Still, Emmett would have time react and hit it.

"Hello Rose!" Alice lifted her basball cap slightly so it wasn't all in her face. Her golden eyes seemed dull in the massive amount of shade made by the clouds, and her cap combined. Looking up to the sky, Alice's expression went blank for a minute. As she returned, she nodded, a wide grin on her face. "It will deffinately last."
Flashing a smile at Jasper, Alice skipped over to Emmett, careful not to get too close. Where was Edward? she thought, clearly upset he wasn't here. And Carlisle wasn't here either. That just left her and Emmett against Rose and Jasper. Guess thats even. They're missing out!! Waiting for them to arrive though was torture. By time they got here the storm would be gone.
Of course Alice was exaggerating this. They'd have plenty of time.

Emmett was thrilled to hear a bet in the making. He didn't even have to think before answering. "Heck yes! You are so on!" He said as he got more enthusiastic by the minute. Jasper was betting that he could beat Emmett's team by at least 10 points, he had no problem with that. He could easily beat them, he was confident of that. "Alright, it's a bet!" He replied with a huge grin on his face.
As the bet was being made, Esme had said she would not tolerate cheating, and she looked at him while saying that. He didn't even cheat...that much. Only when it was necessary, and it wasn't like he was the only one who cheated occasionally. "Why is everyone looking at me!" He said, putting on the most innocent expression he could manage.
He heard Rose call his name and turned to look over to see what she had wanted to say. The next thing he noticed was a ball coming at him. As a reaction, he gripped his bat tighter and hit the ball out into the forest. He watched the ball with a smug expression at how far he had hit it.

Jasper smiled at the consent of the bet. It was officially on. His smile only grew when he wife entered the clearing. Even though they were not on the same team . . . he was not as competative with her as he was with Emmett. He did not make bets with Alice . . . mainly because he would most likely lose on purpose so that she would win and be content with the success.
Jasper would have asked if they should start warming up without them . . . but it appeared they were already doing that. "Who is pitching first?" He asked, looking between Emmett and Alice before allowing his gaze to rest in the far distance of where the ball was hit towards. "Not too bad Emmett. A tad bit rusty, but I am sure you will improve," he said teasingly. It was of course an excellent hit . . . Jasper would just not admit it right now. He would congratulate him on his skill after he won his bet. It would make it that much more humiliating for Emmett. That was the real reward . . . the loser's humiliation.

Carlisle came into to the field on the far in just time time to catch the ball Emmett had hit. He smiled but said nothing as he quickly ran to the group, and tossed the ball back to Rosalie. "I think that counts as an out." He stopped running when he was next to Esme, and dropped a casual arm around her, while he waited to see what he has missed. "Were is Edward? Are we playing one short today or," Looking at Alice, "Is he coming?" Alice would 'know'.

------ ---Rose watched as Carlisle caught the ball and smiled to her self, then looked over at Emmett. It was a sign for how the game might go. When he tossed the ball to her she turned back to Emmett and practiced pitching again by sending it at it.
---She heard Carlisle asking about Edward and she wondered her own self where he was. She didn't want to wait to long but at lest she could help Emmett and the others 'warm up' or something while waiting.

Esme watched as more of her family entered in the clearing. First Alice and then Carlisle. Carlisle. Esme's expression brightened greatly, it was always a relief when he was back in her line of sight after a day separated because of his job. She longed to be by his side right now, hugging herself beside him.
And as if he had read her mind he was quickly at her side, wrapping an arm comfortably around her frame. With a sigh she turned to look at her husband's face, a smile playing at the corners of her lips as he questioned where their first son was and if he'd be joining them. Esme turned, eyes curious, to hear what Alice had to say as she placed her own arm around Carlisle's waist.

Smiling, Alice said, "Yes, he's on his way. Hope he hurries though. The storm will start soon." Sweeping the edges of the field in search of her bronze-haired brother, Alice frowned. "So whose team goes first?"
Suddenly, a rain drop fell to the field. Alice smiled. this would be interesting. The rain would make it slightly harder to play, but it wasn't like they weren't used to it. All the same though.

Edward sprinted through the trees into the opening. To any normal person it would have seemed like he just materialised from nowhere however his family saw his approach though even for them he was quick. As he entered the meadow he counted the players knowing whoever was last usually was referee to keep the teams even and the game fair.
He grimmaced slightly. "Damn, guess I'm ref. Unless someone wants to swap?" He really would love to play. He may not have been the best batsman there but he ruled as a fieldsman.
He looked at each of his family, each of them knowing that they would not have to speak aloud to let there answer be known to him.

