Alice took Carlisle's black Mercedes Benz through the roads of Forks, Washington for the first time in months. Nothing had changed much since she had last been to Forks, the small town never changed it seemed. She missed it, though, it was her home, her favorite place where she and her family would reside in. But now it felt less friendly, less homey. It held bitter memories from their last time there. She could never erase that day from her mind, no matter how much she wanted to. The black car pulled up a driveway and the sound of the engine cut off. It was the Swan residance, and it was completely deserted. Alice expected this, however. The petite vampire slid out of her father's car, locked it and walked at a human pace to the front door. The key was in the same place as it had always been, so Alice let herself in, replacing the key and leaving the door unlocked behind her.
The house hadn't changed much either, everything seemed the same. She sat on the couch and waited a little impatiently for Charlie to arrive.
Earlier that day she was in a different continent. But when she had a vision of Bella jumping of a cliff... being submerged in the dark water... and not resurfacing... she quickly got to the airport. Of course, she knew that she would not have been able to stop nor save Bella, but she hadn't thought much about why she came... Alice figured she'd help Charlie, console him. The poor man could not stay in his home alone, greeving.

[[Doesn't Alice think Bella is dead? She had a vision that Bella jumped from the cliff, but couldn't see she was saved by Jake b/c he is a shape-shifter. Right or am I thinking of the wrong part?]]
It had been stupid and reckless to jump off that cliff. But it was well worth it being able to see Edward so clearly to hear his velvet voice making it seem like he cared if she lived or died. Could she stop what she was doing? Could she be a responsible adult for Charlie's sake? He had just lost his best friend, Harry Clearwater, and she had been reckless jumping off a cliff. What if something had happen to her what if she did something to cause Charlie to have a heart-attack? It would have been her fault if anything had happen to him.
She may be able to be responsible if she had Jake. She loved him enough to want him to be happy. Was she being cruel like Mike had suggested? Her love for Jacob would be nothing like what she was capable of and she would have to explain everything. How crazy she really was. She knew he would take her anyways. All of this was erased from her mind the moment Jacob said he smelled a vampire. Victoria. That was her only thought. Fear gripped her unable to leave. It changed when she saw the black Mercedes in the driveway. She told Jacob to stop he was betrayed she was choosing to go to the vampire over him. It was enough to make her feel guilty. She got into the driver's seat as Jacob left. Her whole body shook as she carefully turned around the truck to return home.
Bella walked up to the driveway carefully. What if it was a trick? She knew for certain that was Carlisle's car there was no mistake. Bella walked into the house it was dark just like the dark water had been. Bella traced the walls searching for the light switch when she froze completely. The fire on the water had not been a fire at all. The red color had been so familiar. It had been Victoria. With this realization Bella was frozen terrified what if she had been along what if it had been just Jacob and her?

Alice was very patient, but also unpatient while she waited for Charlie, or anyone else to come. Perhaps she should have taken the time to hunt before coming -- her eyes were pitch black -- she hadn't gone hunting in a few days, which wasn't too wise on her behalf. But she had been rushed. She had told Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett where she was going and what she had seen. They best not find and tell Edward. Alice feared what Edward would do if he found out Bella was dead.
The deathening roar of the red truck Bella drove was heard. It stopped infront of the house and Alice stood when the truck door closed. She walked into the hallway as the driver walked to the door. She thought that it was perhaps Charlie who had taken Bella's truck back home. But when the door opened, the person whom was searching for the light switch was far from being Charlie. Alice reached next to her, flicking on the lights herself for them and in the light, it was cretain; it was Bella.

Victoria had been on the water. She had been that fire that she had seen. The same shade of red. How terrifying Bella felt as if she was frozen with fear. To know how close she had been. How close she might have died with Jacob there with her. Sam was there as well, but what if he hadn't? Would Victoria had tried to take her life? So many questions Bella didn't want to face. As the lights flicked on all thoughts of what could have happen were erased. The pale figure before her, Alice.
Bella looked at Alice. Her memory had not done her justice. Was she really here? Was this just another hallucination? Bella couldn't stop herself. She ran to Alice giving her a hug. Her body was harder than she remembered and colder. But she could care less it was Alice! Bella breathed in her scent it was pleasant something had missed dearly. "Oh, Alice!" Bella exclaimed as she hugged. She had missed her so much. She missed all of them, but wouldn't dwell on that. Alice was enough. But how long would she stay?

Was it really Bella? Or had Alice gone insane? She highly doubted that she had. But was it really Bella? When she ran into her chest, hugging her, Alice was in shock. She slowly wrapped her arms around the girl, still confused and shocked. "Bella?" Her voice was as shocked as it was relieved. It was really her! The smell was unmistakable, though it was off. The smell... Ignore it Alice. She told herself. She wasn't going to weaken and do the unthinkable. Alice held her breath, she wasn't going to harm Bella because of her own weakeness to blood and her lack of hunting.

