Jasper's confusion had not declined in the slightest bit. He still had no idea what Alice was thinking. They had left amongst all the concern, and though he did not mind leaving the house with her, he was not sure what she had planned. They had left in such a rush . . . when where they going to go back? Where were they even going? They seemed to be going to the border, but perhaps that was just Jasper thinking too much of the situation. Maybe she just really had to go leave the house to get a clearer picture . . . but that was not what his gut was telling him.
"Alice," he said, still holding her hand in his own, trying to keep up with her. "Where exactly are we going? The others must be expecting us back soon." They had shortly left right after she had gotten a vision . . . a very disturbing one. There was a big fight coming up, and Jasper needed to help strategize so that they had good odds against the Volturi.

Things were going to turn badly, very badly, if they couldn't get there and back in time. The Volturi was coming, all of them -- even the wives -- they were coming for them all, but especially for Renesmee. They had to stop them with witnesses, and though the witnesses the rest of the Cullens had in mind were not bad, Alice had seen the perfect one. She just had to find them and bring them back. They left without a word and though it seemed as if they were abandoning the family in their time of need, it was far from it. The secrecy was to make sure that they didn't get their hopes dashed if they came too late and to keep them from focusing on what they needed to do. And that was round up as many witnesses as they could just in case Jasper and Alice did not make it back in time.
The future was changing very much, too much, Alice found. Much more than usual. Sometimes she would see things that were happier than others, sometimes it was all very grim. There were so many plausible deaths, most of which, Alice could bare to have come true. If they did not make it back home in time, and they were truly too late, she would be guilt written.
The little vampire ran through the forest, towing her husband behind her. She would have to tell him what she was doing soon. When Jasper spoke, Alice came to a stop. She didn't face him. Her eyes searched around. "Wait here," She told him, looking up at him. "I will be right back. Just wait, please." And without waiting for a reply, she headed off through the forest. Alice quickly found Bella and Edward's cottage and ran in, looking around the living room. She pulled out a book from her pocket, the first page was already ripped, so she wrote on the next page a name and an address before placing the book on the shelf. She turned on her heels, heading out the door, closing it behind her and ran back to find Jasper. "Come on." She took his hand again and started off again. She knew he wanted to know what she was doing and where they were going, but they had to hurry as much as they could.

Jasper still had NO idea what was going on, but he was determined to find out. No matter how badly he wanted to follow Alice to . . . wherever she was going, and help her with whatever she was doing, he complied and stayed. The fact that she was not immediately telling him, and that they had just left their family so abruptly, worried him. She had never been like this before; usually they had some sort of plan, the family did. But now, it appeared Alice's mind was working on its own.
When she came back, he wanted to stay to find out what was going on, but continued to allow himself to be led to her. As they sped through the forest, he repeated the same line of questioning. "Alice, please . . . tell me what is going on. You are worrying me." His voice was filled with concern, and curiousity of course. "Where are we going?" He did not mean to overwhelm her with questions -- especially since she seemed quite distracted and caught up with her plans -- but he could not help it. He was seldom in the dark when it came to Alice and her visions. She only did this when she was trying to protect him, but something told him that this situation was different, for she wanted him to go with her -- which of course, suited him just fine -- .

Alice felt horrible. The concern Jasper held was her fault. She had to tell him right away, though she had planed to tell him later on. As they approched the border between La Push and Forks, she stopped running and quickly turned to face him. "I'm so sorry." She had to start off by appolagizing to him, her voice sencere. The rest of her words came out more rushed than usual. "We need to get to the Amazonians. I believe that one of them will help us when we find Nahuel. He's just like Renesmee; half a vampire, half human. I can't see him, but I see his Aunt, she's a vampire. If we can get to him, and bring him here before the Guard get here... He could be the most important witness we can get. Plus, we need to send the other Amazonian women here, to help. But I don't know if we will make it there and back in time!
"I hope we do, because the alternate futures..." The alternatives were terrible and horrifying. Alice did not want to think of them, but the future was changing at all times, even at that moment horrible things were going through her head. Alice shook it off a little. "We have to hurry." They had a lot of running to do, a plaine or two to catch and they had to swim as well.