------ ---"Actually," Rosalie said, her voice slightly pleased, "You were voted to be on Alice and Emmett's team." Finally they could start, "The only thing left to decide is who bats first, and who is in the field, first." Rosalie wanted to bat first, but she was willing to play fair. Her team consisted of Jasper and Carlisle. Both good batters.
---Rosalie could have just asked Alice who would win and who would bat first but she planned to win, so she felt she already knew the answer to at lest one of the questions.

Edward spotted a baseball bat nearby he stepped over and hooked his foot underneath it. With a quick movement the bat jumped from his foot to his hand. He walked over to Rosalie the bat outstretched in front of her. "Okay guess the captains need to do the usual trick." He tossed her the bat automatically assuming that she were one of the captains.
He stepped back arms folded the smile still on his lips he glanced over at Alice. "Course Alice could just tell us who wins."

Esme smiled hugely as Edward walked into the clearing. Edward was her first son and he held a very special spot near and dear to her heart. "Yes Edward, you should play and I'll be the ref," she agreed with Rosalie.
As Rosalie and Edward figured out who was going to bat she figured she would go place herself behind home plate to watch the game. She squeezed her husband tighter against her as she led them. "Come on," she muttered, smiling up at him.

------ ---"Alice will not." Rosalie said with a laugh and a mock glare at Alice, "We are not going to start off the game with you two cheating." She winked at Esme being Esme had just said no cheating a bit ago.
---Rosalie put her hand on the bottom of the bat, and was ready to put her other hand above his and so on and so on, to tell who won, and who got to bat. "Bring it on Edward." She teased him.

A quick glance at Alice and Emmett showed that this was fine. Edward stepped forward and grasped the bat just above Rosalie's hand. So it continued in a lighting fast round to see who would get the last touch on the top of the bat. He frowned slightly as eventually his hand finished just at the top of the Bat. Rosalie would win by placing her hand on top.
He glanced over at Alice wondering if she would already be grabbing the Baseball to warm up.

------ ---Rosalie liked to win. With a smug look on her face, she took the bat from him. "Better luck in the game." She teased him. While Rosalie planned to win, if she happened to lose, Emmett's good mood would make sure she did not pout for to long. Winking at Emmett, Rosalie walked to where home plate would be. Time to play some Ball....

Carlisle, kissed Esme's hand before letting it go and moving to join his team. Carlisle walked by Edward in order to get to home plate, and as he did he placed a hand on Edward's shoulder and shook his head while smiling brightly. In his mind he was thinking of how Edward had made Rosalie's day by losing, wither Edward meant to lose to had honestly lost. "Play well son." He said as he joined Rosalie.
Once he was with Rosalie he pointed tot he bat in her hands, "Ladies first?"

Giggling as Edward broke through the trees as expected, and raced down to the clearing, Alice said, "Speak of the devil and he shall appear." As Edward went around grabing a bat, and automatically declaring himself captain, Alice stood by Emmett. "Nice hit!" she exclaimed, though fake surprise was evident in her voice. As the deiciding on who bats first was being decided, Alice remained still, blanking out. When she heard Rosalie say 'Alice will not', she smiled sheepishly and shook away the vision.
She wasn't cheating. If you could even count that cheating. It wasn't like she could control that, and seeking it before it happened didn't make an impact on a baseball game. Not much anyways. "Guess I'm pitcher.." Skipping over to the makeshift mound, Alice whispered, "Carlisle.. or Rosalie?" Her next victims. "Or Jasper.." Alice added playfully.

Esme stood off to the side, just behind home plate, shaking her head as she grinned hugely. They were all getting into game mode. She wondered how long it would take before she'd have to step in and break up some sort of argument. But she didn't mind, moments like these were what she lived for. Spending time with her family.
She watched as the members of her family took their spots on the field. Alice naturally taking the spot as pitcher.

"Better luck in the game."
Edward just raised an eyebrow as he reached in the pocket in the seat of his pants and removed his cap. He grinned as Carlisle came over and put a hand on his shoulder, his thoughts questioning whether Edward had let Rosalie win or not. Edward definitely was not going to answer that question. He winked at Esme and then ran over to field on the opposite side of the clearing to Emmett.
"Come on Alice, show them what you got!"
" First ball, first out," He promised to Rosalie.