Bella continued to hug Alice she had missed her so much! Bella didn't even notice when she started sobbing. She was just so happy to see Alice again. She hadn't thought she would have ever saw her again. All her previous worries seemed to disappear as she inhaled Alice's scent. "I'm sorry," Bella said crying. She couldn't believe Alice was here with her that she was able to touch her hard, cold skin. To breath in her scent that could never compare to anything else. It was almost to much for her to know she was really here.
"I'm just so happy!" Bella continued through her tears. She had missed Alice so much. She didn't let her thoughts dwell on anyone else. All her thoughts were focused on Alice. She didn't care why she was here. Just that she was here. It wasn't some trick of her mind. Bella couldn't stop her crying so was just so happy to know Alice was here.

When Bella started to cry, Alice frowned a little to herself and pulled Bella to the couch. She sat down, craddling Bella on her lap and rubbed her back. The tears were not helping the situation, but Alice wasn't going to stop Bella; let her cry if she felt like crying. Alice kept her face as far as possible, and continued to hold her breath when she could. "It's ok Bella. Shh." She tried to confort her... Perhaps she would stop crying.
Alice gave a little laugh. "I'd forgotten how exuberant you were," Her neck was strained now, as if it were mad it couldn't get any farther away or any closer. She wasn't going to have Bella for lunch; the thought has horrible.

Bella nodded everything would be okay. She didn't know how long Alice would be here and didn't want to think she would have to leave. She didn't know what she would do when the time came, but she wouldn't' think about. Alice was here with her now and that's all that mattered. Bella hadn't been this happy in a long time she had missed Alice so much it hurt. Her body was cold and hard, but Bella could care less. It was Alice! That's all that mattered and that's all she cared about.
Bella looked up at Alice her neck was strain. "Oh," Bella said realizing what was wrong. "Sorry." Bella had not thought about being around thirsty vampires in such a long time. She had almost forgotten. Her eyes were not golden, they were dark meaning she was thirsty. Bella must seem appetizing right now. Even if Alice was thirsty Bella didn't care. As long as Alice was here.

Alice closed her eyes and shook her head slowly. "It's fine, Bella. It's not your fault. I should let myself get so thirsty." Alice tried to hold her breath, but talking didn't help. She was strong, she could do this; don't bite, don't bite. She had to resist the blood, for Bella's sake, for her own, for her family and for Jasper. Especially Jasper.
((((awefully short, I'm terribly sorry!))))

Bella didn't want to let go of Alice she didn't want her to leave. She had missed her so much. More than she thought was possible. Seeing her here she could feel the tears gather once again. She was so happy to have Alice back. She didn't worry about how long she was here. She didn't want to hear how long she was here. Or even why. She was here and that was all that mattered at the moment.
Bella did loosen her grip she didn't want to be to much of a temptation, but she still didn't want to leave Alice. "But still I didn't notice. I'm sorry." It had been such a long time since she had had to pay attention to thirst like this. Even so she was still overjoyed. She was so happy to have Alice here.

Alice sighed. "You have no reason to be sorry about something I should be appolagising to you for." She clenched her teeth, that sigh was a bad idea, she'd breathe in soon. Fight it Alice! She told herself. "I didn't have time to hunt, I just got on the plane as fast as I could... speaking of which," Alice shifted Bella a little in her arms and sat her down next to her, keeping an arm around her. "Why are you still alive?" Wow, that sounded weird.

When Alice questioned how she was still alive that stopped all the crying. Bella looked at Alice she must have seen her fall. "You saw me fall." Bella looked down. That must be why she was here she saw her falling and thought . . . Bella sighed looking back up at Alice. She was alive and mostly uninjured. Her throat still burned with the salty water she had choked back up, but besides that she was fine. It had been extremely foolish. Especially when Harry Clearwater had died. Charlie needed her and where had she been? Being stupid and reckless she needed to stop this and to what was right what was responsible. If for only Charlie it would be hard, difficult. But it may be possible.
If Alice had seen her fall why didn't she see Jacob save her? It was a bit strange, but not all of her visions were clear. Perhaps this one had not been as well. Bella wasn't sure how she was going to explain this one. She didn't want to even try and explain how she had been able to hear Edward's voice. It was so easy to think his name, but saying it or hear it was another story. She couldn't bear it. She didn't think about that for long. Alice was here! That's more than she had ever hoped to have again. She didn't want to think about when she would leave her.