Jasper was processing all of this information. They were leaving? Would they make it? Was this whole thing depending on whether they could get to the Amazonian coven in time? He could tell that she was in a rush . . . and despite all the questions he had about this plan, he trusted Alice completely. "Alice . . . " What could he possibly say? "Do the others know?" Did Edward know? Why had they stopped before? Jasper felt he should stay and fight with them, but if what Alice was suggesting worked . . . then there would be no need for fighting, right? And yet, Jasper wondered if the others would understand their sudden departure, or if they would regard it as a betrayal.
He was not going to go back. He was going to remain loyal to his wife. "We need permission to pass," he said, stating the obvious, but his way of saying that no matter what . . . he was with her. He would pace himself with the questions . . . he did not want to bombard her with them, like when they had first met.

Alice shook her head, "They do not know this, not even Edward. They do not even know we're gone, and not coming back." She knew it wasn't a good thing to do; leaving without telling a soul. Esme would be worried sick. "It has to be like this, though. They need to concentrate on finding witnesses. They need to be great in numbers, especially if we can't make it back in time. And I know it seems like we have abandoned them... But they have bigger problems to worry about than worry about us." It was hard, doing this -- leaving them. If she could, she would have tears in her eyes as she spoke, it was horrible to know how much the others would be disappointed and worried. But there was no other choise. "And I most definatly could not leave you behind. I need you a lot, even just being with me helps. I couldn't leave you behind because I still can't forgive myself for last time," Though if Jasper would have come to Volterra, he would of most probably been killed, her visions showed her her nightmare then. "And if I didn't make it back in time and you were..." She would not say it. She would not think of it. There was no time for sobbing, no time to waste.
"I know. We might have to swim across, scimming along the limits and heading as far as we can go this way." Alice figured. "I don't want to be rude, but we really need to get to the Amazon as soon as possible. It could take a very long time to find this boy." She took his hand again.

Jasper knew that it was probably much harder for Alice to leave their family like this than it was for him. Alice was quite right. They would be preoccupied with finding witnesses, rather than spending most of their time dwelling on their abrupt departure from Forks. He could feel Alice's pain as she spoke about leaving, and about the possible outcomes . . . and about how she did not want to leave him. Had they not been in such a rush, he would have pulled her into a comforting hug, but knowing that their time was limited, he just lightly squeezed her hand.
"You do not need forgiveness for last time." Jasper hated thinking about that time . . . how he had let Alice go on her own, how he had feared never seeing her again. At least now, whatever they went through, they were together. "I would not have been able to survive with without Alice. I may not have let you venture on your own this time. This time, we will not have to carry that fear of never seeing each other again, for I will never leave your side." He planned on staying alongside Alice the entire time.
Jasper nodded, knowing that time was of the essence. "We will get there as soon as it is possible." As they waited by the border, Jasper saw a few wolves approach. "Would you like to ask them, or would you prefer me to?" Jasper wondered if the desperation would sound greater coming from Alice and since she was less . . . threatening looking than Jasper, they may be more inclined to let them pass if she were the one who asked.

She gave him a grin when he gave her hand a squeeze, knowing very well that he was trying to comfort her. Jasper was always so nice to her, Alice felt very special, and lucky to have him as her husband. But her thankful expression faded into a sadder one. "I swore to you I would never lie to you; and I did... But if I would have told you, you would have insisted on coming. I knew you would be better staying with the others." Alice explained. "I just wanted you to be safe, I could never live without you, and I made it my top priority to ensure you would be." She then had to make sure Bella survived and that Edward did as well, but secretly, she was not going to let anything happen to herself, especially; she did not want Jasper to go through that pain. "It's more the others that are in danger than we are." She added to his comment.
Alice looked into the woods ahead, seeing roaming wolves ahead. She looked back up at Jasper. "They take you more seriously than I..." Alice seemed to be a joke to the wolves. It was, sometimes, enfuriating, but Alice knew better than to attack a bunch of wolves.
(bring in our wolves ?)
