This kind of event was the precise thing that Tia dreamed about. Everyone getting dressed up, seeing different cultures, meeting new people and catching up with those she had not seen in some time...these were only a few of the things she was excited for upon attending the ball. She had entered, arm linked with Benjamin, and Amun and Kebi beside them in the same position. They had been later than the invitation called for, but how could someone truly be late to an event that would no doubt, last for quite some time. Vampires never tired, and what better way to put ones energy than in dancing and socializing.
Another part of the ball that had caused her great excitement was attire. Oh how she loved to dress up. Today, she had chosen a light pink, sleeveless gown which flowed down to her feet, and trailed behind her. She wore a long silk, slightly transparent, silver veil that had been pinned to her head upon entering, but was now draped around her bare arms as they rested there, still exposing her shoulders and back but covered only a portion of her mid arm. Her jewelry also consisted of silver, matching the intricate design that was placed in a methodical way down her gown. Her earrings were large as were the bangles she wore around her wrists. Her hair flowed past her shoulders, well down her back and with this complete look, Tia had been ready to make her entrance.
Though she had entered with her mate, he was conversing with others...engaging in a conversation she would have felt intrusive for including herself in. So instead, she stood on the side, watching each couple glide along the floor. This sort of dancing was not familiar to her...she was more used to the kind of dancing performed in her country, and one that she engaged in herself: belly dancing. That kind of dance however would look massively out of place at such a formal occasion, so she knew her skills in that field rendered useless in this hall. Instead, she just watched, smiling, admiring everyone and how beautiful each vampire looked.

Garrett was bored as hell. When he had seen the word 'ball' on the letter he had almost burned it to keep it from Kate. Damn the girl was fast. So here he was, dressed on some suit that felt to soft, and to light. He felt naked, in room full of vampires he hated, and he was sure, hated him. Damn controlling Volturi. Try to murder a family. Try to steal a little girl from her family. Have a ball. The one one proved the damn Volturi were just plain mean on top of pure evil.
Garrett saw a beautiful girl standing alone, and since Kate was 'having a ball' and not around him he walked over. He loved his little Kate, but was trying to make her jealous enough to stop dancing with other men, and maybe taking him home. Spend a week in bed. Only come out for food. . . . non-human food. "Well now, what be a such a beautiful girl like ye self doing standing here? You should be dancing." He held out his arm, "With me"

Tia had been too distracted to notice the stranger approach her, but when he did, she focused her attention to him. She gave him a polite smile and fought the urge to look for Benjamin through the crowd. "Your offer is all too kind Sir, but I am afraid the dancing culture of this land escapes me. I do not believe I can move as gracefully as the others present on the ballroom floor." She had no trouble admitting that she could not dance, but she wished she knew how because every one who was dancing looked like they were having a fantastic time.
"Perhaps you would be better suited with a partner who will not damage your image," she said, a little jokingly as she continued to smile at the unfamiliar vampire. She did not want to make it sound like she was rejecting his kind offer to dance for personal reasons; what she said was in fact the truth and while she could admit it, if she had been human, her cheeks would have blushed.

Garrett just gave a little chuckle. "Oh, come not darling." He said moving his arm around her arm so he could pull her to the floor. "I am so good at this dancing, I can make you look experienced, and great." He tilted his head, "You just have to trust me, little one." He pulled her gently to the floor, making sure no ti hurt her, and that she could refused if she really wanted to. "Come now, trust me to show you." Let Kate see him with her. Let Kate get jealous.

At first Kate had not noticed Garrett with this pretty little women, but minutes later when she looked towards the spot in which Garrett had claimed as his own, he was not there. Which worried her greatly. He was standing there all night, he had barley moved from that very spot, until now, where he was no where to be found. Well All she really did was stop her dance with the nice man she had met here, and walked off with out so much as a thanks or a see ya. She just wanted to see where her love has gone. It was not hard to find him, all she had to do was follow his path. So when she came across him, arm in arm with a beautiful -other- women. She was a little heated. Pissed off really. Kate pursed her lips together, her eyes narrowed a little as she watched, and listened. Well she turned him down that was good. She liked the girl a little at least. Then he called her Darling. Oh boy, he was gonna get it! Yes he was. But Kate just kept her mouth shut, and stood where she was, a few feet behind Garrett, trying not to be seen by him, or the girl he was with. She wanted to see how things unfolded before she came barging in all pissed off. Shoot she would end up shocking everyone in the area, just flipping out. She was not very good when it came to sharing. But that's besides the point. Kate would just stand here and wait to see the girls next move. And if she had to she would go over there, and break up the little party. Thought she really was not sure if she could keep her anger in check so going up to them now, would be a very very bad idea. She would surly rip the girls head off, and all becasue she was jealous. So rather then risking the girl's head, she stood where she was, watching, waiting, listening.
